Whitton Cafe - Wednesday 16th November 2022 - 12:30 I haven’t eaten in here for a few years and preferred the The Imperial Cafe which is sadly no more. I’ve walked by here on numerous occasions and it’s always busy so today we thought we’d give it a go. Entrance is on street level but has a manual door. Definitely new owners/staff from the last time I was in here. Very busy, order was taken promptly and the food came out in no time. I went for the Mix Grill without gravy and it was very nice, very tasty. My mate had the Set 1. Unfortunate this will probably be my last visit here as I’m moving abroad tomorrow but if I’m in the area I would come here again.

We popped into Whitton cafe yesterday, ahead of the rugby match as it was busy and the food in customers' plates looked quite good and the right quantity. We were right, it was indeed very pleasant food, served quickly and by polite staff. Prices were very correct too.

Love this place usually and been a customer for many years however recently has gone downhill. Went for breakfast this morning and was ignored for 15/20 mins at my table! Not the first time this has happened! Won’t be going back ever! And especially as their prices have just increased too!! Sad times!

We occasionally come here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. If you want some of the fancier hipster breakfast items like avocado on toast or organic granola, then it’s probably not for you. However if you want traditional English breakfasts, freshly cooked, with great coffee then this would be a great place to spend a relaxing hour or so. And it’s brilliant value for money. There are a number of different breakfast combinations featuring sausage, bacon, eggs, black pudding, hash browns, bubble and squeak, beans , mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread etc all served with bread and butter. We had two large cooked breakfasts, coffee and tea with refills, all for about £15. Everything tasted great, and the service was very friendly and efficient. The place was packed and deservedly so. Excellent and highly recommended.

I’m a nanny and after going to the library I decided to stop off and get lunch before taking the baby home for her lunch. First time at whitton cafe and the jacket potatoes are lovely! Very fairly priced too at £4! Unfortunately though when I checked on Uber eats, they charge more for the same thing. So it’s best to go inside and make the order. I’ll certainly be back though.

A good cafe with reasonably priced food. We called in for a breakfast whilst staying at the Premier Inn as we felt that their offering at the Winning Post next door was overpriced. This cafe offered a wide range of breakfasts at under £6 including drinks. The service was friendly, the premises clean and the portions were generous. The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5* was the quality of their sausages - cheap, catering sausages!

Great cafe when visiting the other week with some mates and we had a great fry up with proper tea!! Whilst in Whitton I was told about the xmas lights festival coming up. Local roofing company called Wheel Barrow Gutter maintenance apparently a sponsor of event. Mate of mine used this company and is now out of pocket due to terrible work undertaken.

After many years of successfully eating at Whitton Cafe I decided to go there again with a friend of mine. When eating the food, I noticed a stray hair in my baked beans. I immediately reported it to the waitress who just took the plate and stared at me without any apology or a replacement plate of food. When it came to paying up, they demanded the full price and said it was suspicious that I reported the hair after eating most of the food. I was horrified and my friend paid up and we left. This used to be a lovely Cafe but since they’ve changed ownership and staff, I will not be coming here again. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place!

Whenever there is an England rugby game at Twickenham my partner and I always pop in for a late breakfast before kick off. We have been coming for many years and it is one of the many things I look forward to on rugby days. The staff are superb and very friendly. Ewa & Laura are always asking after us and it is nice to see such friendly faces. The breakfasts are delicious, we go so often that as soon as we sit down they know exactly what we want to eat and drink. I would highly recommend this café to anyone visiting Twickenham.

I always go to Whitton cafe with my two boys at least twice when down visiting my mum - it's one of the things my youngest (now 12) gets most excited about. I always have double egg and chips, though there's a big selection, and it's really fast, really cheap, and really good food.

The staff were very accommodating, especially the 'slightly older' gentleman, who was passionate about the food served which lived up to his recommendations from th extensive menu. Most menu items arrived freely prepared and were very reasonably priced. Try the karela dish, although this 'veg' is not to everyone's liking, this place did a cracking job with it! You could do a lot worse and pay a lot more in places half as good in this area. Loved it!

Whilst staying at the nearby Premier Inn we decided to walk to the High St., a 5 min stroll away, and our family party of five decided to have breakfast there. We all chose something different and our drinks came very quickly, followed shortly afterwards by our freshly cooked breakfasts. We all enjoyed these so much we returned the following morning again for a cooked breakfast . Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were very efficient and friendly. If you want good food at a very reasonable price the Whitton Cafe is the place to go.

Proper cafe! Great service, great food, great atmosphere! Stumbled In today with a sore head, busy is an understatement, ended up sharing a table with a lovely lady who had lived in the area for over 39 years! Lots of stories, she too also speaks highly of this place. The waitress served me with a beaming smile, was polite and asked all the right questions i.e. How do I want my eggs etc Coffee was perfect and arrived promptly after the order was taken, considering it was full to capacity, the staff were obviously used to the fast pace of the establishment, and the food arrived well presented, hot and more importantly tasted great. Plate was cleared quickly and I decided to pay at the till as there were people literally queuing for the tables.Reluctantly writing this on here as inevitably it will be even harder to get a table, but credit where credit is due it's a gooden!

Whitton Cafe is always busy and that's a good sign of quality. Its a lovely place with friendly service and really too nice to call it a greasy spoon - which essentially it is. the menu choice is wide and the typical all day breakfast is good quality without swimming in fat. Whitton Cafe has been here ever since I can remember. It is a little gem of a cafe in Whitton High Street that is well known amongst the locals, and others visiting for the rugby at nearby Twickenham Stadium. It provides amazing breakfasts, huge lunches (especially Sunday Roasts), tasty snacks and dinners throughout the day from early morning to tea time. You have to be early to get a seat on rugby days and mornings as many fans, locals and workers alike flock to this little treasure that is located opposite the Admiral Nelson (in case you miss it, it is quite small, it has a green awning). There are tables outside for sunny weather/smokers. The staff are very friendly, smiley and attentive; you don't have to wait too long before your order is taken, once seated, you will take more time trying to decide what to have! The menu varies from breakfasts, lunches, dinners, etc; they are hearty and plentiful helpings, well cooked and delicious. You can choose anything from a full cooked English to a slice of toast for breakfast, there is plenty of variety. The prices are exceptional value for money. We love coming here on a Sunday morning for brunch as often as we can and this weekend will be no exception!

We used to order often food from Batterfly, delivered at home. This time we went to have lunch at the place with my wife (disabled) and our westie. The owner (he was alone) refused us because of our little dog. The room was empty, and our dog under the table could not have done any dammage. However this is not indicated anywhere on the door or restaurant window. No compromise, no kindness, no apologies for the absence of warning. It was clear the guy (the boss, because he said "I decide") did not want us, nor maybe any client today. We won't order anything from him anymore. The food is generally acceptable, but not better than elsewhere.

Well, we were here today for a Mothers Day lunch. We’d been a couple of years ago and it’s been decorated since then. It looks much better. We looked at some of the meals been served nearby and they all looked decidedly underwhelming and a bit “ greasy spoon cafe”. So, undeterred we thought we’d play it safe. We just ordered mains. One daughter had the mussels and my wife, myself and our other daughter had the roast chicken. The chicken was really nice but the vegetables were overdone, the Yorkshire pudding was a limp sponge and my roast potatoes looked like boiled ones. Having said all that I did polish everything off and it was quite tasty. Jess said her mussel sauce was a bit bland and the portion was small for a main course. As for the positives: the wine was good, my gluten free beers were great, our cocktails (quite a few of them) were very good and so was my coffee. But everything took an age to come out of the kitchen and one of the blokes bringing it out looked like he’d been sleeping in a duvet in the nearest bus shelter. Our waiter, the only English chap, was excellent but he had to keep apologising for the slow service. For Richmond, the prices were not bad and we actually had a very nice time - but then we are a family that gets on and pretty much always have a good time when we are out. In essence, it’s a good place in some ways but a gastro pub it is not.
