Wongs City Takeaway in Peterborough

I’ve spent a year travelling Asia and I love Asian food and it’s really hard to satisfy my tastes but that place is amazing! I didn’t have a really nice wonton soup in a very long time and theirs was just spot on. Loved the duck and the sesame prawns on toast. Will be definitely my favourite in town.

Friendly service Busy, so a bit of a wait. I didn't like the sweet & sour sauce. Rest OK. Can be difficult to park outside on busy street. Parking restrictions.

From the shady location this takeaway is based and the general look of it, I would say I wouldn't have gone on tried here. However the service was nice and the one food option did try surpassed my expectations. I had the Wong City special rice dish- steamed rice with a mix of meat, prawn and veg in an oyster sauce. I had mines with chilli. I was impressed with it and would definitely try it again. I have since been here again and tried the pork, black bean sauce dish and thoroughly enjoyed this too. Meat was a good texture and the fish had lots of flavor. Wing City is my new go-to in Peterborough!

Proper good people. Excellent food that I would highly recommend served by Penny ,Penny, and the other bloke. And the super cook. I do go there a lot because it is so good. There is a delivery service as well for anyone who would like some Excellently Freshly Prepared food.

Definitely the best Chinese food in town! We've been ordering here for a good 4 years now, and we haven't found a tastier chicken cantonese or a crispy shredded chicken. Very polite staff, always meet the needs of their customers. Recommend!

Best ribs ever and I’ve been all over. Off the bone and very tasty. This place is that good I even ordered again to take home the following day.

Food was delicious and hot, we made a really big order and they kindly threw in some spring rolls, prawn crackers and fortune cookies which was a nice touch. The ribs are are great as they remove the meat from the bone so you get a good size portion. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you

I have had enough with their poor customer service and performance. Ordered today 2x roast duck with orange sauce and singapure rice noodle. Received roast duckwith green pepper& black bean sauce and singapure rice noodles with shrim while i wanted vegetarian. I called them straight away and they basically play like answer questions to questions. It was my last order today with them. Extremely disappointed.

My preferred takeaway in the city. I have been purchasing from them for 18 years. Their service is impeccable.

Did not receive our order until nearly two hours after I made the order. When it did arrive, the food was absolutely inedible. The salt and pepper chips were cold and tasted as though they had been warmed up in a microwave. The chicken chow mein was vile and the satay sauce was a taste I have never before experience and hope I never encounter it again. There was no peanut flavour in there, just disappointment.

the food was about disgusting. chow mein was burnt the curry was like water and has about no flavour and when you order chinese you expect chunky chips not reheated inablentp chew fries. was unable to eat had to order again from somewhere else. DO NOT EAT HERE

Try their pad thai noodles. Really scrumptious especially with a dash of their homemade chilli oil. Today I bought Hunan beef, Malaysian fried rice and Peking ribs. Always enjoyed their foods. Best in the city.

The delivery turned up before it was supposed to which we thought was great but the food was terrible, all the dishes were cold and full of oil and the chicken balls were so burnt you couldn’t eat them as they were solid, absolute disgrace and want reimbursing for the order

Not ordering from here again been eating there for a while it’s been ok today I found a HAIR in my food and there only response was to come back in store horrible customer service and disgusting

the dishes were exceptional and cooked exactly as requested. a couple more pancakes with the crispy duck would have been appreciated, but this is a minor point on an otherwise great experience. Will be using again soon.

Was late, but we were kept updated, got some extra prawn crackers and complimentary spring rolls, just a shame takeaway doesn't taste like home cooked! Sauces a little sweet (sweet and sour to be expected of course!). Please done make it for us make it as you would cook for yourself!

Duck in plum sauce had no taste although duck was cooked nicely. Too much pineapple and cucumber in the sauce?! Why cucumber in dish? Smoked chicken starter a little over cooked too

Delivery perfect, food not great. Soggy pancake rolls, sweet and sour sauce was a brown colour and runny, chow mien very dry. First and last time unfortunately.

I was recommended this by several people in my church .they are chinese, malayan,hong kong chinese so this food is there bag..so there recommendation was worth it weight in Gold..the food was fresh the mix of vegetables fresh meats was amazing.the spare ribbs were so tasty and meaty. It was not your usual rubbish that you get from take aways.. highly recommended this place.. best Chinese ive tasted .. !! Give it a try .. wont be disappointed...

Delicious Pad Thai and Prawn in pineapple sauce!

My wife loved the taste of her pad thai. She commented on the good amount of chicken. I haven't had beef cantonese before. It is a little more watery than i generally like, but it had a sweet, pleasant taste. There is nothing i didn't like. The spring roll was HUGE. Yum

Ordered at 6pm for 9pm delivery At 9 pm wrong city rang food will 10 minutes late, 9.20 rang wrong city said driver delayed by someone not answering the door. 9.40 food arrived almost cold. 9.50 wong city called asking if this was another address. Very disappointing will not be using again

Been using Wong City for years and never had any issues. It's so amazing that I used to live round the corner from them, but had to move a few miles away and it's still the best Chinese in peterborough.

EASILY the best Chinese food I have had from Just Eat around the Peterborough area

First time we ordered from here and I thought it must be good with all the amount of reviews. It came half an hour early which was nice. I tried the Singapore noodles, but it was just a chicken chow mein with a bit of spice. The food was OK, not the best chinese we've had and the chicken was quite tough/dry..we ended up eating around the chicken in the end.

Terrible service took 2 hours to get our food. Won't be ordering again from them, not even a call to apologise

Best food in whole Peterborough. Fantastic staff. Will give 10 out 5 stars if I could. Tried so many take aways, but this one is the best. Mum after cancer treatment, first request when she returned home, was duck in vegetables, that she loves. Thank to all staff, as they are so lovely. Update After few years using then, they have gone down the hill. Food is microwaved, and with how much it cost, I do expect fresh food. Orders are wrong, I ask for one thing, get something else. Taste, and quality of food has gone down. On the lookout for new take away now.

Wrong order delivered received breaded mushrooms instead of king prawns

food was amazing. The tracker on the app is so bogus so i called the restaurant, they answered right away and assured me it's on the way, they're attentive and showed they care. the food arrived hot, steaming, i was upset because i was hungry but that's my stomachs problem. The food was so good, i ordered the duck fried rice, veggie noodles and sweet and sour, i ate 3 hours ago and iam still thinking about it all. Top tier everything! i'll be back! thank y'all for making my night

I had the chicken in orange sauce, but the orange sauce was incredible bitter, I couldn't eat it Hubby had pork with mushrooms, he said that was great. Egg fried rice was great, mushroom fried rice had onions in it, which rendered it inedible to me. I wouldn't go back to this Chinese.

Food was ok, if a little plain, but the sweet and sour sauce was sweet chilli sauce? Really didn't go with the meal, and the " ribs " were a pot of meat, not ribs on the bone, the Duck fried rice was more peas than meat, and that was small dry pieces.
