Lovely place you get what you pay for good place to take the children for a meal

Travelling through Stowmarket and stopped for lunch, very busy, the food was great for the price with a pint thrown in. The staff were friendly and very hard working. 10/10

A nice pub but completely understaffed the young girl in there was rushed off her feet on a very busy Saturday morning/afternoon 15/3 she worked exceptionally hard and was very pleasant and apologetic to customers which clearly wasn’t her fault as there needs to be more staff to deal with the high demands credit to her she did exceptionally well under the circumstances but the staffing needs to be addressed.

Just another Spoon. Nothing special here nor drink neither service. Atmosphere was bit strange too. Don’t know its me or the place making strange vibes.

For value for money spoons can't be beaten. It's pub grub, it is what it is and is good for the price. Nice seating area out the front to bask in the sun, and a larger one out the back.

Very busy on Sunday. But we still managed to get a table, even with a wheelchair. Very tasty.

It's beginning to look tired and could do with a facelift. It's a good wetherspoons and always packed. The app is very reliable.

So you have a bar that is approximately 9 metres long yet people (young and old) are queuing?! My husband asked the stroppy long streak of woke why people are queuing and the sarky reply was 'because it's polite' 😂 Well, we didn't and never will queue in a pub. It's another British tradition these muppets are trying to get rid of. Had we have stayed longer, we would have ordered our drinks via the app even though we were sat opposite the bar - we can all play games. We went to The Royal Oak where we enjoyed good conversation with the friendly bar staff and ordered our drinks the old fashioned way - waiting our turn, standing at the bar.

There is a manager called Jessica I think .. she is manager on Sunday.. she is very rude.. she said I was banned when I was in there yesterday with my kids I go there everyday.. regularly!! Today she wouldn't let me in .. for no reason at all!!!! Apart from I think ur banned ... so I'm nor serving .. didn't give me a reason or even speak to me she was very rude!!!

Queuing in a line for a beer in weatherspoons and having to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get served isn't a weatherspoons on a Sunday when your after a drink and something to eat think I'll be give this a miss the next time I visit

Not sure what went wrong today (Saturday 18th Jan) but glasses and plates are not being collected. People having to clear tables just to sit down. Very poor show.

It's a Wetherspoons. It's not the Ritz so don't expect anything special.

Delicious fish and chips, everything was good

Usual wetherspoons often visited it while in Stowmarket saves having to cook later, this time my curry wasn't as good as normal food wasn't hot but warm, but can't always be perfect can it, but price is right.

Cheap and cheerful, nothing spectacular but good value for money

I have q English breakfast 2 sausage s, 2 fried eggs? 1 mushroom, 3 haskbrowns, 2 rations bacon, baked beans snd 3 slices of toast. 2 endless cups of coffee tea and hot chocolate from a free to use machine. All fr £17.00 Bargain. Staff were friendly and helpful. Noisy but whst fo you expect

It's a good Wetherspoons pub. Well run and clean. Staff were a bit short in numbers, but the food, prices and atmosphere were all tops! Enjoyed the two visits.

Do tend to like chillies in their dishes though. It would be nice to have some of the dishes with a choice of chilli/spicey hot or milder.

Sat on table six, on occasion the pub smelled of sewage wafting in from staff areas. At least the drinks are cheap and they get brought to you using an app!

I know it’s Wetherspoons and I shouldn’t expect much, but lunch today was disgusting. The steak was cold and also chewy and grisly. I had to spit three mouthfuls out and and the rest was so tough that I could barely cut it up for the dog with a steak knife. I thought, at least I have the mashed potato but no, dry, dusty, and cold.

They are not considerate on kids with special needs. They won't let us bring out our son's food. Please avoid this restaurant if you have kids with special needs and if you don't end up get upset and embarrassed. P.S. One of the grumpy old staff is horrible to deal with...

I wish I'd taken her name, but a staff member was truly brilliant when I had issues due to a dietary requirement. Service in general was good, good nice

Disappointed. I went with my 2 adult children who are 28 &26 and son in law 26. Due to a long difficult week we told him to treat himself to a beer. We ordered on app and when the beer came the waitress asked for ID. As we were only here for the day he hadn't bought any so she took it away and said it would be refunded. My daughter checked her account and when we asked told the refund would take up to 5 working days. My daughter had her licence which the waitress glanced at and said ok, but when we found a picture of my son in laws licence we were told they can't take a picture as evidence as it has to be checked on their database. I understand that there are rules but the excuses given were just ridiculous and someone being a jobsworth who liked the power of refusing someone who quite clearly was over 18 and over 25.

I've been here before and had a better experience. This time round, after ordering on the app, the food literally came out 2 minutes later, which I didn't think was a good sign. It all looked very appetising, but on starting to eat it, I found everything was barely luke warm. From a professional food place, I'm struggling to understand why food temperatures aren't regularly taken, and "Keep warm" times aren't adhered too. It would have been nice to at least have the food refreshed on a hotplate for literally 1 minute, before being brought out, just to get it up to the correct temperature. Also, I say "Keep warm times" because I just about made it home before everything decided to do an emergency evacuation from my body, I don't think there would be anything that had been thawed and refrozen, (But I could be wrong) The mushroom didn't have as much flavour as it should have had, and it could have also done with a fair sized portion of beans. So upon reflection, I doubt I'll be taking the risk of eating here again, it was too closer a call for anyone to be ok with.

Service always spot on food is hit & miss but breakfast is always good

Went out for a meal with my husband, not our first visit and unfortunately the food hasn't improved. Took ages to get served at the bar and the table was clean but sticky.

Usually Spoons fayre, spoilt only by not allowing my husbands PTSD dog to sit in the beer garden with us. We forget her card ID, but you could clearly see my hubby was disabled amputee and the dog was well behaved. Shame Wetherspoons, real shame.

The food is really good. I have been many times before but today went on Father day. It was busy because of Father’s Day but I didn’t mind that. The only thing that made it quite bad is that it takes a long time for the food to come to you. Usually it’s about 10 minutes but today it was bout 30. But in the end the waiting was worth it and the meal was great. They also have a really good drink offer. If you buy a hot drink (only about £1.35) you get the rest free. Love this place. ❤️

breakfast, came out completely wrong and when they went to correct it still was wrong in end got money back and got a half hearted sorry never again

Me and mum are regular customers in the willow tree, weather spoons. We come here and exit happy and satisfied with friendly faces and excellent quality pub food. Today we came in on a Saturday with the pub half full, and we ordered a drink that needed an ID. My cousin had to go home to get her ID after the drink was taken off of us without any apology or any "sorry for the misinconvinience", just stormed off with the drink until we got an id for my cousin. We came back with the id with the food already cold, asked for the drink and a fresh glass, and she brought the drink with an angry face, no eye contact, no word or apology once again. The woman was on a dotted dark blue blouse and is one of the managers, which was quite disappointing because you'd expect more from the manager than the employees.

We waited 35 mins for our food. After 10 mins , I could see our order on the hot plate. By the time we got it, my beans had dehydrated, my husbands coleslaw had a crust and my grandsons steak was cold

Went here today with family for a nice dinner break 11 in our party and was told by friends this was a lovely place to come well I disagree small portions staff not bothered with there customers look out dated short staff to be honest should have gone to Burger King or kfc where I'm sure the food would have been better would steer well clear of this place but obviously get what you pay for cheap food kid size portions. Next time I'll stick to our local 🥃

Went for what we expected to be a lovely Easter meal but was an Awful meal tiny portion's the food was very poor and staff didn’t even seem bothered. One plate had 6 chips and were dry. Absolutely disgusting and spent a lot as there was 12 of us.

Food very very average, service is terrible waited an hour for a breakfast and all the staff said was sorry I thought someone had brought it over to you ! Avoid this place infact avoid stowmarket.

I had a pasta alfonso with ham (£1.52 extra) £11 all told and I left hungry because the portion was so small, I've seen children's meals bigger, I wouldn't have fed a 4 year old a meal that small.

Had breakfast in here on Sunday at 11 am and was very busy at this time, at least 3\4 full. Ordered my food at the bar, but you can order from the table via QR code. Food came quite quick, no more than 15 minutes' wait & had a large breakfast with a coffee which you get unlimited refills from the coffee machine. The food was very good, but I will say my bacon was slightly overdone, but other than that, it was great. There is a wheelchair friendly entrance & it has a seating area to the front & the back of the building for sunny days. Very clean inside & the staff are friendly and helpful & the meals are very reasonably priced, paid just over £8 for a large fry up (photo of my plate of food in pics) & unlimited coffee you can't complain at that :)

Service was friendly and polite and breakfast came out very quickly (within 5 mins of ordering). Only criticism is beans were ice cold and bread was barely toasted. This would be understandable if they were very busy but there were maybe 4 or 5 customers in at the time. This is still a great place to drop in for bite to eat or a drink but the breakfasts definitely aren't what they used to be.

Been here many times. First time a year ago was good. The last few months we first had pizza with no cheese soggy bottom with burnt edges. We were sat next to a staff member whose pizza was covered in what looked to be our cheese. Today we had breakfast muffins which were completely cold.

Well it's a Spoons. So one knows what one is getting. However the service here is fairly quick for a Spoons. The staff are also friendly and polite which is normal for Spoons. Also plenty of seating. A most enjoyable meet up place, for old friends to while away and afternoon!

A busy pub on a Friday lunchtime but still quick service of good value pub grub.

Food was terrible, asked why as I always the same breakfast and was met with hostility from the manager, she was so rude about my food being cooked incorrectly and wouldn't provide a her name. I was allowed any food because I mentioned that she was acting like a child and muttering under her breath about the food as she left the table. 10am 23/2/24 Very unprofessional and rude.

It's a spoons. Cheap booze and cheap food. It is what it is. One slight issue I did have on my last visit was when I ordered a mixed grill, they ran out of onion rings, and instead, I received a pot of coleslaw. A heads up next time would have been appreciated - this would have saved some food waste as I hate coleslaw.

Saturday morning arrived at this pub in Ipswich, there we're 2 members of staff behind the bar. One serving customers, and one serving orders from the app. I tried to ask a member of staff would she think its quicker to get served via the app or wait in the queue, she snapped at me gave me a dirty look and said. We'll get to you when we get to you. I found a table and ordered on the app. Waited 35min a friend of mine popped to the corner of the bar and asked the lady if our order had been missed checking it was still there on the system that's all. He also got the same rude treatment from the same member of staff who was working through the app orders. Our drinks arrived after waiting 45min, a member of staff in a green t-shirt walked passed we asked in a kind calm voice the name of the lady working through the app drinks. She gave us a look of disgust and in a sterne voice said she didn't have to give us her name. Ok fair enough. Is the lady the manager or just normal staff, again we got told she doesn't have to give you that information. Because 2 coaches turned up and the pub was not told before hand it was coming they treated us like we were scum of the earth they were sharp snappy rude to all of us who were polite to the members of staff. The Staff didn't make us feel welcome at all from start to Finish. So we drank up and left. Safe to say we won't be coming back to this stuck up spoons ever again.

My daughter had to wait for her food, I received mine first. They shouldn't plate up the rest of the meal until the fish etc is ready. When it did finally arrive, her beans were not very warm, from the inefficient heat lamps of the serving counter. Have had much better in the past. Very disappointed this time. Both meals should always be brought together, and not plated up until everything is done

Just popped in for a drink & snack. Lovely place & food was good.

We had some bottled drinks which can’t go wrong. We also ordered two steaks with chips and it was one of the worst steaks ever eaten. It was chewy, dry and no seasoning at all other than salt. tasted like bad quality oil.

When i visited this place in Stowmarket they had no bread for toast. Delivery hadn't arrived. There is a Aldi across the way couldn't someone have gone to buy a few loaves? Substituted toast with extra egg.

Last time I visited the Willow tree the day was spoild by a jumped up manageress that wouldn't serve me with a port and a brandy because she said I would mix them back at the table , In my view if a drank the port and 30 minutes later drank the brandy surely they would mix anyway , this manageress would be better suited to being a traffic warden , any way on my two more recent visits she wasn't there (sacked I hope) the staff were very good as was the food & service .

Whoever did the ground work for this pub deserves a raise, Wetherspoons have this one perfect. It has effectively become a community pub at the heart of stowmarket. All comers visit it for a drink, food or even just a coffee. Good space outside for the summer. Has been a great addition to the town.

Popped in for lunch today, was very impressed with the food/ cooking. All the staff were delightful, helpful and friendly.

Will never eat in here again ordered a breakfast told no service as11th of November which being an older man I respect.but when I ordered it turned up cold . Maybe I should have complained at the time

Very frustrating that you can't give minus starsa. Family of 13 including 4 children, 11 mths ,9 ,14 and nearly 15yrs. As there were no tables near each other we were told that we'd just have to sit at separate tables, amazing customer service A lovely member of staff sorted the tables to enable us all to sit together which was great.However before we'd time to order desert we were told by some female jobsworth that we had to leave as children have to be out by nine. We said that we were unaware of this and were told by some her at least twice that it was on their website. The vegan dish was posibly some sort of Quorn nuggets in some sort of curry sauce yuck. This was my first and last visit. After this experience none of us will ever use them again.

Always busy, cheap and clean. The food can be really good depending on what you order. But it's not there fault as they are having to deal with the generic menu and ingredients all around the country. Beer is really good.
