Wing Yip chinesse Takeaway in Peterborough

We’ve been loyal customers here for about 8 years. The food has always been fantastic, with a lovely atmosphere, and we’ve never had a complaint – until now. On November 7th, we went to pick up our usual order of duck in plum sauce, salt and pepper fries, noodles, prawn toast, and a few other favorites. When we arrived, the doors were closed for nearly an hour, and we had to wait outside, knocking and calling multiple times before anyone let us in. Many customers which were waiting with us just left. Once opened They mentioned they hadn’t realized the doors were locked, which was surprising. Once we got the food home, the quality was shocking. The duck was burnt and tasted nothing like the usual plum sauce dish we know – we could barely recognize it. The salt and chili fries were undercooked and completely inedible, while the noodles were bland and unseasoned. We’re extremely disappointed, and unfortunately, this experience has ruined the trust we built over years. We might give them one more chance but It’s truly sad to see a place we used to love, fall so far from the standards that kept us loyal all these years.

Used for the first time today and the food was excellent. Ordered for collection and the food was piping hot and kn time. All the family said they really enjoyed it. Will definitely use again

Lovely food, 2nd time ordering. We had chicken balls, kung po chicken, plain chow mein, egg fried rice, mushroom fried rice. All yummy! Friendly delivery.

Wouldn't recommend!... Wasn't the worst I've had but definitely wouldn't get from here again, chicken curry wasn't fresh and had 100% been frozen previously but edible, chips were at least a day old, chicken balls were standard, chow mein and rice however were nice and had decent flavour

Ordered via just eat, delivery time kept on being put back, was delivered 45 mins later than stated. When the food arrived it was warm, and tasty. Potion sizes were good. Only thing that let it down was the delivery time, from ordering on just eat and delivery was over two hours!!

Ordered from here for the second time and wasn’t overly impressed - The food lacked any flavour and felt it was over cooked - the curry was just hot with no flavours - the best part about the meal was the prawn crackers!! Won’t be ordering again

Had a delivery tonight and need to share that this was awful! Dry chips, the chicken balls tasted of flour with the chicken dry. Nothing about this was impressive, no flavour, cold, dry and a waste of money! I rarely rate companies but feel I have to with how bad this is!

Last time we ordered the food was excellent, this time it was below par, the kung p chicken had something added to it to bulk it out that was not edible. The rice was cold. Unfortunately will not be ordering again due to the big dip in quality

Furthermore, the customer service I encountered was far from satisfactory. The staff displayed a dismissive attitude, showing a lack of empathy or concern for the inconvenience caused by the missing items. It is disheartening to experience such apathy from a service-oriented establishment. The managerial response to my concerns was equally disappointing. There seemed to be a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction, leaving me with the impression that my concerns were of little importance to the management. In conclusion, my experience with Wing Yip Chinese Takeaway was marred by missing food, rude customer service, and a general lack of concern from the management. I cannot recommend this establishment based on my unfortunate encounter and suggest potential patrons exercise caution when considering ordering from Wing Yip.

Disappointing and had to cook our children food so they didn’t go to bed hungry.

Loved the chicken balls and noodles. Rice was ok, but a little bit dry. Spring roll overcooked, just about edible. Slow delivery, but polite, friendly driver. Also free prawn crackers much appreciated. Would order from here again.

Crispy chicken balls were lovely, light and crispy, not at all doughy. House special fried rice was lovely - light and flavoursome. We were not ever so keen on the rice dish that came with Set Meal A tho - just personal taste preference I guess as it was full of beef and vegetables

We always get our Chinese from another place but thought we would try wing yip for a change, food was was nice not like we usually get had crispy shredded beef and it tasted very vinegary and soggy very disappointed as I fancied a Chinese meal all day and to get something that u didn’t really enjoy was very disappointing

Unfortunately after eating from your restaurant I habe woken up this morning with the worst case of food poisoning I've experienced in my adult life. Poor channels of communication for when something like this happens. No way to contact you during the day time.

it was 6 minutes late after the time being extended once already which was annoying and made me hangry. but the food was beautiful, beef fell apart and rice wasn’t greasy. honestly the quality saved it

Food was great... but was delivered 45 mins later than promised, despite 2 phone calls saying it was on its way - and we're only 5 mins from the takeaway. The £10 cashback was welcome but didn't help the hungry family mood much. Have been very pleased in the past, but today awful service.

Food quality poor, prawns were terrible and sweet and sour chicken tasted like dishwater. Chicken balls with far too much batter and sweet and sour dipping sauce with too much corn flour as had turned to gelatine. Food quality would have to be much improved before I would purchase again.

Was all a reheated mess, the chicken balls were bland and soggy, the duck chow mein smelt "off" also not much duck.... The salt and pepper chicken was good tasted like the only thing that was freshly cooked but it was obvious the sweet and sour chicken balls had been microwaved. Very disappointing overall
