Found by accident while out driving around the area. Popped in for a quick lunch about 2.30. Quits a few people in there. Burger and chips were nice. Coffee was good. Toilet was clean also. Would be a good destination if it wasn't pouring with rain as could sit outside.

Arrived 2.35pm and asked for a menu. Was told no hot food served after 2.30pm. Bit disappointing after a long walk because this place is miles from anywhere on the towpath but okay I’ll settle for a sandwich. Nope, no sandwiches either after 2.30pm. So if you’re diabetic don’t bother because all they offer is cake and crisps. There is literally no savoury or none sugary choices. Realising I’m going to have to go hungry and not relishing the long walk back starving I order a drink. I’ve had their coffee before and found it expensive and disappointing so decided to play safe and have tea instead. No teapot, a teabag barely shown the tepid water in the mug. Absolutely not worth the walk or the money. It’s expensive too for no good food choices and no service. I gave it 2 stars just for the view because it’s in a marina.

Had 2x quiche chips and salad from the specials board, the quich consisted of a warm rubbery consistency, no taste of cheese, roasted vegetables etc, the salad was 1 lettuce leaf with a single slice of tomato with perhaps a tiny little hint of red onion, some French fries and a spoonful of coleslaw , underwhelmed even at the price of £6.00 not very good, at all !

We were disappointed by our welcome. It was 2.45 and asked if the kitchen could provide food. The reply was a firm no. We only required a sandwich. However, we settled for cake. The tea was made without teapot (dunked) and the coffee was just okay. The surrounding were clean, inviting and picturesque. The facilities were very clean. The menu did look value for money, but tea and coffee expensive for what it was. Overall this has potential to be an great stop off, but needs to be more welcoming and improve drink quality.

I have been a few times now with the family for cafe lunches, and every-time I just want something a little bit better! It’s nice! But it isn’t amazing! The staff today didn’t really engage, and no welcome or asking if everything all right! Generally no conversation. If u compare it to other cafes in the area, with similar pricing it just isn’t good enough. Which is very annoying! As the location is lovely, the new walk onto the canal is fab. And the new decor is good.

After a lovely walk across the peat moss area with friends we visited this venue for a light lunch before walking back to our car. We sat outside as the weather was lovely and we had a dog with us. We ordered paninis which were very good, came with salad and coleslaw. No problems there. However I do have a gripe. I had earl grey tea, which arrived in a smallish mug with a tea bag in. Now if I were in a transport cafe no problem but this purports to be a café. To add insult to injury the tea bags were ‘tea pigs’ which are considered by some somewhat up market. (Give me twinings any day) My point though is that when you are using ‘superior quality’ tea bags why are you not using a pot? To me it seems completely incompatible. Furthermore my tea cost £2.20 for each mug which I thought extortionate. On Amazon a 50 pack of earl grey t pig bags are £10.75p which makes the cost per bag just over 21p. Therefore to my mind £2.20 per small mug of tea, be it ‘speciality’ or not, is far too much. Had it been presented in a pot the price would be much less of an issue. I did take it up with one of the staff who said that they used to have pots but that they had been removed. She did say she would try to establish if some could be reintroduced. Also the staff were happy to provide another mug of hot water if requested. The staff were very nice and the venue and surrounding area lovely but please get some tea pots!!

So many happy memories of coffee, cake and snacks in the Summer of 2021. As places opened up again we discovered Whixall Marina cafe. It never disappoints. We relaxed in the outdoor area, feeling safe in the fresh air. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Car parking is plentiful and easy. The coffee and snacks are good value. Throughly recommend. Good indoor seating as well.

Excellent and friendly! Delicious soup, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. Lunch stop off the canal well worth the short 10 min walk. Tip: follow the signs over the bridge onto the road as the path on the opposite bank does not go to the marina.

well frequented by cyclists and boaties its quiet country spot for a break, snack , tea coffee.I had the "special of the day" lunch, lasagne, chips and side saled which was very adequate at £7.95 -prepare for a shock though with "windolene" coloured coleslaw! tasted ok though. Nice outside grass area although not on a wet day-a marque is available as well Unlike most of Whixall this marina is signposted but do use your sat nav to find easily -80 miles of lanes in this very spread out village!

This lovely cafe is in a wondeful location, overlooking the marina. The staff are also wonderful, very welcoming and helpful. Aside from the cafe there is a very nice covered area where you can enjoy a snack from the varied menu, everything is well priced, well cooked and presented. The menu offers some delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as providing for those with special dietary requirements. Easy wheelchair access and tables that are well spaced. There is a car park that is a short, flat walk to the cafe. The views across the marina make this place extra special. Highly recommended.

Good covid arrangements in place too and it was a beautiful day, well worth a visit, I will be back soon!

This is a lovely upgraded faciltty spoiled by the fact that actual opening hours frequently do not correspond to those advertised either on various websites which in themselves seem not to agree and in the local magazine The Wemian which clearly states 09.00 - 17.00 (9am - 5pm). Confusing! We have been on more than one occasion within stated opening times only to be disappointed or turned away.

Went for Sunday roast on recommendation and was glad to see they were busy. We have visited marina cafe for excellent meals in the past but today left feeling a little disappointed by the Sunday roast. One person in our group opted for the large option at 2 pounds extra but to be honest all they got was a bigger plate! There was no difference in the amount of meat( beef) potatoes or veg. We had been told they had run out of new potatoes and would be given extra roast but each of us only had two...even the large meal. Service rather slow and no cutlery came with meals we had to go and ask. Hope this was a one off as would like to support local business and will come and try the afternoon tea soon.

We were looking for a cafe to cycle out to for our Sunday Club Run and found this on Cafe Network so thought we’d give it a try. We found cycle racks at the side when we arrived which was a good sign. The menu is great and caters well for breakfasts, lunches and even puddings and its also good value. There is a nice view out of the windows over the marina and the outdoor seating will be great in summer. Im sure we’ll be back.

Visited for a Curry Night and my wife and I were served 2 very poor curries for £7.99 each. The Vegetable Korma was basically Swede and Carrot but couldn't tell what the other vegetables were, maybe some peas. The cafe is in a beautiful and idyllic location with splendid views of the tranquil marina. The cafe offers a selection of drinks and snacks as well as full meals, on the day we visited the special dish was Hunters chicken. The staff were pleasant and cheerful but the service was a little chaotic and table clearing could be better organised, but I appreciate that it is still early days. If the weather is good then the outside seating is recommended as it provides the best views. All in all a pleasant place for a snack or light lunch.

We visited for full English breakfast and were really looking forward to it, given the beautiful surroundings, but we were disappointed. We waited patiently for 40 minutes, then the order number after ours was called. Confused, my friend enquired about where our four breakfasts were, and was basically ignored and they appeared without any explanation for the delay or an apology. Once we’d nearly finished, the cook approached our table and said that the reason the food was a bit of a wait, was that everything was cooked from fresh and she couldn’t cook any faster! I dread to think how long these would’ve taken if the cafe had been busy! Our breakfasts were barely warm, and empty apology left us all feeling disappointed.

We headed to Dee Dee's firstly because it is situated within The Range store, where we happened to be browsing, and secondly, because it advertised that it was serving Costa Coffee. We were killing time, waiting for a relative to undergo a hospital appointment, but we waited a LONG time to be served. I actually began to time it on my watch, silly I know, but I was beginning to think that we would have to ditch our idea of a coffee and head back to the hospital. In the end, we waited a little over 18 minutes to be served. Yes, the coffee was Costa, but not served Barista style, more of the kind of machine one finds in a buffet breakfast at a hotel, select your drink, press the appropriate button and the machine dispenses the drink. The staff seemed to be rushed off their feet, with one young lady taking orders and delivering coffees and another, older and more experienced lady putting together the food orders. One felt for them, as they were clearly understaffed and rushed off their feet. Yet, being British, we all stood there and queued! Costa coffee is okay, not nearly as special as it would like to think, but we got what we paid for. The seating area was nicely laid out, sufficient space between tables, but it was all rather canteen, rather than a coffee / cafe /bistro experience. The management should really look at their staffing levels and help out the current members, who are doing their best.

This olde quaint pub/ restaurant is impeccably run by Sean and Tasha. The hospitality shown by Tasha was both welcoming and warm . Service was prompt, and the food was fabulously delicious, Sean was working in the kitchen, obviously the mystro chef. This couple work hard and will be successful without a doubt.

So where do I start, let me start by praising certain members of staff such as the chef and a young waitress who were both nothing but lovely. Our issue (not the first time) is that a male bar tender who looked like Steve cooper (Leicester manager) made a comment our dog had jumped up at the door (literally 2 seconds and then sat down). I’m sorry but, this is dog behaviour and in advertising that you are dog friendly it is accepted that you understand such. We were made to feel apologetic for having a dog, which in a country pub should not be the case. 90% of the uk population have an increase in dopamine when seeing a dog or having interaction with a dog. Sadly we have been made to feel uncomfortable drinking and eating here, We will be attending the PLOUGH pub in Pontesbury from now on. Very sad!!!!!!!!!
