Waited around for ages for the girls to stop chatting by the tills, we got a child's burger and chips and when all the food came he had more food on his plate then mine (also burger and chips) his was a fraction of the price so no idea how that works, finished our food quickly as portions where very small. Wouldn't go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here while visiting Edinburgh. Very friendly staff and the Manger is rather comical, made us laugh loads!! The sea bass was delicious and all of my family enjoyed their meals, really lovely food. We didn't book but they still invited us all in (6) and catered for us and quickly too. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Took our order online without disclosing they were closed. It was within their sited open hours online and on Google Maps. They kept delaying when they would refund the payment that went through from paying online since we received no food and we were patient with this delay. We waited a few days and they now haven't refunded it at all despite saying they would and they aren't answering our messages. Will have to report as fraudulent to our bank, very frustrating experience. We also that evening had waited our order time and drove over to pickup so largely a waste of an evening while on holiday.

Beautiful food, cooked well. Price fair enough. Owner was so friendly and welcoming, nice to his staff too, definitely would go back.

18 months ago I ordered a delivery from here, and they put cheese in my risotto even though I requested it to be vegan as I have a cow’s milk allergy. That made me so sick that I didn’t want to consider eating here again for a long time. But today I decided to give them another chance. I chose to use a delivery service that gave me the option to state that I did not want cows milk in my food. 95 mins later and it hadn’t arrived, and the order did not show as being prepared on the app. So I called the restaurant to politely ask if they were preparing my order as I didn’t know what was happening. The person who answered the phone (after it rang out 3 times) was incredibly hostile. He was unreasonably angry at me, and initially refused to answer and told me to phone the delivery company. I gently asked again (since only the restaurant could tell me if it had been prepared), and he huffed and sighed at me, like I was being unreasonable and an inconvenience. He snapped the answer back and then practically hung up on me. I will never try this restaurant again. It’s appalling to talk to anyone in this way but especially a paying customer.

We ordered garlic bread and fries for starters. We waited 1 hour before we got our main courses (+ fries. They would otherwise have been nice to have for the waiting time). A table of 7 that came after us got half way through their food before we got ours. We felt forgotten and got no updates, we had to ask ourselves. Our waiter said he had to send our food back as it was not ok and this was the reason after 40 min. All the food tasted really good apart from the lasagna which was bland. There was almost no bechamel sauce in it and it lacked taste. I added a lot of salt and then found out that there was also a lot of pepper in the salt (don't like pepper or anything strong). My waiter happened to come by and just swapped the salt around with another table - so someone else gets a surprise. I had grated parmesan cheese on my lasagna at the table which ended up everywhere, including in the drinks. A small bowl that you could control yourself would be preferable. We got our drinks for free as he knew we had waited a long time and that is a plaster on the wound. But unfortunately that couldn't save it for us. When we first got our food we had almost no drinks or desire to be there. Hope this makes sense from the Danish translation.

In town from the US, we're always a bit nervous about bringing kids to a nice restaurant. The staff was very friendly, food was very good, and they treated our kids like family. 5 stars

Really good restaurant. We both had one of the artisan pizzas and they were fantastic as was the calamari for starter. Staff really pleasant. If I'm back in Edinburgh I'll be going again.

Went here for a works night out. Service was fantastic and we were well looked after. Food was really good.

Really lovely place on a central location in Edinburgh. Staff are amazingly welcoming and friendly and genuine, making sure we had everything we needed. This will be a top suggestion for when friends visit the city. Try the sticky toffee pudding!

Not the best experience here. Walked in to a not very full restaurant with a party of 7. Got treated poorly right from the start because they had to move tables for us. Took 25 minutes to get our drinks and 30 for our starters. Meal came out after being in the restaurant for an hour. Food was not tasty. Service was bad as we were ignored the whole time. Tables that came in after us ate and left before we got our meals. Not pleased.

While on visit to Edinburgh we discovered Wildwood Lawrence greeted us at the door he was very welcoming showed us to our table we a nice chat about Scotland and France the waitress who took our order was very pleasant and friendly we both had the risotto which was very nice well worth a visit

Local small restaurant. Have eaten there several night. Close to Doubltree City Center. Reasonable prices for area. Great service, casual atmosphere, good selection of food. Pizza, pasta, burgers, seafood, salads.

Food was good waitress taking plates away before everyone had finished eating, mains arrived before starters were finished and still waiting for tap water to arrive eat it and beat it comes to mind

Sehr freundlicher Service, feines Essen und ganz nettes Ambiente. Pizza hat sehr gut gemundet. Nur der kleine Salat zur kleinen Portion Spagetti Carbonara war etwas trocken. Sonst prima!

This spot is such an amazing Italian place in Edinburgh, super central and easy to get to. We went here both for dinner one night and lunch another and we were happy both times. The food is amazing, perfect sizes and taste super delicious! Erin was our server both times and she is such a lovely person who made the experience even better. Super helpful, accommodating and sweet, you are lucky if you get sat in her section.

didn’t get a chance to try the food at wildwood today as we waited for 10 minutes, with zero acknowledgment of our presence in the restaurant alongside a few others. It seemed the staff were trying to avoid bringing more business into the place, disappointed as we had booked in advance and were looking forward to it. Ended up opting for a neighbouring restaurant who took us in within seconds.

Great eatery, priced surprisingly well for the area. Staff were amazing and food was lovely.

My Mother and I went here just before we went to see a Fringe Show. Service was great, staff are lovely. Food is amazing and is really affordable and me and my mother got cocktails, they were great as well. Would definitely recommend.

We managed to get a table for 4 without booking and the waiter was very friendly but the 2 of our dishes were served luke warm, one one was greasy.. the pizza was ok

Party of 8. Absolutely awful the only good thing was our waitress excellent service from her amazing memory. Very over priced food which was bland. Steak undercooked after it being made aware it was to be very well done. Flavourless Cocktails different prices on different menu's check your receipts. We will not be going back. Very disappointing.

Update: I sent an email to the email address provided by the restaurant as a response to this review and I included the case number. That was 2 months ago, still no feedback or response to my email. Yet another waste of my time. Quite disappointing. We arrived at 16:30 and waited a while to be seated, which was fine because they looked busy. Eventually someone came to seat us and told us the service will be slightly delayed because they're busy. We understood and continued to be seated. Our drinks and food orders were placed at 16:50 and we received our drinks a few minutes later. Fast forward to 18:30, the restaurant was much quieter yet we still hadn't received any food, not even our starters, whilst people who came in after us were already being served their food. By 18:50, we asked for the bill because we couldn't wait any longer as all we had been served were our drinks over the period of 2+ hours. When the bill came, we were also charged for the starters which never arrived. It was quickly cleared up and we paid for our drinks and left. It was rather disappointing to see people getting served before us even though they arrived way after us, and also sadder because we wanted to have a good meal to celebrate our engagement.

Stopped for a bite to eat for lunch. Lovely food and service . Really nice spot on Lothian Road. I enjoyed the salmon and haddock fishcakes

The first time I really loved this place. And I risked taking my just graduated friend for lunch after 🤦🏽‍♀️ This turned out to be a sad part of that joyous day. They were so slow and we got to know that our order wasn't given to the chef after the Drinks and starters were served. They forgot to bring 1 dish, right till the end. Thankfully they realized and didn't bill us for it.

Terrible service. We had a party of 8 with half the table waiting for their food when the other half had finished theirs. Staff did not have a clue and had to be reminded several times we were waiting for food and drinks. Dreadful.

Was originally going out for an Indian which ended up being closed so decided to walk back towards the hotel for an alternative restaurant and found this gem. Food was really tasty and the staff were helpful and polite. Will definitely be coming back here when i visit Edinburgh again

Excellent food which included an extensive gluten free selection The waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and even advised that a certain meal could possibly been cooked with a gluten meal with a possible cross contamination Superb meal with multiple choices We tipped our waitress as she was very knowledgeable and caring If you like Italian then this is a great place to go

We discovered this restaurant a few days prior in London & loved it. This location was no different. Delicious pizza, pasta, salad, and drinks. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Would highly recommend. We wish there was a chain in the United States.

This place was also close to our hotel in Edinburgh, so we ate lunch here one day. The food was good and service was great. The server was friendly and answered some of our questions about Edinburgh. Interestingly, one of the photos posted by another reviewer shows the exact table where we ate in the restaurant, and it is empty.

The songs playing had no right to slap as much as they did

So I'd love to rate this place higher we had a lovely meal on the £10 deal and the service was great but when we went to the toilets on leaving they were disgusting. They clearly hadn't been cleaned there was definitely residue sick on them and other stuff and this was on both toilets which were functional the 3rd was out of use!

Casual dining. Came across this place by chance. Came back again later in the week during our holiday as we like it so much. Friendly staff. Varied menu. Good value for money. Excellent food. Highly recommended.

Overall a not so great experience. Only one person serving (plus another who Im presuming was the manager) so service was quite slow, food was reasonably good. I was quite upset by the managers attitude by the end of the meal and quite frankly it put a dampener on the rest of my evening. Not sure I'll be going back any time soon.

I was in Edinburgh for a concert with my daughter so decided to go for dinner first. We went in and we were greeted by a male worker and were shown to a table. After 5 minutes no one had been near us to ask if we wanted to order drinks or food. After 10 minutes, still no one came over. Then a group of 5 were ushered to a table seated next to us. 15 minutes passed yet still no one had been to our table. A waitress then went over to the table of 5 next to us to take their order. My daughter and i then grabbed our coats and walked out the resteraunt. Not a place I'll ever go in to again. Very poor service.

We were hopeful for a quick bite to eat before a show. We were extremely disappointed. After 20 minutes or so our starter of garlic bread was brought, with no plates. We had to ask again for our drinks order which we hadn't received well after finishing our starter. They then said they had lost our order completely so gad to take it again. We must have waited another hour before being served a very mediocre meal, not enjoyable at all. No apology when it was finally delivered either. To top it off a service charge was added to our bill. We obviously didn't pay it. The best thing about it was the drinks and the banter with the other customers who were all equally dissatisfied. We won't be back and suggest you go elsewhere too. Sorry!

Met 3 friends here 17:30 on 17/5/23. Waiter came over and was quite bubbly , took drinks order then ten minutes later came and took food order. After waiting nearly forty five minutes the waiter was asked if there was an issue in the kitchen ,we explained we were going to a show so time was of the essence. After a further few minutes we asked him again where our food was his respond was astonishing, " I don't know" he said.We told him to cancel our order and because of the extremely poor service we were not paying for drinks (4) . He agreed to this but after leaving the restaurant he then came down the street and said he would call the police unless the 2 alcoholic drinks were paid for. It seems he knows the law but doesn't know what's happening in his kitchen. ! This restaurant was not busy, a couple who had sat down after us left before us as they got fed up waiting for someone to take an order. Hopefully this place will learn that it's very important to treat your customers with respect and communicate with them if there are issues. Footnote: All the other restaurants nearby were super busy, we too have learned a lesson !

Outside of the restaurant and also the inside looked nice, but the food i ate was meh/bad(too much spices or the food was bland). Food was also expensive for its size and taste. Also the time it took to get my food was too long. I waited for my drinks, starters and the main food for a really long time (+2 hours altogether). The staff was nice though but the waiting time for my food was too long and the food wasnt very good. Wont be visiting this restaurant again.

Absolutely awful. Waited nearly an hour, the food was cold, dry and way under cooked. Couldn’t fault the supervisor or the wait staff, but the “chef” should be ashamed. Had better from the freezer in Aldi!

Arrived at restaurant, which was relatively empty (especially for a bank holiday Monday - should have read the signs). Waiter was attentive and efficient with drinks. Despite being only people in restaurant, food took over an hour to be served - after 45 mins waiter...

Went here for a traditional Easter sunday meal with family. The food was nice enough but found the portion sizes quite small for the price. We all had a main course and desert. However a few of us were still hungry when we left!

Ordered a pepperoni pizza with ham and fries on Uber Eats. Said it would take 20 minutes to arrive, actually took 50 and was stone cold when it did. Also forgot the ham I paid an extra £2.50 for which I was very displeased with. Good quality food ruined by poor service - avoid delivery

Staff were fantastic. Although they do not have accessible toilet, they went above and beyond and even asked neighbouring restaurants if they had one instead. Despite there not being one in the restaurant or in the neighbouring restaurants, it was really appreciated what they did to try and help.

Its OK, food was alrite. Service OK. Having asked twice waited 15 mins for the bill ended up going to the bar to pay. Late afternoon we had a starter and a main took hour 45. If looking for a quick bite leave plenty of time.

Staff done well to fit in a large, unannounced group of 10 at short notice. We only had to wait 45 mins for a space. However, it was down hill after that. Easily the slowest and most dis-organised service I have experienced. After getting our table, we waited 20 mins plus without any staff asking us if we wanted beverages. They had plenty of opportunities and walked by simply looking uninterested. Our patience broke and we beckoned one to the table. Due to that delay. We ordered food at same time as our drinks. After another delay for our drinks, we we then had a long delay for our food. After 20 mins were informed there would be another 40 min wait. When the food arrived, it was in the most dis-organised manner with mains arriving before starters and cold sides. Credit where due, all in the party had nil complaints about the quality of the mains or starters. Just the delays, service and cold sides.

We stumbled on this place as it was close to our hotel . My wife got pizza and it was the nicest pizza I ever ate as I tasted a bit .😀 I got the rack of ribs which fell off the bone and were absolutely fantastic . It was that goo we are heading back tonight before we leave . All at a reasonable price .

We went into Wildwood for Valentines Day as it was conveniently close to a venue we had an event at. The staff were very friendly and the place was nice and clean. A couple next to us however were not happy, constantly swearing audibly and...

Service was shocking! Waited over an hour for starters which were OK. Ordered a gluten free pasta dish for main was uncooked & inedible. My dinner companion order a chicken burger which was OK added a slice of bacon which cost an extra £2.50 which I think is ridiculous for a slice of bacon!! Don't recommend!

Absolutely wonderful food, atmosphere and service. I had carbonara which was delicious and my partner had the burger which she enjoyed immensely. Service was really good, very friendly and smiling hosts, good beer, good atmosphere and the price was extremely reasonable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, 10/10

Great service, and perfect food in taste and represent 👌🏽

Food was fantastic, but the wait times really hampered our experience. Seated at 7pm, 7.30pm for two bottles of prosecco, starters at 8.10pm (for some of the table) and main courses served at 8.35pm - one of which was incorrect. Understandable if it was exceedingly busy or short staffed, but is was quiet and well staffed. It was so disheartening to spend over an hour and a half watching takeaway orders from deliveroo and just eat get prioritised over people dining in the restaurant, especially when we did enjoy the food so much!

We looked up this place online and I checked that it was open, I even checked reservations which were all free. We decided to walk in and the place had about 10 people dining in. We waited about 5 minutes until a member of staff eventually showed up, only to tell us a private function was on, despite the restaurant being 90% empty. Poor service, but we ended up with a better meal down the road due to their lack of service here!
