A plain and simple little store but, after a long walk, I was looking for a light lunch and most places unsuitable or crowded. I ordered parsnip soup and it came with 2 chunks of lovely, real brown bread with butter on the side. Soup was very thick, just how I like it, and delicious. Not cheap but I don't mind paying for quality and service and this place provided both.

A great asset to Whitstable, which has striven to remain open during the two lockdowns so far. Full marks for being there for the community and for its general excellence. We will support you while you support us. Coffee is as good as anywhere else, and accompanying savouries and cakes are better. Other products look great, but haven’t tried for while, so can’t directly comment. One star off as today’s experience at around lunchtime (15 Nov) though: I popped my head just inside the door behind a family member who was ordering coffee (as every day), to try to see the selection of cakes behind that door. However, I inadvertently forgot to put my (COVID) mask on, which elicited an uncharacteristically ‘robust’ response from the serving staff member. Somewhat taken aback, I fumbled to locate and fit that mask, mumbling apologies as I did so. This was met with another unconciliatory ‘put your mask on before talking to me’ rebuttal. I accept my error and apologise again here (as I was cut short at the time), but I did feel very intimidated by the overbearing reprimand, to the point my desire for cake evaporated and I left chastened and empty-handed. I hope this unsavoury handling of my error was a one off, as I would hate to see other absent minded customers treated like this. If I return, I will not dare to do so unmasked, so perhaps the aim is to instil fear. I suspect not though, so the owners may wish to run a rule over this. Other than that, delightful place. Just don’t dare forget to mask up. You will regret it ;-)

We loved the sandwiches & coffee we went back the next day for breakfast bacon roll and coffee to takeaway onto the beach !! The sandwiches were fantastic freshly made, fully of flavour, and generous sizes. The local thick cut Ham with tangy cheese and a flavourism chutney on granary was the Saturday Special and it was awesome. The team within the Store are super friendly. Will definitely be heading back to No.33 Harbour St on my next Whitstable visit.

We are regular day trippers to Whitstable, we love to shop, and drink and eat in the independent places . We used to love the Whitstable Produce Store. The Baristas were so cheery and friendly, helpful and kind. But our recent visit made us feel so unhappy because of the rude girls serving. They looked and behaved like we were from outer space, rude and short. We left without ordering. Remember 'Beauty fades, dumb is forever', and learn some manners.

My long search for a decaffeinated coffee which tastes good has finally ended. I purchased pre-ground beans from the Whitstable Produce Store and they made for a brilliant cup from a percolator. We also enjoyed a coffee sitting outside in their sunny courtyard; the location was pleasant and the drinks were delicious. My partner had a roasted vegetable pastry which was reportedly very good. I’d certainly recommend coming here if you’re in Whitstable. The food and drink are high quality with efficient service.

For the life of me I don’t understand why people were flocking to the Costa down the street when there is this wonderful independent cafe! The cappuccinos we had were a great coffee blend topped with real grated chocolate, not powdered, and the doorstep sandwiches were freshly prepared and delicious (Brie/cranberry and tuna/cheese). £15 for both of us is less than you’d pay in Costa for a panini with barely any filling and a vat of their coffee. They also had a great selection of really fresh veg for sale. Definitely recommend this place.

A very pleasant and welcoming coffee shop that also sell produce from local suppliers around Kent. We had tea for two on our first visit, £2.50 which is a bargain. My only comment would be loose leaf tea is essential as is a tea pot that pours without spilling. I’d be happy to pay a little more to avoid the tea bag. The cakes were also very good and very reasonably priced.

I live locally and have been in a few times, to eat once and mainly to take away which has usually been ok. The produce is usually good. My daughter and I went in mid-morning last week for a snack and drink. There was a good choice at the usual Whitstable prices but it didn't live up to expectations. I opted for the chicken, tomato and avocado sandwich and my daughter went for egg mayonnaise. One arrived, the other didn't and after a wait of a further 12mins I went to ask where it was, only to be left standing like a ninny at the counter and ignored by the three people behind it. They could clearly see me, and another lady also waiting, but were focused on doing drinks or looking at their bits of paper and it was only when I spoke up to them did one huff and ask what I wanted! Eventually the sandwich came, with no apology for the wait, and it was a dry as a bone! Two pieces of sliced tomato, three chunks of avocado and dry chicken made it quite difficult to eat and it wasn't enjoyable at all. The egg mayonnaise one was scant to say the least - barely a scraping of egg mayo. We did eat them because we were hungry. Before we left I went to the loo. Oh dear! Sorry to say but this really needs attention to detail - the loo itself was dirty, with hairs and stains at the back and obviously hadn't been cleaned for a while! I've never felt the need to photograph a loo before but this was a must as it just isn't acceptable where the public are using the toilet and had I not already eaten, we would have left. I didn't bother to mention this to the staff given the earlier experience at the counter. This is a shame as the place itself is lovely but I don't think I will bother to go again because for the price it wasn't very good at all and there are other places in town that do a better sandwich than those two offerings.

The Whitstable Produce Store name is a bit of a misnomer - it's priarily a small cafe that also sells some local produce. there's one small table outsdie, and you ordert at the couynter inside (that can also sell uncooked food to go). Behind there's a cosy room with a number of tables, and beyond that a small garden with tables and chairs. So a bit like the Tardis it's bigger than it appears at first sight. An Americano coffee was very good; a slice of orange cake was nice, but ever so slightly heavy. However it was fairly priced and I'd certainly go back again of looking for coffee and cake in the town. (A baker further up the street had rudely told me they were closed after I had waited patiently at at the counter for 5 minutes).

A very good Flat White but one or two days we got the wrong milk (ie hot milk with Americano) and nothng worse than solid butter served with scones or toasted tea cake (whch was cold when it reached us on a quiet morning). Relaxing pleasant atmosphere and nice garden but I know what other reviewers mean with the service and the toilet area was a little offputting - as was the toilet which wouldn't fill up for fifteen minutes. The cakes look wonderful and cheese scones are recommended. I did visit this coffee shop more than others in the town so must have liked it but it was very hit and miss for service. The girls are lovely but chatted a lot and didn't listen to what we ordered often. Give it a try though-it's bigger than it looks from the outside!

Visited Whitstable Produce at the Horsbridge yesterday lunchtime with my one year old grandson who needed a high chair. There was one but it was filthy and I spent the next 10 minutes and half packet of wipes cleaning it whilst 3 young girls behind the counter chatted to one and other. I ordered tea and toast and some fruit for me and that was quite nice except the bread was cut 1 inch thick so difficult to eat and really unnecessary. Once customers had finished eating and left the tables were cleared but never cleaned, I had to clean my table with wipes!! There is a toy area but it is so dirty I couldn't allow my grandson to play. Food looks great but it's really dirty and I dread to think what it's like in the kitchen!!!

My friend and I had somehow lost our teenage kids in town somewhere and we got fed up of looking for them. So we installed ourselves outside on the bistrot chairs where we had a good view down the High Street and chilled out. I took a fancy to the thick chocolate milk shakes so had one made up for me as we waited. It was delicious. I tried supping it slowly and lo and behold the kids appeared out of nowhere. Of course they also wanted their own milk shakes and suddenly the store was doing a roaring trade. My attempts to get a discount for all the free advertising we were providing sitting outside on the pavement but the ladies behind the counter just giggled and my idea fell on suitably deaf ears. Pity. But really, this is a lovely little treasure trove with loads of local produce. And I am happy to confirm here that they make outstanding milk shakes!

This is is a micro farmers market and often overlooked in the heart of Whitstable. It sells some interesting and unique local produce (just like the Bridge farm (Archers) farm shop. More uniquely the team room (in the back) is amazing) - it is straight out of bridge farm (odd tables and all) which contribute to the atmosphere. But the teas / coffees and home made produce are amazing and all taste first class. This is a real Whitstable gem.

We just stopped for coffee but the cakes on offer looked delicious. We decided to sit in the pebble garden at the rear of the shop. Which looks really pretty but after sitting there for 5 minutes you realise it's not quite as charming as first impressions. Maybe because of all pebbles the rubbish is difficult to pick up. But there was quite a lot of sugar wrappers and general small litter on the ground. There was an empty table that needed clearing and it stayed like that the whole 20 minutes we sat there. It wouldn't stop me returning but I think it's something that needs to be addressed.
