The Takeaways are really good. Personally, Beef Curry Jia Wang style is awesome. The food is freshest compared to others.

I have been going here for the past 4 years and never had a problem. However this evening we treated the family but the food was awful, cold, tasteless and not very good at all. The salt and pepper chips had no flavour the chips were really undercooked, the food tasted washy. Phoned to explain I wasn’t happy and would like a refund to be told no! Well you have now lost my custom

We traveled down from Leicester had a horrendous journey looked forward to a Chinese . Very no very disappointed spent £70 on different dishes only to find the best thing was the prawn crackers. No taste must have run out of spices as no taste in any dish .

Really disappointed. Ordered this evening and ordered for 7 people and we've ended up leaving most of it. The black bean had no taste to it and the ribs were really tough. Very very disappointed

Jia Wang are only a couple of minutes walk from where I live, which in itself is a bonus, but add to that great tasting food! I’ve had a few takeaways from here, and they were all really good and tasty Highly recommended!

One of the best Chinese anywhere. Been coming to Torquay for donkeys years. For the past 2-3 I have eaten the best Chinese takeaway anywhere at Jai Wang. Don’t let any churlish B put you off - go there and enjoy.

Have tried many Chinese/Cantonese takeaways in the area and this one is our favourite by a mile. We've never had anything but hot, super-tasty food and polite, efficient service. They do get busy and you might wait a while, but that's because they're good. The menu is vast, crispy duck and pancakes superb, and a big shout out for the bifeng tang dishes which are divine (amazing flavours, if you haven't tried this, DO!) Can be relied upon for great food even when placing a large order for guests. A real treat.

Very good Chinese with friendly and quite quick service. My only complaint is that I found some of the food was under seasoned but a tiny bit of salt and pepper can easily fix that.

Friendly service , didn't have to wait to long , ordered duck dish excellent. Mixed battered balls average. Salt and pepper chicken wings starter not bad. Bbq sauce not very good, as take aways go not the best but definitely not the worst.

The Hong Kong pork is crispy and full sized portions enjoyed them very much and true to it’s style which is good to have in this era of Asian fusion cooking so prevalent

Just ordered food tonight Never again £13 for two noodle dishes... reheated slabs of meat , a few soggy old bean sprouts. Utterly tasteless. It's a rip off... avoid at all costs

I’ve tried quite a few different Chinese takeaways since moving to torquay and this is the best one I’ve found. Very friendly, take card payments and a fairly quick delivery, very tasty food!

We've been using the Jia Wang for a couple of years,and it has become a firm favourite for a takeaway. The food arrives promptly in ample portions and is always well cooked and clean. It is also true to it's style which is good to have in this era of Asian fusion cooking so prevalent.

Ordered a very expensive meal..got it wrong..asked for new had to wait another hour.. manager came offered bag of prawn crackers and ran off ..food all cold due to this ...never order with them again

Recently moved to Torquay, and this was our first Chinese takeaway which we asked to be delivered. Food arrived well within the time given for a Saturday evening, was hot, good value and plenty of it. Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls and Mini Spring Rolls were great no grease at all. Prawn Crackers nice and crispy. Can't understand all the negative reviews.. unless we got them on a good day?!?! But we will definitely be using them again.

I live 2 minutes from Jai Wang and tonight, I thought I’d treat myself to a payday takeaway. I had salt and pepper chicken wings. They were tasty but there was three times the amount of batter compared to the wing itself then I had special fried rice. It was the worst I’d ever had. Dry and tasteless. I literally put half a bottle of soy sauce on it to try and liven it up but it was awful. Personally, I won’t be going there again. I was silly, I should have taken it back but had binned it before I thought to do so :-(

Having phoned around other Chinese restaurants in town to organise a take away banquet for 18, the guys at Jia Wang rose to the challenge without blinking and delivered a well cooked selection of dishes, on time, with a smile. Everyone at the party commented on how good the food was so congratulations guys. You’re now our goto Chinese takeaway in Torquay!

We were told our food would take 45-1 hour to be delivered, but it only took 20 mins which was good! However, the egg fried rice looked & tasted like boiled rice, very bland! We ordered salt & pepper chips which tasted like plain chips & we ordered bbq sauce with our chicken balls & was given sweet & sour, although I told the person on the phone bbq sauce over 3 times. And lastly, the man that answered the phone had very poor customer service, he went off the phone & had a conversation with someone else without telling us & he was not bothered that we were not happy with our food. We will not be returning!!

Went in to order 5 meals and extras. Told to return 30 minutes which we did. Then sat waiting for another 28 mins before the food was ready. They clearly hadn’t put he order through, maybe hoped to pocket the cash if we didn’t return........don’t worry, we will not be returning.

Ordered 5 meals and was told to come back after 30 mins. We returned after 35 mins and waited another 30 for the food! Ridiculous. They clearly hasn’t put the order through and thought we might not come back for it?! Will definately not be returning.

Been in Torquay 35 years and this is by far best Chinese meal ive had.Everything spot on even quality prawn crackers.

We decided to try Jia"s Wang ( No pun intended) and found the food to be of a good quality, We had special fried rice and there was plenty of Pork and Chicken and we did ask that we didn't get any prawns and the order was spot on. This restaurant also takes card which is handy to note and they seem to close on a Monday which is handy as our usual shuts on a Tuesday so now we have a plan B if we want a Chinese on a Tuesday evening

First time here. Proper Chinese food. The food is tasty with big portion which is quite good valued. I particularly like the salt and pepper chicken and the beef chow mein, which was not oily. I found out from the owner that is family run business.

We moved To Torquay 2 weeks ago, and after a busy day working on our house decided to have a Chinese takeaway. We had seen the Jia Wang and decided to go there. As strict pescatarians, we agreed we would never have meat in our new home. I ordered the king prawn chow mein, and Mark ordered the king prawn curry. When I got home, I tipped the food onto a plate, and took a mouthful. To my horror, my chow mein contained chicken instead of prawns.

It's an average takeaway these days but a bit on the pricy side

Great Chinese takeaway with thia options. Food is always tasty and good value. Service is freindly and efficient, both over the phone and in person. Plenty of parking just outside so it is very easy to pop in to pick up or place an order.

Ordered a meal for delivery, quoted 90 minutes which seemed like a long time. 2 hours and 20 minutes later when we chased it up they hadn't even started cooking it yet. Needless to say I didn't want my tea at 9:45 pm so we cancelled; we didn't even get so much as an apology.

Think the boiled rice we got had been cooked the week before it was dry and hard... the rest of it was bad also. Never been since... use the one on union street.. fresh fresh fresh and loads if meat.

I totally agree with your statement ever since this place has been taken over by these other people the food has changed and the food is a bit tasteless I used to love it but now it's a no no. I now order from some were else. And yes I know someone who got food poisoning from this place. Please old owners come back!!!!people arnt liking your place anymore so buck your ideas up and put the food back to what it was before cause your losing all your customers 😐😐😐😐😐😡😦😦😡please take note of this and change 😠😥😠😠

If you like House special FOOD POISONING this is the place for you! I have reported this to Torbay council. Steer well clear or regret it!...........................
