Absolutely amazing food and portion sizes best halal takeaway in reading!!!

None of the dishes I had were Chinese, really bad rice. Soggy and no taste.

Great place to get good food and their so nice and welcoming inside/ must try.

I've been coming to this restaurant for about 20 years now and I'm still in love with the food. The service is always fast and friendly and the people are always so lovely and accommodating. It's takeaway only so you don't sit down to eat or anything which is only a shame because the staff are so nice. The only place I get Chinese takeaway from!

Best Chinese in town. I eat here regularly and i love their Chow Mein dishes and lamb ribs honey glazed!! Yummy. I recommend to anyone and they serve HALAL. You cant find many halal Chinese who serve good food as Wan Choi does.

Absolutely beautiful food, everything is so tasty, you can tell it’s freshly made and the staff are so kind and make small adjustments if needed. I no longer get my Chinese takeaway from anywhere else every Friday I’m here!! Staff are always so friendly Its one of the reasons I always come back

I got food for here to night excellent service food was fab salt and pepper chips. Back again tonight ordering the same as it was so good and ordering more and more as it was so good will come back again

Food always fine but on my birthday (Christmas Eve) the wait time was ridiculous. Ordered before 6pm, estimated delivery time was 715-735 but food finally arrived around 910pm! This was after numerous phone calls to restaurant who promised the food was already out for delivery (it wasn't!), then that the driver was 5 minutes away (he wasn't!). Then that we couldn't have any money back but they'd include some free food (they didn't!). A little bit of honesty / apology would have helped...

Takeaway order: Food took over an hour to prepare, then unable to deliver as could not get a driver. After 2 hours of waiting the restaurant cancelled the order with no notification. Terrible service.

Waited over 3 hours and the food just never arrived. Contact number for the restaurant does not work with no way at all of speaking to the restaurant. Nightmare!

I ordered food at 6.15pm it is now 8.56pm and no delivery. I’ve called restaurant twice and they have been less than helpful and do not call back with update. I tried to cancel order but was just told food was on the way. Awful service, very disappointed.

ordered for 7pm, order accepted at 5.30pm. got call at 7.25 said would be 10-15 mins. i called them again at 8.05 and was told 15 mins. called back 8.20 they said would call driver, put the phone down on me. called back and said 8 mins. now 20.43, nothing delivered and kids hungry. given 1 star only because I have to.

Excellent value, tasty food and great service. The portions are very generous and I find it’s usually plenty for two meals! The set menu options are superb value and I love having enough left over for dinner the next day.

The order said delivery between 1835-1855. At 1905 I called the restaurant to ask where it was and was told it would arrive at 1915. it eventually arrived at 1945 and half of the meal was cold.

I love it is that is that the Chinese and Thai food is Halal a good choice of menu wan Choi have and tasty food too :)

To be honest, when I first saw the reviews of this place on Google Maps, I didn’t find any Chinese reviews at all, so I thought this should be a typical British-style Chinese restaurant. As a Chinese, I didn’t like it. Didn't have high expectations for this place. But because I live nearby recently, I occasionally passed by their place and ordered a few dishes. I found them to be quite good, especially their King Prawn Chow Mein, which far exceeded my expectations. How can I say, they fired me. When I was a child, my dad gave me the taste of fried noodles at home. This was not easy. As a fried noodle lover, I have eaten various fried noodles in Southeast Asia over the years. In my opinion, the Vietnamese "Mi Xao" is not seriously fried at all, just Drizzle the noodles with oil. The Indonesian "Mi Goreng" likes to add sweet soy sauce, and there is no steam in the pot, so I can't get used to it. In China, some of the fried noodles in street shops and stalls are okay, but generally Heavy in oil and salty, some are too spicy (especially outside of my hometown in the Yangtze River Delta), and some are technologically advanced and ruthless. The fried noodles in this store feel like they have fried the most basic soul of our family fried noodles in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. The right amount of oil, the right amount but not too heavy seasoning, the vegetables that are acceptable to Chinese people, and the fragrant pot gas, king prawn is also It's quite generous, and I can't believe that the most tasteless fried noodles I've had in recent years was in the UK. Update: I’ve been shopping from them a few times recently, and they’re really good. When they were closed on Wednesday, I went to a Chinese restaurant nearby to buy dinner, but many of the dishes in that restaurant were obviously not as good as this one.

11/10 .. the chow meins are so good! How did i just discover this halal Chinese now. Definitely a regular customer from now.

Food was very tasty I have ordered twice, they didn’t disappoint me in anyway..

Most of the lamb ribs had no meat on, the chicken balls had thick, soggy batter, all dishes were really greasy, the chips were dry & regular portion was small, chicken samosas filling bear no resemblance to chicken, the egg fried rice wasn't very eggy & was all stuck together & there were mushrooms in the beef curry.

Ordered online, food was fine but nothing to write home about. Woke up at 6am to throw up nasty chilli beef.

Order was wrong. They sent the wrong main course which was cold & also not something I could even eat. Both other items were of poor quality & inedible so ended up in the bin. I’m awaiting a full refund through Just Eat. I’ll never order from them again. So disappointed & now hungry.

I ordered the beef in black bean sauce and the sweet and sour chicken and all I can say is beautiful with the white boiled rice prawn crackers was absolutely gorgeous my kids loved it the chicken balls we got were huge and piping hot with the sweet and sour sauce just hit the spot the sticky bbq ribs omg mouth watering my Mrs face was covered in the sticky bbq sauce and fingers cause they ain't shy on the sauce and the portions are very good prices excellent I would highly recommend this place and delivery was quick will be ordering again very soon thanks guys really good stuff.

Order was placed at 7.19pm-with an expected delivery time frame of 8.20-8.40pm. The status of the order wasn’t changing at all,so we were concerned and called the store on 2 separate occasions who promised the order was being prepared and would be with us by 8.30pm however weren’t very confident. By 8.40 the status had changed to the food being delivered however nothing had arrived. The food was dropped at 8.50pm-when called to see where the order was we got told its Just eats mistake

My favourite Chinese in Reading. Especially love the Singapore vermicelli noodles and chicken chow mein! Curry sauce is always good too. I usually have leftovers and it’s always just as amazing the next day. I’m moving away from Reading and am gutted to have to wave goodbye to Wan Choi. Thank you for many amazing feasts!! ❤️

Ordered off the app, was charge but no food. So called them up and told them about it and was told it would come to me in the couple business days. I ordered on the 4th of June and now it is the 17th, no refund or food. So I want my money back or my food

Really good Chinese takeaway, the customer service is top tier. I particularly love the crispy aromatic duck, and the satay sauce with prawn crackers.

Two weeks ago, we ordered and never got our food and got charged! No answer on the phone despite ringing several times. The shop then had a sign they were shut until the 14th April - this was not made clear until I drove to the shop to see where my order was!! Then we were told we would get an immediate refund from their accounts team when we left a review regarding this but I have still been charged - no refund in sight. Called the shop several times just now because they are said they due to open on the 15th - again, no answer. They have got new reviews made up below saying people have ordered food just last week even though they were supposedly shut until 14th April...

Ordered from a here a few times, the foods always hot and tasty, and the generous portion's doesn't compromise any of the mouthwatering dishes they offer. Definitely my go to Chinese place and will be going forward. The staff are always friendly and welcoming as ever. Thanks Wan Choi!

Awful service. Placed an order on the app an hour and a half ago, received no confirmation but was charged. Tried calling several times but goes into voice mail. No iftar for us today.

Awful service!!! ordered the food and was told on the email confirmation it would come at 7:35pm but have not heard anything. Their phone goes straight to voicemail. My husband has had to drive out to the restaurant to see what the issue is. We have been charged with no dinner!

Very bland food. Couldn’t tell the two different curries apart. Cold food and late delivery despite being about a mile away.

Waited over hour and half for food. Told them over the phone my kids would be in bed and it still showed up 45 mins late. Terrible service won’t order from them again. Twice now it’s been really late!

Large portion of salt and pepper chips is not large. All portions are generally very small. No prawn crackers with the order. Only good thing is they often deliver way ahead of when they say they will.

After 40 minutes of waiting after the latest possible delivery time, I called. They said it was on its way, I live a 5 minute walk away. After 15 minutes, the food arrived. It was very bland and tasteless. I think they forgot about the order and rushed the food. Would not go there again

Not a bad place and have tried a few times. But food can be very bland and dry. Made an order recently and chips were oven chips, chicken was dry, rice tasted like it had been heavily cooked in some oil. Just not good and not worth it. Try lees garden or wok u like if you’re local to them; guaranteed better flavours and food will be enjoyable. Update: I will blame the food because it was dry, it wasn’t good. I wouldn’t say I’m a regular customer as I’ve ordered only a couple of times and both were not good. And there was no issue with the card machine, my payment went through just fine and the order wasn’t late. So I can’t say the food was bad because of that. I respect you’re a small business but I do recommend trying a new recipe just to flavour the food that bit more. And I’m only comparing to other Chinese take aways local to the area and just saying they do serve better with full flavour. It’s up to the public if they wish to order from you, some people like different things. I appreciate you being a service and providing food, just not up to my expectations and that’s fine. Keep serving and enjoy the custom, im going to continue ordering from lees garden as they’re really good. And also wok u like, they give free spring rolls which is yummy! No hate from me, just honesty. Thank you
