Recognisable as a hangout for media types having meetings during the day it's a good space to relax in. Light, airy and unpressured. Certainly decent for a good feed or light snack.

Nice food in a large spacious venue. Some of the food has a Middle Eastern twist which is refreshing in the northern quarter.

Worst meal & worst cocktail I’ve had in Manchester. Friendly people but terrible.

Just avoid it, honestly. No food was coming out. A full restaurant just waiting. The staff didn't even seem to have noticed. Can't rate the food as we never got it. We left after 45 min and went to greggs.

Gave it the benefit of the doubt. One server was nice another was rude upon leaving and felt sick after eating there. Wouldn’t go back ever.

Sunday afternoon and a good little bit of live music plus cracking burger

10% service charge for absolutely dreadful service!!!!! We had breakfast there. Hot drinks took forever to come. When they did, coffee was burnt and tasted sour. The people on the next table received their food prior to their warm drinks and when asking a waiter if their drinks were on their way the response was “we only have one guy doing coffees for everybody here so it will be a wait”. Unprofessional response & considering the coffee machine was visible to customers it didn’t seem to be in very much use so not sure where this “one guy” was most of the time? Staff standing behind the bar chatting and neglecting tables, avoiding taking orders, turning people away instead of just turning tables and working quickly. Staff team all poorly presented, moving so slowly and unproductively it almost looked like they were still going from being out drinking the night before. It felt like staff didn’t feel breakfast service was necessary for money making and that the bar makes the most income of a night time, so therefore breakfast service was half-hearted. If staff feel this way then it may be wise to make a decision about the necessity of trying to accommodate breakfast in a pub environment. When visiting the bathroom facilities it seemed obvious that the venue is mostly established for raves and messy nights which felt confusing. Maybe a need to focus on a specific business model or perhaps some more attention on the breakfast/daytime element of the business. Food was okay but nothing amazing. All “toast” hadn’t been toasted so was just bread underneath the rubbery eggs & lukewarm baked beans. All in all the food wasn’t nearly enough to compensate for the awful service. Asked for the bill… took 20 minutes to receive it and once paid there was no “Thank you for coming guys, have a great day! See you next time”, the waitress simply just walked away with the card machine like she couldn’t care less now because they got the money. Will not be back during the day or night!

The food was good when it eventually arrived. Service was pretty poor. The prices on the menu didn't match the more expensive ones on the till and the staff attitude was "do you want it or not?" The food took forever due to a new menu the day we visited. It had 3 options. Haha. The furnishings were looking shabby. I'm sure if you visited in dark hours, with more clientele and just went for drinks, it would be a decent bar.

Went in for something to eat before a concert. Friendly doorman and bar staff. Nice pint and really good steak and fries. Was quiet as it was late afternoon. Would recommend

The place was pretty empty but decided ti give it a go. Dj was good and loved the music. Toilets were awful. Disgusting and dirty. Such a turn off. Only stayed for one drink. Shame, as the bar has potential.

What an experience! This was the place to be after six (6) hours following the missus about, in and out and up and down of the Arndale and other various shops. Straight in and bang, served without a moments notice. Two pints of Stella Artois to wet thy whistle; an investment for my tastebuds. Admittedly, we’d originally booked elsewhere but Wilson’s now-inferior competitor decided to ignore our request to alter our arrival time by thirty (30) minutes. We agreed to settle here and make use of the sustenance on offer. Firstly, we are grateful for the warning to avoid the Mezze sharer by a member of staff due to its enormous stature and girth - it’s true, we wouldn’t have handled it. Nachos for a kick-off and they were good. Fresh and light, plenty to go around and plenty left over too, although we were wasteful, I would recommend this for a party of 3 or more. Mains - a couple of burgers for us de led. Altered halloumi for my lady friend (kudos to chef for removing absolutely everything BUT the halloumi, I know…) and for me, the buffalo chicken burger; it was four times lush, and I mean lush! Quality and where it’s concerned; turning attention to variety and options, varied but not extensive, I’m a fan of that. Had zero issues with the meals and both were thoroughly enjoyed. Comments on price; competitive for town on both food and drinks - the quality doesn’t differ from a more premium location/ environment but the atmosphere wouldn’t be there - thrilled to have heard some classic numbers by Leo Sayer, overhead. Staff were excellent and supported us throughout our journey at Wilson’s. We will be coming back. Special mention to the great secluded and surprisingly brutalist smoking courtyard too, linking the adjoining hotel. Buffalo Buffalo all the way!

The pool table is a great addition in here. Toilets are gross though and need sorting.

Good food I had the gyros which was extremely nice. The service was very good and prices were fair. I would recommend this as a go to restaurant for a good lunch or night out

Honestly, I’ve had better breakfasts at my local Tesco cafe… the service (or lack thereof) worsened the meal. Only redeeming feature was the sun outside and decent tunes from the DJ.

I got no food, waited for an hour. There is no taste in juice.

Atmosphere was good, food menu is to be expected as a brunch offering and food was decent. However service was not amazing, lack of engagement, eye contact and genuine warmth from the team. Service felt disingenuous. Replacing the Wetherspoon style cutlery would also be recommended.

Ordered waffles with fruit and crème fresh etc. However, very stingy. Only had TWO blueberries and HALF of a strawberry!! And plain yogurt as the crème fresh! Very disappointed!

Pretty shocking venue, suspect it's playing on the tourist trade and a few die hard regulars. As with many of the reviews I have to agree the service is atrocious. The dude with long hair and wearing a cross with a tattoo on his arm, saw I arrived and stood at the bar, no acknowledgement, I get you're making a single Margherita slowly but there's no reason to not say "hello be with you in a minute" or anything similar, guess it's easier to ignore people. The guy wearing the NY Giants top, he was super friendly and attentive. If I was the owner I'd be looking at why your staff aren't all acting in a similar manner, sure maybe the first dude has had a bad day but to ignore customers (I saw others with the same treatment when they arrived) is just going to drive away business. There is also certainly a slight 'pong' from the toilets coming up to the bar area, maybe needs looking into. Came to find food as a solo person, had a beer and left, I'm not going to risk food based on the quality of the customer service.

Terrible, terrible service. We went there on Saturday night and it was quite busy. We ordered drinks at the bar, but since all tables were taken, we sat at the bar. Five minutes later a bar staff told us that we can't sit here. We asked where should we sit since all tables were taken. She pointed at some dirty filthy table full of someone's food leftovers and spilled drinks. We said it's dirty and if someone can clean it for us. But she kept saying like a robot that we can't sit at the bar. We left the venue for a more welcoming place around the corner. That bar staff should be ashamed of herself.

Please don’t waste your time or money! Firstly, they will not take cash payment. No signs up anywhere to let you know of their card only policy, you only discover this after placing your order. 3 of us, 1 meal arrived and we waited 50 mins for the other 2 meals to arrive. The burgers themselves were not too bad. The staff were not very helpful and one of them was particularly dirty looking with filthy shoes on. We were given a free round of drinks as compensation, but we won’t be going back, many other places to eat in Manchester.

Great cafe for breakfast / brunch or lunch. We ordered Full Vegan Breaky with smoked salmon option and it was absolutely delicious! As for drinks, we ordered Mocha with almond milk and it was equally scrumptious. The staff are courteous and friendly. So far best breakfast cafe in Manchester city centre. Definitely recommend to visit and we will be coming over here again next time too!

Great food, appalling service. Vegan breakfast includes halloumi, which is not vegan (and yes we asked). Messy to take our order, messy to bring our drinks. No one bothered checking we were all good which is extremely rare in the uk. Neds steak knives. Also weird to see all dirty plates stacked in front of the bar. But The food was good. Banana bread excellent. Good music.

Toilets had no working taps, saw guy loading the coffee machine out the lid on the (dirty) floor, then back on the container. Vegan breakfast comes with halloumi (ie not vegan) - asked for it on a side plate for a friend to have, but they didn’t do that. Forgot two drinks. But, food was very good. Banana bread was incredible.

The only thing this place has going for it is the food. Everything else is unfortunately awful. Turning up we weren't greeted for ages, and when they eventually came to speak to us the lady said they didn't have any tables but we could see a table leaving and had to point it out to her. Once seated it took ages for someone to come and take our order. One of our group ordered the vegan breakfast, which comes with Halloumi?? 😂 That is not vegan, so that's weird. When our drinks arrived they missed off two drinks from the order for a party of 4. When we eventually ordered our food we sat and watched the staff. One refilled the coffee machine and placed the coffee lid directly on the floor. The men's toilets were completely out of order, urinals, cubicles AND taps. The person who took our order was completely disinterested and rolled his eyes when I asked for drinks after he thought we were finished ordering. It took forever to get the bill and we had to ask two separate people. They weren't short staffed, we could see loads of team members but none of them seemed to care. The food was really nice, highly recommended the banana bread if you can get a table and find a waiter.

sol prepared the perfect old fashioned for us - it’s a cocktail I judge a place by, and they went above and beyond. incredible! he came over and explained the process. i recommend to anyone.

Had an americano, looked like someone spooned instant coffee powder into boiling water and forgot to mix it. Staff seemed uninterested. Overall just a sad experience.

Food was great but service was awful. One poor girl seemed to be working very hard but the rest of the staff couldn't seem less interested. Waited 20 mins for anyone to acknowledge we wanted to be seated. While we waited for food, I seen at least 12 people leave before ordering. A couple near us sat for 30 minutes and no one even took their order. When I asked for the bill, the guy who said he would bring it was more interested in going outside to talk. Such a shame, great location and food but awful service They automatically add a 10 percent service charge on as well. Seems this place needs some management on the floor and it could be so much better

First time here and its nice and lively on a Friday afternoon/ evening but when you go to use the toilets they leave a lot to be desired, mens not great but after my wife said that in the womens there are no locks on the toilet doors, rubbish on the floor as well as urine giving off a lovely aroma...a very unsanitary environment

The location is spacious, providing lots of seating compared to many crowded places in the Northern Quarter. The drink options are diverse but somewhat pricey, I spent over £6 on a spiced rum and coke, served in a very small glass. The food was decent, although the Korean-style chicken burger mentioned on the menu turned out to be more of a classic pub-style chicken burger (with a lot of lettuce).

Charged twice for beef noodles without any beef. staff laughing and said it had been ordered without meat by mistake but looking at the bill we’ve been charged twice for their mistake food was below average anyway. £24 for a bowl of noodles? The worst place I’ve been to in town.

Why do they pretend to do food? Ordered the curry which was tiny and bland but also got the beef noodles for my son which came with not a single piece of beef. Honestly there was not one piece of beef in the entire dish. It was like a 25p pack of ramen for the most expensive dish on the menu. I took it back and the staff found it funny and said it had been ordered without meat by mistake . A second dish came out with 3 pieces of beef and my son ate it because he was hungry but this was a disaster. Staff laughing and atrocious food. Quickly learned why this place was empty. Give it 9months and it will be closed down.

Wilson's Social is a such a cool place - the perfect spot for the first beer of the night if you're staying in Selina NQ1 next door, or for a great breakfast the next morning. Love it!

Me and my wife called in this place on Sunday for some breakfast a pleasant young lady took us to a table and gave us a couple of menus which we browsed for a few minutes. Then a few minutes after us another couple cam in got a table then a group of lads about 10 in total came in both the group of lads and the other couple had their orders taken before us, we waited another 5 minutes and still nobody came to take our orders at which point we got up and walked out it was very very poor non service we won't be back.

Food is left on the sides with drinks going cold time after time. Door open with customers waiting so freezing. Lots of complaints around us with some orders not arriving. Cold food and drinks. The food could and should be fine but it’s left on the side with hot drinks for long times ? Both arrive late not hot. We had to get our oven condiments and cutlery despite asking. Other diners like us continuously asking where food was etc. others had food arrive totally different times. Also it’s so uncomfortable sitting near the door when people are stood waiting with the door wide open. The place needs things tweaking and it would could be much better but until then we all said we would just go somewhere else in future.

Took about 15 mins before anyone took our order, another 25 mins for our food to come out. Nothing complicated - just egg on toast and it was cold, coffee was cold also. Some staff were friendly but didn't really seem to know what they were doing. Would not rate this place at all.

I don’t think I have ever been to a place with such bad service - not only in Manchester but anywhere! Having had to queue to get in, we realised why, on observing somebody clearing a table one item at a time! Have they not heard of trays?? Service was literally non-existent - we had to ask for everything, cutlery arrived some minutes after the food, condiments after we had finished the meal. The worst thing was the staff really did not seem to care one jot. Don’t know who owns this place but they would make a lot more money with vaguely competent staff. Food was average. We will not be returning.

Sadly not a great experience, food was good once it arrived after over 1 hour wait. The service is shocking. The staff are clearly not trained to deliver any level of great customer experience. Was told that the staff are all new and the longest standing staff member is the only one that has been there over 2 weeks. I saw numerous customers complaining and even walking out after long wait for their order. The supervisor decided to go on his break in the middle of busy service and unhappy customers, this clearly shows me the commitment the management have, if the staff don’t want to deliver hospitality worth being proud of give up and stay at home. Won’t be visiting again and sadly would not recommend

Have to agree with the other reviews and not one has been acknowledged by the management. Should have done my homework before stepping into this place. Staff took an age to acknowledge us waiting to be seated and they were talking to each other or their friends. Tea came with a tiny cup and tea pot. The falafel could not have been 'home cooked' and the bowl was missing the sauce. The flat bread came later and burnt, sent it back to receive another that went cold and hard within minutes. Seating and floor needed a good clean. Only asked about if everything was ok on payment. On letting the waitress know that items were missing from the meal, she already knew what was missing and said that if i has said something we could have got a free drink - didn't offer any money off and i did not have the energy to ask for the manager. Would not ever go back again.

Bizarre experience. Man in too small a beanie came to take our order at the bar. Said he usually worked next door and couldn't find the things we wanted on the menu. Which was odd. Then we placed the order for food, mine turned up about twenty minutes before my friend despite ordering together. Said homemade falalfel but was deffo frozen probably birds eye. Toilets stank too and also the coke was ninety percent ice.

Food was ok but came out cold. Staff forgot what we had ordered. Astonishingly slow service, staff were on their phone as people were waiting at the bar. People were walking out because of the wait. Staff not particularly friendly and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. I work in hospitality and don’t leave bad reviews but I couldn’t ignore this unfortunately

Me and my boyfriend came here on Thursday around lunchtime. We ended up staying for hours longer than we had planned playing pool and trying out different drinks on their menu. The bartender Leigh could not do enough for us and tao working with her was extremely friendly. Lovely place, massive windows and amazing drinks. Highly recommend for people watching.

Looking for a bar on a Saturday night, this was the only place on the street which didn’t have a queue out the door, which I now realise wasn’t a coincidence! Most expensive doubles I’ve ever bought in a pub/bar paired with the worst DJ I’ve ever heard - songs changed every 40seconds and I’ve seen smoother transitions on a 1993 version of PowerPoint

Worked in hospitality my whole life and I’ve never left a negative review but I just hope their management see that they need to make changes. Staff blamed poor service on understaffing but it doesn’t look good when one of them is sat eating breakfast while people are waiting to be served. Food was an hour late because of a lost ticket, despite us checking multiple times what the delay was and being told our food was on its way. The one member of staff who checked on us worked hard to make up for the bad experience but I wouldn’t go back, which is a shame because it seemed like a cool place. Other customers also walked out. Also, if you need to use the toilets I’d risk going on the street outside than use their facilities because… wow

At 5pm the music was so loud it drove my daughter and me out after rapidly necking one drink.

Came here with friends for brunch and a coffee. We were firstly disappointed to hear they had no coffee (I presume the coffee machine was out of service but they didn't give a reason). They then forgot to make and bring me my cup of tea thus I had to chase that up. The food was ok, satisfying but not brilliant. The toilets needed cleaning desperately. I think this place would be ok visiting at night as a bar for drinks but not for much else.

The flat white was exceptionally so asked for another. Don’t normally have a vegan breakfast but i don’t eat meat on Tuesdays so decided to treat myself. I ate the lot! Defo recommend 😊

BEWARE, Straight white men wont be served very easily!! Two lovely women next to us had to ask the bartender to serve us as my friend and I as we were seemingly John Cena impersonators. Looked a nice place for breakfast. Initial service with a smile. Coffee machine not working do allowed to find coffees elsewhere. Ordered breakfasts,. Coffee machine working, great, now able to order. Slow for breakfast but OK. Wrong egg orders on 2/4 but we accepted this fir expediency. Coffees didn’t arrive for the breakfast. We complained and then had feedback that we had upset the waiting staff on a reasonable request for the paid coffees ordered. We shared the same with the emissary - there was acknowledgment of the problems but kitchen staff were blamed rather than providing satisfactory service. The coffees still took another 10 minutes to arrive and were not great. Considering the choice around and the poor service, go elsewhere. A more miserable end. than hoped for to a great couple of days in Manchester where service and custom elsewhere had been excellent.

Saturday mid-morning breakfast. Very poor. Incorrect orders, slow service, cold food, glacial delivery of drinks despite multiple reminders, indifferent (but not unpleasant) staff, stroppy and defensive management (maybe he's just become immune to complaints, looking at these reviews), "the kitchen got it wrong", "we don't have enough staff", "too many customers turned up". I suspect that they simply rely on visitors, so care nothing for repeat custom - which is just as well, as I equally suspect they don't get much of that. Oh, and it's pay-in-advance, so you have little leverage, and get charged anyway for their mistakes. The menu looks appealing, with a decent range of options, and the food tasted entirely average if you look past the other problems. But, for the price, it's absolutely not good enough.
