Two hours for delivery and wrong details on the order when it arrived. No answer on the phone whatsoever, go elsewhere!

Disappointingly bland. Ordered Chicken Chow Mein, bbq spare ribs, beef satay, pancake roll and mini vegetable rolls. All of the food was well cooked, however it was so incredibly BLAND. Satay is peanut based , however there was zero evidence of any peanut in the beef satay. It was a very bland beef dish that gave no hint as to what it actually was. The same with the chow mein, well cooked but a very boring dish that tasted of nothing much. The ribs were slightly dry, but again, extremely underwhelming. I was looking forward to this as I’d seen it recommended. Won’t be returning.

Ordered bbq ribs, chicken chow mein, beef satay, pancake rolls, mini spring rolls. The food was well cooked, however it was very, very bland. The beef satay had zero taste of satay, not sure what they thought it was, but satay it was not. The chow mein was extremely bland. The ribs were just a tiny bit on the dry side but also just bland.

We were extremely disappointed in the quality of food last night 1/08/2024 it was nothing like we've had in previous years when we have been down on holiday £30 and hardly touched any . Delivery was swift but food was extremely poor

We had Chinese delivery! The chips weren’t cooked the special fried rice looked like they were using boiled rice and just added stuff to it but much in it to be honest ! The BBQ sauce didn’t taste anything like bbq it was more like gravy and wasn’t mixed properly the meat on top or the specials was really hard and chewy really surprised at this as it’s never been like this before we spent £32 sorry to say but it was awful

Recently moved to the area and fancied a Chinese takeaway. Wok's Cook-in did not disappoint, it's probably the best takeaway I have had. Delivery was within 30 minutes. Food was piping hot and the portions were substantial

So it dinner time and I ask my kids wat they wanted and they ask for a Chinese so I ordered from wok cookin and I have to say even though the food good but waiting 2 hours for delivery is not right especially when I ordered at 5 15 and they have only been open 15 minutes I was told it will be a hour to come but I no that it can take up to 90 min if busy when called a hour and 20 min later to see where it was was told it just leaves and will be here in 10 Min wat about right from where the shop is to where I was 30 min later and still not here so call up again and put in a complain but they did not care no sorry nothing finally food arrived 2 hour over I put the order in will not be ordering from them

Well normally I would say these guys are great but tonight January the 8th I decided to get food delivered for when I'm home I said no prawns so when I got home i open my food and discovered they put prawns In which I can't eat it's now far to late to order anywhere else really upset by this I been waiting all day for this food and was let down

Ordered online, so simple to do. The food arrived within the hour, friendly delivery driver, the food was excellent 10 out of 10. Not greasy like most Chinese's, will be definitely ordering again. My chosen Chinese 🇨🇳

First time trying tonight. Service was brilliant, great atmosphere but the food was poor. The mini vegetarian spring rolls were hard with not much filling, the special curry was very dry, the duck in plum sauce was tough and overcooked, the sauce watery and sour, and the salt and pepper chips lacked flavour. Such a shame as the staff were great. But there are definitely better Chinese’s in Torquay.

Just had a family take away and the salt and pepper chicken was shockingly bad. A family member has been vomiting since eating it.

Absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of the staff. My autistic daughter wanted plain fried rice with peas (sensory food issues) and not only were the staff laughing and mocking it in the back but the guy who looked like the owner asked the front guy 'do they actually want any veg?' with an angry look on his face and sarcastic tone right in front of me! It's not your business what my daughter eats and I've never met such an ignorant and brazenly rude business. Never coming back, do better!

We had a takeaway from Wok’s cook-in whilst staying at Torquay holiday park. We ordered and paid online, the takeaway was delivered straight to our caravan. The food was fresh, tasty, absolutely delicious and the best Chinese takeaway we have ever had! Our only disappointment is that it is far away from home! (Free spring rolls for orders over £25 was a nice bonus)

Stayed at Torquay holiday park and went online for delivery. It was delivered to caravan door within 40 minutes and my god it was fantastic, everything freshly cooked and very tasty really large portions and they also put spring rolls and fortune cookies in bag. Will definitely have again if we come back to the area

This place is our absolute go to for a Chinese takeaway. As I have a gluten allergy we find it quite difficult to find takeaway places that you can trust, with a good range of gluten free dishes, however Wok’s Cook-In has so many for you to chose from. All these dishes are also clearly marked up on the menu meaning you don’t have to have the awkward and irritating conversation with the restaurant staff asking what you can and can’t have. My non-coeliac partner also loves the food here, so definitely would recommend to anybody looking for a lush gluten free Chinese that isn’t going to ‘gluten’ you, that the rest of your family can also enjoy.

Tasty and well cooked food, fast service. Chow main could have little more veg variation in it, as was very heavy on mushrooms and onion.

I had heard great things from friends. So decided as I was in Torquay to order a delivery. The young lady was polite and efficient, I asked if they did Barbeque spare ribs. She asked me to hold while she checked, she then said that they did. I ordered Singapore chow mein, bbq spare ribs and curry sauce. Food was delivered hot. The ribs were awful, swimming in a black yukky tasting sauce that was definitely not bbq. I could not eat them,

Went to this takeaway for the first time this evening. Portion sizes to be honest are not large and they aren't small. I had a a special curry and portion was average size but my wife had a sweet and sour chicken balls which was a large portion size. Boiled and egg fried rice were standard sizes. Quality off the food was very good and overall gave good value for money. I am not in the area for long but if I was, I would return. Service was good, with a smile, and it was quick with only a 5-10 minute wait so I felt this was excellent overall.

Delicious food. I was recommended this wonderful place, it was everything and more then I expected. Speaking to the polite team members, they love their job and one gentleman has been there for 30 years. We did try most dishes that they have to offer, we ordered for 5 people and it was all lovely. We had managed to eat all of it. Thank you so much and keep up cooking this beautiful food.

Amazing Chinese, my favourite takeaway in a long time! What made it amazing was that they catered to my gluten free requirements and everything was served in a separate bag. Food was ready within 20 minutes for collection and was piping hot!!

Fantastic food, reliable delivery. We asked for a Singapore chow mein extra hot (like trying to kill me hot!) and they delivered - LOTS of extra fresh chillies, it was delicious. It’s a sign of a good and generous takeaway when they accurately follow additional requests like that. Thank you!

I'm sorry, I had high expectations of my meal from Wok's after reading the reviews. Ordered a king prawn chow mein, but it was the worst I had ever tasted. Noodles,prawns,mushrooms all cooked in water! No sauce what so ever. Bland,tasteless just couldn't eat it. Pancake roll red in colour inside, ' mushy' taste to it. Very disappointed. Not much to ask for a little flavour with meal I feel.

Amazing Chinese, best one we’ve had in a long time, we highly recommend. We’ve left the Chinese menu/leaflet at our holiday home for other people to enjoy this amazing takeaway.

It takes me an hour round trip to get here, and I'll continue visiting because its my favourite, and can feed me with my awkward dietary requirements. Very tasty food, very lovely staff!

Have used this takeaway for a very long time .went in to order a takeaway this evening . Very disappointed with the food . Soup wasn't fresh ,special fried rice was soggy ,mushy .chips not great either .

Very tasty and reasonably priced Chinese take away..quite large portions..so beware leftovers..temptations are to order way too much.We ordered set meal for 2 and could have fed at least 3 adults with it..😁

We are currently on holiday in Torquay and ordered a take away to be delivered for our last night. The food was excellent, generous portions, lovely and hot, delivered in good time and by a nice friendly delivery person.

We order here often as food is AMAZING , service to match. AND most dishes including battered food can be made gluten free. It's great quality gf Chinese too!! I can absolutely see why people travel from all over the country for this food ! After a bad day today, Dave cheered us up with a surprise mini bottle of prosecco. Delivered within 20mins too!! Always a gentleman, great attention to detail, we feel part of the family, David melted our hearts and made everything just a little bit better today . Thanks for dinner David 😊

Unfortunately unable to order on telephone so had to sit and wait 20 minutes whilst being cooked. Food however was worth waiting for.

Ordered at 1800 delivered at 1817 food was over cooked and recooked couldn’t eat it not enjoyable won’t be ordering from here again !

My wife ordered a meal for the pair of us on Sunday evening 08/01/23 for delivery. We were told it would be with us within the hour 1 1/2 hours later she phoned (took 15 minutes to answer) to see what was going on to be told they thought it had gone out but was still sat on the side. Finally the meal arrived roughly 2 hours after the order was placed. Quite a bit of the food wdmtwgm the bin not at all impressed !! I'll vote with my feet on this one and go elsewhere.

I have been having food from here for years, sadly it has gone downhill, I have had a few meals now that I have been really disappointed with. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, that it may just have been an off night. Sadly this was not the case. The food that I have had was bland, overcooked the sauce was like just thickened water tasteless.shame it used to be so good.it is also quite expensive compared to some other places. Sadly I will not be going there again.

Absolutely awful - my fiancé and I ordered from here as are usual Chinese was shut - crispy beef was inedible I literally could not chew it down and it was most definitely not crispy as advertised- chicken chow main was just horrendous skimpy bits of chicken ( obviously cut to save on chicken) and the wrong chow mien noodles used with absolutely no flavour ( my fiancé didn’t finish it it was so bad) - the barbecue ribs oh my god it didn’t feel safe to eat so flavourless but a really dark sauce tasting nothing like barbecue ( we were literally scratching our heads wondering how anyone could get a barbecue sauce so wrong !) I could of just bought a jar from the supermarket and it would have been 100 times better than the one used - it’s almost like whoever is cooking has never eaten Chinese food before , very weird. Salt and pepper chips were not correct either - the only thing that was right was the tub of curry sauce - this is fraud - they need to get an authentic Chinese chef or close shop - I’ve never had such a disgusting 🤮 meal. I’m very annoyed as we spend over £30 for this rubbish.

Ordered delivery and after waiting for nearly 2 hours the chips were soggy and no spice to them at all, chicken balls were tough with a mixture of soggy and barely crunchy batter and the crispy beef was lacking in flavour and crispiness. Not one to complain normally but the best part of the takeaway was the fortune cookies. Also got the drinks wrong.

The app prevented us from paying online. They wouldn't pick up phone. Feels like a scam.

Reasonable quality food but wasn't cheap!

This place is very clued up on cross combination for coeliacs, immediately you order something if you ask for GF they will say, oh that has gluten so we will use this instead. Different prep and packing areas. Most of the menu is GF and some things can be adapted. They are so on the ball with it, it's one thing my family really missed at diagnosis. Its a mecca for coeliacs.the food is eally lovely and fresh too. I never get that thirsty and wired feeling I often got from other places with Chinese food. I have always attributed this to MSG, but not sure. You can even gave the sweet and sour balls and crispy chilli beef!

An excellent meal! I asked the owner / chap at the counter if he could recreate a meal for me that is not usually on Chinese menus… it was spot on! I loved it! The other meals (beef in black bean) were also delicious.

We were on holiday nearby and opted for this place due to its close proximity. The food did not disappoint, and I thoroughly recommend it. I’d go as far as saying it was one of the nicest Chinese takeaways I’ve had in a very long time.

First visit here after many years. It use to be superb. It's now the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever been to. No flavour at all. No authentic Chinese taste. Massive bag of dry tasteless chips too. Cut back on the chips and start seasoning...

Before the phone is answered there is an announcement that due to the cost of living there has been a price increase. I get this however the food standards have dropped. The portion sizes are less and the food didn't taste great either 😕 won't...

Food was lovely but we Googled the menu and chose the £23 option plus 2 spring rolls at £3.10. They'd never heard of the set meal for two but to be fair compromised although charged me £38! I queried this upon picking up the food....

Had the most excellent family meal last night from Woks Cook-In. Crispy shredded beef, Chicken Chow Mein & Chicken and sweet corn soup 🍜 all of the very best quality. Would highly recommend

Great Chinese, been eating from here for about 15 yrs, dry chow mein is excellent which I normally have, I ordered some bbq ribs lastnight aswell but they were a bit of a let down, they tasted as if they were cooked long before my order and just warmed up however a previous order of ribs were delicious. Hope I don't experience that again from such a good place.

Enjoyed two takeaways and about to order another. Authentic taste? Yes absolutely! Would not go anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Great selection to choose from, and easy to book delivery on line. Food was fantastic and the service was very good - even identifying a duplication of my order and emailing me to explain that it was being rectified before I had even noticed.

Ordered beef in ginger. Beef was soggy and slimy. Tasted like gravy with bits of ginger. Absolutely dreadful, couldn’t eat it.

- Chow mein tasted like water - Special chow mein had sauce but still tasted like nothing - Chicken curry was ok - Salt and pepper ribs were great Sorry guys I expected more 🤷🏼‍♂️

The best Chinese restaurant in Torbay! Hands down, the best takeaway Chinese I have had. The chicken balls were crisp, fresh and tender. The food is high quality and it’s such a reasonable price.

First time using this Chinese. Used many of them over the years and can definitely say this is my new local Chinese. Pricing is really good and friendly staff.

I am currently on an English holiday in Torquay and after a long hard days travelling, we didn’t want to cook that night. We decided to get a Chinese as it had been a while and we were hungry. There was a 90 minute wait for delivery at around 19:45 (Monday evening) and only a 25 minute wait for collection. As we were only 1.5 miles away, we decided to collect. I ordered the following: Beef with mushrooms, chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, salt and pepper chicken (very spicy), a can of coke and were given a free portion of prawn crackers and beef spring rolls. This cost around £29 and was enough to feed 4 people. I can’t fault them and found their dinner really nice and would definitely order again if I was staying here longer.

I thought I'd treat myself and my family to a Chinese meal as I used to enjoy the food but I live in Newton Abbot so having them deliver isn't a option. I tried ringing as I left work at 5pm to order and received a message not open yet and then cut off.I decided to pop in on the way home and order in the shop instead unfortunately that isn't allowed anymore due to covid.I was told I would have to go outside the door and ring my order through (while standing at the door looking at them obviously through the window).But I would be allowed to go in and collect it so not really understanding the logic.I really don't know why they can't do like all other takeaway shops and allow one in at at time to order and wait outside, it seems utterly ridiculous that you can't go in and order but you can to collect especially as it looks like they are behind a solid wall of Perspex.

I ordered delivery for the first time.after watching the video on their website . It’s a family run business and since 1985 it was delicious food was hot and fresh and generous portions just enough I would highly recommend . I have to say probably the best meal I’ve had this year ...the service from the staff is second to none. Thank you Five star rating
