Whittle Inn Brewers Fayre in Tewkesbury

had a great meal at the whittle with family. service was great staff very helpful. the food was a good portion size and hot. i can recommend the tikka curry. we will be back to try the new menu in a couple of weeks.

MOTHERS DAY .........I was absolutely disgusted with this place. We booked a Mother's Day meal with the family. It was busy a you would expect there was no guidance at the tills as to where we should stand, a huge queue was behind us, got told we were stood at the carvery till whilst the staff just looked at us rather than calling us over, other people got served before us and the others behind us, when eventually ordered got told most of the puddings were sold out !!! What a joke not to be prepared for a Mother's Day menu!!! Then when my 78 yr old father politely mentioned the issues with the general manager Sadie, we got a torrent of 'didnt care' we the 'customer is never right' and continued argessive characteristic abuse. That's not what you want to have done to you when you are making a complaint about the atrocious service we had already received!!! We can't comment on the food sadly as we left after being treated like we did and WILL not be going back!!!! And I never got to spend mother's day with my mum 😡!!!!

Six of us came for Mother’s Day. We had a mums eat free voucher sent through to us so we knew it was going to be busy. We arrived early so our table wasn’t quite ready but the lady with red hair (sorry didn’t get name) quickly took us to a table what was ready. Becky took our order and made our drinks efficiently then the gentleman on the carvery was making us laugh and speaking with my son who has multiple disabilities. I always get anxious about planning for meals out because I don’t know how my son will react to the surroundings. The way we were looked after and treated by the staff was so lovely and refreshing when they were busy. We will definitely be coming more often :)

Took my mom here for Mother’s Day, and it was a complete disappointment. The place was filthy—dirty seats, sticky tables, and an overall grimy feel. The food arrived lukewarm, definitely not fresh or hot. To top it off, the person who seated us had a terrible attitude, which was the last thing we expected on a special day. Won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Been coming to the whittle for some time now, staff are lovely, always smiling and having a laugh. The atmosphere is amazing. Would really recommend coming in for food as it's great quality and a decent price. Special thanks to Sophie, Sadie and Sarah for my food and drinks.

My Partner and I have been coming to this pub for quite some time and always found the staff pleasant and accommodating but yesterday was a different story 10/03/2025 we were greeted by a lovely bubbly lady who always seems to be there when we have gone previously but that’s where the jolly stopped didn’t see this lady again 😒 My partner went to order the food at the bar and the lady was so very uninterested she barked that they didn’t have any chicken goujons that were part of our meal no offer of a replacement she was just very off from the start when the food came it was well over cooked couldn’t eat the chips they were so hard so we’re the onion rings I was very disappointed will we be back to be honest yea we probably will hoping that it’s the lady’s day off 😄and that was just a bad day for the food

Food real value for money and tasty. Served by Ky at the bar who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be going back.

Came in on Monday half term it was very busy but the staff managed to fit us in Kylann and Sarah fabulous service thank you we will be back.

Stopped by with two of my friends. This place was great! Fast and friendly service and a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Becky and Claire on the bar were both super lovely and would definitely recommend giving this place a visit.

Popped in for a quick Monday lunch. Was greeted by 2 ladies who were both friendly, helpful when my friend and I had a few questions. Service was quick and easy. I believe Sarah and lil? Food was hit and great value! Will be back

Went in for a bit of food after a long busy day, was greeted by sophie who asked for allergies at the door. The food was incredible and the steak was cooked perfectly, Sophie offered us desserts after our meal and took it from the table. Excellent customer service, excellent food will be coming back.

Well were weren't best pleased, at the first table we were given the chairs were filthy, much the same at the second, it would have been cleaner to sit on the toilet floor, after complaining again we're were given a table with chairs that were slightly better, if we hadn't been meeting friends I would have left. The food is just acceptable, my fish and chips were luke warm, the batter was soggy and I'm puzzled why I was given an incinerated half lemon. The sharing platter of Nachos was mean which meant we only had about 10 chips between 2 people, honestly 5 tiny nachos per person. The refillable drinks were good and there was plenty of space in the carpark, will I return? No sorry, this place has gone downhill.

Great place. Not much parking but normally just a bit of people parked. Burger was good but buns were very crunchy and bad. Service is super fast because I only waited about 6 mins for everything to come and all of it came at the same time. 👍

Was closed stupidly early (half ten)

Had quite a good few times at the whittle but yesterday was not great. The chicken tikka masala I ordered come out so runny like water and pretty tasteless to be honest. There was no check back done by a staff member either. The lady who served me on the till was really nice

I’ve stayed at many premier inns due to work and in the last year the accompanying restaurant has been rather disappointing. Slow service even when the place is empty and poor food choices. But I can honestly say that this place was fantastic. Friendly staff, very efficient and fast service. And the food choices were great and nice. Team is well managed and does a great job.

Filthy dirty and thick with dust, paint work etc looks like it's never been cleaned. Appalled! Stupidly thought I'd give this place a second chance as we frequently travel between Chester and Plymouth and this is approximately half way. Today they turned us away informing us that they were running low on food and walk in customers are not their priority! Unbelievable that any hospitality business can be running low on food before breakfast is finished and don't value paying customers. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business somewhere that is deserving my custom.

A great place to have food. Usually go for breakfast but decided on meeting a couple of friends there for lunch instead. We were greeted by lil who was so nice! Smiley and helpful. We were served at the bar by Sadie who was efficient and pleasant. Will be back !

Popped in for an evening meal with friends. The staff were wonderful and very polite. The food was hot, came out in a very good time and cooked very well, I had a rare steak. The manager Lil was great and saw our drinks were low and got us more, she’s definitely the best. Will be back very soon and hopefully have room for some deserts.

Order and pay on order is not right for a restaurant. I have problems with my legs so the long wait was painful. As there was a large queue I was pressured into paying quickly I used one voucher and forgot to use another. The server did not ask me for loyalty card, but must have known as I had a voucher only obtainable with membership. Poor training, or careless. Manager totally unhelpful, leaving me seriously out of pocket.

Had lunch here a couple days ago. Service was really quick and food was lovely. A special mention to the young waiter who served - George I believe his name was, very polite!

Stake & ale pie, smothered chicken, smothered platter all fantastic. The pizza however had had chillies added to it that weren't ordered and after having the mixed grill the week before it got ordered again but paid for the upgraded stake version but everything else seemed downgraded

Stayed at the premier inn next door and went in for breakfast. Although food was warm it was the state of the place that got to us. Left over pints outside, floors had food all over, chairs and tables all sticky. Just felt all dirty.

Popped in on the way down to Devon for our Summer holiday, hardly anyone eating at the restaurant, turned away as we didn’t book or staying at the hotel! Shocking how a company wouldn’t want to take money in this day and age.

I was with friends who call in regular as it was one of their regular drinking haunts. We arrived just before nine pm, not long after their restaurant emptied, and staff almost outnumbered customers. We waited some time to be served as there was no one behind the bar. Then, a member of staff came from out of the back and served us, surprised as someone who should have been serving was not there. The second time, we were served reasonably quickly. The third time, just before ten, we were waiting a long time as the member of staff collecting glasses was engaged in a very long conversation with a couple of customers. Then, when we had been served at we sat down at the table inside a bell was rang. At ten fifteen, the member of staff came times and said that he would be locking the doors in fifteen minutes. So we finished off our pints outside and left.

The restaurant was advertised as open until 22:30 but not actually serving food after 20:00 and they close at 21:00 hrs on a Sunday

Average. You get what you pay for. Was all edible .

Nice and clean but have to pay each order as not able to set up a tab . Annoying as should be able to pay final bill . Good was ok and my sins burger was cold

I have been to the Whittle multiple times for Breakfast, lunch and desserts. Never been disappointed with the Service as everyone is always friendly and helpful. On our most recent visit, our waitress Aalia went above and beyond, was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend coming here for a cheap and cheerful meal, no matter what time of day.

This is my local restaurant which I normally come to for a few after work pints. I also frequently have food in here with my partner and I can say it is great value for money and the staff are brilliant. Always have a great laugh with Aalia and Sophie. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Very often pop in to the whittle after work for a couple of pints. Have also had a few bits off of the menu and I mist say it is great value for money and tasty pub classics.

Good,we chose our own table but didn't know we could so we waited till someone told me to seat ourselves.Had a lovely fish and brownie and ice cream (vanilla with chocolate sauce).The environment was good but really old timey

Went in this evening for a couple of quiet games of pool with the family. Decided to eat knowing the food would be mediocre at best. Waitress was less than friendly / helpful on delivering food. Then as soon as the food arrived a passive aggressive intoxicated member of off duty staff decided to shout across the bar at us while hiding behind a fruit machine. We only go here as its our nearest bar but I wont myself through it again. When spending near £150 on a quiet casual evening I expect a little better. Not much but a little better than this.

Worked here when I was 18 and was dismissed and accused of stealing when it wasn't me. (I had suspicions who I thought it was) Was treated disgustingly, and was too young to stick up for myself or understand that I'd been unfairly dismissed. I was banned for coming in for 6 months and ordered off the premises, then came in for food with my family a year later and was met with hostility. The landlord/manager's partner said 'What are you doing here!' Think I've been twice or thrice since for a drink, different staff but never been impressed with the place.

Good value for money family friendly restaurant. Plenty of special offers if you go regularly and the menu has all the typical pub meals plus some special international dishes for that little difference every now and then.

My parents ate here recently and asked me to leave a review on their behalf. They said the food and service was excellent, and in particular, Kieran was very attentive and made their meal and experience very enjoyable.

I've visited here multiple times over the past few years for breakfast, each time I've visited the staff have all been friendly and professional. The food was lovely, and they never got any of my orders wrong! I can easily recommend eating here.

It was quiet. First thing in the morning- friendly service. Food was great too - apart from the poached egg that looked more like it was roasted in a mould but hey, for £9.99 with an EV charger in the car park, what’s not to like?

Had a lovely breakfast last weekend. Service was excellent and very friendly, loved that part. The miss that attended us explained what a traditional British breakfast would have and helped us decide what we wanted to try. Besides that, food options included Croissants, pain au chocolat, pancakes, fruits, cereals, juices (which are the weakest part, as they're artificial, not natural). Coffee and other hot beverages are also available. Prices were reasonable.

Poor service and staff training required

Nice and cozy for a short stop to eat or a full dinner with friends. Burgers are good, chips with Chipotle sauce are excellent. The prices are acceptable and service there for you if you don't mind ordering and refills at the bar. In general, recommended place in this area as there isn't much else around.

An occasional meal out with my brother and his wife whilst they are in Gloucester visiting family, is always a pleasure at the Brewers Fayre Whittle in Brockworth.

Was great as food for a premier Inn stay.

Absolutely terrible carvery. Meat was so tough . Veg were undercooked . Roast potatoes bland and nasty. Would not recommend this place. Get yourself a proper cook/chef. And don't let kids run the place.

Stopped eating here couple of years ago. Was recommended to go back and food was hot, tasty and Service was good. Plenty of seating area for a quiet meal.

11.45 on 27/12/2023 Not impressed with the food ATALL TBH. It's overpriced compared to other restaurants I've eaten at. I had the steak and ale pie with chips and a side order of garlic bread with cheese . Certainly WASNT STEAK in the pie !! The garlic bread for the £4.16 was a joke !! No exaggeration but the size of the bread was an absolute insult to the paying public. The coffee comes out of a machine, which is Luke warm to start with. 2 other people sat eating so no excuse for poor food. It's quite obvious it's all PING meals. I was treated to an early lunch by a good friend so pleased I didn't actually pay, as that would of been even worse. I realise this pub is part of a chain, but value for money , it is DEFINITELY BELOW AVERAGE compared to other pub chains !! To add insult to injury, less than 24 hrs after I ate at whittle inn, I was struck down with upset stomach. I can only put it down to the (steak & ale) pie as that, and cheese on toast was all I had to eat the same day. No longer a customer of whittle inn Brockworth Gloucester. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND !!

Booked for Christmas dinner the starter and dessert were good then main lunch was awful beef was leaving a blood trail all roasted pigs in blankets and potatoes were burnt, veg was all dry

Great staff. Had our Xmas work party there and the food was OK but could have been better. Good mix of mocktails and other non alcoholic drinks.

Lovely meal, very helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. Only drawback is the long walk upstairs to the toilets.

The food was clearly microwaved and thrown on a plate. The place was basically empty on a Friday night. Unfortunately not a good experience.

We had a large group Christmas party meal. The service was excellent. The food was tremendous value and very tasty. I've had far worse Christmas meals at a much higher price at other places As ever, the drinks are very reasonably priced. They even do 2 cocktails for £10! They do an excellent Guinness, too! I thoroughly recommend!

Went for a Christmas meal last night, the starter was lovely as was the desert but sadly the main was not so good ..it was cold ,,not Luke warm, literally cold . Cold food served on a cold plate , my Yorkshire pudding was still icy on the base , it had been defrosted a little but not re heated such a shame as the Turkey and veg would have been lovely if the meal had been hot .

Great food but sadly they put pool table in the over 18s section but not the gambling machines. Very odd for what's advertised as a family friendly pub. Otherwise I'd rate higher

Fabulous all you can eat Breakfast, Continental & Traditional (with plenty of V/Ve options). Polite, helpful and caring staff. There just after 9 - so nice and quiet. No concerns, highly recommend, would be very happy to come again.

Whilst staying in the premier inn next door I ate in the brewers fayre and each time the food, atmosphere and customer service were fantastic and made me feel so welcomed. It was a stand out service from Kirean, Josh and Mandy. Overall they were so friendly and extremely kind. Very happy and would highly recommend.

The food was not edible roast potatoes had been there so long they had fused together brussels and carrots so under cooked could not be cut parsnips were soggy and the whole meal luke warm was trying it out to book christmas day but would not waste my money on sub standard meal . I did complain politely to the waitress butbit fell on deaf ears . Mrs waterhouse

Very helpful attentive staff, had nice conversation with a lovely member of staff relating to lactose intolerance.

Food was of an acceptable standard, however pricing is steep for the portion sizes which are quite small, and the refillable drinks machine; although a good idea, was not adequately prepared for all of the options available which meant some drinks were effectively water.

Food was far to quick to arrive - had obviously been microwaved. Had the cheese & onion pie, but was not very nice.

Reliable, quick, affordable pub type food

This is a plastic pub, a new build adjacent to a Premier Inn. It is fine in providing food for the adjacent inn and meals for the local business park employees, but it isn't a proper pub. I've eaten here several times and the food has always been nice, the service is OK, but the atmosphere is lacking. It's all OK, but nothing special. Try the newly refurbished Victoria pub just a few hundred yards away instead.

Nice meal from the 2 for 11.99 menu little on the small size but quick service and very tasty.

Had a team lunch for 8 people. Good quick and honest food with nice and friendly staff. All the food we had was hot freshly prepared and good quality. Reasonable prices too.

Lovely, affordable food - One thing I'd like I say however is how lovely the staff were, very kind/inviting with my 11 month old - saying hi, waving, talking to him. I'd like to praise (I think his name was) Keiran - going above and beyond for an older gentleman who came to dine alone, made sure he was okay, had a little chat with him and helped him with his food! Such lovely staff at this pub!

One of the best restaurants I have been to while staying at the premier inn working away. Food is lovely 😊

Intially waiter bought the wrong meals to our table. Portion sizes vary widely. One person had a full bowl of curry, another person had the same meal, and the bowl was 3/4 full. This happened last time we visited. Chips looked over cooked and tasted of old cooking oil, and there weren't very many on the plate. Courtesy check was literally as soon as the food had been put on the table

Quiet today went early. The food was fresh, hot, and yummy, really good service from all the hard-working staff. Well done ! 👏 It is good to be able to get Bounus Card points ( claimed a free bottle of wine on this visit ) and then got to use my Defence Discount Card for a reduction in the food.
