have had some great meals here carvery is high on my list 10/10. but the standards seem to be slipping .value for money is one of my grumps and service the other i had a quiche that was rather cremated on the bottom once no probs sorted instore.second time ordered a bacon and brie burger that i had to waight one hour for told it would be a while but when it came not only was it luke warm but it had no bacon and no brie (just a burger then ) was told by member of staff that i would have to waight for another to be cooked .i declined this offer and had a refund instead becouse every one else in our group had eaten.never mind these things happen i thaught but upon my visit on saturday i thaught i would try the fish and chip special .i asked if i could have a small salad garnish instead of mushy or garden peas only to be told no this is how it comes how hard is it to put a few green leaves a cherry tomato and a couple of slices of onion on instead . food came but fish was rather greasy and slimey inside but as i could see it was the same girl behind the counter i had issues with over my berger i couldnt be bothered to complain. come on please guys get your act together you used to be so good .wont be back unless i am having a carvery sorry

Well we’ve only been here once before and that was just before christmas and had no issues. Today however was a different story. Two light bites, two kids meals and two coffees, £40 which I think is pretty steep but we wanted a nice atmosphere and somewhere for the kids to play. We seated ourselves near the softplay. The table was filthy. We had to spend 5 minutes with baby wipes trying to get the grime off the table. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all morning. We then sat for an hour waiting for our food. The kids were starting to play up so we just decided to leave. I don’t know if they forgot about us as there were a few other families that came after us that had their food. We were given a full refund which I would expect to be honest. Unfortunately we wont be returning.

I love visiting garden centres this time of year full of festive delights. My sister and I decided we would visit to see what new items could be purchased for Xmas, deciding to have lunch first. I opted for the Chicken Tikka sandwich with mint mayonnaise and my sister had prawns. Both came with a handful of chips (probably 6) and coleslaw. The bread on both was very dry but as there was lots of sauce with the prawns my sister managed her sandwiches just leaving the crusts. However, even with a magnifying glass you would struggle to see the mayo on mine so I ate the chicken pieces with chips leaving the rest. It was extremely busy - I think we had the last table so it may be that not as much care went into the food, I don’t know. I think I’ve only had snacks before like teacakes. It cost us £25 for our two meals and a drink each and definitely don’t think it was worth that !!! Not sure whether I’d hurry back and certainly not during busy times.

Pros: lovely table decorated for us on arrival. The food was really tasty. There was loads. Good value for money. Cons The vegetarian afternoon tea was served with tuna sandwiches and two puddings which may or may not have contained gelatine (none of the staff could say for sure) which we couldn't eat. The supervisor spoke to me in a very patronising way when I pointed out that vegetarians don't eat fish (apparently some do?) Overall was nice, just a shame couldn't actually eat alot that was given. The other staff were all super lovely. 👌

———————WILL NOT BE BACK!———————- I’ve often enjoyed the British garden centre at Wolseley bridge, especially this time of the year the Christmas displays are a firm favourite with the grand children. On my last visit I was let down on entering the restaurant again…. There was 2 young girls making the coffee, one of which was of a large stature clowning around. There was coffee, dirty clothes and cups all over their workstation. Everybody in the cue stood complaining. Drink were being passed to the wrong people, they made one coffee on each persons order and then took so long to make another that everyones coffees had gotten so cold. When I approached the girl with the large stature she felt it and said it was hot and threw it back down on my tray. I could hear her muttering under her breath something. I then returned my coffee as my husband said that it was unacceptable, I was given a filthy look then left yet again waiting for the coffee. The lady at the till couldn’t have been more professional, regardless of being harassed with a large cue and 2 incompetent young workers she intervened and thus rectified the situation. This restaurant really should really consider who they hire? Yes I’m all for youths learning, but it has spoiled my experience yet again at a place I love to shop!

Visited for bank holiday breakfast, this was our first time trying the garden centre restaurant but had heard quite good things previously. Friendly staff, nice looking display of cakes, not busy for a bank holiday, maybe 6 tables occupied. Ordered two fried breakfasts and it took exactly 45 minutes to arrive!!! The fried eggs were terribly over cooked, the yolks were solid. The side plate of toast had obviously been sitting on a hot plate as the butter sachets were liquid. Complained to the young staff but no one seemed that bothered either about the wait or the overcooked food. Really disappointed

Attended 16th and 17th of august. We are buying plants for the new conservatory and thought to pop in for a coffee and bite to eat.The garden centre is so well stalked with fabulous items, took us a whole day and half to decide what to buy. One of the best selections by far on house plants. Sadly on both occasions in the cafe i had to wait in a cue while 6 members of staff were chatting over the coffee machine about their children, tables were filthy! One member of staff who served me (blonde) smelled of strong “ cigarettes” she was very agitated when taking my order. She wasn't very friendly at all, very unapologetic when some items weren’t available and spoke to me through her teeth when I asked questions. This cafe would be great if the staff worked at the same level of quality

The food was ok, and the ambiance acceptable - this is a garden centre, so I didn't expect anything posh. But the service was just appalling. There was a long queue; at one point there were no less than six staff members behind the counter - with ONE taking orders and five getting each other's way making coffee and chatting. When it was at last my turn, the one server went off, with no explanation, no polite smile and "be with you in a moment". Eventually she came back; one of the things I wanted was not available, she muddled the replacement, and then charged my for my full order although I had to ask twice for one of my items which had still not been provided. A total reorganisation and a bit of staff training in customer relations desperately needed.

I’ve always come to the gardeners cafe. I find the food reasonably good value for money and that of a good quality! Each time we are greeted in such a lovely manner. The Scottish lady behind the counter always remembers our drinks orders and makes us laugh and feel so welcome. We look forward to seeing her each week along with some of the other ladies. The fish and chips is delicious, freshly made. We have tried some specials and they also very nice. Myself and George highly recommend the scones which are baked on the premises and are absolutely huge ( biggest scones from anywhere around) If you attend around 9am, you will have those beautiful scones hot!!!

If I could rate 0 I would. Today my daughter and I popped in for a bite to eat. There was no room in the 1st part of the restaurant but spaces in the part which is designated for people with dogs. I’m happy to sit by a dog no problem. In fact out of the 6 tables only 1 had a dog with them. We ordered lunch and started to eat. Immediately a waitress started buzzing around holding onto a spray bottle and cloth waiting to clean asap, as there was now a queue forming. Behind us was a guy on a table for 4 happily tucking into his carvery. She kept coming up looking at him. Then unbelievably she came to our table and asked us if he was alone. When she was certain he was alone she let out a big sigh and shrugged shoulders. She then even more unbelievably went and asked the gentleman if he minded moving as he was on a table for 4 and it was really for those with dogs. The guy politely picked up his tray and started walking around with his meal to find another space. I was astonished at the bad manners displayed and I pointed out to the waitress she was out of order. She then argued with me and quickly placed another couple with a dog. That person obviously then felt uncomfortable and started arguing the point that it was for dogs. I explained I understand that but it was disrespectful to ask the customer to move half way through his meal. He became more argumentative and his wife was asking him to calm down. In the end they stormed out without eating and shouted abusive language to me as he went by waving his finger. What an absolute disaster of what should be an enjoyable day out. The waitress was totally in the wrong and ended up causing 5 people to be upset. I would not recommend this place at all and would strongly advise the company do some customer care training.

I’ve been to this cafe in the garden centre for years. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s terrible. Breakfast today: tepid and greasy food. Waitress looked guilty bringing it to the table; she knew it looked poor. Carvery, a month ago: tepid gunge that was badly slopped onto plate. (Lots of it though… if you want a heap of gunge, they are not stingey with the sides.) Tea/ dinner 6 weeks ago: chicken burger and fries; lovely. There are 2-3 experienced waitresses who know how to deal with people and do things properly, but they also employ some zombies, who wander past tables piled high with dishes, as if oblivious. It really depends on the day. Eating here involves an element if chance. You might get lucky…. You might not.

We came here to meet friends for a lunch, followed by a walk around swan lake. We were not disappointed at all. We have young kids and so utilised the soft play on arrival. Not the biggest and could use a little policing on the age of kids entering but my two had a lot of fun. We then had the carvery and this was great value. I was so full afterwards but wasn't prepared to leave anything as it was so tasty. Staff were also friendly behind the counter serving. We don't live far so will likely be back again for sure. Thanks

A treat visit before Xmas has proved very disappointing for us. The “festive sandwich” (£5:80) was squishy: overloaded with mayo (why??), the cold bacon was very hard and inedible, too much cranberry sauce on it, hence the turkey, stuffing etc wasn’t held together & was just a squishy mess. The sarnie was inedible because it completely fell to bits because it was so horribly overloaded with the mayo. It was tasteless, poor value for money and wouldn’t be chosen ever again.

Went to see Santa and for lunch - latter part a huge mistake! Tea and coffee, 2 very small kids drinks, a sausage roll (£2.95), kids meal (only part I’d say was average cost (£4.95), a small panini (£6.95) and worst of all, very, very poor ham and cheese toastie (£6.95 too!)

15 mins queing to order food, was told food would be about 15 mins, fine with that, then waited 45 minutes for food to arrive, other customers getting agitated with the wait . Our Sunday meal was Very! Poor quality food and bland. Should have asked for a refund and walked out. Will not be going again. Many comments in comment book saying the same. Went to shops over the road and conversations were the same, bad service, bad food, nothing of the experience was pleasant. My advise is do not eat there.

Went along to the restaurant for lunch with my partner and baby after a walk around the wildlife trust. Shockingly slow service at the till, took 15 minutes to place an order. Ordered a baked potatoe with chilli, a ham and cheese panini and 2 reg hot chocs. Came to £24.50!Our table had plates stacked up from the last customers, babies highchair was dirty and the floor was covered with food. Food took around 30 mins to come out, in that time no one came to remove the dirty plates. When our food arrived the waitress still did not remove the plates... very strange! The restaurant was fairly busy in their defence but if the staff had a bit about them they could run a more effective service!

Went with my family for afternoon tea, booking in advance and using Wyvale 2 for £12 vouchers, 1 per 2 persons, 3 in total for 6 people. We waited a bit longer than we would have liked but it was excellent value.

Had a lovely afternoon tea which was excellent value for money, scones were delicious and the mini cakes were out of this world, staff were friendly and helpful and very obliging when we asked for a box to take home what we couldn't manage.

Decided to give Wolsey Bridge another chance... Mistake. Severely overpriced food, fish and chips £9.95, can of pepsi £1.80!! Service was spectacularly slow, waited over 10 mins just to put my order in. Staff had no sense of urgency. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

We enjoyed our little pit stop here. I had the pie and my partner had the fish finger sandwich and both were washed down with some lovely well made coffees.

Visited here with my friend mainly because we had a voucher for afternoon tea at a special price of £10.00 although the wait to be served at the counter was a little long eventually we ordered our afternoon teas what a pleasant surprise we had a lovely assortment of cakes, scones were beautiful freshly made and still warm and two pots of tea amazing value, like all afternoon teas a few more sandwiches and a few less cakes would be better but the cakes were all delicious, my only complaint was that the girl serving at the counter could have been a little more pleasant perhaps needs a course on customer service came across has being quite rude although busy no excuse

Great selection of plants and items to buy in store. Rachel is lovely and defiantly always got a smile on her face, I just wish the other staff were friendlier. The walk is beautiful, just a shame dogs are required to be on leads.

Sorry - disappointed with the food, we had two sandwiches with a spoonful of crisps and a tiny bit of coleslaw. Both cost close to 6 pound per sandwich... so disappointing. Over priced and poor quality. Way too expensive for what you get. Would not visit again!

Cream tea was yummy, included large scone jam and clotted cream though I had a black coffee which was disappointingly strong and like it had been on the heat all day. Garden centre is not huge but just enough for a half day trip.

Called into the cafe for lunch with the family. All I can say is......Very Disappointing. Ordered a fish finger sandwich, and was faced with what can only be described as Iceland fish fingers! I wouldn’t mind but not what you expect when you pay £6.55 for it! Also ordered a Bacon and Brie panini, it could be described as mediocre at best. All in all, a very disappointing experience. I can safely say I will not return.

This place is across the road from my clinic so I go in a lot . Very friendly staff always helpful . Great to getting peat and compost sacks and a few plants and Xmas trees . A little more expensive than nurseries that perhaps have a greater variety and knowledge of plants . However marvellous for popping in to gather a few in and outdoor plants and plant food and an enjoyable experience as you can keep warm inside in the winter and gift shop

It's an upmarket Garden Centre tucked away off a busy junction of the A51. Consequently everything from plants to furniture are on the pricey side. The coffee shop is spacious, clean and offers a good choice of meals, snacks, cakes etc. Helpful small zone allocated for folk with dogs and a bigger soft play zone for children. Nice toilets if you're interested.

Staff did not know which items were available from the menu and could not suggest alternatives. Soup was stone cold. I warmed it up in the baby food microwave for 2.5 minutes and it still wasn’t hot. Sandwich was made with stale bread. If you’re just having a hot drink or a piece of cake then you’ll probably be ok. Make sure that they don’t overcharge as I had to ask 3 get the advertised price for soup+sandwich.

We stopped at the garden centre with our 2 year old grandchild and were delighted to find that there is a soft play area right beside the restaurant sitting area. We decided upon the scones and what a delight they were. Lovely texture and really tasty. Tea for 2 with these made for a nice refreshment break.
