Today I had a table booked for lunch. It was my first visit to the cafe. A really excellent experience. The telephone help was friendly and easy. Our table was clearly marked. Windows were open which, as I am immuno suppressed, meant I felt comfy to sit inside rather than out. I was thrilled to see the smaller meals as I should eat small meals. Often this leaves me asking for children’s options which isn’t a great feeling. To see even half slices of tray bakes was lovely. This is all brilliant accessibility in areas that not many cafes seem to think about. The food was tasty and seemed very freshly prepared. Finally, I have been a fan of other restaurants on the same stretch of road. However, their menus have become outside my budget. The food here felt very good value indeed. I look forward to returning again, soon.

My new favourite place to eat. We phoned just half hour before on a Sunday asking if they can fit 8 of us in which they did. So glad we phoned as it was mega busy (always a good sign). 4 adults and 4 teenagers enjoyed everything. We had jacket potatoes, burger, deep fried bubble and squeak, Mac & cheeses, lasagne and bacon sandwich. We polished off the lot! The coffees were really nice too. Loved seeing the chickens outside. Even though it was really busy our food came out in really good time. Staff were great. Will definitely be back

Compared to a few other garden centres nearby this cafe offers a good value menu with interesting choices, all freshly made. Plenty of outside space with lovely views of the blackdowns. There are some lovely chickens roaming around outside too which is nice. Friendly cafe, highly recommend.

The cafe is very easy to find and well signposted from the outside and indoors. It was very busy, we did visit on a late Sunday morning. Only a few tables free indoors but plenty of spaces outside in the sunshine or undercover. We didn't have to wait long before we could order our drinks at the till, 1 medium white hot chocolate with marshmallows and 1 large hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream, £8.36 for both. The lady and the till was friendly and it was nice to see she did ask my 12 year old what she would like instead of asking me. We found a table outside and the drinks arrived within 10 minutes. A good size mug with a fairly good amount of marshmallows and cream on it. The drink itself was very warm but not hot, but tasty. The food menu looks good with a good amount of choice but not cheap. I can't say anything about the quality, we didn't have food, but the plates coming out of the kitchen did look nice! The toilet area is right next to the cafe, wheelchair access and a baby changing unit are also there.

We went for breakfast and the quality was exceptional. Well cooked fresh produce. I was persuaded to try fried bread ( I’m a toast fan) it was delicious, golden, crispy and not greasy. The coffee was excellent, one of the best flat whites to be had locally. The service was great and the staff were friendly and that didn’t change even when it got really busy. A first class breakfast.

Very slow service - my food turned up but no sign of my partner’s dessert which we requested at the same time. This is the third occasion this has happened in three weeks. We queried this with young girl “waitress” who was rude and turned her back on us. The girls need simple training on the basics of working in a cafe, i.e cutlery is always a good thing to have when you are eating custard or soup!! The coffee usually turns up sloshed all over the tray! They need to pull their socks up big time!! We will not return.

Dropped in just for a coffee on the way back from Taunton - until we saw the breakfast menu. Chose the eggy bread with balsamic cooked tomatoes and bacon. Wow, delicious. It was difficult to decide what to have so went for this option as it was so different. Definitely not disappointed. The staff are so friendly and prices very reasonable. Not sure why we haven’t been in before but will certainly go back. They do a loyalty card for coffee so it is worth trying to fill up to get a free cup. Such a pretty place to eat, just wish it had been a bit warmer so we could have sat outside. Those brave enough to do so had the company of chickens and ducks strutting their stuff around the tables. Oh, and we bought some Dundee cake to take home.

Me and my family have been regular visitors to this establishment and I must say it's the worst it's been in a long time. There were no Sunday roasts being served and all that was on display to tell us this was a small chalk board on the front of the counter- common sense would tell you PUT IT ON THE DOOR PEOPLE ENTER FROM. The till was being manned by what I can only describe as an inexperienced person because when I asked her a question all I had was a dumbfounded look of mystery and no proper answer to what she was being asked. There are no menus anymore and the meals can only be seen on the boards next to the kitchen opening. I have enjoyed coming here but tables were dirty and not cleaned properly, the staff were happy to stand around waiting for things to happen rather than motivating themselves to get something done, The prices have gone up but the standards have lowered it's a shame because I know that they are capable of so much better and you can't keep blaming it on lack of staff because there seemed plenty on when I visited (approximately 7) I also feel I need to add if you consider coming here try not to ask for the male chef he has a terrible attitude towards customers and should be thankful for the customer feedback. Like many others we shall not be visiting again.

We are or were at least regular visitors here for lunch. we went because the staff would go out of the way to ensure my coeliac friend would get her gluten free scone as they often needed prior notice to ensure they were on the menu. Sadly it seems it is not the same happy upbeat eager to please atmosphere anymore what's changed ?? The poor servers looked absolutely run ragged and stressed there appeared to be only 2 people front of house. so how on earth they could be expected to cope during a busy lunch service I've no clue. We were also concerned to see cakes containing nuts next to non nut based cakes on the same shelf!. so we decided desert was off the menu on this occasion The food was still up to the usual standards and the service expectedly slow (not the servers fault). The servers were polite and helpful as always but it was very obvious they were running a gauntlet. the whole experience was honestly off putting im sad to say further lunches will be enjoyed elsewhere

Come for coffee and cake regularly but during June this time sadly there was no plates my elderly friend and I had to eat cake from a brown paper bag and no knife to cut the cake it was embarrasing as i took her for a treat . Sadly we had to sit on a table of four because the tables of two were full of crockery and dirty The coffee was luke warm and it wasn't the old staff that we remember. missing the happy staff that we were always smiling and happy to help . The establishment has changed somewhat and sadly I have to report a bad experience I don't normally do this but I feel that you should know to be able make adjustments however the food is still great standard and very tasty . The manager is never at the front to be able to catch her to mention anything. this time was a poor experience. Sadly because my friend and I were always fond of willobrook and some of the girls who worked here . I wish you well for the future and I am sorry to have had to say this .

Food tasted lovely and was well presented. Had ordered a veggie breakfast and a jacket potato and two lattes. Let down because there is a sign saying no dogs allowed inside (understandable as there are tables available outside to use) and a dog was inside (some staff were aware of its presence but didn't say anything), this was not a support dog as the owner was heard saying she knew she should not be inside! This wasn't a major issue for me personally but the owner was feeding it from a tub on the floor and it was messing all the floor up. Sorry, but if there is a rule it should be enforced so everyone knows where they stand and those that don't like dogs around them when eating know it is a dog free cafe (except for support dogs) or remove the sign and allow all dogs to be fair to all. Make your mind up......

Down side first, and I'm being picky. Reserved signs too small and when placed amongst condiments not obvious, hence servers having to keep pointing them out to customers. Is it really good practise to reserve seats? We had our meal and left before one reserved table arrived anyway and there were 12 seats reserved for a very long time unoccupied. Now the food! We had Hake and what a total delight the meal was. Cooked to perfection and from such a small and busy kitchen. Really worth the trip out. Having eaten we had a nice look around all the different sections of the site dispite the changable weather and made some nice purchases. We don't understand the complaints of dead flies and dirty floor and tables but as it is a very popular cafe and the serving staff kept very busy we can only think the visit must have taken place towards the end of a very busy day!

We have been stopping here for a number of years on trips to and from Devon and it has always been excellent. The menu was quite comprehensive and offered an omelette which came with chips, salad and coleslaw. I ordered an omelette yesterday, which I later discovered was from the breakfast menu, and what arrived was exactly that, an omelette. Not a hint of garnish just a plate and an omelette. I can't complain as it said 'omelette' on the menu and an omelette arrived but a bit of garnish would have been good. The new menu seems less comprehensive and it took a long time for the food to arrive, usually it is very quick so perhaps this was just a one off blip - will try again next time and hopefully it will be back to its usual really good self

This is the first time I have been to Willowbrook for some years. The premises have been extended and the cafe itself is light and airy. It was a busy period but the tables were cleared and wiped quite quickly. A patron had dropped crisps on the floor and these did not create a good impression, being right in front of the entrance. We were warned that because it was busy there would be a one hour wait for food. We almost left at this time but it was too late to go elsewhere for lunch. The wait was about 50 minutes in the end. The food was freshly cooked, hot and well presented; it was also very tasty. We doubtless will go there again but I feel that an early lunch is probably the best option. My wife and I have been to Willowbrook many times, over many years,( one of our previous properties has a magnificent hedge grown from bare rootstock purchased from the garden centre). The cafe and tea room has a menu that is comprehensive and inexpensive, the staff are efficient and helpful, as are the garden centre staff. The only reason that I have not given five stars in this review is the noise level. This was particularly noticeable during our last visit when a gaggle of mature cyclists seemed incapable of conversing in anything less than a bellow. If the garden centre have not got the plant or item you require in stock they will order it and call you when it arrives, a good old fashioned service.

We come in here to eat quite often as the food is excellent, However on the last 5 or 6 visits we have noticed that the crockery and cutlery is dirty, and feels gritty(filters on dishwasher need cleaning?) yesterday our cups etc were clean but the spout of the teapot and milk jug were badly chipped. ( this harbours germs.) We also noticed a customer take his mug back to get it changed, presumably dirty. This is such a shame that it is going downhill as it’s a very pleasant place that does not at the moment deserve the Trip Advisor certificate of excellence.

This cafe has become very popular in recent times and there is sometimes a bit of a wait, however the food is always worth waiting for and is reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I go here often. Sometimes I stop sometimes I don't.Service is either really good or ......well not really good. The last time I went none of the staff were clearing the tables , so you had to clear your own table before sitting down. In the past there have been some really fantastic lively youngsters moving like wild fire doing a great job. Food is excellent, and atmosphere very pleasant. A great place if you want lunch or just tea.

After the hustle and crazy confusing bustle of the neighboring garden Centre we were delighted to find this one was lovely and relaxed . Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Lovely food and drinks at reasonable prices. Beautiful array of flowers, household items and fish, pet shop is brilliant. Would really recommend this one if you’re looking for a garden center in this area.

I am sitting here eating lunch and reading the megative reviews. My husband and I have been coming here for many years, when originally it was run by a husband and wife team. Every time we have had excellent food. Maybe some dishes are a little bit dearer than your average “greasy spoon” but that’s the difference, good quality food, nice staff, and good ambience. Just wish they still did their excellent Bacon Baquettes!

Turned up on a Saturday around 11 o'clock wanting to sit down for a coffee and cake. It was not particularly busy. We queued up and decided to order 3 caramel lattes, 2 slices of cake and scone with jam. The young girl who served us was clearly new and very unsure as to what she was doing (had no idea which cake was which, how to put any of it on the till or where to find the caramel). We sat down and waited for our order which was brought to us by another young girl who virtually ran to our table. She VERY quickly and rather aggressively threw our drinks and food on the table, all in a small heap. Not a word was said and she RAN off. The lattes were lukewarm and extremely small for the price of £2.40 each.My cake had been sliced ridiculously and so I was served half a slice (please see pic). When we asked where the rest of the slice was the young girl very abruptly told us "I cut it weird". With hindsight we should have left the food and drink and demanded our money back but I think we were rather too shocked to do anything. I did complain to a member of staff as we left and she said she would speak to the restaurant staff. ALL the staff in the restaurant need to be taught some basic manners and need to slow down and put a smile on their miserable faces! We paid only a small amount of £14.50 but it was a total waste of my money and wish I had continued to drive past and found somewhere to spend the £14.50. Shame !!

Recently visited for lunch, thought it was expensive ,so went for light bites.Thought the girl on till was quite abrupt. Will never have a latte again , very expensive £2.20 for a very small cup, normally wherever you go it's a tall glass, which contains at least double the amount. Also the tea was £2 a pot. So very disappointed. Probably won't visit again.

Popped in for the first time for coffee. The member of staff who served us was miserable and abrupt, bordering on rude. She clearly didn’t want to be there! We won’t go again which is a shame as the cakes were pretty good.

I absolutely love it here. Absolutely adore the rare breed chicken that wander around outside with the ducks . Food- brilliant. Best poached eggs, perfect every time. Granary toast to die for. Toilets a very few steps outside, certainly the ladies always very clean and spacious with quick hand drier. Oooh and the staff are lovely, efficient and friendly. Try to get there once a week at least. I must ask next time if Sunday lunch is available.

We stopped for a coffee when passing by and thought it was a lovely place, quite quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. Good to find quality coffee from an independent place. Food looked good but we didn’t sample it.

We arrived enmasse on Sunday 9 children 7adults, we received excellent service and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fresh well cooked and generous portions. The cafe was spotless and all the staff were lovely even though a couple of our little ones were quite boisterous!! I would like to thank them in this day and age of making families welcome.

Having met friends for a walk at Fyne Court we decided to call in for some lunch afterwards. What a little gem! Beautiful pub, clean and well presented. Cheerful helpful staff, good menu which catered for our Vegan and Gluten free friends. We would definitely visit again

Looking at the reviews, we were not alone in receiving the standard of service we had. Ordered food at 1:40, pub was starting to empty. Our drinks came after about ten minutes. One had a fly in it. Sometimes that can’t be helped. Our food didn’t arrive until 2:50. We weren’t told about the wait and any member of staff that passed us avoided eye contact. Clearly, the kitchen needed some help seeing as there was an hour wait on salad… Bar and serving staff were stood down one end of the pub just chatting. Surely one of them could go and assist in the kitchen? When our food arrived, one meal was almost cold and the other burnt. Awful wait time, food wasn’t great, staff weren’t very helpful. Only come here if you want to wait an hour for some burnt bread and salad….

Was shown to table, really friendly staff. Chose the breakfast and a couple of drinks. It looks expensive but well worth it. As wasn’t busy, came out quick. Though it was starting to fill up. Only criticism is plates need to be warmed as food went cold quick, and more butter. We would return.
