Wok's Crackin in St. Helens

Food is awfull chips are disgusting suimui awfull all cold spring rolls cold soggy same as chips awfull noodles taste funny don't order from here it's terrible 🤢🤢🤢🤢

I called into the shop about an hour ago, Monday 11 September for a bag of chips. One of the ladies was about to ring in the sale when the other lady stopped her, saying they couldn't sell me a bag of chips on its own, I'd have to order something else too. She muttered something to the effect that it was 'because of the chippy up the road', nodding her head in the vague direction of Crispy Cod and Jade Garden. Ive no idea what this meant but I'm not going to be forced to buy food I don't want. Wouldn't mind but I've used the business fairly regularly but not anymore. At the time of writing and to the best of my knowledge, this is the only local chippy with such a rule. Grasping does not even cover it, and if this is repeated hundreds of times a year, its all lost income. They are not a patch on the business they replaced, The Sunflower

Very bland food, the only thing we could taste was salt. Wouldn’t recommend or re visit. Quick service but other than that not really worth it.

We ordered food and after a long,long wait it arrived. Absolutely rubbish food. Not what we ordered. Salt and pepper ribs are just tiny pieces of meat. Garbage’s. Do not order from these. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Phoned them but they really not interested. Try Temptation house. Wonderful.

Super helpful and friendly staff. All couldn't do enough for you. Even the deluvery driver offered to help jump start van when he arrived with food. Great tofu dishes and offer gluten free options too. Food fresh and crunchy vegetables too! Really done a great turn around over the past several months. The older reviews are irrelevant, trust me!

Not been here for some time due to moving out of the area, but usually food is very good. Found salt and pepper chips full of salt. Prawn curry mixed with oil and very noticeable. Fried rice unfortunately looked very white with sporadic drops of egg. Chef used to be very good, so not sure if things have changed during the pandemic.

On 2 occasions ive found meat in one of the vegetarian dishes, last time was when I ordered salt n pepper tofu and there was a random piece of salt n pepper chicken in it, never again, totally unacceptable

Top food and top service. The food has always been excellent quality and the staff and delivery really good.

My mistake,waiting just 6 minutes for 2 meals 2 starters = WARM UPS! And I was correct, chop suey rolls greasy ,Curry sauce was hot cornflour sauce.frozen chips yuk .wonton soup cheapo wontons .basically if you have no taste buds your ok,otherwise zero flavour, super weak stock in the other meal .Are they frightened of chicken stock or Sesami Oil? let alone Shaoxing wine .Sorry last time here tasteless c*** for 20 quid.Should have stayed home could make less of a hash blindfolded.

I live within 3 miles of this place and only 3 items of food. The lady on the phone said it will be just over an hour, but that was OK. 3 hours later we gave up and had egg and chips. Still hasn't arrived. I will never order from here again. Ridiculous!

We ordered from here from my mother in laws birthday, I always order crispy chilli beef as that's my favourite and this place does it amazingly! The beef was nice and crispy the sauce was spicy but didn't kill me off, was a little on the sweet side but I did just put all my sauce on. Salt and pepper chips were really nice, not the best but would definitely order them again. Everyone's meals were top notch as well, all 7 of us were absolutely made up. Even though I love 10 miles away I'll be driving to get from them again for my birthday next week! In short best Chinese I've had in years! Can't wait to go again

ordered food told us was busy and would be about half hour/45 mon and they were spot on. No ringing asking where food was etc. food arrived hot and tasty. a little pricey but Chinese can be. I would deffo recommend for a takeaway 👍

I live close to this place so thought I'd try it. Bad move. Tried order by phone, had to go in eventually. Showed the guy 34! unanswered calls, wasnt interested and claimed phone was down. As he took my order, a member of staff answered the phone! Food was predominantly salty and very disappointing. Steer clear

Had food from here a few times but each time there has been an issue. Not very hot Dry Very salty Actually felt nauseous last couple of times Wouldn't chance it if was going somewhere the day after

Called for meals after arriving home late, was pleasantly surprised by good menu, quick & efficient service, the noodle & rice dishes where very good & well recommended.

Worst food I have ever had in will never order from here again and i suggest everyone else stays away too

We have ordered from here many times and always found the food enjoyable but not tonight! Ordered shredded chicken (soggy!) in a sauce that can only be described as pink water and shredded beef which was very soggy and tasteless! The crispy duck was vile, soggy and very fatty not crispy at all. The chips tasted like they had been reheated and was sweating in the carton so alot of water in the bottom. All in all we were left with hungry bellies and £25 worse off. Will never order again.

We have had takeaways from here on quite a few occasions ... we decided to order one for valentines, we did wait a little longer than initially told, but other than that the food was hot on delivery and very tasty, really enjoyed it, will order from here again. The Won Ton. Soup is a definite recommendation.

We have been looking for a good Chinese takeaway after the one we preferred shut down in Wigan. Woks Crackin has beaten our favourite by a long shot. We have been there on a number of occasions now and not been disappointed by any dish we have had. I would definitely recommend the chicken and cashew nuts, chicken in satay sauce, chicken sweet corn soup, sweet sour chicken, chicken chow mien, beef in black bean sauce and the small spring rolls are delicious. Good value for money and not expensive for such good food

The food us cooked fresh to order so can incur a longer delivery time. Iv always fond the food to be fresh, well prepared and tasty. My smallest niggle is the length of delivery time and they can some times fail to to you of any delays. We order here regularly and will continue.

Had a few takeaways from here. Staff always friendly and food is good. Nice variety and they do great tofu too!

I have been to this takeaway on 3 occasions now, each time I said I wasn’t going to return. However...I deceived to ‘give it another chance’, and my third visit is now my last. Firstly, the positives. The mixed combo starter is pretty nice indeed, this is the only item on the menu I can recommend. The main meals from Wok’s Cracking leave a lot to be desired for, tasteless, bland and confused. Every main course we have ordered has been thrown away half eaten. Last week I got the mixed Kung Po, wow..it was artificial in taste, really chemically and more inline with something from a jar or a frozen ready-meal. Do NOT order this dish! The egg fried rice is also rather peculiar, it’s yellow in colour, slightly mushy in texture and over salted..I have never encountered anything like it. I have also had the salt and pepper chicken pieces, they tasted as if they had been tossed in wok after cooking that was on far too hot, they carried an unpleasant smokey fragrance. All in all, this is a cheap priced Chinese takeaway and the end results are cheap but not so cheerful. I think too many corners have been cut and unfortunately it’s blatantly obvious when you sit down to eat your meal. There are better Chinese takeaways in Haydock, proceed with caution.

Not the best Chinese I have ever tasted. Short on taste,service was pretty ordinary and the person behind the counter needs lessons in customer service.

Ordered £30 of food for the 1st time. WONT BE DOING IT AGAIN!!! The fried rice was a solid mass of cold crap, sweet and sour horrible and the soup was just thick gloop. Plus it was cold. I will not be using this chinese takeaway again.

Have ordered a couple of times and the food has been good but last time the chicken and sweetcorn soup was awful and the salt and pepper chicken tasteless. The sweet and sour chicken and Chow Main was nice though.

We tried Wok's Crackin for the first time and it was great value, fresh, tasty and service was super quick. Wok's Crackin will now be our number 1 Chinese to eat from in St Helens.

Decent take away. Fast delivery. Loved the cheese rolls and chicken satay. Will definitely order again

Ordered on line & whilst food was slightly delayed it was worth the wait, very good menu but beware asking for delivery if hungry arrange collection. Can well recommend.

Had 3 meals so far from here. First class food, and very punctual on delivery. All in all. A good service, from both Wok's Cracken, and Just Eats.

Ordered take-away from here twice, both times food was great and nicely presented and delivery was bang on time

This place was soooo good when it opened but sadly meal standards are slipping. Not much meat etc in box meals and filled up with rice and far too salty. Delivery time and customer service was brill. Weve been using this place since they opened. But sadly qualitiy is slipping. Such a shame. X

Telephone order always say 45minutes & arrives within this time or a lot sooner! Gorgeous takeaway-not like the usual greasy Chinese takeaways! You don't mingin' after eating it!

Ordered food at 6:25pm via Just Eat - expected delivery was advised at 7:15pm, after waiting over an hour and a quarter for the food to arrive, I decided to make a call to the Take-away to complain that my food had not been delivered despite the order status on Just Eat changing to 'Delivered'. When I told the call handler that my order hadn't arrived he shouted back to the delivery driver to which she said she had delivered the food to the correct address and a woman answered the door and gave her the correct cash.

Only opend this year love it the food is always hot and tasty friendly family run I have had two meals delivered to my home very fast good selection of food. Well recommended.

Wouldn't choose anywhere else always hot tasty food and delivered well with estimated time.seriously the best around

Simply had to write a review on this new takeaway which has been long awaited in the Haydock/ Ashton area .

Ordered from here a few times since the opening and everytime our food has been piping hot and you get a lot for your money. They say 45 minute delivery but it's always at your door within half an hour. Great food, high standard.

Visited on opening night at 5.30pm , placed the order only to find out at 6.30 after asking where the meals were , that the food hadn't even been started yet , complained that we had been waiting but the Man behind the till decided to argue over how long we had waited ... Not very good impression for a first night , I understand teething troubles but they clearly were not at all organised , after a few words , money was refunded and we left foodless ,with no intention of returning .....
