A lovely local café with delicious food.

Beautiful little cafe. We had eggs Benedict and a bacon and egg brioche. Food came so quickly and it was lovely and fresh. My coffee didn't arrive until after I'd eaten but that's fine as they had literally just opened and it was busy. Would definitely go again!

A lovely cafe with delicious food. While busy they were very busy on a Saturday late morning, the food and drinks came out quickly. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. My poached egg over spinach and mushrooms on sourdough bread was very satisfying.

Easy to get to. Parking was easy. Clean and tidy inside. Fresh food. Oh it was really fresh.

Beautiful interior and a variety of different seating areas to choose from. A small menu, but a good selection of food. The price of the food is reflective of the interior decor. It's a little more expensive than a normal café, but it's worth it to sit somewhere so nice. A couple of issues I had were that no one told me I had to order at the till when I walked in. So, I sat at my table for a long while, until I got up to ask someone... Not amused about that. The other thing was that the toilet I used was a disgrace. It didn't flush properly, fully, or well. When I entered it, I could tell that the previous occupant had been a woman (blood) and it was unpleasant to see. No one should have to view the toilet contents of previous users. I had already eaten at this stage thankfully, though. I imagine some others have been more deeply offended in similar situations and that's something you really need to avoid. Please fix the toilet. I'd definitely go again, though. Just remember that if you go, you have to order at the till. There is no table service...

Called in for a late breakfast, my first visit here although my wife is a more frequent visitor. Really friendly staff and a lovely cup of tea. Breakfast was delicious too but, for a northerner, I thought it was crying out for a bacon and sausage sandwich on doorstop bread on the menu instead of crispy bacon on a brioche with some salad. That’s my choice, don’t let it put you off, you won’t regret it.

Nice place for early breakfast! ☕️ Good coffee, really friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere. 😊 The only downside was they didn't put butter on the toast. 🍞🧈

By far the best cafe I have ever been too, I travel from Oldbury to come here! I love how you have healthy opinions.The services is great and the cafe is clean and has a good vibe, always seats available. Looking forward to going again 😊

Cosy atmosphere, clean and good quality coffee

Delicious porridge and a lovely place to while away an hour on a rainy Sunday morning

I had the “Garden Breakfast” and it came with an extra “free” hair with the poached egg. The waiter initially tried “not to see it” and after a “discussion” insisted that is an egg! I’ve just returned it back. A very weak apology attempt. There was quite a wait as well. The sauce Hollandaise and the smashed avocado were suspiciously sour. Halloumi was very little and overcooked. Baked beans are from a tin and not good quality. I hope that we will be ok! It is definitely overpriced.

Adore the Windowbox. A buzzing atmosphere enhanced by the gorgeous, thoughtful decor. I have been coming here since it opened: so have had most dishes on the menu and enjoyed them all. You can tell they use the highest quality and freshest ingredients. My eggs are always perfectly cooked, every time without fail. A personal fave is the French toast: which I have had many times in the last 7 years- bacon always cooked to perfection, berries always fresh, gorgeous toast- highly recommend. Lovely friendly staff who are always polite and helpful. Perfect for anyone who wants a GREAT coffee. Delicious veggie and vegan options. I look forward to returning here.

A gorgeous gem in Sutton Coldfield. I have come to the Windowbox many times and it never disappoints. Love the atmosphere: always buzzing, the staff always friendly and the food is delicious. Love the decor: you can tell this cafe has been designed with love. I am a personal fan of the French toast, highly recommend! GREAT coffee. If you're in Sutton Coldfield take a trip to the windowbox! I look forward to returning.

The Window Box is a lovely spot that I always look forward to visiting. The staff are genuinely friendly, and the customer service is amazing. The pancakes are a personal favorite of mine! Their new matcha drinks are also a great addition to the menu, offering a refreshing twist that’s worth trying! The Window Box is a cozy place to enjoy a good breakfast and I highly recommend giving The Window Box a visit.

Food was served nicely, however it could have tasted better, there wasn't enough flavour in it, also when I ordered french toast with bacon bacon was so dry it was inedible. Place have a great potential tho, so hopefully they'll get better.

Always had great breakfasts and wrote positive reviews about the window box. Not sure about this visit though. Over cooked poached eggs that were more like boiled eggs and my cheese toasty that was like eating a shoe, so hard and felt like it had been made a couple of hours earlier. Disappointed this time guys.

We turned up and waited but a lady who didn’t come to meet us just shouted. “Down there against the wall” pointing. The table was useless for my elderly mom as it’s to high for the chairs so we asked if we could sit outside and she just said “Yeah!”. I had to clear a table myself to sit down. We ordered and then just sat waiting… and waiting. After a while I noticed people who arrived after us (by a good 15mins) were getting food before us so I had to ask, “Have you forgotten us?” They obviously had. She said, “You’re next!” It was 35mins from ordering to our food arriving and would have been never if I hadn’t asked. It was delicious as always but the wait ruined it and it’s the only place mom likes to visit when she comes over from Australia. Gutted.

As a regular customer, I wanted to leave a more recent review on here. The Windowbox is my favourite place to go for breakfast. The food is always spot on and well priced and the coffee is well made. My favourites anre the avocado on toast, the banana bread and the granola and yogurt. I’ve also enjoyed the introduction of monthly specials over the last few months, it’s nice to try something different when you go often! I saw a review below about surly, miserable staff and it’s just not true or fair! The staff are lovely, always have a smile and a friendly face. We chat with them and they engage with our children, were happy for us when we had a second baby. There’s a real community feeling in there and the staff are part of the reason we keep going back. Keep doing what you’re doing Windowbox.

Nice food with a decent menu, only thing missing from the menu is sausage not sure why this breakfast staple has been overlooked everything else is available 🤷‍♂️

Lovely looking with nice atmosphere. Had scambled eggs which I won't recommend as no taste; perhaps mixed with too much milk, no butter. Bread very thin.

Been going to window box since it opened many years ago now and it’s always our go to place when we have visitors.

Super cute cafe we visited whilst on holiday and they have gf and vegan options. As coeliac it was lovely to have some options that were coeliac safe. The biggest thing that inclined me to to leave this review though is the amount of thought they put into cross contamination when preparing my drink. They cleaned the milk frother spout, the milk jug and prepared it before my friends order containing gluten. I even heard them say 'this is for the coeliac' when passing the drink to each other to give it to me. I really appreciated the amount of forethought they'd put into preparing my drink as that has never happened in my 6 years of being diagnosed coeliac so MASSIVE THANK YOU! It really meant a lot to me and made me feel safer to enjoy my order. Lovely setup and decor inside the coffee shop, lovely looking cakes and just the vibe was chill. Highly recommend! P.S. the latte was perfect!

Food was decent, shame about the customer service, group of waitresses that look like they do not want to be there at all and look pretty miserable. No friendly greeting but a cold stare or glance instead. Don’t work in a customer facing role if you’re going to ruin other people’s experiences!

Quite possibly the worst breakfast we have had in some time - from being given the wrong order, to overcooked poached and scrambled eggs, leathery overcooked bacon, and very nearly non-existent sourdough toast. An experience not to be repeated, never mind the surly, miserable staff. Definitely not a place to go if you want a bit of joy!

My favourite local coffee shop! The staff here are so lovely, the coffee is well made and the food is always delicious. There’s a good choice on the menu but I also like that they’ve recently introduced a monthly specials menu as it’s nice to try something different sometimes! Especially when you go as often as I do 😂

The service was a bit slow but the food was delicious and fairly priced, it was a calming atmosphere and played great music. Definitely will be coming again ! 😊

Most amazing chicken ceaser salad , the power salad is superb as well definitely recommend these two options coffee is fantastic weather sitting in or grabbing a cup to go , the staff are so lovely and helpful and overall amazing cafe 10/10 ☺️☺️

I love this place. I meet friends here at least twice a week. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Its always busy but very organised and you will get a table. Food very good, reasonably priced with the best coffee! My only suggestion would be an alternative to sourdough bread. They used to offer granary but this has stopped. Be good to have an option back. Won't stop me going though!

Great little place. Coffee was ok - hate that they can charge extra for alternative milk. Not so many options with food and very over priced. But all in all a nice place to visit.

Delightful cafe, great toast and tea.

Very overpriced for kids menu. My daughter had a mini cheese sandwich it was normal size sandwich just 2 slices of bread and slices of cheese, no butter! Hence a very dry sandwich which she did not eat. This was £4.20! I could have got a better sandwich as a pick up from Tesco express! It was very disappointing and I think they should review the prices of their child's meals. Most places would do a meal deal for this price.

I had a beautiful coffee morning at the window box cafe lovely staff , fabulous coffee and cake really nice atmosphere. It's a real treat.

Went for brunch with my children, there was a short wait for a table but we expected that. I had the passion fruit & lime cake & a cappuccino, the cake was delicious light & fresh, the coffee was good. My son had eggs benedict & my daughter had Avo & eggs, both served on sourdough. The smoothies were fresh and plentiful. The condiments deserve a mention, they're delicious, the ketchup tastes like a very well made bloody mary, they are also sold so you can enjoy at home. Service was efficient and perfect for us, as we don't really appreciate too much interaction. You can order at the counter or use the QR code on the table. Food was served quickly and everything you need is on the table. We will definitely be back to try other offerings from the menu.

Always my go-to. Never am disappointed. I've introduced many friends to this lovely cafe, and they all love it. Food always on point, smoked salmon, toast , scrambled eggs and bacon is my go to then their cakes are beautiful! Please don't close down!! Lol Thank you.

What a great place for breakfast, we waited in the queue to be seated, the staff were friendly and we could see they worked fast to allocate us a good table. My daughter order a smoothie while we waited and that made the waiting enjoyable. The 3 of us ordered the same item, avocado on sourdough toast and perfectly poached eggs. I particularly enjoyed the chilli jam under the avocado and the dukkah topping elevated the flavour profile to outstanding. Personally I think the coffee at Windowbox is the best in Birmingham, I’m still thinking about my coconut flat white and can’t wait to go back for more.

We have visited this place on numerous occasions, even moreso now that they served bacon..!!! 😂 Lovely little cafe, great quality breakfasts... Coffee was lovely, and they went out of their way to make sure we had a table rather than sitting at a bar stool.... Only downside... Eggs were slightly overcooked, and frilly edged... Would be nice to have runny yolks, and not overcooked .. minor complaint, other than that, definitely recommend..!! FANTASTIC vegan/vegetarian options...👍👌

Came here for breakfast on my birthday with my husband. Food was amazing, so much choice and all served really fast! Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a nice breakfast and delicious food, would definitely visit again!

I met a friend here for lunch and was very impressed. I had soup of the day - sweet potato and chilli which was delicious (the best I've ever had). It's a lovely cafe with a really nice atmosphere and would definitely recommend. You have the choice of ordering at the counter or from your table via a QR code.

First time visit after promising myself for ages... Called in with my boss, we're both chefs at a busy venue in Sutton Coldfield.. I live very locally and have walked past this place so many times, always noticing how busy it is and certainly spot the queues at the weekends... Didn't order food, just came in for a quick coffee, didn't get a private table but sat on stools near the counter... Service was good and prompt, two coffees were served politely and swiftly, both excellent 👌 Although we weren't eating, my boss was looking at food as it came out for service and remarked on the quality and presentation, I'm assured it was excellent. The reason for the review?? It's something no venue can buy... The atmosphere!! Beautiful decor, friendly staff, every table seated with satisfied guests. Not too noisy but the level of bearable conversation throughout gave off a really nice vibe. Simple as that really... Any place can have all the bells and whistles and the finest teas, coffees and ingredients that money can buy but without atmosphere, it's all for nothing. As a resident of Sutton Coldfield and indeed Wylde Green it's great to see a place like this being supported and thriving, showing the corporates how it should be done... Excellent. 🙂

The staff member who took our order today obviously didn't want to be there, she didn't look up from the till , no smile , no hello , but hey, don't worry about us, we're only lowly customers.

Great spot for a wholesome breakfast. Plenty of seating, child friendly. Delicious breakfast and drinks menus waited about 30m for food. Would recommend

A cute little coffee shop in Wylde Green just off Birmingham Rd/Sutton Rd. I visited here for the first time to meet my friend for breakfast and it was amazing! There’s a wide variety to choose from with lots of seating. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict and I can’t wait to return for the pancakes as they looked stunning. Customer service was great and the staff were really friendly. Parking can be quite busy as you only get an hour but there’s lots of side roads you can park down.

Love this cafe and usually it doesn’t disappoint for brunch. Today however I was very disappointed. Ordered the French toast item and sadly it was way off the usual high standards. The toasted brioche seemed warmed up rather than actually toasted and had little flavor of anything. Streaky bacon was undercooked no crisp. Overall no feeling of freshly cooked food. Hopefully it’s a one off because I’d like to see the cafe continue to thrive because there is always a nice atmosphere and too few places of quality in the area.

Top quality food, well presented and not to expensive. This place has a very relaxed atmosphere and is good to sit in peace or chat with friends. Free WiFi is available for use of laptops, mobiles etc also.

Amazing place, Amazing food and Amazing staff

The best breakfast, brunch and lunch around. I am a creature of habit and usually go for a cheese toastie or the avocado toast with halloumi - the portions are very generous and the food is always cooked to perfection. The coffee is great, the staff are always so friendly, and the vibe inside is beautiful. I particularly love sitting in the 'greenhouse' bit round the back, the natural light is really something. I've gone for a quite a few of my birthdays, and no doubt will be there for the next. Whenever my husband and I go anywhere else, we usually end up saying 'Nice...but it's no Windowbox!' It's also a nice place to go alone, I really think Windowbox is an absolute gem, and worth the trip - easy to get to from the train station.

My local brunch place. Absolutely love their breakfast options. Have tried a few different ones and never been disappointed. The seating area at the back is quite nice. I have been here many times and I would highly recommend it.

First visit today and loved it! We will return soon to sample other items on the menu!

Waited over 25minutes for a table as they were super busy. Staff were friendly and working solid. The scan app was not working so then had to que again to place an order, upon ordering food it then took over 25minutes to come out and was stone cold... really disappointing.

Used to love this place however the breakfast flatbread hasn't been as good with flavour as it usually is and although the food is mostly good I feel its just really overpriced, however nice place to sit and have a coffee if you don't mind paying for it

Great place lovely fresh food clean & friendly staff

Usually go to Wetherspoons for breakfast just down the road but decided to give the Windowbox a try despite it being three times the price. Was extremely good food and coffee and the place was kitted out in quirky decor. Was busy so obviously they have found their niche market and I will definitely return in the near future.

The food is amazing as always but the staff very miserable and unfriendly. Not all, we did have a smile from one of the young ladies but generally felt uncomfortable.

Busy little cafe, good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Smoothies are surprisingly good, well balanced selection of flavours. Milkshakes are not as thick as I like but not too bad. The open front and outdoor seating give it a very nice atmosphere.

We ordered 2 pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. There was pretty much no maple syrup on them. When we asked for some more the young lady who brought it over pretty much slammed it on the table and was just a bit rude about it all. The amount they gave us extra was pointless and a tiny amount it barley went on one of the loads of pancakes. The girl who brought us our drinks was rude didn’t Even look at us and slammed the drinks on the table. £25 for a terrible experience we won’t be returning!!!

Fantastic place. Wonderful, freshly cooked food at reasonable prices and great service. We ordered a toastie on thick sourdough, and when delivered, the waiter mentioned it may be quite tough to bite through for for my elderly mother and they offered to replace with ordinary toast. Even gave a box to take the original order home with us. Will never go to Costa again 😀

Wow, a little gem of a place, came here for the first time today, definitely won't be the last (8/6/23) Choose poached eggs on flat bread, young lady that served me, was extremely pleasant(didn't get her name, & i was made to feel very welcome:>) The food was 1st class, fresh flatbread and the poached eggs were excellent! Blueberry muffin was lush & lovely coffee. Sun was shining, so I sat outside, a very pleasant experience. 5☆

Have been twice now on a Sunday morning for breakfast. I cannot fault the food it is exceptional as is the decor. The only criticism I have is the attitude of an older male staff member who comes across as a very rude/ignorant.

I always loved going to windowbox cafe, specially I adored toasted banana bread, but the last time I went the recipe was totally changed, banana bread was bit burnt and there was addition of some strawberry composte or jam that ruined the whole thing. And the pancakes I ordered were not good at all, they literally felt like a rubber. I am giving this review so that food quality and taste can be restored, I literally don't want to stop visiting this lovely place.

I enjoyed the food in Windowbox, especially Avo toast, would call myself and my family regular clients. Unfortunately won't return anymore as the latest order to take out took 30mins to prepare which is a bit ridiculous. I understood if it was a busy day with long queues outside but it wasn't.

I’ve worked as an executive chef for over 21 years and know good food and service when I see it. Visited the window box on two occasions recently and both times I was impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Outstanding service, excellent food, quality ingredients that were presented to the highest standards. Great drinks, friendly staff, superbly balanced menu for the size of the venue. Best experience I have had for along time.

Visited the window box many times, always great food, service and friendly staff. Today, our order went a little pear shaped and had to be re cooked. Received an apology and the offer of free drinks. Thought this was a very reasonable response, no issues. However, the management went beyond this and refunded our meal and still offered complimentary drinks. This was not asked for by me and I was totally blown away by such excellent customer service. As the manager explained it wasn't acceptable service. Thought it was very important to write this review, thankyou !

Popped in about 11am on Good Friday and was just able to get a table inside as it was busy. Ordered salmon and poached egg on toast American pancakes with syrup and bacon Toast Two americano. Came to just over £22. Service polite Meal came after about 10 minutes and looked awesome. Tasted awesome too. Well pleased.

Love going here for brunch with my daughter for a chai latte & food. Friendly warm cosy atmosphere, clean, fast service, food always lovely.

We love it here. Probably starting to annoy the staff we are here so often!!! 😜 The atmosphere is great but the food even better. Consistent each time. Quality ingredients & good price. The menu is not huge so I think this is what helps the consistency. Varied crowd. Couples, families, groups ,people out for a stroll. Ideal for a breakfast, brunch, a coffee & cake or light bite. Staff are varied. Seeing the same faces. Done greet with a smile & hello & others don’t acknowledge at all. A couple in particular we have said they look like they really don’t want to be there 🙁 Overall a brilliant place & I feel you’ve got it just right. Maybe a shout “goodbye & thank you” from the counter of anyone when you see people going. Something you can do however busy you are. Keep up the good work. 😁
