Currently running a limited menu due to staff shortages, and looking at other reviews it appears this might have been the case for some time. The offering was just a few cakes, a couple of choices of sandwich, or quiche. The quiche was just scrambled egg with some tomato in it (no cheese, cream, milk etc) no flavour and frankly inedible. The sandwiches were bland and overpriced. 2 stars given purely because I've been before and it has been good in the past, this visit really was a 1 star though - we left most of our food. Highly recommend not to visit here until they have their full staff count back.

Visited with elderly mother in law and was worried when sign apologised for slow service due to staff shortage and we were then told there was a limited menu. Shouldn't have worried, staff were friendly and not slow. We all had the bacon and brie quiche. This was freshly baked. The lady who prepared it came out to ask how it was and we all agreed it was excellent. Only 4 stars because overall with drinks it seemed a little expensive but cannot fault quality of food or service.

Upon arrival I was greeted and seated by a member of staff by the name of Harry (handsome fella) he was very kind to my family and friends, he went to a lot of trouble of explaining half the menu to us, which foods were gluten free, which were vegan and which were vegetarian. It’s a very cosy and clean little cafe and the food was delicious, hats off to the chef Chloe. She made the best cod and chips I’ve ever had, could even say it was better than a fish and chip shop. We all had lattes to drink, which again were gorgeous, perfect temperature, tasted great, and even came with a small biscuit on the side. The prices of the cafe are what you should expect. Overall great service and amazing tasting food. The owner should be pleased to have such great staff. Will definitely be visiting again.

We popped into the cafe for lunch as we were purchasing plants. We ordered plaice with chips and peas. The fish was awful, we never knew that fish could be that thin, tasteless and dry. The peas were cold and the chips mediocre. We ordered extra hot lattes and they were just warm. What makes this more disappointing is that when the cafe was run by the old company the fish and chips were fantastic! Why change a winning recipe! Just does not make sense! The waiters although lovely but seemed a bit overwhelmed even though it was not that busy! Never again!

I had to take out a mortgage to afford a sandwich in this place. However the staff were so lovely, kind and caring considering the pandemic. Should have eaten next door at the bird in hand.

Nice and quick quiet Cafe/restaurant it's have a good selection of cakes and the menu is reasonably priced but I didn't try on this visit. Only a coffee and a slice of the great offers of lovely cakes. They were generous potions as well, I think I might visit again..

Clearly the staff that work here don't take any pride in giving customers good service. The team were unfriendly and quite rude and after giving us the worst Cheddar Scone I've ever had, went straight back to all standing on their phones visible from the kitchen.

Food is of poor quality, cooked terribly and overpriced. Not a lot of choice, pastry’s left out to go dry and stale! Dread to think how long they’ve been sat there. No gluten free options available a part from a courgette and avocado cake what the hell! How about just something simple like a carrot cake ! Not a lot of option for children a part from an Apple! Babybel cheese or pombears and wosits. Definitely won’t be returning and wasting my money. Rather go to squires thanks

I have been to the restaurant a few weekends in a row and each time the service is just as bad as the last. Even when you manage to get the attention of wait staff they don't come back to you. Twice now I've been brought food and no cutlery. To pay is even more of a nightmare. Sat next to an elderly couple who told us they had been waiting or HALF AN HOUR just to pay! Screaming out of control kids don't help. Such a bit as it's a lovely area and the food is good. PLEASE will someone step in and get some order amongst the staff.

Cafe conservatory is within the Wyvale garden centre complex and unless you can sneak through the exit automatic doors, it’s a bit of a hike through the main store area (which to be honest is looking run down compared to rivals). Thought it odd the car park looked busy for midweek but hardly a soul inside the store - transpires customers were actually visiting the cafe which is perhaps strange as it’s small, cramped, dated, with limited menu options and strange layout (cakes etc located on a table to far side of counter, causing a bottle neck when busy). Looking around I realised why it was so busy - majority of customers were well over 60 and there’s a generous Mon - Thu incentive of free tea or filtered coffee plus dessert if purchasing any main meal. To be honest I can’t think of any other reason why you’d make the effort to visit. Must be a really depressing place to work and you have to wonder how long it will be before the whole place is demolished and land sold to a developer :-(

Why did we try this place again? Third time unlucky. Called in for breakfast. This place is situated in a 'conservatory' which sounds like an auditorium at times. Sadly yet again for some unearthly reason a parent allowed her two boys to scream which bounced off the walls and the ceiling. Not the restaurants fault by any means but did not help the visit. Ordered the breakfast sandwich. The sausages were dreadful mostly bread, and dry very poorly sourced. The bread itself thin which did not help hold the sandwich together. Shame it could do so much better.

Went to Wyvale for a visit on Christmas Eve with my two year old. We had a muffin each and I had a cup of tea. The muffins were tasty, tea was fine. Did find it strange that the bottled juices were £2.50- pretty steep and you can get a wine in there for a pound more! Layout is a bit odd as the counter is on the right as you enter and all the cakes etc are on the far side- so the queue is backed up out of the door again and when you get to the counter you have to leave to go and see the selection. They did have colouring and books for children which I thought was a nice touch. I assume the café is run as an independent business and I would urge the garden centre owners to consider how much revenue a quality café brings to such a place as the café is poked in a small out building while large areas of the main building are sparsely populated with dated, frankly horrible stock. The café does what it can in the space it is given but I won’t be rushing back due to the fact that the centre itself is not good. (Drab, run down buildings, bizarre layout, trolleys uncovered so rain sodden to sit a child in, non plussed staff- not in the same league as places like Squires, Long Acres or Redferns. Money would be the issue clearly and I hope they are able to invest soon or I fear it won’t be able to keep up)

A trip down memory lane as well, as we used to visit here over 30 years ago when living in the area. Checking online in advance, I noted it was a Wyevale now, like our local garden centre. So a convenient location and a convenient time for a quick lunch on our way to our overnight accommodation. It wasn't too busy, just before all the snow that March Saturday ! Coffee panini cake etc was fine. Staff were fine, pleasant venue, enjoyable food and drink. Nice to wander around the garden centre again before braving the weather outside.

Popped in for brekky which typically in Wyevale seems good. This one was we were left at till waiting to order whilst staff flapped around. Finally ordered and then breakfast came out. Traditional breakfast with burnt bacon and cremated out of date mushrooms. Toast was actually untouched bread by fire. Could get over this until pointing out to lady at counter that mushrooms were off and its dangerous to serve them. Response was not as expected would not use again based on this experience. Complaint escalated to site manager who said would deal with it. Hopefully this does not happen again as VFM and quality of food and service not acceptable.

Went for lunch here. Two of us ordered a Christmas panini: turkey, stuffing, parsnip, cranberry sauce. As a panini it didn't work. My partner had a toastie (cheese and tomato). This latter dish was far more successful. The orange juice we ordered was rather disappointing, seemingly processed: not very pleasant. Service was reasonable. This is a good place for tea or coffee and cake.

I am afraid to say that this is the worst Wyevale cafe I have visited to date. We ordered scrambled eggs onToast and were charged £7.90 for what was a small unseasoned plate of nothingness plus £2.00 for two tiny plastic sausages, £9.90 for what must be without exception the worst breakfast I have tasted. We also ordered a warm pancake stack which would come with yoghurt, granola and compot. The girl took my money and then came to the table to say "sorry no pancakes" "that's ok" I said "I will have toast instead of the pancakes but with the yogurt etc. "Sorry no yoghurt"! We paid £18.65 for the above with two black coffees. What a terrible disappointment. I guess that the pancakes would have come in a microwaveable pack as it would have been easy to mix up some batter. This has put me off Wyevales and I definitely won't be visiting any of again.

Dropped in at Woking Wyvale Restaurant for cod & chips. It was 12.15 and there were only two free tables - this shows it’s popularity. Personally I didn’t think the fish batter was as good as previous visits. The new thinner batter doesn’t mention ‘beer’ in the batter so I wonder if this is the reason. The cod itself was perfectly cooked, accompanied by peas, plenty of chips and tartar sauce. Today was a special offer of two mains for £10.00 so it was difficult to criticizes and proved good value.

I decided to come here & have a cup of tea whilst my daughter was kayaking on the river at Guildford. The garden centre has a large car park & I noticed there were guys washing cars here so next time I will get my car washed as well.I had a look around the garden centre & it looked well stocked & I bought my dog some bones from the pet section. The restaurant was clean & tidy though inside not that many seats but there were seats outside. They had a good, varied menu with a good selection of teas, coffees & cakes. I had a cream tea which was very nice. The man behind the counter was very polite & friendly.I did see food being taken to other customers & the portions looked of good size & all the food looked very nice.I felt relaxed enough to sit & read my book.I will come here again & try one of the cooked meals.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant, especially for the fish and chips. They are amazing and I have had them about 5 times so far in the last year. Never been disappointed and they are far better than any of the other so called fish and chip places in Woking which I have tried having read the reviews. Forget Ketch, Horsell Fish and Chips and Ye Olde - this is the place to eat fish and chips. All of the food is great including the cakes and coffee. The service is excellent. As a newcomer to Woking and a foodie, I cannot understand why this place is not in the top 20. Please visit them and leave great reviews on Trip Advisor afterwards!!!!!

We regularly visit this garden centre in Woking for Sunday lunch. They are doing a great offer for a meal deal (main course, side dish, pudding, cold drink and finally a coffee all for less than £10.00). My son has a kids meal which excellent value. The wife always has a jacket spud!. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My son enjoys watching the fish in the pond while he has his lunch. All in all a great little café.
