Wimpy in North Devon

Visited Wimpy,after years of not having one.. So travelled to Barnstaple just to have one.. A lovely clean, friendly, attentive restaurant. Everything came out quickly, and was hot. Really enjoyed our experience. Looking forward to visiting again. 😀

I have never been to a Wimpy before as there are none in my local area. However, after finding out there was a Wimpy in Barnstaple (where I'd be changing trains on a trip to Devon) I decided it was time to try a Bendy & Cheese. On entering the restaurant, we were shown to a table on arrival and greeted by the restaurant manager, Hannah (who has been working for Wimpy since 1989!). On request, Hannah told us about the history of Wimpy and the Bendy & Cheese (previously the Big Bender). Hannah was incredible and made my first Wimpy experience the best it could be. I was even given a sample of Wimpy's special sauce! The shakes and the food were incredible. Just a shame there's no merch in store! Thankyou Hannah for a great experience!

Disappointing,poorly cooked and expensive.shame as we were really looking forward to returning as previously good.waitress was pleasant and service considering it was busy.

Excellent lunch. Took my little girl and we both loved it. Jelly and ice cream with real oranges in the jelly. 👌 Very clean and tidy. The staff were lovely. All well mannered with fantastic service. Puts alot of restaurants to shame. Well done wimpy team.

My wife and I enjoyed dining at this restaurant during a recent lunch outing. We were impressed by its cleanliness and the inviting atmosphere it offered. The staff, both friendly and attentive, contributed to our positive experience. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the chocolate milkshake was exquisite. Considering our delightful experience, we are already contemplating another visit soon.

Haven’t been to a Wimpy in years went Easter Weekend with family we were so impressed we went back this week. Excellent food, impressed by the team work, staff were polite and engaging. Cleanliness was exceptional. Well done to all involved

Hadn’t seen a wimpy in years, a day to Barnstable and noticed. Was busy but found a table. Was greeted by a lovely lady and given menu, plenty to choose from. I had an all day breakfast and my wife had sausage egg and chips. It was well cooked and though busy, didn’t take long. Also had a latte. Prices are ok, and given the choice whether to leave a tip, which we did. Lovely to visit and would recommend it

Best place in Barnstaple, foods great always cooked to order, staff are very professional and friendly especially Sam, we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Service was appalling, the woman who served us had an awful attitude like we were an inconvenience. I had asked for a glass of water and the first one had gross food bits floating in it so I asked for a fresh one and the second time the glass was dirty and had more food floating in it! Been coming for years but will definitely not ever be returning again

Can not praise this place enough! Amazing stuff and fast service, accommodates to every need. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Great food, great atmosphere, spotlessly clean and to top it all off super polite staff. Will be visiting again very soon.

Our youngest has never been to a Wimpy so when we came across this we had to take her to have one of the famous "bendy sausages"! The verdict? The best sausage she has ever tasted. Our eldest took her boyfriend the next day as he had never visited one!

Popped in for a quick lunch before the Christmas Panto. Service was excellent. We were under time pressure and the staff made sure we were served quickly. Freshly cooked burgers. Hadn’t had a Wimpy for years but will definitely go again!

Who doesn’t love a Wimpy! Love the food and very tasty, shame these restaurants are getting rarer now, I hope this one keeps going. Personally I think the food quality is better than McDonald’s but not as cheap, but I think it’s worth it for the occasional treat.

Wimpy hasn't changed much since I first went to one way back in the 1970s, so this was prooof that time travel really is possible! The food was very good quality & the portions were a good size. The Wimpy International Grill I had was still very tasty. The staff in this branch were very friendly & upstairs they have the cleanest toilets I have ever seen in any restaurant.

We went the to relive our teenage passion, burgers are called patties as they are truly wafer thin. Real shame. Very busy with families when we went. Sadly we wont return.

A true Classic! Love the original styling…so nostalgic…food tastes just as good as it ever did. Great service and pricing. Love it.

Very (but not over-) friendly staff. A mysterious ‘special sauce’. Surprisingly good vegan burger. Old school chips like you used to get when your mum took you to Woolies for a treat. My boyfriend and I decided to visit after seeing the news about it having a renovation and I could not recommend it more. Our service was absolutely brilliant and so welcoming. The two ladies who served us, Sam and Leslie were so hospitable and lovely. So chatty and kind as soon as we walked in the door. The food was so hot and fresh that the chips were burning our fingers picking them up, the burger was still sizzling as it was placed in front of us, sauce oozing from them like a dream I could never even fathom. We asked for fudge pieces in our milkshake and boy they delivered. Genuinely couldn't have asked for more from this lovely establishment, and would 100% recommend a visit.

Not been to a Wimpy for tiiiiiime, and haven’t managed to pop in before today, having been in Barnie for a few months. It’s a comfortable, easy-going environment, with relaxed staff. The food was good enough, but nothing special. It was enjoyable enough for a lunchtime stop-off, however

A girl came in whilst on a tiktok live. Staff asked her to sit on a smaller table as it was a solo visit which is absolutely fine, whilst she was reading through the menu, a group on tiktok live phoned this restaurant saying the girl had ‘monkey pox’. Staff members proceeded to stare at this girl and make her feel uncomfortable until one staff member came over and said for her to order a takeaway instead. The restaurant was open as usual, but they continued to discriminate this girl. All it takes is to ask a simple question. No one would go out with monkey pox, so for them to automatically believe what was told to them via phone call is disgusting. Do not visit this place, vile staff.

Saw this whilst looking for places to eat in Barnstable, haven’t been to a Wimpy for years, so thought I would surprise my hubby. So glad we came, lovely staff, great choice and very nice food, will definitely return when in the area.Even got a free ice cream pudding with one meal!

From the moment you walk in you are made to feel at home, the greeting you get is warm and friendly. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and the restaurant was clean.

Not been in a Wimpy for a long, long time. Was amazed to see it. Thought they closed years ago. Great Menu. Not how I remembered them but the good was good and so was the price. If your in the area, call in.

Great place, with friendly, helpful, attentive staff good, freshly-cooked hot food. Very clean: everything is reassuringly shiny. Good value, too. I don't remember whether Wimpy was always table service, as I haven't been in one for years. But it is in this restaurant, and it works very smoothly. We had eaten at TableTable in Barum Gate the night before. That was dirty, sticky and horrible. Wimpy was a very pleasant contrast, in fact, it couldn't be more different. 100% satisfied. We'll be back next time we're in town.

The worst burger and chips I’ve tasted in years, the Chicken Burger was so dry in a bun with the smallest portion of shredded lettuce and a minuscule blob of sauce (no onion or tomato which it needed to give it some flavour) The chips were tasteless and hard. My partner had the cheeseburger which was equally tasteless and poor. For 2 meals the bill was a ridiculous £16+ A complete waste of money. It’s no wonder the place was empty!! One to avoid for sure

Burger was alright nice bun and patty. Chips were flavourless no salt on them used the vinegar sachet to try and get some sort of flavour and even that tasted like water! Bad service and very expensive for what you get definitely will not be revisiting the only thing that stopped this from being 1 star was the burger bun

Hadn't visited a Wimpy for such a long time, so please I took the plunge again! Called in for breakfast, which was delicious, good value, and served on proper plates with actual cutlery. Fast, friendly service, highly recommended.

It was great to pop into the Wimpy for old times sake - think its been almost 40 years!!Well worth the visit as you don't see these restaurants very often. Great friendly and efficient staff. Covid process in place and working very well.Loved my burger, as good as I remember. Definitely pre-McDs, this is in a completely different league - better! Slower more enjoyable pace, burgers have a distinct "Wimpy" flavour. My milkshake was really lovely, cannot remember the last time I had one - absolutely fab!Thank you thoroughly enjoyed lunch and it was a great blast from the past!

After not having a wimpy in years due to most of them closing down in the southwest. Made it one of my things to do this year. Good service and tasty food.

Just want to say what a great little place this is.The restaurant manager who served us was very friendly,helpful and chatty.The food arrived very quickly and was delicious.It was so busy it made me wonder why on earth there aren’t many more across the UK.My only regret is not buying a bottle of Wimpy special sauce on the way out.!!Thanks again.

Mike's choice, (I wanted to go to Pizza Express, TBH). But he has a penchant for Wimpy (he was thrilled when we found one had opened near our former home in Brighton). And he's done all the driving to Barnstaple that he deserved a treat.It was a nice treat, and very good value for money. Only problem was that we were right by the door and it was FREEZING.

WOW! myself and sister visited this branch of Wimpy on Sunday 5th Jan, we was greeted by a team member and shown to a booth seat, the store manager took our order and she was FANTASTIC, the food came out within 15 minutes and was hot and fresh, the restaurant was busy and clearly a favorite with the customers, it was lovely and clean, well lit, warm with a very modern look, this is a well run store and all of the team worked well together and seem to enjoy their jobs, thank you for a great meal experience.

I have not eaten in a Wimpy for many many years so what a treat it was!! The food was excellent and my bean burger was just as I remembered it from my childhood. The menu has moved on and there was a really good selection with something for everyone. My mother had an ice cream float which she had not had for years. The staff were really friendly and the food was served quickly. I only wish I had a Wimpy closer to home. Highly recommended.

It was a 120 mile rotund trip to visit Barnstaple and the Wimpy was definitely the highlight.Classic Wimpy delivered by nice staff , quickly and with courtesy.The half pounder was exactly as you remember them, the milk shake thick and delicious, my Wife’s International grill has to be unique to the brand.All freshly cooked to order.Long may the Wimpy continue we be back.

Moved to the area before Christmas and came for a walk around town to see what there was with my daughter and husband . Saw wimpy and thought we could get a bite to eat here. When we entered we were greeted by a woman that asked how many there were. 2 adults and a pram as our child was sleeping, we were put at the back up some steps.. we have a pram with us. Rushed to get a drinks order in yet we hadn’t even looked at the menu as we were taking coats off! Drinks came and food order was taken. Cutlery was thrown down onto the table with some ketchup and vinegar no other condiments nor were we asked if any others were wanted. Food came and it was not the best! In the words of my husband who also attended "for a man from the military and any of those who know the shudder when you hear 'bean pasta salad' - I would rather eat that oily mess than return to this place" No checks were done during the time we were eating, I had to get up to go get more sauce after being brought a thimble of sauce. We had finished our meal and still no one had been. There was maybe 6/7 staff members stood in the pass way near the kitchen talking to each other and not serving or tending to tables that were in. We will NOT be return! Best thing about this visit was the tap water we were drinking. Denise was rude when taking our order! We saw her once during our whole visit, the young girl that looks like she’s not old enough to work here rolled her eyes some other people too

Whenever in the area, we always treat ourselves to a burger from Wimpy. Especially love their milkshakes. I only wish there were more Wimpy restaurants in the area.

Used to be Wimpy's everywhere, this appears to be the only one left! Took my daughter in as an alternative to the usual McDonalds and the food was very tasty if a little dearer from the norm, we often pop in and always enjoy the food.

visited on Friday and enjoyed it so much returned on sunday as well.wish we had a wimpy closer to home.pleasant waitress and the food served looks like it does on the pictures in the menu unlike other burger establishments.extensive menu with plenty of choice including desserts.looking forward to returning when in the area next.

Went to the wimpy today and forgot how good their 1/2 pounder and chips were. Staff were very helpful and attentive. My wife and daughter are both vegetarian so had the spicy qourn burger . You can now even buy a bottle of wimpy special sauce. How cool .

Wow, I never realised Wimpy still existed. Fantastic restaurant, excellent attentive service, the menu was extremely comprehensive. The burgers were out of this world. Please, if you are visiting Barnstable, do pop in

This restaurant is a credit to the franchise. Spotlessly clean ,fantastic burgers, and excellent friendly staff. Living in Birmingham we have to travel a long way to find a wimpy. i'm not saying it's the only reason we holidayed in Barnstaple but's one of them.

A tad expensive for fast food although it is a novel but appreciated experience to have cutlery for such a meal. Being my first ever wimpy experience I wasn't blown away but it did fill a hole whilst waiting for the train back to Exeter. Would recommend if in a hurry although better meals are probably available at the price point.

Having returned from Europe and visiting Barnstaple, an area we know well. We thought we would eat at the well known 'Wimpy Bar'... Very Disappointing!! The Burger had Little Taste and for the Price I expected much better. The Food here used to be so Good... What happened?? I dislike giving Negative Reviews, but I have to be honest in My Opinion. The service was ok, although I do think some areas need addressing.... I was Extremely shocked to see a Waitress go into the Disabled Loo wearing her Apron and after doing 'what comes naturally' came out with it Still on..... Not Professional at all.... Not to be completely Negative, the French Fries were Good.... The price for 2 Burgers, Fries and 2 drinks... £19.00.... Not at all Inexpensive!!!!! I would have to seriously think about Re-Visiting.

We visited Barnstaple on a wet Tuesday. To be honest we’d hoped to find a McD, but the weather was wet and cold and we both immediately noticed the Wimpy sign. I hadn’t been to a Wimpy for over thirty years and hadn’t even realised they were still trading. I have happy memories of Wimpy burgers and desserts.

The once ubiquitous name is now a rarity. They still serve all the old favourites from the 1960's and I should know.

Clean busy place on two levels nothing is too much trouble.Good food and drinks with good service with plenty of smiles.

Visited at a quiet time on a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was very clean and tidy. Great service and reasonably priced.

This was a return to our youth, there are so many fast food, burger and fries establishments why chose this one? Put simply the service was friendly and efficient, the food was what I expected with a twist. The cost is low, the coffee was Ok. So all in all we were hungry and we were fed, do try some of the sides which are a small variation which I enjoyed. Not the place for a romantic assignation but it is convenient for the high street.

For many many years I'd been a fan of Wimpy & was sad to see them disappearing. I visit Barnstaple Wimpy a few times a year. My latest visit was disappointing. On being seated as usual I was asked if I wanted to see a menu. Of course, how else can I decide what to eat? Why they changed to not having menu's on tables is beyond reason. Maybe it is to give the huge amount of staff stood around something to do! I was shocked at the price of the meals, pricey to what they used to be! My meal arrived promptly which wasn't exactly hot and within minutes was cold from the chilly wind coming through the opened double doors. Along with the ever blowing cold air-conditioning how is food to stay hot/warm? The burger was completely tasteless & grey , not a quality burger. This I noted on a previous visit but gave Wimpy the benefit of the doubt & returned. This was my last visit to Wimpy. I much prefer McDonald's - tasty hot burgers & excellent value for the money.

While on holiday in Devon, browsing the high streets of Barnstaple we came across wimpys. Having not had breakfast, we thought we’d make it our lunch, especially as knowing the brand name as a reputable chain, and it’s style of American diner-esque food and atmosphere. However straight from the bat that went downhill quite fast. Multiple signs said ‘wait here to be seated’ etc. But we’re quickly waved by someone on the front counter to sit ourselves down. (As someone who works in hospitality I found this very peculiar) once sat, we were just left until some man came and dropped some menus on our table. Not a peep, no welcome chit chat, nothing welcoming, it felt as if we had let ourselves in and we weren’t welcome at all. Of course I’d understand somewhat if they were busy, but a half empty restaurant, and 7 members of staff working with 4 wait staff just standing on the side lined up waiting for their mundane shift to be over, looking as though they’d been slapped with a wet sock. We placed our order, and our drinks were brought over in sometime, and practically thrown on our table. Again, no words spoken. Our food arrived in decent time, we had burgers, with mozzarella sticks and onion rings. Burger was horrible, the bun was dry, beef patty nothing to write home about, onion rings were burnt, it just wasn’t worth the money at all. The whole experience was a dampen on the day, would’ve gladly spent our money elsewhere. If you like sitting down in a try hard American diner that could also pass for a kebab shop at 2am, being stared at by teenage waitresses who are just offended by your presence, and mediocre, if not downright awful food, this is the place to go.

VIsited the Wimpy Bar last Monday. Hadn't been to one for years. The decor was very much how I remembered it. We were served by a really friendly lady who had a little chat with us.

My husband & I were looking for something to eat on a busy Saturday lunch time and opted for a Wimpy as we hadn't been in before.

We had an excellent meal - exactly what we ordered (including the additions/amendments we requested). The staff were very efficient, welcoming and attentive. We had a great chat with the Assistant Manager who was very engaging and enthusiastic. We shall return.

Good selection of eats freshly cooked.Upstairs and down all patrons are looked after well every visit.

Took my grandchildren here for lunch between Christmas and new year , very clean , plenty of seating , great menu to choose from with plenty of offers plus mix and match prices

Normally love this restaurant but my last couple of visits have been very disappointing.

Always prefer Wimpy to any other fast food restaurant. The staff are very friendly and committed to making your meal enjoyable. Table service as standard.... Always clean and food yummy .....

I love to pop in here either for a coffee or sit down full English breakfast also the cheese burgers are lush and not forgetting the milkshakes. The staff are always happy and very welcoming I cannot recommend it highly enough it's always clean a pleasure to visit at any time highly recommended.

My daughter spoke of her wonderful experience at wimpy Barnstaple so I agreed to go there. Well what a surprise I had the staff were wonderful, the menu was extensive, the breakfast arrived quickly, was hot and cooked to perfection.

Im come here very often to enjoy a lovely Wimpy Cheeseburger. Brings back those childhood memories. The staff are always cheerful and friendly.

Growing up in Barnstaple, Wimpy has always been a treat to go with my family or friends and I’ve never had a bad visit! I’ve been as a child, as a teenager and now as an adult and it is still the same friendly safe family environment I remember as a child.

I love coming to the Wimpy, the service cannot be beaten. Quick, efficient, friendly and very very tasty! The food was freshly cooked, very tasty and very filling.

My husband and I were pleased to see an old fashioned Wimpy, with waitress service and proper china plates and cups!!

Went into the Wimpy friday 15/9/17, myself, hubby and mum, staff were great as was the food, even made a comment that we didn't even realise that wimpy still existed, it must be at least 30 years the last time we had been in one. The staff were quick to seat us and take our order, food was delivered quickly and boy it brought back some memories, it tasted great. The location is fab in centre of the high street, great place to stop and eat, also very clean. A big thumbs up to all the staff

30 years ago was the last time we ever saw and entered a wimpy we couldn't resist when we saw that sign ... glad we did memories came flooding back absolutely awesome from service to fresh cooked food , waitress service impeccable... Guaranteed when were here next our first port of call will be wimpy.Thank you for the amazing food and we will not be leaving it that long next time..

Had a lovely lunch with my little princess. We served politely by a lady called Florence. The food was lovely. My daughter had a king burger, a burger with a sausage in and then a bowl of cream and choc sauce. I had a grilled chicken salad which was lovely and I didnt feel like I was missing out. The child's menu has a board game on the back which was great fun. Highly recommend.

Haven't been to a Wimpey for a while now, so went to the one in Barnstaple with family. Wasn't disappointed at all, the staff were fantastic very helpful and polite, tables nice and clean. The food was lovely cooked how a burger and chips should be cooked and fresh. Will be going back again as was such a good experience.

Called into the Wimpy, in Barnstaple, for our lunch. We ordered one The Great Wimpy Breakfast, one Open Mushroom Burger with Chips and one Double Wimpy Cheeseburger with Chips. We also had two Cafe Lattes and one Diet Pepsi. The meals were first class, and the drinks were as they should be. After our main lunch, we ordered one Eton Mess dessert. It was beautifully cold and there was plenty of fruit as well. When we visited, the staff were run off their feet, and were very busy. They coped brilliantly, and were very pleasant and friendly the whole time. I would recommend this Wimpy, 100%. They are the only Wimpy that we would visit!! First Class service and staff!!

Wimpys have disappeared from most UK high streets since I was small and I don't think I've had one in about 15 years, so the husband and I decided that we were going to have a bit of a nostalgia trip while we were in Barnstaple. The restaurant is kept very clean and we were seated upstairs by our friendly waitress. It is a bigger place than it looks from the outside so we didn't have to wait for a table. Unlike McDonalds or BK you order your food from a waitress, and then you pay afterwards which is a little bit more laid back than other fast food venues. I picked a cheeseburger and my husband went for the bender in a bun (a sausage in a ring so it fits in a round roll) all with chips. We were served quickly and the food was tasty.If you don't have that nostalgic feeling for Wimpy I could see you scoring it a little lower, because it is fast food. I would definitely go to this Wimpy again if I was in Barnstaple though, because the staff were friendly, service was fast and the food was nice. They also offer a slightly broader menu than other fast food joints, with options like the fish finger or quorn burgers, toasties, and all day breakfast giving you something different to choose from.

It's been years since I visited a Wimpy. Overall it was clean and tidy. We stuck to ordering from there classic menu. Unfortunately the ordering machine the waitress had was playing up. We ended up with a wrong burger being sent. It was replaced fairly quickly. This meant my son was left eating his when we had all finished though.Not bad but not the best!

Having had a really bad experience in a cafe on our arrival this morning to the town by train. We were more than grateful to be looking forward to our return visit to our old favourite in Barnstaple..namely the Wimpy. Not only are the staff without fail always very welcoming and attentive but the place is kept spotlessly clean and the food is superbly cooked. Thank you.

Yes back again for a pit stop at our favourite eatery in Barnstaple. Restaurant clean and bright as ever.Service was fast and food well prepared and cooked.All staff, as usual very welcoming, friendly and attentive, even advised us that our local Wimpy in Newton Abbot was to close. Hadn't heard that. Great shame, as this whole organisation has been familiar to us for years...long before the dreaded Maccy D came on the scene!Good to hear that Barnstaple's Wimpy is safe though.Be back soon!

Great for a quick snack, much better than McDonalds. Convenient situation in main street. Tasty fast-food and of decent quality.Suits me fine.

Unfortunately like many, whilst on a weekend break in Barnstaple (lovely town) we had to experience the classic 'Wimpy', so disappointing.. the service staff were very intentive, happy and helpful.. really looked forward to have that old wow Wimpy burger experience.. Milkshake lovely, as for the burgers.. basically..Raw, they were the frozen cheap type, literally flipped once on the grill and served.. absolute horror.. they were pink, tasteless and absolutely dripping in fat..took one bite, and a pool of grease dripped on my plate. Extremely unhappy,..Never again, no one had the initiative to ask how was your meal, or is everything ok?.. Even when I finished and went up to pay..(Debbie) at the till was far too busy gassing with another member of staff to even make any conversation whilst taking my payment!.. Very Very disappointing... never before had such an awful burger, so sad, looked nothing like all the pictures. Will not be recommending.. So disappointed..

Lovely family lunch! Opted for the double deal two chicken burgers and chips for £12 and a strawberry thick shake! Very nice! Easy place to take the kids without them moaning because the food is so quick!!!!

Was not expecting much to be honest and that was what me and my partner got her burger was WARM not hot!! And the food taste of nout as a chef I was expecting a bit mor than what we got shame will not be going back

Went in here for a quick meal late afternoon before doing a spot of late night Xmas shopping. Hadn't been to a Wimpy in years so was keen to see what they were like nowadays. Inside was bright, tidy and tables were clean. I ordered a 1/4 pounder burger with fries and a diet coke as I thought that would be a pretty safe bet. Sadly the burger was the worst I've had for some time. Totally tasteless and the meat looked like it was straight out of the freezer. Bland, bland, bland. The fries also were obviously low priced frozen ones and again not great.The service was average at best and the staff seemed in a hurry to get me out to be honest.Safe to say I wouldn't recommend it nor will I be going back.

Yes back once more for our regular visit to Barnstaple. As usual we found the restaurant clean and all staff, without exception were very welcoming and attentive. My wife had breakfast and I had fish and chips. Both served very timely hot and decent size portions. The restaurant staff are a very friendly team and genuinely made us feel welcome. Always look forward to coming into Wimpy when in Barnstaple.

My husband and I fancied a burger so decided to try wimpy, we patiently waited to be seated and were told to sit anywhere which was fine but we weren't given any menus so sat down and waited for a waitress to attend to us. We sat there for ten minutes possibly more and nobody came to us at all not even to ask us if we would like a drink, It wasn't overly busy and the waitresses were handing menus to all the other customers that came in after us. We ended up leaving without ordering as honestly we felt as though our custom was not wanted.

The fish was smelling strange. The waitress asured me that is ok and she changed the meal for me. I had chicken like my girlfriend which was nice. Won't come again

Went in for a meal with my girlfriend, it was almost empty. Food came quick enough, food was to be expected. We were sat in our table enjoying our meal, as we were sitting there the waitress was stood over us, joining in in our conversation. At first we were polite and spoke back, but in the end we rushed down our meal and left, as she seemed to take our politeness as a cue to stand there for the duration of our meal and join in our conversation. Will not go there again.

Nice staff, served promptly. Only fault I find is no toast or fried bread with the breakfast however it doesnt say it comes with it.. But surely for the price of a slice of bread would really make it a top notch breakfast. Again it's not the shops fault more a hq fault.

Today we went to Wimpy in Barnstaple, for the first time in a year. It certainly has not changed. The quality of the food and the friendly service, is very high. The woman who took our order was very friendly and chatty, and was very efficient in every way. We ordered: Open Mushroom Burger and Chips, Double Wimpy Cheeseburger and Chips, and an All-day Breakfast. For dessert we had an Eton Mess. The drinks were served up first. All the women staff were friendly and very fast and efficient. We were shown to a table straight away. I would definitely recommend this Wimpy. It truly is our favourite.

We went into the Wimpy not expecting much to be honest as we hadn't been in one for many, many years... but were happily surprised! The food was really tasty and cooked well, the staff were all friendly and waited our tables well.Overall, we were pleasantly surprised!

Hadn't been to a Wimpy in over 20 years (there don't seem to be any in Norfolk where I live).It's like an upmarket McDonald's. Staff were friendly and attentive and the table service was spot on.Food was cooked to order and was hot and fresh and was good value for money.Brought back fond memories of my childhood.

Just a good always. The burgers are still the best you can get, moist juicy and really tasty, nice soft buns. always a smile. still have some of the old favorites on the menu, cannot go wrong really. They have introduced some now things like jackets and toasted sandwiches which are good.
