I am a vegetarian I asked for vegetable spring roll and when I got home I bit into it and they gave me pork spring rolls and proceed to not care terrible staff terrible food

One of my favourite restaurants Best Chinese food in Peterborough. Great in the restaurant or as a takeaway. Difficult to park is the only problem

Ordered a takeaway. Given 3 different arrival times and it still didn't arrive. Phoned up 3 times and each time we're told it was on the way. It finally arrived nearly 3 hours after the original order. To be fair the food was OK and it was hot but it wasn't worth the wait. Definitely won't order from there again

Hidden gem. Fantastic food and excellent value for money

8 of us had the buffet Staff explained how it worked and took orders quickly. Food was good extra portions came out quickly and the atmosphere was relaxed no rush to enjoy the food

Chicken in lemon sauce without sauce!

order was late, food was cold, duck overcooked, chicken balls undercooked (batter) from the time after the food was suppose to arive, I called the restaurant and from that time it still took 30mins + for the drive to drive 2 miles ...

Rang the company over 100 times because we have been waiting two hours for our food and they haven’t picked up once

Rice and Chow Mein was lovely but everything else was cooked in all I can say was bright pink sauce. Never have I had king prawn and honey with a rave pink sauce, the same with crispy chilli beef. Was not authentic at all. The mixed starters were my fault. Normally where we order from you get seaweed, chicken satay, won tons etc but this was just pure battered chicken and prawns with two ribs. I should have read the description. Too expensive for the cheap food they cook. Never again

Waited 45 minutes for first corse, then another 30 minutes for second corse,by the time the third corse arrived wasnt hungery so left most of it.

Usually have no issues, however today the food arrived 30 minutes after delivery time (2 hr wait in total) and it was barely warm. Really disappointing especially as the price has gone up since last order.

Still have not received my order

my food didn't come until 8 o'clock and I ordered it at 5.50

This order was never collected, the restaurant was closed. We rang the phone number and it cut off. I have requested a refund as this food was never collected

Waited 1:5 hours for substandard food. Chicken balls old and greasy. Chow main not the freshest , chicken fried rice tasteless. When complained was told by Andy what do you want me to do ? Also as it’s delivery we should expect food to not be too hot. Unacceptable now waiting for the owners response, really a poor service with poor food for the wait I encountered. The customer is made to feel like we cannot complain about poor service and quality of food. Will keep this site updates with response from owner.

They like the number three. Two people, all the starters came in threes. The ribs i have seen more meat on a rib when ive finshed eating it. Main course three prawns in the sweet and sour. Three small pieces of chicken in the chow mean, three slices of pork in the cashew nut dish. Half a portion of crispy beef. I'd hate to see what you got on a meal for one. It tasted nice tho. You have to fill in the slip for the kitchen yourself and you get moaned at if you don't do it right as "the kitchen doesn't understand english" And we had to witness someone pulling apart a duck with a spoon rather than shredding it with two forks. I don't think ill be going back there is much better available in Peterborough.

ordered at 18:30. for delivery at 19:50.At 20:45, told order delivered to wrong address, had to wait a further 35 minutes. only offered free starter as compensation. abysmal.

I left instructions where to go to the back door for the driver to ignore and knock on the front door. what's the point off leaving notes for your order???

This is the best Chinese meal we have had in a very long time. We had the two course buffet menu, Aromatic Duck followed by a choice of 5 main courses and it was plentiful. We asked for another small bowl of rice, which was served to us, we could have had more of the main courses but didn’t need any more. The food was all freshly cooked and very tasty, from the Aromatic Duck with Pancakes to the crispy shredded beef, all was Excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful and couldn’t have looked after us better.

Starters were reasonable. The rest very average. Not many flavours. Takeaway from my local better. Maybe a la carte is better. Was advised several times not to order additional food as part of the buffet as would be too much.😖

im really disapointed the food was really bad chips was dry and old, ribs dry , everything was like old and dry and we waiting for that around 1 hour for us never again sorry

Order £55 pounds worth of food tonight for delivery took a bite of my chicken balls and they were pink and partly cooked called back the restaurant and all they offered was credit next time I ordered very disappointing!!! Luckily my daughter didn’t eat them of her plate!

Visited tonight for my birthday with family and friends. Amazing food, lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend. We will be back again.

Me and my family went for my sisters birthday meal the service is lovely and we got so much food with the buffet they give you lots of time and All of it was absolutely lovely

Not great. Nearly 2 hours to be delivered. Rang restaurant and was told delivery driver was on his way. 40 mins later he rocks up. Chicken overcooked and satay sauce split.

The food was 20 minutes late and a little cold

Always great food and plenty of it

Food is always lovely, we went on a hot day and they had AC running which was lovely. Service is good but did feel like asking for extra food was discouraged by our server even though it's all you can eat.

Staff are always very welcoming and remember you from your last visit. Food is lovely and service is fantastic. Love the warm sauce with the crackers and they don't skimp on the food portions. ❤️

Food is terrible, over cooked starters and beef. Been our go to Chinese for last couple of years, now to find a new one, rice was perfect but beef was cooked to a cinder, won tons and sesame toast and spring rolls over cooked and not worth eating

Chips were rock hard and cold. Think they had been recooked. Prawn crackers were chewy and not crispy. Disappointed as wanted to treat my mum as she had been in hospital

I am so shocked at some of the reviews here, eaten buffet here many times as a couple, with family, friends, large group occasion, the food is always fresh cooked, very flavoursome, huge portions and the staff are always very friendly, nothing too much trouble. The buffet menu is amazing value for money, if you want more of any ordered dishes just ask and they replenish it.

ordered at 610 got food around 750 and was cold but tasted good don't mind waiting a hour for food but at least make sure it's hot

Not up to its usual standard, chow mein and rice were good, the other dishes were pretty awful, lemon chicken was hard and chewy, kung po and mama chicken were tasteless and along with the lemon chicken tasted like last nights leftovers cooked in old oil.

Arrived just in time of the allocated slot after being extended. The food was ok. the sweet and sour sauce wasn't the best. The meals was ok.

The chips were not salt and pepper chips they were just regular which was disappointing as we had to wait after desire collection time.

Crispy shredded beef is really crispy... but wher is the beef? There is no crispy beef! This is a crispy cake! There's no meat! The sauce tastes like vinegar! You can't smell anything else but nasty vinegar and it's smeared with something red... You don't want to eat it. I waited for this order for over 30 minutes and never again. I ordered a few other items from their menu and this was my last order... And the reception smells like sewage...

Got a notification for a delay vs the original time which was fine it was then later than the specified delay which was latest at 19:35 and could no longer track on just eat so had to call the restaurant after the specified delayed delivery time to be told it was only just being packed and it arrived 19:55

The food as usual was heavy in salt and there was a short delivery of one curry sauce portion. I will never use this takeaway again and will be placing this review on other sites. Not the first short delivery.

Wrong order delivered, they even collected it back, cold and all! They cancelled our order due to miscommunication, ended up with no food at all. Staff was very rude and disorganised.

For the first time ever Shanghai Garden was very late delivering our order so we were not al at happy. However the food was as good as ever.

time shown was changed when the order was placed by 45 mins, (busy night fine), recived the "out for delivery" notification then had to wait an hour beyond that making it 1hr later than the revised time

Really pleased with my evening here, first up and most importantly the food was all top quality so no complaints, the smoked chicken was one of the best I've ever had! Restaurant itself was clean and well presented, staff friendly and welcoming. We spent £25 per head which included drinks so a great price too. Would go again and would recommend, thank you guys!

Lovely food - order showing as delivered at 20.45 but it was actually 21.25 two hours after it was ordered!

Nice and quiet but freezing cold, service lovely, very nice people.. food, not so lovely, the crispy chilli beef is limp wristed, it tastes like tomato sauce and I struggled to find any chilli, even though I'd asked for extra. The smoked chicken and ribs were perfect and the chowmein was also ok, parking was a nightmare so would suggest a taxi if your local. Would we eat here again? .. I'm not sure.

superb night a week last friday, for my dads 80th, food was excellent as always, excellent service, with a great atmosphere.

Food was extremely poor. Won’t be ordering again. Crispy duck was cremated duck. Chicken so over cooked it was inedible.

I had missing items from my order , the food was barely warm when arrived.

Had to wait over 2 hours for our order. I get that places can be busy but at least warn customers that orders will take longer before placing one instead of saying it would take upto an hour otherwise we would have gone elsewhere.

Really disappointing food. Lemon chicken was just dry over cooked chicken without any sauce. Crispy chilli beef was not remotely crispy… just chewy and covered in the same sweet and sour sauce they provide as a dip. Bar the special fried rice the food was all really poor. Will not be ordering again.

Ordered for the first time two night ago. I live 20/25 minutes from the restaurant. Food was piping hot and delicious. Definitely my new favourite Chinese, will be ordering again

Ordered a takeaway at 5:10pm meal arrived at 6:55pm way to long for delivery when arrived it was cold poor quality and obviously warmed up from lunch time missing curry sauce and wrong type of bbq ribs Ordered from this restaurant lots of times before but this is the worst meal ever have complained but waiting for management reply will not be purchasing from them again my advice is don't order a takeaway from them

Always amazing food 😍! Best Eat in Chinese in the area. There are plenty of choices, even for fussy eaters. Never had a bad experience here.

Food 35 mins late - food arrived lukewarm

Thought I’d try this place for a change, Food was nice enough, pancakes for duck were dry and stuck together which was a shame plus delivered an hour earlier than I ordered for. Not great when I specifically ordered for later.

Busy due to Friday night prime time I imagine so I won’t hold it against them, food tasted pretty good overall and hot when delivered.

Took 2.5 hours to arrive!! Wasn't as impressed with food quality as usual either

Received well within time given. Food was very hot and given the distance from here to hampton I was pleasantly surprised! I had Beef Peking Style and it was absolutely delicious!!! Also Singapore chow mien, again delicious!! Chips with salt and chilli and crispy won ton. All was excellent, hot and very very tasty! Will absolutely recommend and definitely order again.

Hi have been customer very numbers of years all ways been 100 per cent but to night ❓meat in special curry is so dry and the big chucks of onion and mushrooms are stale

Very bad food, fried rice comes mixed with normal cooked rice probably not mixed properly. Zero sessoning, mushrooms have terrible burnt after taste. Very little meat and prawns expensive portions and bad quality ingredients. Zero taste expect burnt cheap oil

Food was ok, but very salty so couldn’t eat all of it

Had a family chinese last night and ordered the food just after 6pm. It took 2 hours and 20 mins to arrive, which was 1 hour over the predicted delivery time. There were 2 dishes missing from the order. Not very impressed.

We booked here on a recommendation and unfortunately was disappointed. From the moment we sat down and started to order, we were told very rudely that our 4 year old son, who may I point out eats like a sparrow, would be charged £8 if he ate anything off the plates we ordered from the a la carte menu. Normally he just picks at my plate but this time he only got to have a plate of chips! The portion sizes were very small, especially as four adults were supposed to share. The duck course looked like it was only for 2, we just managed to make 4 pancakes out of what we were given. To top it off, another family arrived early having made a mistake with their booking - we heard the waitress tell them that they could have a drink and sit on the table behind us - they could have our table as soon as we left - however we had only just got our main course and we’re still eating. We were made to feel very uncomfortable and rushed - we didn’t stop for coffee or dessert as planned - this ruined our whole evening and my sister’s anniversary meal We will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to any friends or family

Arrived and seated. No problem. Starters, duck eaten and on to the mains. While eating these, a group of four came in and there had been a mix up with their booking. The waitress told them in front of us that they could have our table when we had finished. They were then sat at a different table to have drinks waiting for us to finish. They kept staring at us which was intimidating. We hadn’t finished our mains, still had dessert and coffees to go. Who’s to say we weren’t going to be another hour or so. On telling the waitress we found it really rude and made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable we paid and left. Ruined our evening celebrating a wedding anniversary. Will not go again

Order was never delivered. Guy and lady on the phone told it was delivered to some lady 30 y.o. approx, but actually never no one knocked the door. Looks like driver delivered order to random person on the street

Food took a while to get here but it was really delicious. Everything was hot and tasty. We all loved it, such nice flavours. Second time ordering now and just as nice as last time
