Filthy dirty and thick with dust, paint work etc looks like it's never been cleaned. Appalled! Stupidly thought I'd give this place a second chance as we frequently travel between Chester and Plymouth and this is approximately half way. Today they turned us away informing us that they were running low on food and walk in customers are not their priority! Unbelievable that any hospitality business can be running low on food before breakfast is finished and don't value paying customers. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business somewhere that is deserving my custom.

Stopped by for breakfast this weekend. Food was delicious and there was so much variety! Sadie was great and very helpful upon greeting. Another member of staff that shone was lil, who just seemed to be smiles even with how busy the restaurant was. Took the time to check on many customers and have a little chat ! a young lady named Keely cleared our table and she was very polite. would recommend the place!

Popped in for an evening meal with friends. The staff were wonderful and very polite. The food was hot, came out in a very good time and cooked very well, I had a rare steak. The manager Lil was great and saw our drinks were low and got us more, she’s definitely the best. Will be back very soon and hopefully have room for some deserts.

Order and pay on order is not right for a restaurant. I have problems with my legs so the long wait was painful. As there was a large queue I was pressured into paying quickly I used one voucher and forgot to use another. The server did not ask me for loyalty card, but must have known as I had a voucher only obtainable with membership. Poor training, or careless. Manager totally unhelpful, leaving me seriously out of pocket.

I was with friends who call in regular as it was one of their regular drinking haunts. We arrived just before nine pm, not long after their restaurant emptied, and staff almost outnumbered customers. We waited some time to be served as there was no one behind the bar. Then, a member of staff came from out of the back and served us, surprised as someone who should have been serving was not there. The second time, we were served reasonably quickly. The third time, just before ten, we were waiting a long time as the member of staff collecting glasses was engaged in a very long conversation with a couple of customers. Then, when we had been served at we sat down at the table inside a bell was rang. At ten fifteen, the member of staff came times and said that he would be locking the doors in fifteen minutes. So we finished off our pints outside and left.

Wow! Where do I even begin? Our experience at Whittle Inn Brewers Fayre in Gloucester was truly elevated thanks to the exceptional service provided by Josh. As avid bikers who have explored every nook and cranny of the county, we've encountered countless pubs and servers, but none quite like Josh. From the moment we walked in, Josh greeted us with a warmth and enthusiasm that immediately set the tone for the evening. His knowledge of cocktails was truly impressive, and he effortlessly crafted the most exquisite drinks we've ever had the pleasure of tasting. Each sip was a journey of flavors, expertly mixed and perfectly balanced. But it wasn't just Josh's mixology skills that impressed us; it was his genuine passion for his craft and his unwavering dedication to ensuring we had the best possible experience. He took the time to chat with us, offering recommendations and sharing stories, making us feel like old friends rather than just customers. Josh's attention to detail was impeccable, from the presentation of our drinks to the timing of each course. He anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them, ensuring that every aspect of our evening was nothing short of perfection. In a county known for its pubs and hospitality, Josh truly stands out as a shining example of what exceptional service should be. His professionalism, friendliness, and talent behind the bar are unparalleled, and we can't wait to return to Whittle Inn Brewers Fayre for another round of cocktails served with a side of Josh's infectious energy and charm. Thank you, Josh, for making our evening one to remember!

Went in this evening for a couple of quiet games of pool with the family. Decided to eat knowing the food would be mediocre at best. Waitress was less than friendly / helpful on delivering food. Then as soon as the food arrived a passive aggressive intoxicated member of off duty staff decided to shout across the bar at us while hiding behind a fruit machine. We only go here as its our nearest bar but I wont myself through it again. When spending near £150 on a quiet casual evening I expect a little better. Not much but a little better than this.

Worked here when I was 18 and was dismissed and accused of stealing when it wasn't me. (I had suspicions who I thought it was) Was treated disgustingly, and was too young to stick up for myself or understand that I'd been unfairly dismissed. I was banned for coming in for 6 months and ordered off the premises, then came in for food with my family a year later and was met with hostility. The landlord/manager's partner said 'What are you doing here!' Think I've been twice or thrice since for a drink, different staff but never been impressed with the place.

Had a lovely breakfast last weekend. Service was excellent and very friendly, loved that part. The miss that attended us explained what a traditional British breakfast would have and helped us decide what we wanted to try. Besides that, food options included Croissants, pain au chocolat, pancakes, fruits, cereals, juices (which are the weakest part, as they're artificial, not natural). Coffee and other hot beverages are also available. Prices were reasonable.

11.45 on 27/12/2023 Not impressed with the food ATALL TBH. It's overpriced compared to other restaurants I've eaten at. I had the steak and ale pie with chips and a side order of garlic bread with cheese . Certainly WASNT STEAK in the pie !! The garlic bread for the £4.16 was a joke !! No exaggeration but the size of the bread was an absolute insult to the paying public. The coffee comes out of a machine, which is Luke warm to start with. 2 other people sat eating so no excuse for poor food. It's quite obvious it's all PING meals. I was treated to an early lunch by a good friend so pleased I didn't actually pay, as that would of been even worse. I realise this pub is part of a chain, but value for money , it is DEFINITELY BELOW AVERAGE compared to other pub chains !! To add insult to injury, less than 24 hrs after I ate at whittle inn, I was struck down with upset stomach. I can only put it down to the (steak & ale) pie as that, and cheese on toast was all I had to eat the same day. No longer a customer of whittle inn Brockworth Gloucester. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND !!

There was plenty of choice from the help yourself buffet service and the food presented as expected. Staff were courteous and nice and it all ran like clockwork. This is a mid range facility providing an early almost fast serve service and as such is not fine dining, nor should it be expected yet it delivered exactly what it offered so that is enough. We visited the Queens Head Pub in Gloucester this evening for what was supposed to be a warm and memorable farewell party, but sadly, the experience left much to be desired. We had booked a table for 8 well in advance, but two additional people joined us last minute, something that’s not uncommon at gatherings. Instead of accommodating this small change with a bit of flexibility, the lady serving us acted more like a strict hostel warden than a friendly host. The attitude was brusque, unwelcoming and lacked hospitality completely. Rather than taking care of us with a smile, we were met with a sour expression and curt comments about our party size. While they arranged for a table for 10 after some discussion, soon it was announced that food choices were limited to mains only ( at 8 pm). No sides or starters were available, very strange and unlike other pubs in and around. Adding to this, when one of the friends picked a chips from another’s plate we were immediately told off saying food cannot be shared and an extra service charge will be added. Instead of helping us find a solution, made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The rudeness didn't stop there; throughout the evening, this person seemed impatient. It genuinely felt like we were being chastised for daring to enjoy ourselves. The food itself was average at best, but any enjoyment we might have had was completely overshadowed by the poor service. At a time when we wanted to celebrate and relax, we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. A little courtesy and flexibility go a long way in hospitality, and unfortunately, Queens Head seemed to lack both. If you're looking for a pub with a friendly atmosphere and accommodating staff, I’d recommend steering clear of this one. We left disappointed and regretting choosing this venue for such an important occasion.

The food was brilliant and when we got there to pick up the food the little girl called Cathrine was especially kind and friendly They even chipped in free spring rolls and prawn cracker 🫶
