Quick service, generous portions for a small serving of chips! A good, no nonsense takeaway.

Nice and easy, 2 cod and 2 chips, walked 30 mins and she packaged it then and there for me. We got a deal on it but idk if I would pay £10 for one large cod otherwise. It was very nice though!

Food portions are atrocious. 4pound for a tiny portion of chips. chicken burger is small as a happy meal burger in a soft bun way too big for small excuse of a burger. Rip off because of a delivery. I bet in person orders they wouldn't dare serve them size portions. Want a refund or re delivery of more chips!

By far the worst fish and chips and pie I have ever had. Ordered from UberEats on 24/04 around 12.30pm. I wanted fish and chips for a long time. Thought I would try them as reviews were good. Big mistake. Pie was chewy. Cod was cold and chewy. Fries were like they were refried several times. All items were inedible like they gave leftovers from the day before. Only thing ok was the mushy peas and Diet Coke. Waste of my money. Big mistake ordering from them. Stick to Deep Blue. Even Mr Cod which is bad is better than them. So disappointed.

not ready again. microwave pie, microwave saveloy. awful take away. Just stay away, better options elsewhere. Just close it's clear it isn't viable to do it properly.

No advice of late delivery, arrived 13 15 instead of 12 30, food no longer hot, unlikely we will use service again. Wings have not answered their phone contact so they are not aware they have a upset customer

Battered sausage was tiny and full of hot oil which squirted everywhere, burnt myself when taking a bite. Saveloy was salty AF.

Best chicken and chips in Reading.

The food was nice! We also got two extra pieces of scampi which was great! The chips definitely are proper chip shop chips (although quite greasy) - also the battered sausage is smaller than in other chip shops, about 8/9cm long. Can’t complain for the price but just in case anyone is looking for reviews trying to work out if the battered sausage is meant to be that cheap! The batter is also more crunchy than flaky - I liked it but just thought that’d be helpful to know!

Excellent fish and chips. One of the best in Reading (and this town has some good competition). Freshly cooked to order and good value, fantastic customer service, highly recommended. Perfectly cooked chips (nice and crisp), well cooked fish with a nice crunchy batter. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £11.50 (cash only). I was told when my food was served that the fish was a bit small so they gave me an extra one free - can’t argue with that and they certainly want to keep their customers happy. I overheard them giving the previous customer an extra free battered sausage too.

Got myself a 1/2 pounder. Worst one I ever had. Guess you have to stick to old fashion Fish and chips at a F&C shop.

I normally go to Wings for food, but it was raining today so ordered via Just Eat. Delivered on time, still piping hot, and still as tasty as normal. Great simple food.

After several visits under it's latest management this chippy has nosedived; the oiliest battered fish just soaks through the paper, the chips are brittle as if they have been reheated from yesterday. One of the worst chips shops around.

Paid 14.82 for a battered sausage with chips, plus another battered sausage and a curry sauce…received 2 battered sausages and a curry sauce…called wings and after answering me they just left the phone hanging for nearly 10 minutes….i hung up but now they won’t answer….nearly £15 for two sausages and a curry sauce???….not acceptable

I was very disappointed, not awful but not great 😞 chips were deffo not chip shop chips asked for salt and vinegar none was put on. Battered sausage wasn't nice just really greasy. Huge portion sizes on the fish and chips for decent prize. Was very very greasy tho.

Completely the wrong order- not impressed and it went in the bin

Food quality is great, however the attention to the details of the order are not so good. I asked for chicken, mushy peas and chips and got 2 battered sausages (which I dont buy for myself as I dont like batter) chips and a can of coke. Tried to ring them them and the line was busy constantly.

This was my favourite chippy for years. It's very disappointing now. Tasteless fish, unpleasant tasting chips. Service was okay, but there's zero atmosphere in there now. It's a shame to see Wings go down in quality like this, but there it is.

The food was OK (although chips not cheesy chips) but spending 20 minutes in the deliverers bag while they slowly delivered made it luke warm.

Wings was the go-to chippy in Cav for 30 years, but the new owners have totally bollixed it: tasteless fish, hard sheets of batter, lifeless chips. Won't be going again

Got fish and chips at 9pm Friday night on my way home on my bike fish lots of batter little fish chips all cold left overs £9.98 got home put them in the bin called the business they said come back up I said no I won't come to your takeaway ever again I would say if you want to bin a tener it's the place to go

Cod was really good but chips were awful, so crunchy just crisps really, not a proper chip shop chip unfortunately

2 Battered Sausage I ordered was not included when I called the restaurant they laughed and said maybe the driver ate it, and told me to contact Just Eat and hung up on me.

Previous review from 3 years ago when run by Mr Wing: Always consistently good. The Wings are very friendly. Fish normally cooked fresh. No dropped from 5 to 1 start. Awful god avoid!

Went in at 17.30 on a Friday night. Got fish and chips. I’ve never posted a bad review before but this was so bad I want to save people from wasting their money here. Fish was in batter with an uncooked slimy raw layer around the fish. Repulsive. Really guys if you can’t even fry fish properly just stop.

As mentioned in another review, not as good as it was under previous ownership. Food not as good and the service is appalling.

No longer as good as it was under former ownership. Chips OK but fish poor - little choice and minimal meat, and batter over cooked. Now offering burgers etc shows they are spreading their “wings” but doesn’t add value. More is less.

First time of trying and was really impressed. The food was delicious. Will definitely be ordering again.

Absolutely wrank. Went in for some lunch. Ordered chips and battered sausage. Chips were 100% the leftovers from previous evening and had been re cooked and tasted burnt. The battered sausage was extremely burnt and over cooked. Couldn't even eat it. The lady behind counter hardly speaks english. The only thing this place has going for it was that the curry sauce was nice... will never be returning

Fresh, hot, tasty. If I had to be critical I would say there was too much batter, but I'm probably odd as someone that prefers the fish to the batter. All in all, excellent

Battered sausage was awful, looked like a cremated chicken ball from a Chinese. Asked for salad in my burger and looks like the leaving from a rabbit hutch. Not happy

Ordered a chicken burger for £3.5 and it was only a bun and crumbed chicken breast. No lettus,no sauce. There was no option on deliveroo to add salad to burger. Curry sauce was spicy. Chips were like they had been reheated and dry. Jumbo sausage was not the size of a jumbo sausage was the size of a small chipolata.

Used to be the best. Now the worst based on meal we just had. recooked cod and minced beef pie and wouldn't be surprised if chips were a day old either. Never again

I ordered 3 burgers for my family, all with lettuce in them. And to my surprise when I opened them all when I got back to my car, none of them had lettuce in them and the burgers were disgusting. The meat was dull and poor quality. Don’t think I will ever return.

Best fish and chips option in the Reading area. Staff were friendly and polite. The venue is small and so it's takeaway only. Portion sizes are massive, you will probably be full on just half.

Cod and chips were well cooked. Only Complaint was the batter was too thick and greasy. I was hungry and ultimately was good food.

Avoid if you can. Chap never got off his mobile once while he was preparing and wrapping my order. Luckily I don't live too far away because when I got home the pie was uncooked (totally). I nearly threw up after I ate some. I quickly spat it back out and took it back to them. I couldn't believe it when I told the guy and he just smirked and asked if I wanted another. He really didn't care. Another customer was waiting for his order and I think he was having second thoughts. I got my money back and left. Went home and threw the now cold chips into the bin. I was looking forward to a nice pie and chips. Wings used to be run by lovely respectable people who cared about their customers and the food was lovely but never again for me.

This is our go-to fish and chip shop, and we feel lucky because the food is delicious, particularly the chips which are out of this world. Always friendly and fast service.

New owners with a hard act to follow but they’ve cracked it. Really crispy chips, husband loves the batter. Nearly always a queue, good value. Recommend
