Cosy Coffee Northfield in Birmingham

Been here a few times now and always leave happy! The food is good quality, it's clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly. The cafe is decorated in a cool and quirky fashion with retro items everywhere, so you can have fun spotting something from your youth while enjoying your food.

I visit this cafe regularly and I always enjoy coming here. This cafe has a warm and friendly atmosphere and a homely feel. Plenty of choice and options for food and drinks.

Everything is clean ,tidy and the staff are ready with a smile 2 take your order. When it's done they bring it 2 yyr table again with a smile . Always a pleasure 2 have a coffee and chat in there.

I wish Cosy Coffee Co. was closer to home. We only visit when going to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital but it is a must. Love the full English, love how it is decorated, love the music. This place is awesome

Presentation for the breakfast was wonderful . The only downside for that morning I felt like there was an issue among the staff. Otherwise yes I'll be back.

The Cosy CoffeeCo. Has a lovely homely feeling, and the staff where very polite. Unfortunately the food was a great disappointment, I ordered a sausage egg and mushroom sandwich, I only got the sausage 9and mushroom and had to ask for the egg, when I received the sandwich back it was cold 🥶. I asked for a replacement and got the same sandwich, freshly out of the microwave.

I have on numerous occasions heard customers be extremely rude to staff and the management never intervene or defend their staff.

This was my first visit and it won't be my last. They sell a good variety of food and I can highly recommend their bacon & egg sandwiches - the egg yolks were runny and were a lovely shade of deep yellow.

Just been into Cosy Cafe in Northfield Birmingham and the layout has been changed so people with wheelchairs or mobility scooters can not get to counter because the aisle is now very narrow. When you do get through you are in the way and felt in the way so just left and will not return till it is disabled friendly

Does what it says on the tin. Not fancy, but tasty food, hot drinks, good value, comfy seats and my kids love it, especially the crêpes.

Often pop in for a bit of breakfast or an afternoon cuppa when in Northfield. Can highly recommend the omlettes and the baked potatoes. The filled croissants and the breakfast sandwiches also always go down well. For something mid morning or afternoon there is always a good selection of cakes. I'm sure they are all lovely but I rarely go past their cheesecake. Pots of tea for two are sizeable and will keep you going for a while. Staff are friendly and helpful and the background music is always interesting and brings fond memories for those of a certain age. For the leisurely tea or coffee there are some very comfortable high armchairs whilst the booths lend themselves to those eating something more substantial than a sandwich or a cake. Dog and child friendly with even a couple of outside tables for the hardy and the smokers.

First time here with my son quirky, cosy and friendly lovely food Manisha great waitress pleasant nothing was too much trouble 😋 food portion big and homemade cake was delicious 😋 will definitely be going here again

It's a very bright, clean place to eat and drink - the food is a little pricey compared to other places however, the quality of products are very high so you don't feel like you're being cheated out. Staff are in abundance so you are never left waiting long.

Lovely place and decor. I had the French toast and it was so nice and my granddaughter had loads of strewberrys. Only 1 toilet. Kid friendly

After an hour's drive then a cancelled hospital appointment we took at walk down into the town hoping to find breakfast. We stumbled across Cosy Coffee and what a delight! Really fun decor with lots to look at. Food arrived super quick and was delicious. If you live locally pop in, you won't be disappointed!

What can I say about this place , how have I not been in here before , a step back in time to when the customer's matter, awesome cafe and aptly named cosy cafe , great place to visit filled with reminders of years gone by , staff are amazing food is amazing the atmosphere is amazing to , it also has a children's section with a selection of toys to keep the little ones entertained , a sweet shop with loads of old favourites you get weighed out like th good old days. Can not speak more highly of the place a real little gem , if only every high street had a place like this the world would be that little more brighter , I'm a very hard to please customer but even I couldn't find fault with any aspect of my experience eating here, I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know , well done cosy cafe keep doing what your doing

Nice little coffee shop Vast array of old fashioned sweets Sandwiches, baked potatoes, paints available plus more Slushies and coffees Staff were helpful and friendly One person in our party had a baked potato that was still raw so sent it back but when it came back out was still hard and didn't want to complain again so just didn't eat it..

Wonderful place to grab a drink or eat. Large open pseudo-dinner aesthetic inside filled to the brim with items covering the walls. Staff were delightful and happy. Cleanliness of tables and booths was excellent, and the menus and condiments were clean and organised. Cutlery and napkins are readily available. The toilets were clean by the looks of things, but the hand dryer was broken, and it did smell heavily of urine. Food selection was great with plenty of sweet and savoury options to choose. This did include Cosy specials, too! I ordered Jacket Potato with Chilli and Red Leicester along with a Caramel Frappe, and my partner had a Slushy with all three flavours and a Jammy Dodger Frappe. Service was fast, and the food and drink were delicious. Can't fault or complain.

One of our favourite local haunts. The cafe itself is beautifully decorated with all manner of whimsical items. It almost has the vibe of Monica’s kitchen from friends with its eclectic memorabilia and decor. The food menu is varied with breakfasts, brunches, lunches and specials - and very reasonably priced. Portions are always decent and the service is friendly. The cafe is clean and a although often busy it’s never difficult to find a table. We certainly recommend this hidden treasure on the high street

When I meet my sister in Northfield we always go to the cosy coffee cafe, it's clean, menu good & staff friendly. Always packed. Love the atmosphere.

This has became a pretty regular coffee spot for me recently. The staff are lovely & welcoming, & the coffee is always great. I love the atmosphere in here, it’s a great study/reading spot :)

Went there today with a friend for the first time. What a lovely find. It was clean, warm and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. I requested a cheese and mushroom toasty which was not on the menu. They said that this was not a problem. It was also really delicious. My friend had a full English, this was beautifully presented. I will certainly be going there again and can highly recommend this "Cosy coffee " cafe. Thank you

We decided to go there for lunch but when we entered the place we could see a horrible cloud of smoky oil that was coming out from the cooking area. No ventilation in place that left me with sore eyes. Also my husband had not finished his coffee that a waitress came to take his mug off him. It used to be a chilled out place but now it is like being put on a timer as soon as you get your food!

Love this place, offers a great menu and good selection of drinks. The quality of the produce used is always good too which makes a difference. I had eggy bread with bacon, it's rare you see this in a menu and I just couldn't help myself when I saw it. A definite must visit if in Northfield

I used to have a nice pot of tea here but for some reason it's now a teabag in a mug, which isn't so appealing. It's still a nice place to meet though for a chat with friends.

I'm sorry to say you have really upset us as a family we would visit most weeks maybe just two of us up to eight of us staff are lovely coffee ok the size of ice drinks well that's something else but you have lost that friendly family feeling difficult with pushchairs wheelchairs all these new seats make you seem unfriendly now sorry think this customer is going else where

Sausage baps were OK, the Sausage were insignificant. Coffee was warm. Room for better quality Sausage and bacon.

I go in there for a cuppa and a bacon roll and i get to know the staff who are really pleasant nothing is a problem for them 10/10 thank you very much

I hath been here many a time, and it never seems to disappoint me. I love the food, and the service is sublime, but it's the atmosphere that does it for my family.

This place is such a treasure on the Northfield High Street. The decor insight is great and there is a very chilled, family friendly atmosphere. The food is nice, reasonably priced and comes out of the kitchen quickly. This is one of our favourite family spots.

Very friendly and good service and great tasting coffee

I was incredibly hung over when I came in on a Saturday morning with my friends and their dog (this is a dog friendly cafe). We all sat in a comfortable booth and enjoyed the atmosphere. The waiting staff were all attentive and friendly, fussing over the dog and making sure we were doing ok. I ordered a light breakfast with no beans. The food choice isn’t large here but for a Saturday morning revival it was perfect. The coffee was great too. The real reason I’m compelled to write a review is because two seats away from us a man was having a medical emergency. I could see the staff were caring for him and his partner, making sure he was comfortable and relaxed while the ambulance arrived. They were so good at looking after him that I actually didn’t notice there was anything wrong for a few minutes. The team were calm, collected and professional. I hope the guy is ok. I would recommend this place for the atmosphere alone, but do order the big breakfast and a nice big mug of tea. They also have books around so if you’re on your own you can just grab one and have a read while you recharge. This place is a local gem.

I really like The atmosphere and the decor here. However whilst I enjoy a coffee in this cafe, it would be very nice to eat here as well. As a Type 1 diabetic--- which means I have to inject insulin for everything I eat or drink, -- I have to manage my glucose levels. This means that salads are my easiest meals to monitor the glucose levels when I am out and about. I discover, sadly, that you do not prepare salads so I could not have a meal in your cafe today. Many people now are also Type 2 diabetics, and it is a fact that they too, would, and actually often do, greatly benefit in terms of their health and even remission....from focusing more on eating salads. My usual choices for salad are tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, celery, cheese, peppers, spinach, walnuts etc etc or any similar combination of fresh food. Is this something you might consider providing for your customers in the future please? In the end, we had to go to The Clock cafe, simply because we could not get a suitable meal for me at the Cosy cafe. Thank you.

Love, love, love this place. Lived in Birmingham years ago, but was back here for a wedding and just happened to pop in here, so glad we did. Atmosphere brilliant, decor fantastic, staff attentive, food excellent, everything was just so good. I'm back home now in northern Ireland and miss this place, especially the fact that the tea was made in a proper teapot with a cosy, the works. When I back in Birmingham, this is a must to visit and i will be back

Staff very friendly John & Jenny are brilliant staff they all work hard. They know what there regulars have. It's just a really nice friendly place to go

Can't comment on the food as we didn't have any, but the coffee & service (with a smile & a ❤️ on my latte) were excellent. Will definitely recommend it to friends & will be back too.

The seats are very bad, you need to come in old clothes so as not to spoil the good things, the food is also bad - the sandwich is almost empty without filling and the croissant that I ordered was very dry as a brick. I won't visit this cafe again.

Totally quirky interior- so interesting. Really relaxed vibe with plenty of space so time to chill with our pot of tea. JKT spud needed to be a bit hotter but was pleased to find they sold them. Partner's toastie was also not warm enough. Portions were generous and staff kind.

Lovely cosy place to sit on. Staff were friendly they didn't cater for gluten free or dairy free needs. So l decided have a plan Jacket Potatoe. Went up to order for all us. I asked her. Can we order food. She said Yes. Went through what we wanted. There were 4 of us. She told me that we don't have any of that left which she could have said in the beginning. Sorry we've run out of food. So we had to leave

We love this place. The breakfast is great, drinks are nice and refreshing and the staff are lovely.

We decided to have a late lunch but the kitchen was closed because we were late. They only provided drinks and cakes, so it was unlucky for us not to try any hot food there. However, we're attracted by the decoration and atmosphere. We liked going back to the 60s century's restaurant. I'll be there in the future and try the vegetarian breakfast 😋

A nice breakfast, runny eggs :-) the plate was a little small so struggled a little to cut things in the beginning. Was a bit more than I'd usually like to pay for a breakfast but almost made up for it with the insanely huuuuge pot of tea. I had a few cups and filled my travel cup for later AND still had tea left! 2nd visit: eggs on toast. One runny one not :-/ but still a keg of tea and nice breakfast.

Really nice caramel coffee, great staff and a pleasant atmosphere. It's been years since I was nearby but whenever I am, I like to pop in. Highly recommended.

Standards have slipped here recently went in for sausage and egg on toast it was stone cold the coffee was luke warm and tables are dirty needs a deep clean. Staff used to be welcoming and prices are a always increasing, used to be such a lovely place when first opened now downhill isn't the word.

The design and space of the place is really nice, and always had fast service, but the food (especially breakfast food) has been underwhelming, tastes like a lot has just been reheated. Also there's only one toilet which is crazy for a cafe of its size

Great coffee and excellent sweet treats. It's a wonderful meeting place where you feel comfortable to linger and stay. It's got an eclectic collection of memorabilia and even crafty goodies to buy.

We've just discovered this place, although we've lived local for a long long time. Absolutely love it! Such a lovely atmosphere, plenty of seating and dogs are welcome. The decor is full of nostalgia, and quirky. Staff very friendly and coffee is just right. We'll definitely be making a regular visit there from now on. A wonderful oasis in the middle of Northfield

Always outstanding every time we visit. The food is really good, with plenty of veggie options. Good selection of hot drinks (get a pot of tea - they're huuuuge and come with a wooly hat on!). Decor is right up my street really, as well as the music - lots of old school country and rock and roll (think Elvis & Cash), and vintage artwork. Biggest highlight has to be the exceptional staff though. They really go above and beyond every single day, are incredibly friendly and helpful and are a real credit to Cosy Coffee. Keep up the fab work!

I would rate the food/drink, but I didn’t get a chance to order. Sat in there for 15 minutes, every member of staff that caught my eye and I smiled at glared at me like I wasn’t welcome. I would have understood if it was busy but there were next to no people in there. No ‘hello’ or acknowledgment, so I left. I’d avoid if you want friendly service.

Called in on the off chance. It was nice, I will go again.

A lovely place in the heart of Northfield. A truly cosy atmosphere, with great service and well made, tasty and comforting food. We’ve coming here since it opened, and its great to see it has become a staple on the high street, and quite importantly quality and service standards remain high as ever. Worth coming over for egg and sausage sandwich alone. Highly recommended.

Normally love this place as food is always lovely and love the vintage element of the place However, despite doing good food, they are charging nearly 10 quid for a fry up yet you have to pay for a cuppa on top. As a result of no drink included, we wont be going there again as most places include the drink ie Maya's Northfield (and also offer cheaper food but the quality is not same as cosy cafe etc) Its a shame as the food is lovely good, however the price increases are turning people away. People want value for money. its not a lot to include the tea and coffee with the fry up.

Unfortunately for me I won't be returning to this place, while it's a lovely place to go for dog owners, its not great for me with children. Great for dog owener so if you have a dog and want coffee get on down there, but for me its not my cup of tea especially when there is a massive dog and barking away and looks like it would run off in a heartbeat. Smaller dog that's are just relaxing by owners are much better for ME. Not everyone wants to be around dogs especially inclosed spaces!!

I have been here multiple times. It is god place for weekend brunch. Food is always promising. Cappuccino is nice as well.

I will not be entering this place again, Ordered a sausage sandwich and 2 fried eggs on toast and specifically asked that the eggs be very soft. When we got them he apologised for the long wait, don’t know why there was only 1 other person. The fried eggs were hard The sausage sandwich was cold. I believe they were just left on the side for a good few minutes before taking the order to us. Was extremely disappointed with this place

Unfortunately hot food stopped being served at 4pm, but we were still able to sit inside & drink our coffees and eat a sandwich until closing time.

Absolutely love it here. Been coming every week for a month or so now with my partner and daughter. Came with our dog today and they were really well accommodating. They made her a little drink which she enjoyed slurping up while we ate our food which was equally amazing. Don't think I'll ever turn this place away

Always great service, asked to sit upstairs told ok then had to move downstairs as it was closed. Maybe a sign at the bottom of the stairs may be useful.

I went for an interview here, and I was very disappointed. The woman said she’d be calling me to tell me if I had the job or not but didn’t even bother letting me know. I’m very disappointed as this was a cafe I really liked. Also it’s becoming more down hill as it’s not very clean at all in there.

It's the best jacket potatoe so crispy and so fluffy inside and the perfect amount of butter and filling the salad is always fresh .

Food was cold when 1st come out but was rectified quickly, My children didn't want to leave

Just been in with my parents. I love the cosy cafe. It's absolutely perfect. Perfect food, awesome staff. The serving staff a brilliant and the guys I assume to be managers are spot on. So professional and refreshingly respectful to staff. To many good things to say, the only way to dims out is to visit. Trust me it's a gem.

Wow ! Absolutely amazing cafe with so much old memorabilia. Every where you look there's something else to see. Some items are for sale. Had the Banana & Caramel Crepe plus a Caramel Latte both delicious. Also bought a quarter of 'Pear Drops' & 'Pineapple Chunks' from their huge selection of sweets in old style jars, takes me back to when I was a kid. Plenty of comfy seating. Great cafe for families 👪
