A trip to the circus on the common followed by pizza has become a family tradition ... marking the end of the summer hols and return to (and starting) school for my two little grandchildren. Our waitress Abi was smiley, polite and ever patient with the grandchildren, who were just beginning to tire after a long and exciting day ... thank you! And we all enjoyed our pizza, salad and nibbles ... the well-balanced children's menu is perfect for little ones ... some raw veggies and a humus dip to start, following by a small pizza and then... ta da .. a perfect little ice cream sundae!

Great location but poor service, ober an hour for pizza, then arrived undercooked and staff were very stretched. Won't visit this one again.

Me and my oldest friends just had the best evening at this pizza express. The waitress Nat was one of the kindest people I have ever met and made our holiday. She was so kind and generous and sweet and offered us a lift home, cannot thank you all enough ❤️

Amazing service at Pizza Express today. The gentleman who served our family was brilliant, friendly, welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Not only did he look after us, but he also made our dog welcome, too! He was so helpful with the menu making the Pizzas bespoke to taste. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you and we'll definitely visit again!

The Introduction of a new 'classic pizza', has improved the taste of their pizzas significantly, though still expensive for pizza, the double crust deals with the soggy taste that I have experienced with their smaller pizzas, and they seem to (in general) cook their crusts longer, but you can just ask for them to cook it well done. The romana and regular pizza offerings arent competitive with ask Italians offerings, but the Classic definetly does!

Overall a pretty reasonable place that shares its entrance with another store. Food was good and staff seemed friendly. Parking a bit of a pain.

I would have given it four stars if the service had been better. The waitress was not at fault, they were struggling with too few staff. Surely better to pay for someone to just make coffee and desserts? We waited half an hour for pudding order to be taken (we had to get the menu ourselves) then half an hour for desserts to arrive. The coffees were stone cold . On the plus side the pizzas were hot and fresh. We are gold tier on the pizza express app so it’s ok value for money but without that it would be too expensive.

Genuinely awful food. The staff eventually made up for ignoring us but the food was awful. Go to ask, trust me, it's the best option.

This was a last minute decision, as we were all hungry. It was OK and we left feeling refuelled but it could have been so much better: nobody was available to greet new customers on arrival, our waitress was cheerful but could have been more professional, the food arrived pretty quickly and the dough balls were excellent; the pizza and calzone were OK but the chicken caesar and pollo pesto were a bit lacking - no pesto in the latter at all!

We had a lovely meal today at pizza express! Our waitress was amazing and so attentive to my little girl. The food was good and it was nice and cool inside, so we were able to escape the heat! Thank you again, will be returning soon with Daphne our dachshund ❤️🐶

Had a lovely lunch in the sun with my partner. We chose the chilli prawns and calamari to start which were both severely underwhelming. Followed by a funghi pizza to follow which was tasty, but at nearly £16 for a thin and crispy pizza with maybe 2 mushrooms sliced on top.. We won't be returning.

Friendly service and the best American ever

We had booked a table for 6.30 as we had children with us. It was my grandson's 10th birthday. The youngest child was only 4. The service was abysmal. It took 3 hours for us to be served 3 courses, At one point, one of the children was in tears as they were so hungry, or should I say hangry? We've been many a time before, but this trip was a massive disappointment. We'd have cancelled the order and left if it hadn't been a treat for a birthday

Just called in, no reservation. 19:20. A couple of tables occupied. One server supported (?) by a disheveled kitchen hand seconded to waiting on tables I guess. People who came in after me served first. No drink offered. No idea of priorities. Give up, walk out. Pathetic excuse for a pizza joint. Never again. Management should get down here and fix it

Lovely gem on the high street, staff were really friendly and accommodating, food was really nice too. They even had Peroni Reserva!

Perfect atmosphere for our family reunion. It was Friday and Abi took care of us, she’s a fantastic person with a sense of humour 😆 We were personally taken care of, and after having a knee replacement recently I felt reassured to know that I could sit comfortably. Personally, I had the Beetroot Buddha bowl with vegan dough balls and it was all most enjoyable; infact to die for. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service matched the food if not made the night. Thank You Pizza Express and The Marlborough Crew for making our time together most enjoyable and memorable 🙏🏻😉 We will certainly be back - With the trio in tow

Absolutely amazing service from our waitress Abby Moon. We had a small window of time following a drive from London to attend a family funeral and needed to have a good lunch before the service in Oare. Abby was attentive and helpful, reminding me to log in and use the benefits of my app. She greeted us with and warm smile and was incredibly helpful, even to the point of helping us find a florist for some last minute flowers. Amazing and very grateful for her service. A lovely Pizza Express and worth a visit if you are in the area.

We had a great experience here. Quickly seated and served by happy attentive staff. I had a Calzone, the missis a pizza. With beer and cocktails. Well presented food in a nice clean environment. We sat outside in a nice sunny spot. Definitely worth a visit. 👍👍🍕 🍺

Definitely worth 5 stars in all categories. Had an Anchovy topped pizza with black olives and cheese. Delicious ! Very friendly and informatives staff particularly Abby and Issy. Will be back soon . Richard.

Lovely Pizza, lovely. The only drawback is when I visited, it smelt like sewage where we were sitting.

What a great meal and excellent service my son and I received when we visited the Marlborough Pizza Express for an early Mother's Day treat.. The staff both Nat and Abby couldn't have been more helpful we were so well looked after. The food was delicious, one of the best Pizza Express' I have been to. We are so lucky to have this in our town. Thank you and we look forward to coming back very soon.

Was really lovely. Great window table to watch the world go by and delicious food, including gluten free pizza. Staff could not have been more professional, helpful and charming - especially Abby.

Second time visiting this restaurant. We had booked as a party of 9, but person who greeted us was not in the best of moods. Gave is the choice of 2 tables, one of which was not set up/laid. We sorted that out. The atmosphere was OK but the restaurant is long and thin so you are either squashed in or in an area in your own. Person who took over serving us for desert was much nicer/happier.

The lady that served us was super friendly and got us settled in very quickly. She also recognised that the children were hungry so took their orders whilst we decided what we were having, which helped keep the kids calm. Also they have a great gluten free menu.

Went for a lunch on the Sunday just gone, have to say if your looking for a peaceful lunch then avoid. Completely full of students from the local private school had more of a feeling of a common room then restaurant. Staff seemed to be annoyed with them too so maybe not take as many in at once? Food was good and so was the drinks, would try again but at a different time!

Tues 26th September UW pizza Connect event .. After a HO mix up where the table for nearly 30 hadn't been booked, the young girl ( pink hair) on her first shift managing the restaurant, happily sorted it out . It didn't phase her or the rest of the team at all. The orders were quickly taken, the food all came out together- it was hot and delicious. We were looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The best experience we've had in their to date .. All the staff you lovely and polite and a credit to pizza express and the Marlborough branch.

Quite an interesting quirky setting for a Pizza Express - set in an old building on historical high street. Also has a pretty courtyard. Good service - food came quite quickly and staff were friendly. For a chain, prices do seem quite high now for a casual lunch (£50 for two smallish pizzas, two soft drinks and two coffees) but look out for money off coupons before booking.

We got there and were told there would be a wait of 20mins for food, which wasn't a problem. We did get our starter, which was lovely. Then, we waited for 45 mins for the main. The food was lovely but disappointed that we got no apologies for the long wait. I appreciate you were very busy, but just to keep your customers informed makes all the difference. One lady we overheard had waited over an hour and ended up leaving.

The restaurant us bigger that it seems from the front and has outdoor space at the back. We ordered dough balls, halloumi bites and pizza. The service was quick and staff friendly.

We went early so plenty of kids in the restaurant - pleasant but noisy

Even though there were few customers on arrival we were seated right by the aisle and bar. The traffic was constant either with staff or patrons. Abrupt staff verging on rude. Rushed when ordering. My advice don’t bother to visiting!!

Birthday party visit for a friend of my son, making pizzas. Nat was really helpful and didn't rush us at all, and a lot of fun was had.

I think that this visit to Pizza Express may well be my last ever visit to the whole chain. It was just so unremarkable and it cost me over £50 for the privilege of being so underwhelmed. Poor service - waiting ages for order to be taken, then they didn’t clear the starters before bringing the mains, the dessert menu never materialised after we asked so we gave up and left. Rip off food - mushroom starter was literally a couple of mushrooms tossed in some herbs for £7+, Buddha bowl barely had any hummus, was dry and tasteless… I chose to go here when in the area as pizza is a safe bet for my child, but even that was lacklustre and pizzas should be the best thing they do given their company name. I have been a mystery customer in Pizza Express in the past and this one fails on all levels. I’ve frequented in the past with various vouchers and not been since they stopped doing the offers and now that it’s full price with ‘rewards’ on the app (the introductory one for signing up had even expired) it’s just not worth the money. I could go somewhere else and spend much less money and have a better experience. Farewell Pizza Express… Marlborough branch has ended out relationship once and for all.

July 2023 I haven't visited or been to pizza express for almost 7 years but quite honestly speaking the quality of food hasn't changed!! We enjoyed our dinner and definitely will visit again but surely not after 7 years!!

Not only is the food excellent but our waitress and general manager (Natalie) were more than helpful. It made for a delightful eating experience, thank you all in Marlborough . We had a salad that was fresh and beautifully presented

Went friday before last, at 9pm. We were one of only 2 Tables in the restaurant at the time. Wait time was an hour?!, my pizza was under a heat lamp i assume for the most of that time by the state of it. Partners Pasta was inedible, how can it take so long and be so bad when the restaurant was so empty? No apology given apart from not charging for pasta no actual verbal interaction and we were ignored most of the time we were there. I have as you can see cut this pizza in half to show the state in which the egg was served, clearly overcooked under a heat lamp and bread was solid.

Visiting Marlborough from Dubai and thought lets check out pizza express. What can I say, amazing service, great staff and service. Impressed and Natalie the manager was amazing, kind, professional and very polite, something that I only experienced in Dubai. Hats off for a great service. My order was the Margarita with jalapeños and the famous doughballs. Great ambiance

Great food, good atmosphere. Service wasn't so good, staff didn't seem too happy but it was very busy

The pizza part was fine, the “express” element was sadly missing. Over a hour wait for mains and then the chef “forgot” one of the orders so that was another 10 minutes’ wait. The table next to us gave up and got their food “to go” in the end because their kids were falling asleep at the table. Then the bill was wrong. Skipped dessert as it we’d been there so long and our kids were bored and tired. The team were working hard enough but the problem seemed to be huge takeaway orders taking priority over restaurant guests. I wish companies would look at how badly their operating model is impacted by prioritising take away over the customers who are right there in front of them!

Had a free pizza night organised through my part time business for just helping people save money and earn an extra income. Friendly staff and the food was very tasty

We visited Pizza Express in Marlborough High Street this evening for my daughter’s birthday. The staff, and our waiter Joe in particular, were so lovely and bought my daughter a gorgeous birthday platter and sang her happy birthday! Pizza was as good as ever. Our fave pizza place in Marlborough (and there are quite a few!).

Came for New Year’s Day lunch… 17 of us - three families with 9 young children! 😳🤪 Clare and Matty looked after us and were brilliant. We pre-ordered and it was all correct and good. The chaos of 9 children was calmed by the great service and quickly delivered pizzas. Thank you Matty & Clare.

Have been here before and it’s been fine, but our latest visit was disastrous. We were three friends wanting a meal early in the evening. We hadn’t booked but when we arrived we were told to sit where we liked as there were many free tables. It really wasn’t busy. In spite of this it took over 20 minutes to take our order, including drinks. So we spent 20 minutes just waiting. Not even a jug of water. We ordered 3 beers and 3 pizzas. We received the beers and then waited, and waited, and waited. Two ladies arrived a good 30 minutes after us and when their pizzas were delivered we asked what was going on. We had to ask for a round of drinks to compensate for the poor service as there was no apology or explanation. When our pizzas turned up, an hour and 15 minutes after we arrived, they only brought two. Somehow they had “lost” part of our order so only two pizzas arrived. We asked to speak to the manager, who was unapologetic. At this point we declined to pay for our meal in full, and left. Absolutely appalling. The only positive was the waitress who originally showed us to our table. Sadly after that we were dealt with by other staff and the manager, none of who showed any reticence not apology. They could not have cared less,. I have always enjoyed eating out. And do so regularly, and I prefer to see the positive. I just can’t see anything positive about this experience

Incredible place! I've visited quite a few times and always find the perfect mix of brilliant ambiance, wonderful food and incredible service. Personally, I have a lot of allergies and the staff/kitchen were really kind and accommodating. The chef, Kira, did a brilliant job, the food was amazing! Thank you to Clare and Jonny for their incredible service and kindness - absolute stars! One of the nicest places to eat in town!

I know it’s only pizza, but the Franco-Italian waiter was excellent. Olives were revived from my pizza and replaced with anchovies. We were a group of five and each had three courses and drinks. Service was very good. Only point of note is that this place does not offer a Hawaiian pizza….and no pineapple in the kitchen. I always thought that the Hawaiian was the quintessential pizza?

Just wanted to hop on and give a huge shout out to the absolute diamond that is Natalie at Pizza Express Marlborough. Dining at a restaurant we know and love for it's family friendly atmosphere for my husband's birthday was a no-brainer - but on clock change day, it was still a great risk...(don't know about other parents out there, but our children don't care much for outer clocks when their inner clocks tell them it's time to get up...) Natalie went above and beyond what could possibly have been expected, bringing our son back from the brink of utter exhaustion a good few times and charming our ultra-shy daughter into placing her very first order ever herself. Natalie, if you read this: You have been a star. I'd recommend this place to anyone - but especially families ❤️

Food was tasty and came out quickly. Service was okay, waitress wasn’t too friendly but was helpful enough. Coffee machine was broken however, but nothing could be done about that. Overall decent enough evening but nothing too special.

This restaurant has a very good environment, very clean and tidy, the food is not only beautiful in appearance, but most importantly, it tastes very good, with good color and taste. The method retains the original taste of the ingredients, which is fresh and refreshing. And there are many choices of dishes, and the price is not high, it is suitable to go with the family.

The best pizza we ever had in (City)!! The pizza was so delicious and with so many flavor could choose that we even visited the pizza shop twice in the same day! Consistently great pizza with great variety of toppings and styles. Service is fast too. Can’t go wrong with this place. You could just take away or standing finish your pizza in the store.

Great branch of Pizza Express located conveniently within the pretty high street of Marlborough with plenty of nearby parking. Facilities are clean, and all the food is of the quality you'd expect from restaurants of this chain. Even better that the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful!
