Had Spare Ribs in Peking sauce,,I'm fuming & if I could would of returned them. Old n dated probably been sat in fridge cooked for a week!, rock hard & tried to disguise it with the rankest of sauces!!. I wouldn't feed them my dog, up here for the night visiting family!.. Honestly say worse thing I've ever been served from a takeaway!. You can see I've picked at it as I was starving but bloody hell!..

As already mentioned by others, this in my opinion is the best Chinese take away in Southport. We love our chinese food and struggle to find decent food thats not packed with MSG and gloopy sauces, but Woks Cooking is great every time. Bargain is the dinner boxes, feeds two people. Chowmein is great, as is the Wonton soup, Wartap chicken, crispy duck pancakes, salt and pepper ribs, and many other things we've tried here.

Re the good reputation of the take away decided to try it this week / the spare ribs were in like a gravy thin sauce and poor quality ribs with two knuckle portions and then two types of fried rice very bland and very little content .The quantities were good but the quality very poor . We must have picked a bad night ?

I have been using this Chinese takeaway ( and chip shop) for the last 10 years plus now, and I have never been disappointed yet. They have a great number of meals to chose. I enjoy the Chicken Mappo meals while my wife likes the chow mein and spicy crispy chicken wings. I can't understand why there are no more reviews on this site I live near Hesketh Park about 5 minutes away by car. If you haven't tried Woks Cooking yet you won't be disappointed. It's a Peking and Cantonese takeaway. Plus fish and chips etc.

I visited this restaurant in early December with my friend, were were after a relaxing few hours and a great restaurant experience not had chinese for a while. When we entered the restaurant we noticed how cold the temperature was, it was only 6pm so we thought maybe but hadn't been open long. We ordered a beer each from the waitress and then very soon after was asked 3 times if we were Ready to order , a bit pressured we thought. Also the wine list had disappeared from the table and had to ask twice for it. We ordered our banquet and awaited our soup, this was tasteless, iv never had to add salt to chicken & Sweetcorn soup! Our red wine arrived and it was freezing cold! I mentioned this to the waitress and she said "well it's not been in the fridge". Our combination course of ribs, spring rolls and seaweed was really nice but the mains were not, tough pork balls and chewy chicken. Untill we asked for a break the meal was very rushed. We didn't enjoy the experience and won't be returning.

Me and my partner come here every couple of weeks or when we can and the food is delicious we go for the all you can eat buffet which is £17.50 each. My partner loves the duck with pancakes and I like the vermicelli with cheese and chicken rolls with the chicken balls there is plenty to use from. There is also an ice cream station which is nice and it is by far worth the money, the staff are very nice and helpful nothing is a problem for them very attentive they have recognised that me and my partner are regulars give this a try you will not be disappointed.
