Hing Tai in Tewkesbury

Been going here since i was little and the foods been amazing every single time, i always get chowmein which has never not been good, chicken in honey and lemon sauce is what ive been getting for years and would reccomend it to anyone that hasnt had it, only thing i say is that the prices have gone up over the years but if youre only going to have it on the odd occasion its worth it.

Looking forward to a lovely curry Fri night. BUT was Very Very disappointed at the beef curry I purchased. The beef was tough, the curry sauce was like a thin gravy, very bland. NOT WORTH THE PRICE £8.30 with fried rice. The Chinese Kitchen on Hucclecote Road I highly recommend for flavor & price.

I ordered the special curry n ribs Curry very very bland hardly no meat in it..chicken rubbery not nice at all..

We recently visited Hing Tai takeaway after reading reviews on the Brockworth community facebook page. We cannot believe we haven't tried here before for a Chinese takeaway, it was everything we wanted and we shall be using it again. Takeaway was ready in no time and was piping hot. The staff was friendly and the food was lush. A great place for a friday night takeaway night for me and my partner! We shall be using this again soon.

had a few meals from here and all been good. not been salty as mentioned by others. beef in black bean is great as are the noodles, no complaints and will be going back.......

We have been having these chinese meals from hing tai for years, we have never had a problem with their food, its local to where we live, very tasty food , big portions, we have tried other places but hing tai is definitely the best , my family live about 5 miles away and they wont go anywhere else, amazing food

Amazing food, and really good value for money.

Yuck it was too busy and rather than deal with the people queuing outside the phone was answered instead so as not to loose ANY business and people were left outside waiting! Food was very very salty and chicken undercooked. I won’t be going again, shame it was so busy they should have taken the phone off the hook for five minutes and served the people there. Some waiting for half hour In the queue to pick up orders. Took on too many orders and as a result lost a new customer

You can get a sweet crispy beef with egg fried rice and its £7.50 or £8.00. Also its very delicious food. :)

We have been using Hing Tai since it opened in Brockworth. We are so lucky to have this as our local as it truly is the best in the area- we love their Singapore chow mein, sweet and sour chicken chicken to name but a few. Very consistent quality. Thank you👏

I visited this local takeaway with my daughter and her partner. It was supposed to be a special treat, but was far from it! I ordered a pancake roll and shredded crispy chicken in sweet chilli sauce and yung chow fried rice, my daughter had prawn toast and kung po chicken, her partner had chicken satay, both shared boild rice and chips. Shredded chicken was in a barbecue type sauce which was too salty (not the sweet chilli it should be), yung chow fried rice appeared to have spam cubes in it, sauces in other 2 dishes was very watery and my daughter and her partner said their chicken was slimy. My daughter also bit into a whole green chilli in her meal! Only reason for the one star was the nice pancake roll!

We have been using this Chinese take away now for 10 years and have only had two unsatisfactory meals. Dishes are generously portioned, tasty and good quality. It is easy to order over the phone and collection time is quick and fairly accurate. Prices are in line with other Chinese takeaways but I think you get more for your money here.Would definately recommend trying them

3 of Us Ordered A Takeaway To Be Collected. They Were Fast & Efficient!!! This On A Friday Night Too!! All Our Meat Dishes Were Succulent, Lean & Just Melted In Your Mouth. One Of The Best Chinese Takeaways We Have Had In A Long Time And we Are Fussy, I can Assure You!! We Will Be Back For Sure 😋

I have just enjoyed a nice takeaway here. I had special fried chow mein and I ordered special curry and chips for my wife. Not a long wait. Decent price and nice tasting food. Cheers

We ordered food at half 6 for a 7.15 collection. We got there at 7.10 and waiting until 7.30 for the food to be ready. It was great food but wasn't impressed with the waiting as had other things to do and was on a time limit. Second time we have waited around for the food.

I have used this Chinese takeaway for 19 years now, great food and loads of choice. My favourite is the mixed meat omlette though, not very chinese lol.

Not too bad. Sometimes can be waiting quite a while and the staff need to cheer up.

Haven't had food from here in years due to moving away. Easily the best curry sauce in Gloucester. The portions and prices are actually great and good value for money! Ignore the other reviews, I've ate at Hing Tai for probably over 20 years and NEVER had a problem. Always quality food that tastes amazing!

Should you be the sort of person who rather likes the basic Chinese Curry and Egg Fried Rice from time to time THEN DO visit the Hing Tai Chinese Takeaway in Court Road, Brockworth. I have eaten Chinese curry for well over 40 years and theirs is head and shoulders above ALL the rest. £5.20 buys their Prawn Curry and Egg Fried Rice. Almost too many prawns, spot on (not too much) onion and the sauce is just Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! The fried rice looks and tastes completely unique - it has a Mediterranean sun tan and is basted in a really lush oil. They do a chicken one, mushroom, vegetable and probably beef. I shall go for the King Prawn next time and I expect it will be just too much based on the standard prawn! A lot of Chinese takeaways sell a Shrimp Curry - these are proper big, fresh prawns! UPDATE........25th February. Whilst their food is still LOVELY last night I ordered my usual Prawn Curry and Egg Fried only to be told the price had increased to £5.40. With the current inflation rate at pretty much ZERO --may I ask WHY they feel the need to add 4%? Suffice to say this sort of cavalier price structure means they have lost my twice a week custom. SHAME! I originally gave them 5 stars and if 6 had been available they would have had 6 but rampant profiteering means just 1 star in my opinion. If you can justify the price hike the food was GORGEOUS! 4 years on .... the food MAY be still tasty but have you seen the local authority Hygiene Rating - SCORES ON THE DOORS????!!! Avoid like the plague unless you take a medical support team with you. Makes me cross they are still able to operate!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Awful in every way. Small portions but that's a blessing in disguise as the food is very bland. Not cheap either.

i have just read a review i did a year ago. the portions are bigger and the wait reasonable for a sat tea time. well done lovely people. liked the special fried rice.

Not only have the standards changed lately ( back too the same we used too have, they hand delivered my partners wallet that he left behind.. AWESOME

Ordered Sweet and sour Chicken. The rice and sauce could not be faulted, how ever the Chicken balls were vile. The Batter did not taste right and the Chicken was a dry tiny cube. Would never order from this place again.

Order was ready when we picked it up and nice and hot. Food was pretty average on the whole but the chicken fried rice was very bland and would have benefited from a good dose of soy sauce. Chicken cashew was good with plenty of cashews.

I can't complain about the food as it is really nice and always hot on pick up. HOWEVER Last year I ordered a veggie spring roll and ended up with meat, Ok that's fine mistakes can be made. Tonight i order my usual, veggie chow main Singapore style. After a few mouthfuls I see a prawn which I removed. After fishing around (no pun intended) I find more prawns and pork. I'm allergic to prawns and can't eat meat due to health reasons. The point of my review check your meals properly, especially if you have dietary requirements. It's a shame as I enjoyed your food but I will never return!!

I forgot I had been here before as brockworths only Chinese takeaway and surprised we came again as had to wait a while to receive our small order and the portions are not a decent size. Off to Hucclecote next time!

Great food and service. Meat always appears good quality and never fatty etc. Always choose here when in the area

I do not say this lightly; this is the best Chinese in the UK. I've been enjoying Chinese food for many years and have never had anything as good as this! The sweet and sour sauce is what you dream it to be but have never found! It is not that horrible, bright coloured mess but a delicious balance of sweet and tartness. So good, you could drink it! Thank you to these chefs!!

Really great food. Throughly recommend this takeaway. The sweet and sour Cantonese was best ever had. Wontons fabulous too.

Food is always hot, fresh and tastes great. My favourite Chinese takeaway in all of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Good quality food but a bit pricey.

We love the hing tai, when it's shut, there is no where else as good. It's consistently good. The food great. Specially like the Singapore noodles and the spring rolls are the best.

My usual Chinese was shut for delivery, so I went to this one instead and I was not disappointed all the food was amazing!!! Good price and generous portions, I will be back!

Always good service, never had a bad meal. Well priced menu and good variety, at busy times collection can take a little longer but this is to be expected, I would always phone through the order before leaving.

No surprises here and basically you get what it said on the box. Can be frustrating when ringing through an order, going to collect at a designated time and still waiting 20 minutes but this is usually during busy periods
