Oriental Touch in Torbay

Went for buffet lunch, got there late 2 p.m. closed 3 p.m. food very good, great choice, couple of things could have been hotter that's why it's a 4 star review, staff very friendly and helpful, great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing buffet. Yes you have to pay up front and I understand why. Lots of choice. Deserts are lovely. Especially try the apple fritters

Lady at the front was very rude did not stop looking over at us too felt very uncomfortable, food was okay but not much to choose from drinks had no taste to it when we asked for a jug of water it was slammed down on the bar wont be returning

Try and go here every time we’re in Torquay, food has always been good and tasty and becuase the place is so popular and busy the food is always being cooked fresh so not sitting around for long before it’s refilled. There are plenty of staff who are friendly but as it’s a buffet you just up and help yourself; there plenty of choice of starters, mains and a few deserts if you have room.

Visited Thursday at 1.30 pm very disappointing the food was barely warm. Couldn't eat the soup. Good selection of food and desserts just a shame none of it was hot

A special treat for a forthcoming birthday with my very best of friends. Will visit there again as soon as possible. The food is exceptional.

Went for lunch today at this restaurant with my family, i normally enjoy the food here but todays lunch buffet just seems like some leftover food from yesterday! it didnt seem like fresh even though we were there from 12 which is their opening time. Quite disappointed.

Would've been 5 star if it wasn't for the sheer chaos that was occurring due to the amount of people trying to get in! I made a booking but was still made to line up with the walk ins which was approx 30 people long - Peak time, Saturday 6pm. After challenging this reasoning they eventually seated us. I would've expected bookings taken precedence? Other than that. The food was lovely, hot and replenished quickly. Well worth the original upheaval I just may come back midweek!

Cheap and cheerful Chinese Restaurant. Good variety of dishes available, and quality tasty food. Children enjoyed it there too.

So today we decided to visit this buffet restaurant and have heard good reviews about it. I must admit, we were never disappointed having lunch here. They have their own free parking which is obviously a plus. The place is clean and the food is decent. The taste was good for the price I must admit and there were loads of people as well who went there to have lunch. They also have soups and desserts for no extra cost. You pay for your buffet meal for only £10 I think and the drink is separately charged. Overall, it was worth the drive since we were from Exeter.

As a family of four, we dined at this Chinese restaurant tonight, and it was nothing short of exceptional! Every dish was not only packed with flavor but also served hot and to an incredibly high standard. The quality of the food was impeccable, and you could tell that every detail was thoughtfully prepared. The organization of the restaurant was flawless, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. On top of that, the staff were attentive and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine!

We always eat here every time we're in Torquay. We love Chinese, especially buffet where we can eat as much of what we want. The staff have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food is beautifully hot and plentiful and the number of dishes is amazing. I would highly recommend Oriental Touch.

Was happy with the food and good value for money

Where else can you help yourself to as much quality Chinese food as you like with such a great choice? Staff are friendly and helpful and if they've run out of something they'll go and cook more to order.

We visited here on a Thursday evening. It was surprising busy but, we still managed to get a table and take our pushchair in. My only gripe is the tables are so packed in that some tables you have to squeeze by other diners to get to the buffet. That said, food was good, hot and replenished often.

Food was all great except the crab claws, found a shell inside of it. I went there Friday, 6th September 2024. Was not happy I found shell in my food. Not good hygiene and very dangerous

Ok... Not great variety, it's just meat meat meat. More vegetables would be nice. Some tofu dishes and some steamed rice maybe?

UNSAFE! The staff came across like they were judging you for even being there because it was so bad. They were also ignoring the many screaming children running around putting their hands in the buffet food. Cold food, chaotic experience and multiple things that could actually HARM PEOPLE! My wife is a Chef and she said there are multiple things that could be harmful, like the unrefrigerated profiteroles because of the warmed up cream. Not surprised to have just found reviews mentioning food poisoning after having eaten there. This place will definitely get shut down as soon as EHO get the report. I If there’s no other option than to go here, just do yourself a favour and go hungry for the night.

AVOID. My guess is that the reason they take your money before they even sit you at a table is so it’s somewhat more difficult for when you try to tell them the food isn’t worth what was just paid. No such thing as customer service, not a nice vibe, cold food, awful atmosphere… It was more like feeding time at the zoo.

Been going for years, best place ever

We went as a family group of 9. The buffet is we found quite limited. There is nothing wrong with the food, just a lot of beige.... not much in the way of vegetables. Good selection of desserts. For the money, it's not bad, but not great. Wouldn't bother again.

What a great experience from start to finish with a large dining area we was sited quickly even tho place was nearly full. Once seated we went up to grab our 1st plate and there was a nice variety to choose from and all food was hot. There was also dessert to grab at the end staff were friendly and quick to clean ur old plates spot on clean place too thanks

The food was cold not even warm the drinks are flat and it was a very disappointing visit

We went whilst here on holiday as we fancied a Chinese, their was plenty of food choices for starters. Mains and deserts, clientele a bit rough and ready but decent food for £16.95 each and it was clean

Another great visit to this restaurant. Food was lovely, and although the staff had at least 3 large groups in for birthday parties, they still kept up with great service, keeping everything clean, food stocked up and bar service. Excellent!

Looks like they have had a recent refurbished. Nice new seats, toilets, tables etc. the food is very tasty and hot. Free parking on site. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great place to try new items. We eat Chinese food regularly, and there is plenty of choice, and it is very good quality. We would return again and recommend

Just been to our first Chinese buffet and what an experience this place is. Very busy, felt like a canteen full of Chinese food. So many people on a Saturday night we couldn’t get parked in their large car park. But the value is astonishing! Clearly not high quality but good enough to feed a hungry family for a great price, with unlimited visits to the food trollies. Theres loads to choose from snd its piping hot and constantly filled up. The staff are quick to clear your empty plates, then off you go again to the trolley for round 2,3,4 whatever! You will defo be super full after a visit here. Would rate it 6/10 so gave it 3 stars on TA

I was surprised how long the queue was at this restaurant on Saturday night, and I said I'd give it a try. I'm a fan of Asian cuisine, but I was disappointed. Food f little but mostly tasteless, do you taste the food before serving it? Try the mushrooms, the beef or the pasta which I expect to be great. It's not worth the money. Specifically, I'm not picky about food, and I eat almost anything. But I have taste 😊

Somedays I come here multiple times a week the food is so good. I could potentially go broke eating here with how addicting the food is. 5 stars

went for a family meal here not going back! the food was cold and tasted old the meat was gristley and full if bones, all 4 of us had bad stomachs and 2 of us was sick! could not get any of the staff to take another drink order and when I went up to bar staff was rude! I was really disappointed as we have been coming here since it opened. overall I think the place is very dirty iv heard now other people have been ill going here. definitely do Not recommend!

When on holidays (6 weeks twice a year) my husband and I came EVERY week but since his recent death I still go twice a week on my own ..I love this pkace ..the food choices suit my taste and if you want something without a sauce or just plain boiled rice ..ASK..they will do it for you ...nothing is too much trouble fir them

this place has gone down hill so bad now no standard of service at all food tastes old and grisly I found bones in the duck was so bad I was nearly sick not advising anyone to go there now dirty plates and glasses all over the place food on the floor! it's a dump now compared to what it was like 12 years ago.

Suddenly hungry and where better to go on a rainy day. A very large selection of food, particularly sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken... Large dessert, fruit jelly and ice cream selection and bowls of sweets 😁

Love this place and love how the owners have built it up over the years. The food is always fresh and hot. A good selection of food. Recommend you book a table at the weekend as it does get very busy. You do have to pay when you enter. Always a regular visitor here.

Not the best Chinese we've ever had.

I was a bit dubious of this place to begin with as I am with most buffet places but this place was worth it the food was yummy and the staff were constantly topping up or changing food over so it was always fresh. It was very very busy so I would recommend booking a table in advanced.

This place is epic for food. Service is slack, and the restaurant itself needs a good clean but if you're not too precious it's fab! Although someone seems to have stolen the tab in the ladies loos along with the radiator 🤣

Not sure if new owners but service was not that good , the was a woman behind the till she's the first person you see, if felt like we were a inconvenience being there no hello she asked what drinks we wanted which she repeated to us and told to go to a table, the food was as good as always ,but when the drinks came they where wrong , the waiter was miserable and clearly didn't want to be there no apology for getting our order wrong , he went away and said the women on door put then though wrong and told us they wanted another £2.30 if we wanted the correct drink , again no apology nothing we went to pay and the machine didn't work so we had to go to the door way to pay the extra leaving the food to go cold on the table , the waiter was appalling and no point did he apologise for there mistake, no staff seemed happy working there I have been visiting there since it opened many years ago , but I am not sure if I will go again , I can only think it changed owners it was alwsys fantastic there plus they have really put the prices up it was £17 on a Sunday and nearly £20 rest of the time so I may as well order a take away at that price

The Chinese buffet offers a wide variety of dishes. Some food was little dry, and it's a little pricey, but overall, it's a satisfactory snd we still left felling happy and full.

Excellent place for a cheap lunchtime feast. Plenty of choice, decent range of delicious food, staff constantly refilling trays so the food is generally hot. Visited on a damp Wednesday in April and there was hardly an empty table so word has obviously got around.

We are sure that dishes can be good and presentable but just not at the same time or moment, several dishes are not replenished and for customers wanting to experience all the dishes to sample empty containers fail to provide a great dining experience or enjoyment for all. Staff were polite and helpful unless you requested a dish to be replenished etc.

We needed to eat and chose this place - good choice. For a buffet restaurant the food was good and hot and there was a good choice. The restaurant was pleasant to eat in - quiet yet there were lots of customers.

I came here on a Thursday evening while visiting the area, arriving 15 minutes early and there were already people waiting for the doors to open! When you go in you pay in advance and order your drinks which then get brought to whichever table you choose to sit on. A large selection of various starters, main courses and also a good selection of cakes, ice cream etc for afters. All the food was lovely apart from the shredded duck for the pancakes which two of the three of us found small bits of bone in. Service was spot on and it is obviously very popular as the flow of people arriving did not stop while we were there. Total bill for three, with pints of fizzy drinks was under £60 - great value for money! Will definitely give it another try next time I am in the area.

Sorry food awful was my favourite Chinese restaurant but it’s gone downhill food cold sweet n sour chicken hard chicken. chow mein ugh chicken curry hardly any taste chicken satay used to be on a stick and hot and tender chicken bits now like bricks very disappointing no deserts apart from Swiss rolls ice cream, jelly tinned fruit And kids sweets nah not for me

Been for mother's day. Queue to be seated. No blame, no booking were taken this day so the restaurant can get more customers. Packed. I don't mind. That means fresh food topped up regularly. We always enjoy.

Don't think I will risk coming back here but hopefully the owners are aware and make sure food reheated properly or cooked properly I was the only one who had the duck and egg fried rice with meat it. Shame food was good staff was amazing just can't leave a good review due to health and safety needs to be made aware

First time here. Buffet, eat as much as you like. Lots of different dishes, excellent value. Clean, staff work very hard keeping tables clean and relaying for new customers. Can be a bit noisy and busy but overall it's a good place to eat. Will definitely go again.

came here tonight. cost just over £50. my husband had half a plate of food but only ate 2 spoon fuls off of it, as he has had throat cancer takes him a long time to eat, we offered to pay for a pot to take the food away with us. after me having a plate and him 2 mouthfuls off a plate. they refused. said they would not give it unless we ordered take away. we explained about the throat cancer and explained we would pay extra to just be able to take the half a plate of food yet denied. disgusting service. would never reccommend if you cant eat anything.

All the hot food was cold, not sure if there was a problem with their buffet server. The restaurant also was cold to sit in..could do with more central heating. Such a shame as we used to enjoy going to this place, but we will not return

We were apprehensive before coming here after reading some of the negative and inarticulate reviews. A canteen style venue offering a bottomless buffet feast. Good value but they need to update the prices on their website to reflect the recent modest increases. A wide range of choices. Good quality and flavours. Pay upfront which we would expect and makes sense. The crew can be fearsome but this restaurant is well managed. Poor quality wines on offer so we stuck with good old tap water. Piling the plates high appears undignified but more satisfying to visit the buffet little and often. A busy early Sunday evening popular with families. 🇬🇧 🇳🇿

DONT GO HERE !!! this was the absolute worst Chinese I have ever had the food was cross contaminated with peanuts and kids hands in the food gave me bad tummy squits all night the drinks were a joke unless you like a whole glass of ice and no lime in your lemon and lime the food was cold and had no taste compared to other Chinese restaurants I can’t even give it a one star we had to find our own way to the table sat down and had chairs whipped away for other tables other people around us didn’t look very happy either would definitely never go back and this has put me off buffet Chinese forever

I can’t eat much, but my Nan wanted to go. I paid £14 and ate minimal. I asked if. I could take my plate of food away to be greeted with , YOU PAY EXTRA £11 , YOU SHOULD NOT COME IF YOU CANT EAT. I tried to explain but she just went to another member of staff and spoke Chinese , looked and laughed at me, bloody joke. Won’t be going there again !
