The best Chinese takeaway in Paignton.

Ordered a takeaway and the food was awful. Looks like they had reheated our food from food made the night before. the pancake rolls, we threw in the bin and the curry was like cold gravy and solid.

Excellent service,prompt delivery and excellent staff.We won't go elsewhere.

We have lived in Paignton for 20 years, this was the first Chinese takeaway we tried, the food is delicious and portions always generous, and they have never failed us. Thank you Goldensands, here’s to another 20 years! Our compliments to the chef always.

We went to get a takeaway on Sunday, 10 minutes before closing time. The man couldn't have been more polite and lovely and knocked up the most perfect meals with no complaint really quickly. Beautiful, fresh, delicious food and really friendly service. What a star!!! Thank you

The food is not as good as in the past. Still friendly and efficient service.

Not allot of spaces for disabled. But lovely place, great for dogs, lovely side of torbay.

Used to be the best not any more last night had water thin sauces and only 4 bits of duck in the portion , all meals now filled with veg to make it look bigger , disgusting especially for the price , will not go back there again.

In a holiday home on Preston front and fortunately this was the nearest takeaway otherwise we may not have “discovered” it. Wonderful food , ready quickly and very reasonably priced You’re so lucky if you live locally👍🏻

Just had another delivery from here and as always on time hot and superb, the staff are always friendly and helpful, I have deleted all the other delivery phone numbers from my phone we just do not need or want to go elsewhere.

Me and my partner Gary often purchase food from golden sands, I must say their food is delicious! the staff are always pleasent and helpful as we like to try new things and the lady on the phone often recommends things for us to try. The lady who answers the phone is very delightful, she always asks how we are. I have to recommend the chicken balls or beef chow mein in sauce. It is unfortunate that the card machine is broken but im sure once covid restrictions have eased they will get a chance to fix it.

Our curry from this takeaway in Paignton was awful. The curry sauce I tapped in the sink, it was too thin like water and tasted extremely sweet. Only just used this takeaway after a problem a couple of years ago. I had a beef curry, a piece of beef looked as though it had been thoroughly chewed then spat back in, it looked disgusting. We used to buy meals every week from this takeaway but would definitely not be doing so again. We need to report this takeaway so they can’t do this again.

Phoned up Golden Sands for a delivery, firstly they no longer take card payment which would normally be a problem but in this instance I has some cash so ordered the food. Chicken balls were okay as was the egg fried rice but the Aromatic Duck can only be described as cat food. It had been chopped into tiny little pieces and had about as much flavor as water. This was obviously an old piece of duck that they chopped into tiny pieces to hide this fact. So I phone the shop to complain and was told that they were extremely busy, when I said this wasn't an excuse and if this was the standard of food we wouldn't use them again the reply was no problem we will block your number. I wasn't aggressive in any way and I told them I wasn't interested in credit or a refund I just wanted them to know and this is the way they behave. No problem I will take my business elsewhere. BTW why do you think they don't take cards, I have an idea but I will leave you to work that one out.

Really lovely food, nice friendly staff. Definitely better than other Chinese takeaways we've tried. Will be ordering again.

One of the best chinese takeaway ' s ive ever experienced. Fabulous food and good quality. Great phone service and food is delivered quickly and hot. Very reasonably priced as well. Would recommend to locals and visitors alike.

Absolutely revolting, the two items I ordered tasted worse than a £1 microwave meal. The cheapest, nastiest ingredients possible are clearly being bought in to make this tasteless "food". I will never be returning here, its such a shame as the previous owners were fantastic and actually cared about the food they served.

Possibly the best chinese on the planet. We are on holiday from worcester. Visited last year, came again this. The staff remembered us and food is fresh, hot, full of flavour and the best quality ingredients.

We haven't bothered with a Chinese take away for a while as those we tried from different places in Paignton, were all very samey and tasted mass produced, but really fancied one a couple of months ago and tried Golden Sands. Really nice, tasty and well prepared. Have had couple of times since, with same view.

Since my previous review the staff have changed. The food is still not bad and the staff are friendly - but it is not the same. Such a shame. We will order when we can from Lucky Boat in Brixham, which is where the staff have gone.

They never answer the phone and when busy they refuse to deliver to Torquay as a loyal customer who has spent £hundreds of pounds here I will never give them another penny also very high prices and food quality has got worse avoid

We use this takeaway for the delivery service which costs an additional £1 Always piping hot, nearly always the same guy who delivers who is always very polite. Food excellent, always on time if not before 9 times out of ten Would highly recommend

My second favourite Chinese takeout for Torbay. First being the one a little further up the road (The Ho MEI). The Golden Sands still makes for a good alternative if others are shut. The portion sizes are fair, the flavours are varied, food is often piping hot when I arrive home with it. The prices are very competitive. My one criticism is that I wish they would incorporate more meat than veg in meat dishes. It is something most do to stretch stock and is pretty annoying I think most would agree. It is sometimes a fair wait for food, which I do not mind (if good). Otherwise, some delicious Chinese flavours to be found here. Very average but recommended.

No lie I have worked all around the country and I eat way too much takeaway thanks to my job. This Chinese is a rare find as the meat is actually quality and not chewy or cheap. Everything is so tasty not much salt at all and the staff even the delivery drivers are all so happy and pleasant. Price wise is ok. My ONLY complaint is they won’t go on JustEat but maybe that’s a good thing. I highly recommend this place try the chicken balls.

Absolutely disgusted with the quality of customer service. I ordered vegetarian spring rolls as my wife is vegetarian, when I got the takeaway home my wife inspected them, as she always does and found they contained some form of meat, therefore were not vegetarian. Additionally I ordered curry sauce and was provided with a very watery sweet and sour sauce instead. Upon complaining to the establishment on my return home to try to rectify the situation the manager was abusive and entirely unhelpful and did not care whatsoever. Avoid avoid avoid

Great little takeaway. Ordered food and ready when we collected it. Food of great quality and not too salty like some takeaways. Very reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff when helping you to choose. Highly recommend.

Called in here last night for my tea. Found it to be clean and the staff friendly. The food could have however could have been cooked in two different places. I ordered the hot and sour soup which to my palate was neither hot (spicy) or sour and was really rather bland and disappointing. My main course however a special fried rice was lovely. Packed with flavours and came with a sauce rather than been a dry dish as is often the case. The meat was also beautifully cooked. It just goes to show very often it's what you order not where you order. Was ok value for money and worth a punt.

Mi primera experiencia de comida china estaba en mis días de estudiante. Desde entonces he vivido en 8 lugares diferentes y buscamos comida china tan bueno como lo recordaba. Esperé 40 años para llevar esta buena. El servicio es rápido y amable, y hay algunas buenas ofertas de menú está disponible en línea. Yo no tengo nada que no me gustó - sopa caliente y amarga, miel costillas a la barbacoa, langostinos en salsa de po, pelotas de kung dulce y amarga (estas son realmente buenas en el Golden Sands después de tantas experiencias decepcionantes) - sólo algunos de los elementos que deberá pedir de nuevo!

Realmente precioso para llevar en Preston/Paignton. . Mi amigo y siempre me dan china desde aquí. . . Es mejor que muchos de los lugares en Paignton y el servicio siempre es cortés y ahora nos recuerda y tienen tiempo para charlar un rápido antes de recoger nuestra orden, gente encantadora y buena comida!

Gran valor para llevar en Preston/Paignton. Pedidos llamó y lista en 15 minutos. También hace las entregas. Pedimos una variedad de platos, que todos eran buenos y bien hecho. Carne crujiente con frío era excelente, así como los diferentes platos de pollo que pedimos. Cena para 4 vino a menos de 25 libras (julio de 2016).

Ate as a family of four. Dishes were superbly cooked and arrived in good time. We will definitely use them again as the chow mein was gorgeous!

Sólo pedimos a llevar y ¡dios mío! es el mejor llevar que he tenido! Tuve dulce y amargo cerdo pelotas, huevo frito arroz y patatas fritas y Chow mein y es increíblemente agradable!!! Aparte de no conseguir mi salsa curry todo es genial!!! Lo recomiendo a la gente!! ¡Simplemente excepcional!
