We just had a wonderful dinner with our kids and the greatest, kindest service on top of really authentic and real italian food. It was beautiful. Thank you.

A fun find in the market square. Food was solid, well executed and seasoned. The price point was good. I would skip the focaccia next time -- too bready, and the green beans which were a little underwhelming.

Went here a few times when it first opened, first experience was good but subsequent visits we found the service slow. Its been a few years so thought I would give it another chance, this one is definitely the last. Firstly our starter plates were cleared while we were still eating and then another waiter brought us a bill before we'd had our main meals, maybe they got us confused with another table? We were interrupted mid conversation at least 3 times to ask if we wanted anything while waiting for our meal, we had drinks so I'm not sure what else we would have needed. The food is average at best and the drinks are expensive, £18 for two glasses of prosecco with a passionfruit puree in.

Not as good as it thinks it is. My husband ordered the Philly Steak sandwich and asked to have it without cheese. This request was accepted but ignored. It was too late by then to reorder as the other dishes for the rest of us had been served. The butternut squash risotto was only just OK, the lasagne acceptable and the roasted seabass was good. We probably would not return. Especially as they add a 10% service charge which was a presumption on their part. We prefer discretionary tips.

Popped in for a late lunch after a pleasant couple of hours wandering around the market and it was absolutely superb. Prompt efficient friendly service great ambience and lovely food. Had the best seafood risotto ever and Poretti on draft - couldn't fault anything. Brilliant - thank you to the whole team.

Conveniently opposite the fine Square it was great to alight here after a day’s great sightseeing. Across an ample menu we were delighted with our choices. Pasta and mains. A pleasant space, combined with the tasty dishes plus friendly staff makes it easy to top-rate it.

I booked my 50th birthday meal here for celebration with the girls and everything was just perfect! The set party menu had something for everyone and so delicious too. Service was fast, friendly and nothing too much trouble, I will definitely be booking again.

After we left the cathedral, we kept on walking, looking at restaurants that were on the list that our hotel (Riverside) gave us. We read the menus posted outside and in one instance, sat down and read the menu. Nothing tickled our fancy. I was so frustrated that I thought we would try a Costa coffee place for the first time. Then we saw Wildwood and its menu was intriguing, but we also saw Nando’s. I was in the mood for some of their unlimited vanilla soft serve, which is surprisingly refreshing and just plain good. e Everything about it turned out to be excellent. I found the ambience relaxing – quiet with a nice view of the main square. The service was friendly and perfect. The food was even better than I had hoped. They had a number of dishes on their menu that sounded enticing, but for some reason the simple spaghetti bolognese lured me in. Great choice. It was served at just the right temperature and it was an ample portion and it was delicious. I forgot how good spaghetti could be if you had the right chef preparing it. I ordered the green beans with almonds and the bread, which were equally well prepared. I topped it off with a glass of Montepulciano, which was also lovely. It all worked to make for the best meal of our so far 70 day trip. My wife similarly liked her meal. I believed she had tuna and shared the green beans and bread. One of our waiters was half Italian and we had a delightful discussion about that enchanting land. We shared travel tips. Salento and Madonna di Campiglio have been added to my list for future visits. We went for lunch and dinner the next day and would have gone for lunch the following day, but our schedule would not allow it. Everything about our meals were very good – food, location, ambiance, servers, not to mention that it was reasonably priced, particularly the lunch specials. What’s not to like? We enjoyed ourselves immensely at Wildwood and would almost certainly be regulars there if we ever were to move to Salisbury and will definitely return to this location or other locations in England, if we ever visit again. Without reservations, pardon the pun, we recommend a meal here.

Not great for vegans. I ordered the vegan lasagna but it was sold out, so got the baked aubergine instead which was advertised as a main course. It was nice, but absolutely not a fulfilling meal by itself. It was more like an appetiser, but was as expensive as a main meal despite the fact not even a full aubergine was included. I ended up needing to get fries as well as no other sides were vegan and I was still hungry. I’ve been here several times now and each time has been slightly disappointing. Only ice cream and sorbet are offered as vegan desserts which, again, is the bare minimum these days. Overall it feels like not much thought or effort has been put into making the vegan menu and for a chain Italian Zizzi does it better. Staff were generally ok, but we had a 30% off discount card yet they only gave us 20% off. Different staff asked 3 times if we wanted dessert and we said no each time but they brought us the menu anyway which felt like they were saying either order something else or leave. The restaurant became very noisy and busy, which wasn’t anything anyone could control but did make it hard for us to hear each other so we did leave soon afterwards. I wouldn’t rush to return and it’s not my first choice. It’s expensive for what you get as a vegan.

We love Wildwood! So much so that we go every week! Maria and Gabrielle are fantastic hosts and always make us feel welcomed and valued. Cannot rate the place highly enough!!

Staff great but asking for drinks every 5 mins is to much. Waitress making an issue about say Calzone and not CalzonE more enforsiss on the E. So when she asked if anyone wanted pudding I had to correct her with its Desert😁

I stumbled upon this restaurant after finding that my hotel around the corner’s restaurant wasn’t to my taste. Their new Chicken Romano dish has to be one of the best main courses I’ve had in a very long time. Every aspect of this meal was perfect.

Spontaneously popped in during the weekend for lunch, and they quickly accommodated us. The servers were very patient with us as we explained the menu to our parents. Food was served quick, and it was yum! My husband's T-bone steak was better than the One Minute steak (a bit chewy). Salad was fresh, and fries were hot & crispy!

Not a great experience. Seated quickly: 3 kids, 1 teen and 2 adults. Orders taken quickly. Calamari starters came quickly, then huge delay on mains. 1 hour plus. Then the shock of the bill. 3 kids meals (7.95 each), one lunch deal (£13.95), one pizza (14.95) and one gluten free pizza plus drinks (none alcoholic) £96.00!!!!! Lucky I was sitting down. Okay, but I won’t be back.

Just had an excellent lunch thanks to Gabrielle and his team. Lovely warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Had a large pram and a wheelchair but they moved things around and found a slot that was perfect for us. Food was excellent, very good quality and portions were of a good size. The staff are very attentive and obliging. Overall a very good and pleasant experience, will definitely be eating here again!

What a great disappointment, to previous visits. The special price two course menu was requested by 3 in our party. Not finding their usually delicious Lasagne available ,due to lack of staff to cook it , I chose the seafood from the main menu. Thinking this would be as tasty as the seafood risotto I once had here , which was top class and gorgeously memorable, I chose seafood linguine. The sauce had just the flavour of tinned tomatoes, the 5 prawns were OK but the muscles all were tiny and withered, not plump and creamy. As businesses have a lot of difficulties to survive in this economic climate, I did not complain. The young girl serving seemed disinterested and unwelcoming when we first placed an order, which I put down to youthful inexperience. My friend ordered Calamari and after the first bite gave up eating . The young waitress eventually returned , picked up the full plate of food without comment at all and started to walked off .It was this disinterest that prompted me call to her and point out that the Calamari was tough as old boots. She simply walked off, no doubt inexperienced and perhaps embarrassed in having to deal with the situation. Unfornately, the second course arrived and my friend was given a beefburger and not the chicken burger she had ordered. Again my friend did not make a big fuss. However, a more experienced lady (perhaps Manager) offered to replace the food and asked my friend if she wished to order an alternative.. This lady did her best to resolve the situation but our time here had, by now, been spoilt leaving us all unimpressed. The same lady graciously and wisely offered to take her meal off the bill, an act which could have saved the day. Unfortunately, when the bill came this amount had not been deducted and other items were wrong too, causing us to pay more. A great shame!

Firstly the greeting at the door is less than warm!! Felt like he didn’t really want us there!! No pleasantries just “follow me”. Service then from the staff was good. Food was at best warm and some was cold. This was a shame as taste wise it’s good. I had cocktails and these were good. Lastly-and this is why we won’t return they put the 10% service charge on. Now I am happy to tip good service - but we really object to this being added then having to say”take it off”. No facility to change amount it’s pay 10% or nothing. I will decide if and how much not the grumpy owner. 😡.

Ate here today atmosphere was zilch, food was basic & bland I thought I had an asda frozen spaghetti Bolognese it was flavorless apart from me adding chilli oil, garlic bread was thin . Won't be rushing back as there's a lot of nicer places around to eat at. Staff didn't look to happy either.

Great place to eat in the Centre of Salisbury. UK. The restaurant looks over the Guild Square with tree lights for a nice atmosphere. With very friendly and helpful staff making your visit really nice 🙂 Reasonable prices for freshly cooked food.

Visited for the first time today. Had the lunch set menu - food not exceptional but perfectly OK and very good value for money. Ambience was warm and bright, and staff friendly - very welcome on a dreary day. Look forward to a return visit.

The food was great and the place was pretty full with a good mix of ages. The staff at Wildwood were really busy, but looked after us brilliantly. Wed definitely eat here again.

Being in the hospitality business, I am reluctant to post a poor review of a restaurant, not least because I know how hard it is. I have often experienced poor service, but this one too the proverbial biscuit! The restaurant was not busy but our waiter and the manager steadfastly refused to make eye contact with us, preferring to get on with their jobs and readying their coats for a quick getaway. The food too was indifferent and, needless to say, I will not be returning.

2019: The restaurant staff were very helpful, the manager especially....he was very accomadating and sorted me out with an issue I was having very efficiently...The food was top notch....never been before and decided to take a break from shopping, the food was good it came out quick...the price we paid was reasonable.....very pleased indeed. Edit 2024: Still a decent place to go. They have a lunch menu, affordable and quick service. The soup was delicious.

Ended up here tonight because pizza express was unexpectedly closed. The atmosphere was nice. Lots of great Italian options on the menu. The food was really nice and one of our group who can be a little fussy absolutely loved their lasagne. Desserts were good and very generously portioned. Service was very polite and regular but without feeling hassled. A great dining experience.

I've never eaten in one of these before but it was OK. They burnt the hell out of my steak but other than that everything was great and I'd give them another chance.

Lovely food. One of our favourite restaurants. But the baby changing table in the downstairs toilet is precarious & dangerous.. should be able to strap the child in but instead the strap is caught near the wall & the while table is dodgy. Needs replacing before an accident happens. Please be aware & amend as we love it here otherwise!!

First time dining at wildwood and was pleasantly surprised. Were able to walk in a get a table , despite the restaurant looking busy. Food and service was good. I did not like the way the garlic bread with cheese was presented - all the pieces were stacked on top of each other making them difficult to eat. I would return :)

My fellow diners weren’t entirely happy with their meals but I loved the vegan lasagne. The food was quite slow to arrive but it was a busy Saturday so to be expected.

Recently visited with a party of 30 people for our works Christmas outing. Understandably a fair few staff members had to serve us, and were completely understanding of everyone's needs - and made for a smooth evening! The food was great, and absolutely recommended!

Great service for our party of 6, all happy with our meals and drinks. Lovely waitress and other staff who catered well for my gluten free diet … Allergen chart easily available (via QR code) which gave an extra level of reassurance. Defo recommend to other coeliacs - seems note has been taken from any previous incidents - thank you and we’ll be back!

We had our works do here, alot of people of all ages with various dietary requirements and age restrictions and the staff handled our large booking very well. A party of about 30 guests, we had pre ordered and the food was exceptional. Food was perfectly seasoned and presented beautifully. The host of the restaurant was so friendly and helpful, witty sense of humour which really made the evening a fun one seeing as their was so much going on in and around the table with the service. All the servers were attentive and welcoming. I can't fault it, it was a pleasure to be there.

Lasagne rubbish burnt and stuck to dish steak charred , second visit friend ordered lasagne very sloppy waitress stroppy snatched menus chicken burger cold, heating turned off staff with coats on , went out and all said rubbish won't be returning!

It may be better here on other days, but they don't want to cater for Sunday's apparently. Half the drinks menu wasn't available, meaning you had to pay more for less, the reason given "it was a Sunday". No strawberries to make the birthday girl her strawberry lemonade, but still on the bill. Food items not available but not informed so other choices had to made instantly. Child's burger meal was larger than adults burger meal, difference being the adult had a slice of tomato and lettuce. No checking as to whether anyone needed any sauces. Staff gossiping right next to the table, we understand their can be problems in their personal lives but it sounded as if they weren't being supported by their bosses, made for a tense atmosphere. The food was nice, however the rest of the experience made me want to avoid in future. 10% service charge was added to the bill, told we could have it removed however felt awkward requesting that so left it, even though it did not feel that the restaurant actually deserved it.

Sunday seems to be a bit of a gamble as to what food and drink is available, it's an enigma why they open as it felt like end of season emptying stock to close for winter, I'm sure the staff would appreciate having Sunday off not having to serve. What was available was tasty though.

We recently had the misfortune to have a family birthday dinner at this restaurant. There was 24 in the party, 6 of which were children. We preordered our food so did not forsee any issues. Service was woeful, 6 times we requested water for the tables, my son requested a straw 4 times before it arrived. Rosemary garlic bread to share was thin and like cardboard, it took over an hr after the starters before the mains started to arrive. The mains did not come out together, when they did arrive, one arrived with a plastic tag mixed in with the food. Mine and my husbands was cold and 2 other members of the party received there mains after everyone else had finished theirs. Servers were miserable and not helpful in any way. Thanlfully they did not have the nerve to add a service charge. We will never set foot in the restaurant again.

Went for my daughters 18th meal! A fee staff were really sweet but some were absolutely useless! Had to ask soooo many times for cutlery and then she asled us to pass each other our meals. But the main issue is the tiny portions which worked to our favour in the end as the food is diabolical! No love in any of it! Out of 8 of us only 1 ate their meal! Those so called chefs need retraining! My son who eats anything said his chicken burger was the worst one he's ever tried! Dry as a bone! Safe to say we won't be returning!!!

Desperately sad meal. To be fair this was our second choice restaurant the first let us down by cancelling our booking. However we arrived with hope and expectation, I should have guessed by the state of the gents toilet door it would be poor. The next clue was a customer behind us ordered a Prosecco and the waiter brought an Espresso coffee. Despite there apparently being lots of staff, service was protracted and when we chased up our order it was delivered shortly after. It was apparent that some of our order had been ready long enough for it to be a lower than ideal temperature, whilst he fries were molten. The warm pizza would have been great if it had been hot, not sure the sad burgers would have been much improved. Normally we would have sent the meals back, but we were going to a concert at the Arts centre so didn’t have sufficient time to do so. I’m sure there must be something better in Salisburys Centre, but it’s not obvious.

We visited on a Friday evening when the restaurant was very busy and were made welcome even though we had not booked a table. Our pizzettas with mixed salad were excellent value, the staff were helpful and the atmosphere was buzzy. We would go back again.

Meal was changed after ordered as wrong steak. Coffee machine not working. It felt like staff did not want to be there.

Walked up to a half empty restaurant on Monday night and told to go away by the manager as bookings only. Then find there are bookings online within 15 minutes. Very poor. If only they did zero star reviews.

Menu looked decent at first glance with a reasonably priced 3 course lunchtime menu for £14.95. Ultimately though it was disappointing. Food decidedly average, but the real let down was the wait. An hour between started and main. Then the bill was messed up and the individual who brought it really couldn’t have shown less interest. You live and learn, but I won’t be back.

Myself and my partner visit wildwood very regularly, as it’s our favourite restaurant in Salisbury. We’ve always had wonderful experiences. From the lovely welcoming to checking in on us and then to the friendly goodbyes. Absolutely delicious food, and lovely drinks.

Found a raw prawn in my salad!!! I told the waitress but didn't even get an apology or money off bill. I could have been allergic to shell fish. Didn't come to give us our bill for ages either. Not very happy.

The burger was absolutely tasteless, it took at least an hour to serve. Did not get my sweet potatoes chips at all. Don’t think this is the usual around here. What happened?

Typical "Italian" restaurant. The Calzone disappointed me, it was very underfilled, it had too much edge. The Lasagna was not bad, it was delicious and it was a good portion.

why when there as a surprise meal for my 30th birthday. one of the the guest was quite upset because everyone's food came out except one persons so while one end of the table started eatting our end stopped as felt so awkward eatting without her, so our food went cold while waiting for her pizza to come out. when it did come out and was mentioned to our waiter (in a slight annoyed way I will say) the waiter apologised and said he will sort the pizza from the bill due to the long wait. the gentleman serving us (who I'm guessing is a manger of some kind) then gave terrible service. we had to ask for our glasses to be collected when Empty ect. when one of the guests again complained about the cold food as he had a few vodkas at that point and noticed it was 20% the one pizza not sorted as he originally said made my friend very upset and dissatisfied. the manger (I'm guessing) then goes to say sorry again to which my friend said wasnt good enough nothing else was offered. he then started to overly apologise which was done in such a manner it was started to annoying and winded up my friend more the whole side of my table was shaking our heads at the manager and saying look it's fine please just stop apologising and leave it. which he didnt do he then walked over to him to stand over him and apologise again very loudly. at this point my friend got up and just walked out. this manger then after he has made the situation 100% worse and everyone had paid the bill which come to over £250 then loudly infront of other customers bangs £20 in our table in and shouts at myself and my other friend I will go get you 1.95 this he said repeatedly about 4 times as we where saying no thats fine. he then quickly snatched the 20 back as well. I can understand why I'm friend was annoyed and that he can come across as loud but I feel the way the manager/waiter engaged make the situation worse and completely ruined my birthday meal, especially with his attitude. there was a lovely young lady waitress who could definitely see how disappointed I was and wished me happy birthday in a awkward and apologetic way. I would very much like to be contacted by your customer service team as working in hospitality myself I know the way I was treated and this mans reaction is completely out of order.

Very tasty food, they are quick to serve. We were there for less than an hour for a main course and dessert.

Enjoyed an excellent meal with very attentive staff in comfortable surroundings. Wish we lived nearer so we could visit more often.
