I've never been to this pub before. We visited after an England Euros match and the atmosphere was still very jubilant and infectious. We stayed for pool which is in a side area.. so less noise and people. There was music and dancing and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

Popped in yesterday to watch the football while down here for the weekend. Really nice little pub, staff were really friendly and talking to us like we’d known them years. Topped off by the lovely dog we made friends with. Nice pub

Nice pub, looks recently refurbished, friendly and cosy atmosphere.

Called in with my father, brother in law and nephew for a quick drink on Christmas morning. The pub had a great atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and efficient there was loads of friendly banter going on. The only issue was that we stayed for 3 or 4 drinks and got in to trouble when we got home. Great pub and well worth a visit.

A great pub, a lovely garden and pet friendly - they even offer drinks for yoir furry friend. They offer a beautiful Sunday roast. I've also been to event nights and the atmosphere is great. Everyone is welcome and I will definitely return!

Reasonably priced alcohol and food but they were undergoing renovations so no food that day.

Cosy local pub these days, decent Thai food on a Friday evening, which is when I went in, and reasonably priced cocktails. Service was fantastic.

we've used the pub on a few occasions and always found it good they had a varied menu and good beer we went back last week only to be told that the menu had changed completely and that they only had one ale on this was a little disappointing what's more we weren't aware that the car park was now for patrons only and you have to register your car number with a member of staff we subsequently receive a £60 pound fine so please be aware of this

Decided to book Sunday roast due to the the lovely reviews this pub has received recently. The meat was tender, lots of seasonal veg, cheese cauliflower, nice roast potatoes. Homemade Yorkshire pudding, maybe slightly over cooked, but still tasty. As for the gravy, I just had to ask for slightly thicker gravy, as it is my preference. Nothing was too much for the young boy serving today and the young girl behind the bar. Will book again.

Just had an amazing Sunday roast dinner, plenty of food at a good price, staff were very friendly and polite.

It’s an ok pub. Might have been unlucky but my beer didn’t taste too fresh and the wine my other half had was barely drinkable.

Probably good for alcohol didn't try. Came for food, if you like eating only chips then this is the place for you. If you like more than just chips and actual meat then don't come here. Also lemonade taste like fizzy water. Prices reasonable but not quality food.

Very unhappy with the service. The staff wanted to go home,, asked 3times for garlic dip to go with mushrooms and still it didn't arrive,, starters late,, was not asked if everthing was OK a d was not asked if we wanted a dessert

It's ok food could be better good place for a drink and to hangout but not to eat my salad was dropped on the floor and still given To me it had alog of grit and I saw It go on the floor ok for drinks but not for food

Just had the worst roast dinner ever. Whether it was because of so many in the party, but everybody's meat was overcooked, the veg was cold and Yorkshire puddings were more like cakes. To cap it all got overcharged as well. Have been drinking in the William Harvey for over 30 years, will not be going in ever again.

I'm surprised that they keep business to be honest as I found the staff to be very rude and abrupt.

Average pub, atmospheric due to music played but not the best layout inside. Ok for a quick pint.

Recently reopened under new management so to post a review now may be rather premature. We arrived relatively early on a Friday evening in December having made a last minute decision to eat out and finding other places fully booked. The 'stopped for a pint on the way home from work' brigade were still there in force and feeding the pay music system So we weren't able to find a quiet corner to chat. The building is old with lots of beams and the expected inglenook fireplace. All have recently repainted and spruced up but still retain some character. We were surprised to find the separate dining room empty. For the remainder of the evening we were the only ones eating there. The food was inexpensive but very average. The chef took the trouble to come out and chat with us. He is a pleasant chap but still has a lot to learn as do the waiting staff. The management are obviously trying hard to establish the place under their new regime. We had the opportunity to share some ideas with them and I'm sure that they will attempt to make their mark on the place which has suffered from several years of neglect and still carries a poor reputation.

Went for a roast meal at about 13:30 on a Sunday (served between 12pm & 5pm) for it to turn up very dry (turkey) even with gravy. Veg was ok, but nothing special. They offered another meat so tried the beef, this was quite tough not enjoyable. Decided to have a desert because I love apple pie, after waiting nearly 15 minutes, I was disappointed to receive 2 small Mr kippling pies covered tined custard. Too sweet, nothing home made. They don't offer mineral water for drinks. It's a shame as this is my local and wanted it to be great. But we won't be going again.

I live 2 minutes from this pub and have been planning to give it a try since I spotted the opening soon signs. Went in for a pint over the weekend and had lunch while there. Prices are reasonable, food was good and staff are friendly. I plan to use my local more often now, I was beginning to wonder if it would ever open again. It's great that it has, keep it up 👍

A really pleasant and warm welcome. The place has been transformed. Went with friends for a drink, but will be back for a meal. In the new year will take a larger group for a lunch meal. Wishing you all the best. Ooh and Petra who cooks some wonderful meals, prepares and cooks vegetarian, vegan and gluten free meals as well.
