They made a serious mistake on an order, giving a non meat eater of 30 years chicken and they don’t consider it a serious mistake. We even read out the dish numbers when making the order on the menu. There was no apology and only the offer to remake that dish. They weren’t willing to give a sincere apology or refund the meal in spite of regular customer. I highly recommend avoiding eating here.

At the age of 52 I have eaten a fair few Chinese meals, this by far is the most disappointing Chinese meal I have ever eaten. Full of sugar and no flavour, over cooked dry meat and the greasiest prawn crackers ever eaten. The most lack lustre meal eaten since the 1980’s. How disappointing

We tend to have a takeaway once a month or so and since we moved to brixham 5 years ago we have always used Wongs House. Never been let down and always hot and tasty.

Pleased to see that Wong House continues to produce excellent Chinese food. We always visit during our stays in Brixham. Particularly enjoy Chicken balls, Singapore fried rice, shredded chicken and chicken chow mein, Give it a go you won’t be disappointed. Beware portion sizes are generous

Old menu on internet. Cost a lot higher than expected when we asked them why they said menu on internet 7 years old and they said they could not update or remove. I ordered crispy duck. Pancakes fell apart so you could not roll. Duck so hard you could not use 50%. Would have been better getting from a supermarket.

Really looking forward to dinner ate here a few times before when coming to Brixham, always nice. But this time not good I found a long black hair in my rice put me off my dinner. Such a disappointment. Checked hygiene rating after for it to be a 1 might explain it!

We always have takeaways from Wong House when we come to Brixham. As usual we have had two great takeaways on this visit. The food is top quality and far better than any Chinese we get back home. The only problem is to allow for the large portions so you don’t over order

One of our ‘must do’s’ on our holidays in Brixham are takeaways from Wongs. We so wish Wongs were where we live. As usual the food was excellent and ready for collection within 15 minutes. The portion sizes are very generous and very reasonably priced.

Always used Wong. Incredible grub. Been eating from here for nearly 50 years. had a good agreement with old Mr Wong, fresh bass for a beef curry. About the only ongoing recipe sill in house, Wong would have been ashamed at the quality of food handed out at the moment. especially the pancake rolls, its the starter, for a Chinese meal western style. not to be under looked. Unless asked for, a pancake roll needs to be substantial, with ingredients other than beansprouts.

Normally order from here when where on holiday and in the past can’t fault. Todays Chinese was cold over priced to greasy charged wrong price and had along wait I would avoid at all cost wongs is nothing like it used to be. Rip off and horrible food

I live in Brixham so I've been here a couple of times and never received what I actually ordered, I thought I'd give it another try but that just turned out to be a mistake. Once again, not what I ordered but this time it was also inedible. Don't usually leave bad reviews, anywhere can have an off day but now I'm p*ssed off and hungry and it now closed. Will avoid in future, given them more than enough chances to get it right.

Spent a week in Brixham. Tried Wongs again after a long break of visiting Brixham. Still great food. You need to try it out. They adapt foods to suit.

Im fussy where i eat and always use wongs last meal was a bit iffy but normally brill plus its cash only

We will use again because the food was absolutely delicious, however, recommend that you order early, we had to wait 90 minutes - it WAS worth the wait though - excellent.

First class Chinese meal again from Wong’s House. Always go there on our frequent visits to Brixham and are never disappointed. On this occasion we had a starter (prawn toast) plus Singapore Fried Rice and Szechuan Chicken -all of it was excellent. We have learnt from previous experience that the portions are very generous so we now only have one main dish and rice between two people.

Ordered to pick up wait wasn’t long. Food was delicious, we had chicken wings which were amazing and chicken balls hardly not fat not greasy. Would go back again.

More first class visits to Wong House as usual the food was excellent and the portions were very generous. So wish we had a Chinese takeaway as good as Wongs where we live. Also unlike when trying to order over the phone on previous visits to Brixham this time on both occasions the phone was answered straightaway and was not always engaged. We’ll done!

Ordered a king prawn and mushroom with meat pancake rolls everything seemed fine until I noticed they hadn’t take the poo out of one of my prawns which instantly turn me off my food, then the next day I still had my meat pancake rolls in the fridge and was excited to eat them, but then my excitement turn to pure anger as I had been given vegetable pancake roll even tho I specified at least 5 time that I wanted to meat pancake rolls, my disappointment immeasurable

My family and myself were staying in South Bay holiday park nearby and had food from Wongs one evening. Fresh, hot, great tasting. One of the best Chinese’s I’ve had! If we’re ever visiting the area again we will definitely order from Wongs again!

We paid our usual visit to Wongs House during our stay in Brixham. The standard of food was excellent as usual and the portions were very generous. The only drawback is it is almost impossible to get through on the phone early evening so it is easier to go to restaurant and wait for your order to be cooked. The wait is usually very acceptable.

Waited 3 hours even thought we were told 1 hour wait. Food came and we explained we were not happy to pay the full amount after having to eat 3 hours later than planned! Were made to pay in full, (by 21:05 we were too hungry to turn the food away as we needed to go to bed! I usually LOVE wongs and have never ordered anywhere else. Food came from Ming garden instead (aware they are co-owned) but the foods never the same there. At least if the food was up to scratch the wait would’ve been slightly less painful. It would’ve been quicker to fly to China and find a local takeaway. No offer of discount or any remorse. Disappointed.

They were making faces at my daughter who is 5 mind you. And when we were served food the man smelled like he hasn't showered in weeks. Finally i often walk in there on accident and have to apologize for it usually going something like. "Oh sorray wong house"

Fantastic Chinese food, had a mixture, ribs, prawns, crispy beef rice and noodles all the food was lovely and hot.

Ordered selection of takeaway food to be delivered To our holiday home... arrived bang on time and piping hot! Everything was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed every dish! The duck and pancakes were very tasty!! Thanks guys!!

Asked the locals where to go for Chinese take away, they advised Wong’s. Partner and I both had dishes we hadn’t tried before and really glad we did. We both said they were the best take away we had had. Lovely friendly staff. Will definitely be back for more when we next visit.

We wanted a takeaway as we were all a bit tired after the journey...really, really good chinese, better than ours at home!!! prompt service , fresh and hot and a good varied choice.Excellent value for money.

My wife and I wanted to have a Chinese takeaway and tried this place for the first time. as usual it is cash only but there are plenty of cash machines close by. We had a couple of main dishes and a special rice which were delicious. The menu had a couple of dishes which I had not seen before which was a nice touch. Normally you have to choose a meat (beef, chicken, pork etc.) to go with the veg in the dishes but they had a mixed meat version which was really tasty. Took away a menu as we will definitely be getting a takeaway from here in the future.

Really delicious food, great service would highly recommend. Only downfall was they forgot to mention it was cash only. Being half Chinese I half know what I’m talking about :)

We had a takeaway from Wong’s while on holiday. They even delivered around Brixham for £1.50. It was the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. It wasn’t greasy at all and so tasty.

We walked into the centre of Brixham at around 5.15 after a busy day in the heat at Coleton a Fishacre,. Fore Street was only 15 minutes walk from our holiday apartment. We had one portion of egg fried rice, a portion of barbecue spare ribs and 4 main meals between the 4 of us. We got a free bag of prawn crackers! The service was extremely quick and we were back in our apartment eating by 6.00 ! The food was very nice and was good value for money too. Would definitely go there again. Thank you Wong’s house!

Two visits to Wong House during our stay in Brixham and again not disappointed. Really enjoyed the deep fried shredded chicken and sweet and sour chicken balls plus the Singapore fried rice. Excellent quality and quantity. Strongly recommend you give WH a try.

I have eaten from here quiet a few times . due to it being the only place around for a reasonable takeaway . some times it can be a little salty but on the whole it is ok

A very Bad experience would not recommendThe food was extremely Bad and when i complained I was asked to bring the food back I had explained that i had put in the dog’s bowl, this is when i was accused of being a lying, so i took it out of the dogs bowl and took it Back .I have never been so insulted in my life

Firstly delivery was super fast which was great and the delivery couple were lovely and friendly. Both our starters and mains were hot and tasty and both impressed with the amount of fillings in the curry's.Unfortunately I had a banana fritter which wasn't edible. It was rock hard and a weird purple/brown colour inside. I'm use to banana fritters going slightly brown inside, but not like this, so ended up in the bin :(

Another plus for Trip Advisor as we chose Wong’s a few holidays ago based on the comments. We were not disappointed again. Our meal was ready within 15 minutes of ordering and as soon as we arrived to collect. The portions were very good and again the food was excellent. The Singapore fried rice was particularly nice.

While staying at south bay holiday park we phoned for some food to get delivered. The driver pulled up outside reception where we were waiting and was friendly and chatty. The food was lovely absolutely no complaints and would order again next time I'm in brixham.

We ordered a takeaway from the Wong on recommendation. Unfortunately we were badly let down as no takeaway was delivered despite ringing them after 1.5 hours to see where it was! We were assured it was on its way. Interestingly whilst in the phone I could overhear another customer complaining that he had not had his delivery the week before. They must be making plenty of money to treat their customers so badly. A phone call is all it takes to advise of a problem. I won’t be spending my money here.

Really good authentic Cantonese food to take. away. Delivered to my door whilst on holiday in Brixham. All the family enjoyed their selection. I can recommend the mixed meat curry(103) & A29 Shrimp crispy thin noodles.

We were staying in Brixham and ordered food for delivery to our rented apartment. Order taken very quickly and efficiently and we were told it would be up to 45 minutes for delivery. After 55 minutes we called again to make sure we'd not been forgotten as our delivery hadn't arrived. We were told they were just leaving (always seems to be the case!) and that it would be another 10 minutes. It did arrive within 10/15 minutes and we have to say the food was hot and delicious. Would we recommend? Yes, but go in and collect your own food.

Lovely service and flawless food! The food came quickly, was all hot, tasted amazing and very fresh.

None of their drivers have business insurance and constantly break the speed limits. Also, half of the drivers are registered disabled and live in council houses that they also sub let.

Looking forward to a nice meal after a long journey, we came across this takeaway on Fore street Brixham. Ordered a crab and sweet corn soup as part of a meal.

We often order from here and even though it can get busy the food never fails to disappoint. Home delivery hot and fresh and just as good when collecting. Will continue to order from here as often as possible 👍👍👍👍👍

Would have given this 0 stars if possible. Ordered food for 5 at 7:30 eventually cancelled order at 9:30pm after 2 calls chasing food with false promises of delivery! Will not use again!

Had a takeaway on new year's eve, we had over £60 worth of food. It was delivered on time, it was all piping hot and it was absolutely delicious! Easily the best Chinese food we have had for a long time. Definitely recommended 👍

We have lived in Brixham for 11 years their are not many good Chinese takeaways available to us in this little town, however Wong’s is one of the best it also has a sister takeaway called Mings Garden , the food we have had from both are exceptional, at busy times you have to wait longer to get your food delivered, as they also take orders in the shop as well as phone orders for delivery. Good food is worth waiting for, fairly priced all the delivery drivers have a good personality and sense of humour , Dennis to mention one of them but they work hard to get your food piping hot to your door,

Having seen a couple of recent reviews on here we were apprehensive about ordering a takeaway but with my husband in the catering trade,we know that an off experience can occur in even the best establishment. We are so glad we did take the chance. The food was very good, every dish was superb and tasty and the portion sizes were very generous. Having had a long day walking around Brixham and Torquay we enquired about a taxi rank to take us back to our rental accommodation - even though it wasn't far, it was up quite a steep hill. There was a gentleman sitting at the table when we collected and he offered to give us a lift back to our accommodation - turns out he was the delivery driver and this was customer service excellence. He wouldn't take anything for it - it was a favour to us and so instead we gave a tip - something we've never done before for a takeaway. Hope to visit Brixham again one day and we'd definitely use this Chinese takeaway again.

My family and I regularly use Wong’s House and never had a bad one! The crispy chilli beef is hands down the best in Brixham. The ribs are always great too! Big portions and tasty! Highly recommended!

I have been ordering takeaways from this restaurant for 3 years and have never had a bad experience until tonight. My husband was eating his meal when he pulled out half a false nail . As you can imagine we then phoned the Chinese to make a complaint and explained what we had found it in one of the meals. The phone was then given to a man who said no one had put a nail in or had those nails in the kitchen , his attitude was awful and rude and no apology .I said please just refund me . The delivery guy came with the refund and took the meal and nail back. I then had a rude telephone call saying that they haven't done this and we had ourselves put this in .and was banned from the Chinese. I am totally appalled and they obviously have no respect to there customers.

We ordered a takeway from here and the food looked a bit suspect so we ended up throwing a lot of it away. Sometimes when we walk past the place during our afternoon shop, the horrible smell wafting out the door is enough to make me gag. I've been thoughrouly put off until they improve things.

Again would not have chosen to get takeaways from Wongs until we read reviews on Trip Advisor. In Brixham on holiday and had two takeaways during our stay. On both occasions the service was excellent and all the food was of a very high standard. The portion sizes were also larger than we expect at home and at very reasonable prices. Give Wongs a try you won't be disappointed.

We waited two hours for our Chinese, I was so annoyed, we were told at 9.30pm that it was coming.... but after my boyfriend waited an 25 minutes he gave up and walked back. Being an extremely protective girlfriend (after he had a kidney transplant) I rang them up the manager gave us a discount but what really changed our minds in using them again was Dennis . He is wasted in this place, Dennis (delivery driver) rang us and explained what had happened and apologised to me not that it was his fault. He then apologised to my partner and if that wasn't going above and beyond he rang is to ask if our food was ok. I was so touched... in all honesty the food was really good. Dennis went above and beyond. I ask that the restaurant recognise Dennis for going above and beyond and for showing true human compassion. Not only have his actions kept e very happy customers but he portrays the business in such a professional light. Please recognise Dennis for his actions you are lucky to have him. I have never experienced this before and you are exceedingly lucky to have him.

had a family holiday everyone had something different this was no problem ,the order was taken without any difficulty,everything was delivered fast and correct ,food was very good ,

Great Chinese food, but as we on holiday we weren't expecting the larger portions compared to our local back home!

Great Chinese and delivered to our holiday lodge site (Park resorts, Gillard Road). I had to go to reception to collect but was a lovely meal and not greasy. Would recommend if you’re visiting or live in the area.

Ordered a selection of dishes, all of which were nice. Chicken curry and sweet and sour chicken cantonese style were especially delicious. Egg fried rice and noodles were excellent. Chicken satay had lovely flavour, a little bit spicy, however could have had less vegetables. BBQ ribs and crispy shredded beef were both delicious but beef was a little bit chewy. One point worth noting is they do not accept card payments.

Stayed in Brixham many times and finally found a Chinese takeaway we all enjoyed.

We decided to try this place as we have gone past it many times when visiting Brixham. We ordered for collection, and went to collect. The guy behind the counter was helpful as I asked if we could have a half portion of Sweet n Sour Chicken, which they obliged us with. Prices were reasonable, food was nice and hot. We are cautious in ordering takeaway when visiting as we don’t know if we would like it but in this case it was amazing.

Had the Chinese delivered due to not knowing the area. Crispy noodles very crispy as uncooked. Crispy shredded beef was vile. The Kung Po chicken with cashew nuts had no flavour. Only decent dish was the sweet and sour chicken (canton style). Waste of money. All the food went in the bin.

Average food, filled a hole. Great dining experience, not really, had worse but also had much better. Good delivery service and easy to order

Wong's house is good for for most oriental dishes. First night I tried beef and peppers in black bean sauce and chicken dumplings with bbq sauce plus Yung Chow fried rice. Second night pork satay with boiled rice. All dishes very good with quick courteous...

So I ordered a chinese on New Year’s Day and was told there was going to be an hour wait which I was fine with, but then for my food to turn up two hours later with the wrong order I rang back to tell...

We are quite fussy about or takeaway chinese. The food was well prepared and tasty. Not much more to say.

Food was tasty, hot, great price and speedy. Just be careful as they don't always open on time (5pm but opened at 5.30ish). Gentlemen on the front was friendly. We will go back next year. 😁

Utilizamos este restaurante esta semana durante nuestras vacaciones en Brixham. La comida para llevar, está situado en el centro de Brixham justo cerca del puerto y hay un gran aparcamiento en la parte trasera y se abre a las 5 de la tarde. El personal que me atendió era muy agradable y servicial. Sin duda este nuevo uso para llevar y me hubiera gustado que estaba situado en mi ciudad, todos nuestros son muy pobres.

Had takeaway from here it was very good and plentiful in fact enough for the following day. Love the large pancake rolls.

Spare ribs ok, so was sesame prawn toast and chicken satay.... however peanut sauce was far too spicy. This takeaway packs all its dishes out with too much vegetable... soggy cabbage or Chinese leaf couldn't work out which, courgette, carrot so what should have been meat.. chicken and pork chow meins had no more than 50g of meat.... if we wanted vegetable chow mein we would have ordered them. Also spring rolls inedible tasted of what could only be described as Boiled in cabbage water beansprouts.

Four meals for four people and we were all satisfied. Prices were reasonable too. Would recommend to others.

Eat here quite a lot and reasonably nice but last time we ordered sweet and sour chicken and it came sweet and sour prawns, my mum is allergic to prawns so luckily I ate them before she had a chance as it could have been a very different story if she had eaten them, when we rang up they didn't offer anything and just apologised, we decided to give them another chance as we have ordered from them quite a lot, this time I ordered sweet and sour chicken canton style and it was very dry with only a little bit of sauce, when I rang up to ask them to deliver a pot of sauce (baring in mind I live a 2 minute walk away) the guy on the phone said we're busy so it would be an hour wait for a pot of sauce, and didn't offer me anything else, couldn't even eat it because it was so dry and probably won't be using them again.

Really tasty takeaway from this establishment we ordered a banquet for two not cheap initially but in the long run it worked out good value. Three of us ate a good portion each and 3 days later we ate the rest which was still too much , and it still tasted great. Will definitely use this place again.

I have tried everyplace in brixham for delivery this was my last chance ! was amazed with the food ! ordered 3 times in one week ! the young blonde polish girl on reception is so smart and even recommended dishes ! I have eaten chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce all over the world ! these are the best , and there in my town Amazeballs !!!

we usually use their home delivery, rarely have a problem unless I don't give the number as well as the dish name, been using for 13 years and they did go downhill a few years back but have pulled themselves back up. Lovely helpful staff both Chinese and English. Only thing is, not wheelchair friendly because of the building but nothing can be done about that.

Staying at holiday park in Brixham and try and treat ourselves to a Chinese this is the Chinese we were recommended when we first came to Brixham on holiday years ago and we ve always had meals from here and no where else we had chicken curry with chips and mixed meat curry with fried rice absolutely lovely throughly enjoyed our meals very nice staff and delivery service is ideal!

The worst Chinese I have had messed order up took it back related wrong order and gave me back rest of my order stone cold, very bad customer service never to go back there!

Must say this was a lovely Chinese/ Cantonese.I had a lovely chicken curry, Parents had beef with tomato And chicken & mushroom omelette.Food was delicious.They also offer a delivery service &We found that also very good.

All the usual Chinese dishes quickly cooked and served. Portions are generous and if you don't want a full meals you can choose any side dish or dishes from the menu

I've had better, but was good enough. Found it a little too greasy, and things congealed pretty quickly.Value was ok, collected so had no problems with ensuring food was good and hot.
