Wood Nook Fisheries in Leeds

Unlike croft Street and the bearded sailor, the fish and chips were pretty poor we all thought. Batter, hides the fact that these are pre frozen fish and chips, chipies called fish bars usually are. Definitely better chip shops around.

I usually use another fish bar locally but went here due to a large queue at the usual place. I was very pleasantly supprised. The fish and chips is far better than the usual place and the staff warm & friendly. Price is more or less the same as other places but the fish seems bigger and are freshly cooked and not just sat in the warmer. Having read the review below about using “vegan” fish and the smell ....yet again this is ANOTHER attempt by vegans to force their agenda onto others and leaving a zero star review is just a pathetic way of forcing THEIR views on others and demeaning a local business based on their beliefs. Here’s a question for you .... “How do you know if someone is a vegan?” ..... “Oh don’t worry ...they’ll tell you”

Best fish and chips in Farsley. The biggest portion sizes AND also cheaper than competitors. Why would you go anywhere else? Fish is light and moist, chips are cooked perfectly.

Comido aquí dos veces, en ambas ocasiones me ha impresionado el sabor, la cantidad y el costo. ¡No estoy seguro de haber comido un pescado tan grande en ninguna otra tienda de pescado y patatas fritas! Volveré aquí. También es fácil llamar con anticipación para hacer un pedido. No hay dónde sentarse dentro, por lo que es más un servicio para llevar, pero hay un parque no muy lejos (Westroyd Park) si hace buen tiempo. Lo único que podría mejorarse es un menú actualizado en su página de Facebook.

Está en la carretera principal a través de Farsley, es una comida para llevar tradicional, no comer en Llamé esta noche camino a casa de un partido de fútbol en el cercano Farsley Celtic, fue muy útil que fuera fácil estacionar afuera. Las dos personas que trabajaban en la tienda fueron muy amables, el pescado estaba recién frito y tuvimos una agradable conversación mientras esperaba, aunque no fue mucho. Masa de Yorkshire adecuada (no gruesa y dura, era ligera y crujiente) en el pescado y no se podía encontrar un trozo empapado en ninguna parte (no como yo quería trozos empapados). La masa estaba deliciosa y el pescado estaba bien preparado, cortado en trozos gruesos y fresco. Las patatas fritas estaban bien preparadas y cortadas de papas en la tienda. También podrías poner tu propia sal, lo que me gustó. Puede ser la próxima temporada antes de que vuelva a pasar por ese camino, pero planeo llamar cuando lo haga, tú también deberías hacerlo.

I went there just to pop in and it was great quality the portion sizes were bigger than expected.The service was very friendly and welcoming overall I rate it a 5 star would recommed again

We are regulars at the Woodnook, maybe too regular!! The fish and chips are always really tasty and great value for moneyr. The couple who run it are lovely too! Would definitely recommend!

My partner has got us Fish and chips from here before on his way home from work so I thought I would try it again. There was a lovely couple running it, chatty and friendly. The lady even told me it would be cheaper for what I was getting to get the family deal. Really good value for money. A smiley face, and a nice chat make all the difference. Left with a smile on my face. Fish and chips were spot on! Great service, great food! :-)

I've visited here many times now before writing this review. If you like good quality fish n chips that are reasonably priced then come here. The fish is huge - the lite bite is enough for me. Always cooked to perfection and hasn't disappointed yet. The fish literally melts in your mouth and I don't know what type of potatoes they use but the chips are just great. Good menu choices available and if I was to be critical about anything it's that when it's busy some staff members can look a bit flustered - which can be awkward. But who cares when the food is great, well priced and QUICK! My new regular chippy.

If you like freshly fried, moist, white fish in a crispy batter with non greasy chips then look no further than Wood Nook Fish & Chips it's definitely the best in Pudsey and surrounding areas. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

I've been here many a time and it's always really really nice... fish is cooked fresh to order when you go in and the chips are always nice! Thoroughly recommended!!

I have been told about this fish and chip shop by a few people saying it was the best around by miles so last Saturday tea time I give them a try I ask the lady for 2 specials and a bag of chips and a family peas She said that's £12.85 please as I was waiting for my food we all got chatting about are kids and are family's ! It's a lovely family run business who are very warm and friendly and the food was amazing I should of ordered a regular fish because the specials were like whales best fish and chips I've ever had the quality was out of this world we will never go any were else my opinion 10 star rating

This is my favourite fish and chips shop ever the staff are awesome and it is not overly expensive I love it

Was passing here on the way to my sisters new house last week so decided to pop in for a chippy tea for us both. As I walked through the door I asked the fryer for a fish and a battered sausage cooking to order (as I would anywhere else) and as I noticed there was no other customers I added "I'll have chips and peas with those too please" and the lady behind the til rings it through and tells me the price (cheaper than I expected) so I ask if that includes the chips and peas too, the lady behind the counter looks puzzled at me then turns to the fryer and says "do you understand what he just said?" Was taken aback at this response so I say the full order, fish chips and peas and battered sausage chips and peas, and just wait for my food.

Nice food shame the fish shop is filthy. .. plenty of dust on skirting boards and grease all over......

wood nook fisheries have the most amazing fish and chips i have ever tasted and i have lived along time ha ha if you havnt visted you dont know what your missing .The staff are so friendly it makes waiting time fun .They also do a variety of other food .Its definitely worth a vist

Lovely Bright spotless fish and chip shop. The staff are so friendly and eager to please Not like a lot of chippys where they just don't seem interested. The fish and chips are amazing quality and value, I love the fish straight out of the pan and into a long bread cake, unbeatable.

This far the best fish and chips in Leeds,fish is cooked to order and it is a good size,excellent value for money.

The fish is very meaty with a very crispy batter. Good portion size. I would describe the chips as healthy unhealthy food if that makes sense. Nice and crisp. The staff are very pleasant and take a big interest in what they do and want to please. They currently are doing special offers of fish and chips for £3.50. Highly recommended.

Were regulars and its great to have an independent fish and chips shop on our doorstep, its much more recommended that the chains which can be found in and around Leeds.

Well what can i say, Woodnook fisheries at the top of Old Road cant be faulted. Traditional fish and chips, ideal to have on a walk down from New Pudsey train station down into the village centre of Farsley.

Wood Nook Fisheries is my local Fish & Chip takeaway. I try and get here every week as the Fish & Chips certainly are one of the best I've tried. Portions are very generous and service is always friendly.It has recently been refurbished and has new owners although the quality is just as good if not better. The shop is also bigger than it was previously as it has been expended into the vacant shop next door.

Love this chip shop, really nice fish and chips and very large portions. I'd probably use it a lot more but it's normally closed by the time I get home from work.
