It is a really nice place to go and eat. Unfortunately we went on a rainy day but I can imagine seeing the great views of the beach and sea on a nicer day. I have the bacon and cheese waffles and it was so nice. I will be hoping to go again

Ordered traditional large breakfast to take away. All food was cooked to order. Lovely locally sourced produce. Was excellent value for money and the staff were warm and welcoming. Stunning views to look at while you wait. Highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️

Called in here for lunch last week on a VERY hot day. I had a 'funny turn' whilst waiting to order, due to the heat? The staff were kind and thoughtful and once I felt better we ordered and stayed for lunch. I only had a plain sandwich but it was really good. Other half had their smothered waffle fries and he said they were delicious. Excellent service and staff. Would highly recommend and return when in West Bay again.

I had been told that the breakfast at Windy Corner was very good and so I thought I'd take a 70 mile motorbike ride to find out. I managed to get my order in before the 12.00 noon cutoff and was amazed at how quickly my pot of tea arrived. I was offered a jug of hot water with my tea, which I happily said yes to. I had hardly had time to pour myself a tea and my big breakfast arrived. The plate was nice and hot and so was the food. It was all cooked extremely well and tasted great. The sausages were nice and plump and meaty and the bacon thick and smoked. I was more than happy with my decision to visit and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again and repeat the whole experience. I didn't try any (this time) but the cakes looked amazing and also very well priced.

Very warm welcome for us when we were soaking wet after a cliff walk. Our three equally wet furry friends were also made very welcome. Lovely food at a good price.

20th Feb 2024, 13:35...... Just had an amazing experience in the windy corner cafe at West Bay Dorset..... As soon as a walked in the lady with glasses acknowledge me and came to help me with a really warm friendly personality .... She showed me to a lovely seafront looking table..... She explained the system with lordering at the till and where the toilets were...... Really lovely buss in the cafe which was welcoming and relaxing to be in...... I ordered an all-day brunch..... Came out quickly and piping hot...... Bacon and the sausages really nice and not just cheap ones...... Asked for toast and them to butter it...... Nothing was too much trouble from all the staff and really reasonable prices...... thank you to all the staff for a great lunch and I will be back again and and again...... Keep up the brilliant job treating your customers amazingly well..... Rob....

Lucky to get a table for 2 without waiting soon after 11am on a weekday. Constantly busy the whole time we were there. Nice location between West Bay harbour and beach on the ground floor of an elliptical building. Floor to ceiling glass windows across the cafe allowing a lot of light and views. Friendly owner, older lady not so friendly she ignored me when I was standing right in front of her saying excuse me. Soon after we arrived they shut down one of their hot drinks machine for 20 minutes, when they were busy. Our real hot chocolates tasted like it was made with cocoa powder. I opted for oat milk and hubby had cow’s milk. Both nice and in large cups. I welcomed my warm double egg sandwich, and hubby demolished his bacon sandwich with gratitude. Picked up a fridge magnet, they also sell calendars. I went back as I had chosen the wrong fridge magnet and the owner/manager kindly agreed for me to swap it with another of the same value.

We have been coming to westbay for over ten years now. We have many highlights when we visit, but one on the top of our list is a windy corner breakfast! Our boys are now 10 and 5 and don’t want breakfast out anywhere else! I think kids are the toughest audience to be fair! Especially mine so it speaks volumes! Always busy, always friendly, alway fast service with hot good food. We love Kirsty and the windy corner crew and will always visit when we are in town. Thank you for all the years of fantastic breakfasts! This morning was no exception! Xxx

After visiting this cafe over a number of years it has gone downhill . Ordered lunch and it was overcooked, cheap ingredients and tasteless food . The best thing about it was my pot of ear grey tea.

Another lovely breakfast from this cafe. Good size breakfast and like fact you can have half and half on toast and fried bread. The cafe is just as the name on a Windy corner, and the name was chosen well. good place to stop for a meal.

After about 4/5 years visiting the Windy Corner Cafe, I have to say that it has been steadily on the decline. The last straw came this week when my friend and I were ushered to a table in the back whilst 3 tables were in actual fact free but 'reserved'. The guys behind us weren't so lucky as they were actually turned away! These 'reserved' tables were all sea view, best seats in the house. Our table had a view of a fence and 10 or so wasps buzzing round which you had to try and seat as you ate your meals. Eventually the guests turned up for the sea view tables and basically nursed a cup of coffee for the entire time we were there. One table had one coffee between the two of them! We always have a biggish breakfast each and this has been a bit hit and miss lately too. One week raw sausages the next raw potatoes the week after that missing eggs? There always seems to be something these days. Unfortunately the standards have been slipping progressively for a while. This used to be our favourite place to go in Dorset but now it is way, way down the list. The biggest gripe is the reserved table thing. This is not the Savoy or even the Ritz. Its a café. Its a café turning people away so that people with reservations can nurse coffee for hours while they look out to sea. People that get turned away won't be back.

Uncaring, unreasonable and rude. Horrible atmosphere and bad experience. The food comes out haphazardly.

We came into the cafe for lunch and sat down. We are both disabled and had to struggle to the table we chose which was out of the way so that our walking aids did not get in the way of others. While we were choosing what to have for lunch a waitress came and told us we had to move because the table had been reserved but the reservation had not been placed on the table. 2 able bodied women with dogs stood by with an appalling aura of smugness. There were plenty of free tables they could have taken instead. They gave an obviously insincere 'sorree' (sic). If they had been sorry they wouldn't have forced us out of our seats. We had to painfully struggle up and leave. We declined to sit elsewhere because we felt very humiliated and undervalued. This is somewhere, as locals, we have eaten at many times. We shall never eat there again. The staff at the cafe were remiss for failing to reserve the table. But we were penalised. If you want to go and eat somewhere where you will feel valued as a customer then based on this experience I would not recommend it.

Called into this very friendly welcoming cafe with my small dog, we were both made to feel very welcome. I decided to have a cooked breakfast which I was not disappointed with, was served with a smile and a small treat for my dog. I would recommend a visit and the next time I’m in the area I will be calling in.

We went here a couple of times for breakfast and it was lovely every time, fresh and hot and very tasty( only issue hard yolks on the eggs one day but we can forgive that as everything else was great). Lovely staff.

2023 reviews on here are bad but we still went. Bad move! Chipped plates, dirty cups, dirty table, greasy horrible breakfast, rude staff, windows so dirty we couldn’t see the lovely view, and the greed of adding 60p a drink for having a drop of oat milk instead of cows milk is pure greed! A litre of oat milk is £1. Greedy con! The reviews pre 2023 were good. So something has changed? Earning a few quid in a busy seaside town and become complacent I recon. Open your eyes before your business suffers!

Very disappointing. When we visited the staff were stroking and making a fuss of a couple of wet dogs . One of the staff then went behind the counter and handled food without washing her hands . Hot drinks were fine but the food was poor so would not go back especially as we noticed the tables were not cleaned between customer changeovers .

Not the best breakfast in the region. I had a small breakfast. The bacon was smoked which I don't like and there was no mention of this. The sausage was undercooked. The tinned tomatoes were tasteless. Too many dogs in the cafe taking up too much room. Wouldn't go back again for food. Okay for drinks as the coffee was good. Would rather pay more for better quality and nicer surroundings. Service was okay though.

Just spent a week in West Bay and visited the Windy Corner for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was excellent and sitting in the sunshine made it perfect. Lunch menu was extensive and service was prompt. Highly recommend this excellent cafe on an enviable position.

Superb fresh coffee and paninis were properly hot with delicious bacon and brie. You could tell everything was freshly cooked and quality ingredients, not pre made and warmed up. Wife had crab sandwich which she assures me was also delicious.

This visit was different to others due to the current situation, with a wait before we were seated while the staff properly clean the tables. This is quite understandable and good to see that they are taking their responsibilities seriously.The staff were friendly and efficient taking into account these changes. The ordering process at the till is more difficult with masks making it difficult to make yourself understood but it worked OK.The food was good, with the portion size being reasonable.The view is quite good. Overall a pleasant experience and possibly we were lucky in that the table we had would not have been free if the people in front of us had not got upset at being asked to wait while the cleaning process was carried out - their loss!

The place was OK but the way they are dealing with the current restrictions is a bit strange, slow and inefficient. Having given trace details etc you are shown to your table and then have to wait to be called to go to the counter to place your order which is then delivered to your table. Whilst this is very compliant, it would be much better if orders are taken at the table by one of the apparently more than adequate number of waiters available, which is what appears to be happening in most other establishments.

Situated in a great location with wraparound outdoor seating enabling you to view the harbour or the beach.All the necessary covid precautions were in place including staff wearing masks. We had tea,coffee and biscuits delivered by friendly cheerful staff.The beef burgers served after 5pm looked very enticing but we didn't have time to try one. Looking forward to returning soon.

We’ve been to West Bay a few times since the Windy Corner Cafe opened but never visited. It always seemed very busy and the tables outside were always in demand, so on our latest trip we took a chance and managed to get a table for two just before midday.The menu was quite straight-forward; a typical selection of sandwiches, wraps, coffee and cakes. We opted for a couple of sandwiches with an iced coffee and a soft-drink, all of which arrived fairly quickly. The sandwiches were well-made with soft, fresh bread and a generous amount of filling, served with some nice hand-cooked crisps. The iced coffee was very nice, perfect on what was a blisteringly hot September lunchtime.Service was polite and quick, and they had an interesting system for ordering to ensure there were never too many customers inside trying to order at one time (that seemed to work pretty well). Well worth a visit.

We only popped in for a drink but it was worth it. Really good coffee, best we’ve had in West Bay so far after 10 visits. Friendly service and sympathetically efficient with COVID protocols.

A huge thank you to the wonderful staff and owners of the Windy Corner staff who got my birthday off to the most perfect start. The service was incredible and your kindness was absolutely genuine - I’ve never experienced anything quite like it in the hospitality industry. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, freshly cooked with really good quality ingredients and the coffee was excellent and hot - so many places can’t make a coffee that is sufficiently hot! I’m really looking forward to returning and working my way through your menu as I saw many dishes coming out of the kitchen that also looked as amazing as my breakfast! Wishing you all the very best in everything you do x

Despite being very busy, the staff were brilliant and particularly the main coordinator at the front. She greeted everyone warmly, explained the restrictions because of COVID, managed expectations for the length of time it would take and her staff delivered excellent food very quickly. It was very impressive to watch. Well done to all.

Popped into this cafe for lunch when visiting West Bay, it was a nice day and we were able to seat outside with our two small dogs.The staff were pleasant and efficient and the social distancing regulations and cleansing were well observed.The menu is adequate, not the cheapest, but it’s in a prime location so probably not surprising.After a modest wait the food was very good , both tasty and well presented.Definitely worth a visit providing you aren’t in a great rush.

From the minute we set foot inside we felt 100% comfortable with the Covid guidelines & how everything was explained to us All the staff were friendly & most helpful, our food was amazing, we would definitely return again and would highly recommend them.
