In genere non vado mai nei ristoranti italiani quando sono all'estero perché lo so che non si mangia mai cibo buono ma da Giuliano è stata un'esperienza decisamente positiva . siamo stati trattati molto bene ,si parla anche l'italiano , anche se noi non abbiamo nessun problema a parlare l'inglese e i cibi sono buoni come in Italia. Giuliano segue tutto personalmente e ci tiene molto che i suoi clienti siano soddisfatti. È un esperto della ristorazione. La lista dei cibi è molto varia e ce n'è per tutti i gusti e i prezzi sono giusti. Noi ci torneremo sicuramente

È la prima volta che all' estero mi reco in un ristorante italiano. L'accoglienza che ci hanno riservato è stata ottima. Il cibo è preparato con dovizia e ben presentato. La qualità delle pietanze è alta. Il personale è molto attento alle esigenze dei clienti e Giuliano, il proprietario, sempre molto cordiale: è una di quelle persone che ti sembra di conoscere da sempre! Consigliatissimo!

My family was staying next door at the Holiday Inn Express so this restaurant was convenient for us to enjoy dinner on two occasions while in Edinburgh. The first meal we ordered was a fresh pasta for me (L15.40) and a Risotto Giuliano (L16,50) for my wife. Service was efficient,, the meals wonderful. Returning to the hotel a week later, we decided to dine again at Giuliano’s. For tis dining experience I ordered a Tagliatelle Bolognese (L13:50) and my wife their Vegetarian Penne pasta. Both tasted every bit as good as our first meal. Highly recommend Giulianos.

A party of 5 who had booked a table for 3pm on Saturday. Restaurant was quite empty and we were shown straight to our table. Orders taken and drinks served. Starters were bought out but before they were finished the main courses were served. Although the food was good I felt we were being rushed.

Rude staff and mediocre food. We’re a family of four and hadn’t booked. With only two couples already dining, we were shoved in a corner and made to feel like an inconvenience. After paying over £100 plus tip the waiter actually shooed us out.

Meal very nice but check you bill we had an extra dessert and the wrong price for a bottle of wine on the bill. Time between courses a bit rushed.

I very rarely write reviews, but my experience at Giuliano’s warranted it. Firstly, the reservation was for my girlfriends birthday and upon entry was greeted with a cold reception. We were seated and the waiter couldn’t wait to leave us, this remained a theme amongst all serving staff throughout the meal. Firstly, the starters we ordered (garlic bread with cheese and arancini) could have honestly been bought from a supermarket, microwaved and served, sub par. Secondly, our mains, whilst they were not terrible, again felt like something that could have been purchased as part of a dine in for 2 from Tesco, at a far more respectable price. Overall, the food did not appear freshly made in the slightest. To summarise, the service was poor and cold from all front of house staff, the food was bang average/shop bought and to be honest, we couldn’t wait to pay the bill and leave as soon as possible. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Questo ristorante ha partecipato a 4 ristoranti di Borghese ed è arrivato terzo, non oso immaginare come sia quello che arrivato quarto. Ci siamo letteralmente capitati per caso a pranzo di mercoledì 3 aprile 2024 e non è stata una esperienza positiva. Location 4/10 Vecchio, anni 80, pareti color rosso mattone, tavoli con tovaglia da trattoria e copri macchia bianchi di carta incerata che i camerieri non hanno mai cambiato, una spolverata e via, nuova apparecchiatura e avanti un altro. Menu 3/10 Menu vastissimo, decisamente troppa roba....quindi siamo andati su una semplice pizza.......aiuto!!! Quasi mezz'ora per 3 pizze, il ristorante aveva 10 persone, il mio calzone schiacciato come un omelette bruciato fuori e crudo dentro, aveva anche gli immancabili "meat balls" all'interno, l'impasto era talmente compatto da fare pensare che fosse stato preparato al momento con 10 minuti di lievitazione, che spiegherebbe 30 Min di attesa. Servizio 5/10 Cameriere italiano, camicia sbottonata fina all'inizio dello stomaco, non una particolare comunicazione verso, ma ho visto di peggio. Special (Tiramisù) 6/10 Ne ho mangiati di peggio in italia, anche se piuttosto asciutto. Conto 4/10 Margherita+prosciutto e funghi+calzone farcito, 1 cocacola, 1 acqua e un tiramisù 62 pounds e 50, circa 69 euro decisamente troppo (dopo aver contestato 9.90 sterline per un bicchiere di vino!! Consiglio? Se cercate un ristorante italiano a Edimburgo evitate questo.

This is the second time we have eaten here before going to a show in the Playhouse and we couldn't fault it. The food was excellent as was the service and the staff were great so am so surprised to hear some of the negative comments. The restaurant was extremely busy so there was a really good atmosphere.

Been here several times food is always great but we have been noticing that items are getting added to our bill. On one occasion £32.00 was added for a bottle of something we didn't order. Second time we got charged for pints of beer when we only had half pints then on our last visit the added £7 for extra drinks we didn't order.

Service was terrible no interaction with customers I was there with my daughter and adult granddaughters, the food took ages to be ordered and delivered, it was lovely snd it was hot, so no problem there, we thought we would like desert but after waiting 15 mins with the desert menu and no waiter we decided to give up,. I was so disappointed and we will give it a miss the next time we ate in Edinburgh

We really enjoyed our meal at Giulianos. It is across road from Edinburgh playhouse which was handy for us. Lovely staff and very quick service, food was tasty great value for money. We would visit Giulianos again!

We looked forward to eating here as previously had a fantastic experience many years ago, so visiting Edinburgh we decided to book a table for 4. We were so disappointed. Our starter of brushetta was a shop bought baguette which was soggy and the tomatoes tasted raw with bitter garlic! We mentioned this to three waiter would didn’t seem interested- no apology! Main meals were ok - nothing special- lasagne had obviously been sitting as there was a film over the sauce. The dessert was supposed to be a panna cotta it was in fact a shop bought creme caramel!! Service was awful! No offer of refills for drinks and no offer for coffee! We asked for the bill and left without leaving a tip as the food and service was awful and waiters disinterested!! So disappointing and unfortunately spoiled our friends birthday night out. Will never go back or recommend again

Service was awful very slow and long intervals between courses. Really disappointing. Asked for dessert menu but it didn’t arrive so asked for bill and left. Waiter looked surprised when we didn’t add tip to bill. Won’t be back

So disappointed with the service delivered while we dined this evening. We were ignored while asking questions. Main meal delivered to table when not everyone had finished our starter. We have been going to Gulianos for 20 years as the food is excellent but the last 3 times we have been met with really rude waiters. For the first time In our adult life we did not leave a tip as so disappointed. Will not return unfortunately.

My wife and I visited this restaurant last Tuesday night . Well we have visited a few times and weren’t disappointed. The staff are all very friendly and definitely know there jobs. The food was excellent I ordered the haddock and it was superb can’t remember what my wife had but she enjoyed it as well. I’d highly recommend this Italian restaurant

Booked this for a treat for hubby's birthday. Food, as always is outstanding! Service was 'ok'. The place is very busy and the servers do their best I am sure. My husband was thrilled to get ice cream with a candle for his birthday. A very nice touch. Thank you so much for acknowledging his special day. Can't wait to return. Our favourite Italians in Edinburgh.

Won't go back, had booked for a pre-theatre meal... waited an hour from ordering for food to arrive (just a main course) and almost missed the show (literally across the street). Staff were not understanding or helpful. So, so disappointed.

Great food, no questioning that!! The apple pie desert was one of the best I've had. The service was very hit and miss. The gentleman that welcomed us at the front desk was very kind and considerate. Very charming. Unfortunately, our waiter (wearing glasses) seemed to want to be anywhere else than there that night. Other tables were offered water, we weren't. When I asked him for a recommendation off the menu he seemed put out by this. When offering parmesan we only recieved about half a teaspoon before he walked off. In general, he was just rude and brought the whole vibe of the family meal down. Another waiter (with a beard) was serving other tables and was so friendly and chatty- we really wish we had him! The food was great, I cannot complain. But the service from the waiter we had, really brought the tone down. Such a shame. Try and paint a smile on, at least!

This authentic Italian restaurant is better than any other restaurant in Glasgow or Aberdeen that we have visited. We are both Italian and on each visit the food has been exceptional.They made us a lovely seabass fillet with very tasty vegetable side dishes. There is a varied selection of wines to choose from to suit every palate. Giuliano and his staff are so attentive and value each customer. Definately do not miss out on going to this restaurant located opposite from thr Edinburgh Playhouse and close to the Holiday Inn IHG Edinburgh city centre.

This place is outstanding! The pizza is a must! The side salad was huge; and the wine spot on. I happened to just walk in; but absolutely see myself coming back.

What a great restaurant. We were on a tour and had the opportunity to eat at Giuliano's. We were on our own for dinner and decided to eat close to the hotel. What a find. This Italian restaurant offered many varieties of dishes. We noticed the large serving sizes so we decided to share. Marcia our waitress came out with our one entree on two plates. We ordered a seafood appetizer and a seafood spaghetti dish. So Good!! And you can't leave an Italian restaurant without tiramisu. So if you are in Edinburgh, stop by Giuliano's.

We stopped in for dinner, no reservation, and were immediately escorted to a table. The place was much larger than what we expected and was decorated with an Italian theme. The menu was large and each of the meals were excellent. The pizza was outstanding. Our waiters were friendly and we had a wonderful evening and dinner. If we would have had more time in Edinburgh we would definitely return to Giuliano's.
