Good to see a bad review in recent days to echo many others thoughts. The cross and even the wetherspoons have this tired little dive beat hands down. And the queue order at the bar brings back unwelcome memories of how students used to be treated unfairly at the guild.

Worst place ive ever been. The landlord is abusive swearing and shouting in mine and my friends face for laughing in the beer garden. You cant run a pub and expect people to sit in silence. Its a pub not a funeral

Not a food pub proper drinkers pub with local darts teams wide variety of drinks on offer tv screens offering sports .

Gossip... rumours.. and other odds and sods. Beer garden is small and with sub 4k tvs to display some sport and suitable entertainment for over 14s. Limited food. Conveniently near to poundland if you need a good choice of things to tide you over. I have slowed down my drinking but the choice is yours to get legless, and get home safely after.

Great size pub ,friendly staff, good lay out ,great for sports fans tv's all round the pub .Good selection of beers and spirits

Quite drink while waiting for van service

I spend around £800 a month in this pub to be told on a FRIDAY I have to pay to get in. Any other pub will make sure the regulars who keep the place afloat get in without being conned at the door. So wrong.

OMG where do I start Atmosphere feels like it’s gonna kick off….really uncomfortable Staff miserable because they are short staffed Beer was dreadfully BAD…sour Won’t be going back in a hurry

Decently priced beer clean pub.great place good staff.

Doesn't serve food. Drinks are usual largers, bitter and ale. Staff are friendly. Large pub but seems such a lot of wasted space.

Reasonable pub in centre of town, normally offers a few ales and choice of lagers, spirits, wine and cocktails. Lots of seating an outdoor area and a DJ some nights. Sports and music videos on the many screens.

Nice interior and good selection of drinks at bar. Needs to leave the lower area for people to meet and talk without the music blasting out.

Cheap beer, and actually plays music..way better then the spoons across the road

nice and clean.price for a pint is very competitive. good atmosphere. a good all round pub.

Great place to go for a drink not suitable for children though due language of some of the customers.

Love this place, good atmosphere. Not too expensive. Nice adult atmosphere. No children allowed but a great place for a date or start of a night.

No one serving waited ages and then again for another drink

This pub is a refurbished upgrade of the old George pub of which was visited by me and my friends in my younger days. With the upgrade there's now plenty more room to pack loads of people in with sky sports TV. But it lacks the atmosphere the George once had and to be honest I wasn't very impressed still its better than having it closed.

Prefer when it was the George many moons ago.
