We generally have many takeaways from this restaurant, but on this occasion we had a Singapore chowmein which was very bland, I would also like to complain about the girl who takes the orders, she needs to learn how to talk to the public, very rude and abrupt

I've been going to thos little gem for 30 years!! The food is unreal and would highly recommend it for any Chinese lover !! Beef is on a different level

tried making an order of 9 chicken balls and she ended it on me, was very rude as i just wanted a scran. also just tried re ordering and she threatened to call the police and told my daughter to f off. 😡🍷#WAP

Think they may have changed owners, as portion sizes are a lot smaller yet the prices remain the same which I don’t agree with, food is nice tho so can’t fault.

Fantastic food go the extra mile and will make anything work for you IE make up meals or adjust a meal to suit, fast delivery and very courteous service

Extremely dirty even for a takeaway !absolutely filthy , cash only payment !! Can not even afford a card reader !! The food was disgusting , oven chips ! The curry sauce was out of a packet and the fried rice was at least a week old and brown and over cooked lumps of curry powder in the tiny bit of sauce recieved , dreadful , give it a miss

This Chinese takeout is amazing always fresh cooked food friendly service it’s a small business that only accepts cash which can be a good awkward now and then but it’s situation on a small side road and from what I know it’s been there a long time,, really is worth visiting I am certain you will go again

I have used Hong Kong Inn for over 20 years. It used to be the best in the area by far but I have seen it deteriorate in recent years and have used it less and less. We have usually had the same three dishes and it seems bland compared to how it used to be. Tonight I tried a different dish, crispy shredded beef in chilli sauce. It was not crispy but more like stretchy, and contained virtually no beef, so was not as advertised. After complaining they reluctantly agreed to replace with a different dish, which was tasteless. I am finally done with this place.

Having used this takeaway for more years than I care to remember recently I’ve felt the standard and taste of food has deteriorated. This evening we ordered several dishes one of them being Crispy Shredded Beef. Now the other two dishes were at best mediocre, the sweet and sour chicken was made up of hard chicken but edible to a degree. Back to the Crispy Shredded Beef. It was neither Crispy nor did it contain any Beef as it was completely transparent & insipid. So it should’ve been advertised on the menu as simply “Shredded”not a very appealing description but then neither was the food. Upon returning my “Shredded” dish to the takeaway they were reluctant to address the issue saying half of the dish had been eaten, if only it had been edible to be eaten I would not have minded. Eventually they offered us another dish, Szechuan Hot Beef. However this was rubbery beef & no better than the other dishes. We’ve come to the conclusion this place has seriously gone down in terms food in both quality and poor taste. And please don’t even get me started on their lack of customer service. If only you could give zero stars….! Sadly they’ve lost a long term customer this evening.

The worst Chinese I've had ☹️Paid£13 for one chicken curry on deliveroo & waited over hour never again & not much chicken init and no mushrooms Nothing like it 20 years ago ,Needs too shut down before all the complaints roll in 😆

The WORST Chinese I have ever eaten! Beef in black bean has no flavour at all and the beef was so chewy! Sweet and sour sauce tastes like cheap ketchup! Would never eat from here again!! Salt and chilli chicken was rock hard!

Me and my wife ordered a 2 king prawn dishes last night only to find they were not king prawns at all just ordinary size prawns, but was still charged for kings, absolute joke, they keep sticking the prices up and then expect to give out cheaper food, and why oh why is this takeaway the only one i know that only takes cash, if they are not on a tax fiddle i don't know who is.

If all else fails this place is always open. Food is decent. Cash only so make sure you have some!

Inedible. Ribs tasted sour like the meat was off, we ordered crispy shredded beef Cantonese style and the sauce was brown. Rice was cold. Called to complain and they said Cantonese sauce is brown. I would have had more enjoyment setting fire to the £20 I’ve just wasted on 3 items that are now in the bin. Give this place a swerve. Never ordering from them again.

Consitanly good, can be very busy, but that I find is usually a good sign of quality.

Whenever I want a good Chinese, this is my only place to go to! Best beef and mushroom curry I've had from any Chinese! People moan about them not delivering but it gives them more time to focus on making the food great so I am not complaining about having to collect, it's worth it.

Me and My girlfriend have been here twice and the food from here is something else, iv been to high quality restaurants, and they are not as good as these.. absolutely fantastic and very clean.. anyone wants to eat a Chinese I highly highly recommend this take away.

Ok been visiting here for the past 30 years plus. The food has been good hence why I've been a regular customer for decades. Visited on Monday 18th of October. I ordered chicken chow mein. There was very little chicken and no sauce. Completely tasteless. My partner had pork curry which he said was also tasteless. Worse of all though, I found 3 black hairs in my food. This made me feel sick to my stomach. I think I swallowed one of the hairs. We won't ever go back and strongly recommend other people to avoid this place. Additionally, they only accept cash no cards which is inconvenient.

Used to love this place and would travel to get my takeaway. But a few things have changed and I can only put it down to the chief. No bean sprouts in the chow mein? So now it’s very soft almost mushy , not for me now!!!

Went in, placed my order, vegetable curry, and waited. Finally got home and was really disappointed to be opening a chicken and beef curry. Couldn't eat it and wasn't driving back as too tired!

ordered a chicken curry and egg fried rice and it was completely tasteless, ordered spare ribs and they were like cardboard and prawn crackers tasteless, save your money and go somewhere else, this takeaway has gone down hill as have had food from there about 6 months ago and was fine, will never order from them again

My local Chinese never a let down food is always hot and always good quality. Staff always friendly and is reasonably priced, tried a few other places local through lockdown as these aren’t on delivery sites but there was no comparison

Very poor takeaway curry. Cold rice.hard over cooked prawns the onions were too big and the sauce was like water 💦

Been a customer for 24 years. Even though I've moved to Alcester I still get meals from HK Inn. Very quick, very fresh.

After moving some 14yrs back, I decided to revisit my favourite takeaway. What a disappointment, the food was bland, the sliced pork and chicken was like cardboard, over cooked and dry. The chef must of realised this, but still passed it off as edible! If I was still living on the doorstep, this meal would of been returned. I don't know if it is just me, but a lot of restaurants I have tried since lockdown restrictions were eased, seem more concerned in recouping money they have lost, than the quality of the food they serve, along with cashonly payments. Never again.

Ordered chicken fried rice and curry sauce, collected in 20 minutes. Service was brilliant, food was hot and really tasty. With the new social distancing measures put in place they have excelled themselves.

This Chinese is the best I have ever been to. I love the place. The food is so tasty and always cooked to perfection. The staff are lovely and friendly. Orders are completed quickly and is very reasonably priced. Wouldn’t go to any other Chinese now. Love it!!

only have one takeaway a month so like to get a good meal used hong kong inn for the last year been really good upto xmas but we have had 2 take aways since Christmas and they have been awful tastless and very watery

La barbacoa de cerdo yEl arroz con pollo frito es increíble. Alguien más comentó aquí que es legendario, y realmente lo es. Si la meca de la cocina que es West Heath tuviera su propio plato, sería este.

Stale prawn crackers. The chips looked like they'd been cooked hours ago and tasted nasty . The few I did eat . Even my dog didn't eat them and he eats anything . Most of it went in the bin. The curry was awful. I'm never going there again

The atmosphere was great! Good Energy and Vibes throughout and customer service was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good time and good Chinese food.

Food was all cold, it wasnt cooked, dont eat here, staff spat in my food, dropped my drink on me and is just poor service in general. The food claims to be chicken but it was actually DOG!!

Been going to the Hong Kong Inn for years and the food is always excellent. I would suggest phoning them first with your order during busy periods as it is a popular Chinese.

Hong Kong Inn tiene que ser la mejor comida china en Birmingham. La comida es genial. Perfectamente cocinado sin pedacitos de grasa en el pollo como lo hace con todos los demás chinos. La salsa de curry tiene una especia y es lo que me hace volver atrás. Eso y las bolas de pollo. Muy recomendable. No te decepcionará. Servicio rápido y amable personal. Siempre ocupado, así que ordene antes de recoger.

I'm.gutted this place don't deliver food , I have moved from area but still make the 35 minute drive to eat on occasions, this place holds alot of memories for me and that taste and quality of food has never changed , really great price and the BBq pro chicken fried rice is the dogs , ask for salt on the chips .. . This is a very high standard Chinese Takeaway, and it is absolutely legendary locally for NUMBER 44 which is BBQ PORK & CHICKEN WITH FRIED RICE, you wont get this anywhere else and once youve tried it youll be hooked for life.
