We are on holiday in the area and saw this takeaway as we drove through Honiton and thought we would give it a go! Wow 🤩 is the best thing to describe the food. We always try and have a Chinese whilst away and this takeaway was by far the best we have had for a very long time. We had BBQ Spare Ribs to start with a chef special chow mein, king prawn satay and sweet and sour chicken balls. All super tasty and no grease. Superb!

Amazing dinner, would definitely recommend we are in the area on holiday and sad we don’t have one this good near us at home!! friendly service, very fresh not greasy fair priced and tasted gorgeous.

Great Chinese take away , it was all cooked fresh whilst we waited, it was all very tasty ( the Thai could have been a little more spicy though). It was all at a good price as well.

Indeed, having had many oriental foods and cuisine from Chinese to Vietnamese passing by Suchi, in the UK but as much in Southern California for 11 years and Manhattan for 1 year, I know about price/quality within those cullinary sectors, take aways included. I am in awe of this place: brilliant service but more so, an extremely well priced menu with mega portions and a taste to die for! The Beef Chow Mein as well as the Honey and Ginger Chicken eben the Duchk Chow Mein noodles were THE BEST we have eaten in years! We know where to go when we need special golden minded TLC Oriental foods wise: this is the place. Mille mercis!

My husband and I have only recently moved to Honiton, and one thing we missed was our Chinese takeaway from Exeter, but we thought we would try Wing Hong and it was absolutely fantastic, the portions were a good size and the taste for me was great. I will definitely be having a Chinese from this place in the near future, and I will telling all my neighbours as it is that good.

Always 5* every time we’ve ordered. I’ve been here 12 years (originally high Wycombe) and it’s taken this long to find a decent Chinese! No nasty additives in their food. I’m a creature of habit so can only recommend the sweet & sour chicken balls and Hong Kong style, the chicken chow mein, the satay chicken and everything salt and pepper. Lovely people, amazing food, always piping hot and they never make a mistake. We don’t go anywhere else

I’ve been choosing Wing Hong for Chinese takeaways for quite some time now- they are easily the best in the area. The god is always delicious and hot, and the service is friendly and fast. The special offer tubs with rice/noodles in addition to the main dishes are great value for smaller appetites or dinners for one!

We too were cautious because of the negative reviews but also noticed the more recent reports were good. Well, the food was great. Sauces tasty and original. Meats and vegetables fresh. Plenty to eat. Great quality. Nothing to dislike at all. Great service. Incredibly good value, including a few free bits. First class. highly recommended.

Based on the average score I almost dismissed this take out, glad I read the reviews and noticed it was under new ownership and the recent reviews were good. We had a mid week take out whilst on holiday in the area. Food was reasonably priced, plentiful and fresh. Curry sauce was tasty, veg were perfectly cooked and chicken was the real thing. Service was really good and will definitely return when next in the area. I would recommend this place,

First time I have been in here since they have new people running it and the food is absolutely delicious!! Beef chow mein just melts in your mouth, crispy lemon chicken was spot on with loads of sauce and they cook using no MSGs. The service was brill as well. I will definitely go there again.

I am really fussy when it comes to Chinese takeaway and only eat from one when at home which I’ve never been able to find one that beats it…..well I just did! The food was all so tasty with crispy vegetables in the main dishes, the sweet and sour chicken balls were light and crispy with no grease and the salt and chilli ribs were also really nice. If you’re ever visiting Honiton and fancy a Chinese then this is the place to go.

We phoned our order through on a Wednesday evening whilst driving back from a day trip, picked up and paid for the order 15 minutes later, and were eating hot and tasty takeaway 15 minutes after that. Excellent service (contactless card payments taken). The food was great value; £13.70 for duck chow mein, pineapple chicken and egg fried rice, which was more than enough for two and could probably have fed three.

Just happened to drop into this take away and I have to say was pleasantly surprised. Was welcomed by an extreme polite young lady who took my order. She was very helpful and it didn’t take long at all. Have been back several times since. Great prices and very fresh.

We had the roast pork Kung Po. It was basically pork with cashews with some chilli thrown in. Not at all nice. Won’t use this one again

We have take from this on our retur from jollys and find this Take Away absolutely excellent, polite staff very clean.and great tasting food.

Ordered a takeaway from here as stated under new management........The food was bland and the beef tough,had to hunt for prawns and the prawn curry a strange orange colour was disgusting.My feet will do the walking and never return a complete waste of money.Come on Honiton can one of the chinese establishments serve decent and edible food please,it is tiresome to have to travel further afield and with no home delivery expense added.

We ordered a large takeaway for the family whilst on holiday nearby. The order was ready within 20mins, hot and fresh. The staff were very friendly. We are a fussy bunch but thoroughly enjoyed our meal-the duck & pancakes were amazing-the meat was tender and crispy not at all fatty and the kung po chicken was delicious too-wish this was our local takeaway!

Ordered Beef Cuury and Roasted Pork Curry and both were very good, We ordered and as we were waiting for our meal I read the reviews on here and thought oh no but when we got back with it dished out up and the only thing wrong with it was the portions were too big the food was delicious and would use again. Ignore the bad reviews they are from a while back and if our meal was anything to go by it has improved by a long shot.

If you like your Chinese food Bland and Tasteless but Cheap, then Wing Hong Honiton is for you. On returning for another take-away we discovered that the business has changed hands. The food quality at Wing Hong has always been very hit and miss, and varied greatly from night to night. The prices appear to have remained the same, though some items are no longer available and the quality has plummeted. Located at 147, High Street, you can often park outside, and the Lace Walk Car-Park is a short walk away. Our Roast Pork Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein dishes were almost tasteless and contained only a tiny amount of meat. The flavourless red gunk they supplied masquerading as Sweet & Sour Sauce looked as though it probably glows in the dark, due to it containing every E-number ingredient known to man! We have suffered enough and will not be returning. All three Chinese Take-Aways in Honiton are now poor, its time to look further afield.

wanted a quick meal to take to hotel chose Chinese.chicken chow mein ?mystery meat could of been chicken but was mushy and spongy.noodles were OK but had an inch of soya in bottom.chickn curry was like a solid gel square bits of chicken as well as the afore mentioned spongy mystery meat.chips hard dry and unpalletable.Needless to say none of it was eaten just binned it and made do with CRISPS!

Wing Hong has changed hands and I'm sorry to say. Just had a takeaway and it's the worst meal I have ever had chips hard and dry. Pineapple hard and onions are chewing and carrots not cooked

Good value for money and lovely tastey food. Worth the visit. Will definately go again. The staff were plesant and friendly....downside....take cash, they don't except card here

Lovely place. Staff are polite and chatty. And they are generous with their portion sizes (not OTT though). Go regularly and get the boys their fortnightly treat. Well worth a visit

Perhaps the most tasteless, poor quality Chinese food i have ever eaten. If you are a local, bad luck, if you are a visitor, find somewhere else to eat.

Mis padres me encanta, pero algo es probablemente tan malsana. Salsa dulce y agria, etc. les ablare Muy adictivo para comer, pero supongo que es el GMS... Buen sombrero en los años 80, aunque ahora, aunque estoy seguro de que tiene clientes habituales...

Por desgracia nuestra primera llevar era genial y allí después de que fuimos cuesta abajo. Creo que depende de quien es el chef esa noche y lo que han dejado de poner en la comida. Como no sabes lo que tienes hasta llegar a casa es un poco tarde para quejarme y la única vez que no estaban interesados en cualquier caso! La peor comida que tuve fue pato crujiente aromático , bastante estándar y es difícil llegar mal que lo creo. Fue acompañada con apio y no primavera cebollas. El pato estaba muy bien hecho que fue todo no crujientes con carne. La única cosa que era pasable era las tortitas! Muy decepcionante que no volveremos otra vez!

I haven't tried a chinese takeaway in Honiton before so opted for this one as I was on my way home and it was handy. I ordered a barbeque spare ribs and a Yung Chow Fried rice. The ribs were thin, very little in the way of meat on them, but the sauce was truly revolting. The colour and consistency of runny dog poo and the most peculiar taste. I'm used to barbeque sauce that's sticky and sweet - this just tasted rank. I scarped the sauce off the ribs in the end. The Yung Chow rice was ok, but had a slightly peculiar tang to it. The portions were small and over priced. Maybe I've been spoilt in the past elsewhere, but I wont be going here again and I don't recommend.

I ordered here with a friend and the food was diabolical. I have never seen so much grease!! The food was disgusting. The guy behind the counter was rude. I have ordered here once! And that will be the last for me I'm afraid

We holiday in Devon every year and every year we always use Wing Hong. The food is very tasty, prepared while you wait so you know you are getting freshly cooked food. The staff are brilliant especially Roger who always remembers us and makes us feel at home this is why we return year after year.

Wing Hong is the only Chinese takeaway I ever thoroughly enjoy. I have never had even a mediocre meal from here, it's always fantastic. Lovely owners, brilliant staff, amazing food. Maybe some people below need to check where they are actually reviewing before posting. 2 rooms? Tables? Wing Hong is one room, and a takeaway only.

Me and the misses comes to this Chinese every Saturday, we always book an hour in advance as they can get incredibly busy, the staff are so lovely... Service with a smile of course! And there 51A crispy chilli chicken is to die for. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else. Stop slating their Chinese it can't be that bad if there always rushing off their feet.

unlike most of these other reviews where most people are either writing about the wrong place or don't know their facts, wing hong is one of the best. everything is made home made hence why when people moan about things not being exactly the same or sauces being to thick - that's because nothing is bought in and it's all made from scratch! the staff are ever so friendly and will do all they can to help! I was once in there and someone had an allergy to gluten - they did absolutely everything they could to give the customer a meal that they could enjoy as most of the things they liked contained gluten! some people are on here moaning about tables? there are no tables! they are a take away and a take away only! also, if there food was that bad why is there always a long wait on food because they are so busy (hence why you order an hour in advance)! instead of moaning because lemon chicken is to lemony or the Curry's are to spicy, why don't people just ask about what they are ordering instead of them expecting it to be bought-in, made from a packet rubbish that everyone seems to love these days. if you want good, honest, fresh food then this is the place to go!

Ordered a takeaway recently whilst on holiday and was disappointed by the rude staff .The menu had a different layout and was told that they don't serve starters !!!Food looked like brown jelly with lumps of chicken and raw vegetables .Sweet and sour sauce was a horrible powder mix and was bitterly dissappinting.Don't be fooled by the est 1975 !!!!

We have stopped in this small place on the way to our hotel for a dinner. It is not a take away only but has 2 rooms and 10 tables or so. Usually the quality of chinese restaurants is not bad in England but this place was really an exception!! The rice and chicken were untasty, bad flavors, some vegetables raw or badly cooked, the mushrooms not peeled well, no sauces , no flavors, a disaster. It is a pity!!! The place is right on the main street and could work.. I believe that locals never stop by and the restaurant counts on newly arrived, but they need to change the way they cook, otherwise they will have to close. TO AVOID.

Wing Hong advertises that they sell authentic oriental cuisine....they don't. After trying to eat a take away which my partner and I treated ourselves to seeing it is chinese new year. We ordered duck and pancakes which was dry and stringy for starter. The hoi sin sauce was plum sauce and was also not very appetising.For main we thought we would try the kung po chilli chicken and special curry. The kung po chicken was rubbery and contained half a packet of cashews. The special curry which is advertised to contain all different types of meat looked like brown sludge. It was so bad I have had to attach a photo! The curry was inedible as it was far too spicy and the consistency was like they accidentally poured the whole container of curry powder in it. This completely ruined our meal and can very much advise you not to go to Wing Hong. We are new to honiton and can very proudly say that we will never ever be returning!

The menu choices are vast and all is prepared for you whilst you wait. The Sechuan dishes are particularly tasty - The ladies of the family have been on extra courses to learn how to make dishes from other areas of China - they are excellent cooks and you never have one of those disappointingly bland dishes that are sold in many places. I have tried dozens of dishes from the menu and they were all superb - I would heartily recommend this Chinese.

Ordered a Chinese with no great expectations but were pleasantly surprised, it was delicious and we will definitely return!

My wife and I had a takeaway from Wing Hong while holidaying in the area. The chicken in black bean sauce didn't have a great deal of flavour but the Kung Po chicken was very good.The egg fried rice and chicken chow mein were no better or worse than from any other Chinese we've tried and as it was only one order we've not tried sufficient variety of their dishes to give a full review.Give it a try though as it might suit your tastes, or your favourite dish might be better than your usual restaurant's one.

Finding a meal for two different generations(20+ and 50+) is never easy as our taste buds are tempted by many different flavours. One thing we both agree on; The Wing Hong Chinese take-away pleases us both every time.Pancake roll, always crispy,prawn balls always crispy, Chow Mein perfect that's my choice with a little curry for sauce! Beef curry, hot enough,Sweet and Sour Pork Cantonese style,spicy and crunchy and of course perfect fried rice, that's my son's choice. We are very happy customers.Well done Lin and Roger, we'll be back.

This was quite honestly the worst tasting take away I have ever eaten. I tried a large size spring roll (£1.95) which was mostly batter and the oil that dripped from it filled a tablespoon. The filling of beansprouts would have just about filled another.A pork curry followed and oh dear!! It was pieces of strange tasting mostly undercooked pork in a thick brown congealed liquid. Horrid, horrid, horrid!!!

Wing HongTiny portions, prawn toast had a very tangy taste, chips tasted as though they been warmed up, dried and cold.Avoid at all cost!, a agree with previous review,rubbish overpriced.

The only word to sum up the food from this takeaway is rank. My sweet and sour pork (Cantonese syle) tasted powdery and uncooked and the chicken chow mein was largley made up of (uncooked) beansprouts. Although we would not have wanted any more of this rubbish it is important to also tell you that the portions were small with small cartons used for both rice dishes and main dishes (Usually larger cartons would be used for main meals). We can only say that from our experience it is never a good sign when you walk into a chinese restaurant or takeaway being run by english people and that judging by the previous review this place has really gone downhill.

Excellent Chinese Take Away here. Good range of tasty dishes on the menu, always ready when ordered and the prices are very fair. TAKE AWAY ONLY.We have been ordering from here for ten years and have been consistently pleased and well satisfied. Our favorites; ‘Sweet and Sour Chicken balls’ and ‘Special Fried Rice’ with a ‘Crispy Pancake Roll’ fills us up nicely for a little over £10. Good and cheerful service, just give them a ring and collect. 01Parking is usually available in the High Street. Be careful not to 'wing the wong' number.
