They served traditional pies, cakes and local products. Try the local frangipane cake, we love it. I picked pear and ginger frangipane and it couldn’t be best. Nice.

This is a farm shop right next to Oxenholme station. There are tables so you sit and get a tea and cake or sandwich whilst you wait for your train. They sell lots of nice local products. Next time I visit the Lake District via Oxenholme station I will get a lot of my groceries from here rather than the supermarket.

Due to de railed trains , there was a delayed train down south for about 2 and a half hours. There was no phone charging port on the entire station as the waiting room is also under construction. I needed to advise my family of the delay and therefore asked the shop if I could please charge my phone. A wonderful gentleman had no problem helping me with this , until an elderly lady told me that I shouldn’t be charging my phone and that if I didn’t spend time on it throughout the day it wouldn’t need charging. I am a healthcare worker for the NHS and spend extremely little time on my phone due to this , so found this personally insulting. Honestly , it just ruined my already long day. I had also purchased food from the store so didn’t feel like I was taking advantage by asking for the help. I’m in oxenholme daily for travel to Kendal , and genuinely wouldn’t go back again after the hostility I received. Pity as the rest of the staff were lovely and didn’t realise it would be such a problem for one particular lady.

Lovely staff and very generous bacon and sausage bap at 7am...! Coffee was decent too along with the frangipane. The food looked so lovely I stopped off on my back through Oxenholme to pick up some bread (amazing) and sausage rolls (also lovely) to eat when home. So much food it was hard to choose what to buy...! Would definitely recommend and wish it wasn't 2.5 hours drive away.

Disappointed the owner is very rude….the food is questionable and looks like it’s been cooked the day before We won’t be going back, best to get some food in the station cafe

This is a lovely place so convenient when arriving in Oxenholme and wanting more than train food. The homemade pies are delicious you can purchase then warm or cold there is plenty to drink ranging from tea, coffee, soft drinks beer and wine mostly produced in Cumbria. Its such a change to find a little gem like this hidden by a train station.

this place is most convenient if you are getting the train on the West Coast Mainline. but, although it advertises that it's all local produce, the quality is rather disappointing, especially compared to the many really good food places in the area.

Called here today after visiting another Robinsons pub nr Windermere. The pub should open at 12 but was still closed at 12:30, when we called back a grumpy old bloke told us there was no food. No wonder they had no customers! His attitude & the late opening couldnt be bothered attitude will see the closure of this venue

The hotel is not the Hilton but full of character, a lovely old building with 'huge' function rooms and restaurant area. The staff work hard and go out of their way to serve. The location is ideal for Grange and the lakes in general. If you manage to book one of their promo/deals then you are getting your stay for next at extremely good value. Our room 102 was more than spacious and spotlessly clean but bathroom needs an upgrade but still functional. The breakfast buffet was excellent but could have been hotter and the evening meal was average but nice. My only overall gripe was the bar with very limited draught lager and no cask/real local beer. Yes you could buy bottled 'Black Sheep' but the Lake District is well known for local micro brewery's etc which would be more than happy to supply the Grand. Would we return? Yes, absolutely but seriously hope that they readdress the bar products.

Great hotel room a bit rustic and stuffy but what do you expect from a 400 year old house. Room location was still clean. The beer selection was very large and tasty, just like the breakfast..

Stopped at the Jolly Anglers Inn while walking the Dales Way. It's a great little spot - comfortable, super welcoming and the food was exactly what we needed after a long day of walking. The rooms were comfortable (which was impressive with three of us in one room!) and the breakfast the next morning set us up just right for the final leg of the trek the next day.
