Wing Wah & Ming Moon Karaoke in Birmingham

I came here after being told by the hotel staff it would be a good choice so I decided to take in the lunch buffet. The food tasted a bit average and was often cold when I went to top up. I am sure though that this was due to it being the end of the lunch buffet period so it was just down to basics. The venue itself felt a bit run down and dated. It was full of people so in turn, was a noisy place to be if you want a bit of quiet.

The buffet experience at your restaurant was sumptuous and explosive, having to try different kinds of dishes and finding the tastes so perfect and delicious was lit for my partner and I . Would definitely recommend to others and be back again . However, the strawberry cocktail was a less for me considering the alcohol concentration being too high and that kind of killed the fruity flavor for me .

We celebrated my father’s birthday last Sunday, and it was truly an unforgettable day for us. We ordered a birthday cake through your staff, and they went above and beyond by bringing the cake along with the team to present it in a special way. My father was overjoyed at that moment, and it meant a lot to us. A heartfelt thank you to Fung and the entire team for making the occasion so memorable.

2025 and entering this regular buffet that I normally eat at with my family. On the 22nd February afternoon time , me at 9 months pregnant was told to wait for 10 minutes but when I went to take a seat to wait. I had a nasty family that was very much racist shouting at me and my mother saying don't sit by us. As I'm pregnant I sat on the edge but what I could see was that they family that was not English started to stand and shout in my mothers face. Very confused , very bizarre on this type of behaviour just for a seat in the waiting area. The ming moon staff stared and stood there didn't do nothing but In fact went over to the family that was not English and asked them if they was " okay' absolutely terrible and will never be going back again.

Always good hot tasty food and the desserts were amazing . Fung was very polite and helpful. Thankyou.

We visited Ming Moon on the 19th Feb for my son's birthday and had an amazing experience. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Olu who was extremely professional and made sure we were seated comfortably before sending someone over to take our drinks request. The entire staff were considerate and made sure that our table was constantly cleared aof any empty plates. The hot food and dessert selection was so vast that you're really spoilt for choice, id recommend taking small portions so that you're able to taste a the different choices available to you. The hot food selection was full of flavour, there is chef that will cook you a fresh stir fry with your selection of ingredients. If it is a birthday make sure to let them know as they will make it special by bringing out the cake for you with the candles lit, music playing and a banner with a happy birthday sign. I will be visiting again, thank you for accommodating our family.

Food was not good, very few dishes were good. Most of the dishes were not fresh and were cold. Food was looking and tasting very cheap.

Ming moons had a wide selection of food but wasn't as tasty as other places I had been, especially for the price. The chicken batter on the sweet and sour chicken was mushy and not very nice. The live fry up was really nice though. For some reason, when taking our dirty plates, they kept leaving our dirty forks on the table to reuse. I ended up using a spoon as we had to ask for new forks. Only knives and spoons were out. The atmosphere wad great with good vibes and good music.

Some staff can be abrupt when you are asking for a table, I understand it is a busy place but that is no excuse for being rude to customers. The food isn't the best, and has been the same choices for quite a while now. I've been here a few times now but definitely won't be returning.

Awful service , no forks provided to eat asked multiple staff for some they said yes then never seen again. The staff said to get water from a dispenser that was always empty and dirty. They sat us right next to the buffet which is fine but really was awful to sit there. This place has gone massively down hill. The food quality is awful! There food at the back just avoid always cold and just gross. The choices have been limited since last year , my old review was 5/5 but this time I cannot let that be. It was my favourite place to eat but after this experience never coming back. Bought my issues up to lady when paying and was ignored and told to “just pay”. Really unhappy.

Food was ok not alot of the plain variety with the curry's also we was in the karaoke rooms right on the bottom floor and we had elderly people with us and was told that we have to get our food from 2 floors up but they where good tbf they did move them to the first floor as it was to much for them to keep goin up and down the stairs

This has gradually gotten worse over the years in my opinion. The food selection just isn't there. This used to be a place we would go as a family quite often and now I cannot justify the evening buffet price for the quality of options that are available. At least not with other places offering better alternatives. If you are happy with chicken wings, ribs, some beef and a couple curries then it should be fine. The rest is different versions of potatoes, rice and noodles. The options of sushi, not great. But the ice cream is still the best.

Went there for a friends birthday on the 1/2/25 and wasn’t overly impressed, our party of twelve was seated downstairs where the selection of food was extremely limited as compared to the main dining area upstairs, having to continually head upstairs if I wanted to choose from more of a choice of food was inconvenient, also considering the restaurant was busy at the time I found that the downstairs bar staff were very unprepared to serve which meant we waited longer to be served for drinks, considering the food wasn’t the best along with extremely overpriced drinks I was fairly disappointed hence the three stars there are better Chinese buffets where the food is of better quality and more reasonably priced.

Love this place, was very busy but expected that being Chinese new year, glad we booked, we were put into a side room but was perfect because we had our autistic son with us, great selection of food & very tasty & atmosphere great, can't fault it, been one of my families favourites restraunt for many years & so enjoyed the dragon dance.

Disappointed. It was my first and last visit. £22.99 for Sunday lunchtime and the food didn’t taste that great, the utensil handles were sticky. Teppanyaki was too salty. Deserts were spars and the restrooms were disgusting!

It’s a lovely restaurant with a lot going on. The atmosphere is fun and I love the decor. We came during Chinese new year so the place was packed. We enjoyed the dragon dance. The food was hot and being filled up quickly. Lots of options. Marigolds was looking after our area and she was friendly helpful and polite. Will come back again

We had a fantastic dining experience at Ming Moon Birmingham! The food was absolutely delicious, with a huge variety of options to choose from. From starters to mains and desserts, everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The selection of alcoholic drinks was also impressive—some of the best we've had in a while! The waiters were very friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Overall, it is a wonderful place for great food, drinks, and excellent service. We’ll definitely be returning soon! Highly recommended!

I was pleasantly surprised, I thought it would be good but rushed, however it was amazing! Food was fresh, hot, constantly topped up, constantly cleaned. Empty plates were cleared super fast and on top of that, the waiting staff was friendly, polite and not stressed at all! Really liked the atmosphere despite it being mega busy.

Exquisite food, a lot of variety of dishesdor an affordable price. The attencion of the waiters has been impeccable, especially murat, who treated us with great delicacy and care while we had a few drinks in the bar area.

Overall experience is good. Access is poor if you have a pushchair or limited mobility. Sushi used to be much better quality and salmon no longer served at the stirfry section. Cumin lamb chef’s special is amazing, the madras however not so great. Little Pavlova desserts are lovely too. Stirfry section is still very good, plenty of options available, however dietary information regarding allergens could be better as many dishes were labelled incorrectly. As my son has dietary restrictions we did find this posed a bit of a problem. We have found over the years that quality has gone down a bit, and price has gone up, but it is still a great place to eat, and it is in a prime location as-well. Staff are efficient and the manager is also very helpful and helped us down the stairs with our push chair when leaving

All you can eat buffet for £19.99 per adult on a weekend is great. Huge selection of food, even for young kids you've got chips, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, etc, deserts include a large selection of cakes Mr wimpy ice cream, chocolate fondue fountain, etc. Delicious starters, mains and deserts. Staff are very efficient at clearing away used plates so you can get a new plate each time you go up

Total rip off. Went with my kids (15 & 13) no option for the kids price for the 13 year old. Cost us £80 for crap food and rude waitress and we didn't even have any drinks. Avoid at all costs, will not be going back, there are better and more reasonably priced options in the area.

Booked a table for 17.15, in arrival the queue was outside but went down very quickly. Was greeted by a lovely gentleman then escorted to our table and was greeted by Marigold who took our drinks order, she was warm and welcoming with a big smile Food was plenty and hot. Would recommend. Marigold is a credit to you. Will definitely come back

Niana was an amazing waiter, she was polite, friendly and great hospitality.

I Didn't even want to give one star. This restaurant rudely declined myself and my partner entry at 6pm for dinner this evening because our daughter of 6 months old was in her pram and they didn't want to accommodate that. We felt very discriminated as this wasn't realla good enough reason for not being allowed to eat here. We instead went over to "The Happy Lamb" who were more than accommodating and were more than happy to give us a table with our daughter. Totally disgusting service from Ming Moon would not recommend it!

24/01/25 - Not been for a while and daughter fancied it. Took 20 mins for drinks to arrive after ordering and we only ordered soft drinks. Asked for some lemon water in a bowl for when eating my prawns, and got told to go the toilet! 🤷🏾‍♂️ Food was ok, with some stuff very dried out. Teppanyaki took an age to be prepared even with just 2 people in front of me. Service has gone certainly gone downhill. For £27 a head certainly expected better.

Had a fab night out, we hired the wonderland room for a night of Karaoke with friends the room itself was nice and the selection of music was fab as well. Both servers we had were fab - special shout out to Naina who was amazing, she was so attentive and made the night as a whole really special. The buffet was great, plenty of options including vegetarian dishes - overall a fab experience!

Simply the best Chinese restaurant in Birmingham . There is a lot of choice, and friendly prices.

Unless you go on a Friday or Saturday when it's particularly busy, the food isn't great. Most of the food is cold with the vegetables rock hard (I like al dente but these take the p). To add further insult to injury, the waitress began sweeping and mopping with string bleach whilst we were still eating and had 40 mins left of our booking. The smell was too strong it made us leave our food with 2 asthmatics in our party struggling to breathe.

Good selection of food Our waiter had a terrible attitude. What ever you do DO NOT BUY THE COCKTAILS @@@@!!!!!. Such a rip off , the smallest COCKTAILS ever and tasteless . Had i not been sat down i would have fell over.

Food was great. Karaoke room to ourselves (party of 14). Took a while to understand the machine / song selection. Service wasn't great. Had to wait 25 mins for the room. Staff were rude. Shame as tarnished the evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food. For me, the ice cream was the best. It was really creamy. There's vegetarian food option, meat (pork), rice with egg, mushroom options, fruits, cake desserts. It was a pleasure here. In terms of service, I think depending on the crowd, the staff could be overwhelmed which affects the overall service and availability of staff to attend to your needs quickly.

What a disappointment! Came here after everyone I know has said its a great place to come for a Chinese buffet. The food tasted of cheap quality and was on the cold side. I've been to many buffet places up and down the country and know food is never going to be piping hot but this is definitely the coldest I've ever had. Considering it's £23.99 per person I'd expect the food to be of better quality, everything just tasted cheap. The place itself seemed clean, staff were very attentive and present. I never visited the toilets but my partner did and said they weren't very clean and it was uncomfortably cold in there. Wouldn't rush back here and wouldn't recommend it.
