Always enjoyed visiting this place been many times with friends in the past . Can only think it’s changed hands after this experience.! None of the staff looked familiar . 1. Ordered food which didn’t arrive until we reminded them , we had been missed. Was offered complimentary coffee. 2. Ordered cake and the coffee , mix up over the cakes as one was a take away , cream missed off the scones , this was rectified. Actually none of this was a problem for the 3 of us until a very rude member of staff appeared at our table and accused us of laughing at the young lady who had taken the order, telling us that she was new and we were rude. We were shocked! No way had we been laughing at anyone apart from ourselves and our conversations . On leaving I tried to express this this to a member of staff and was immediately shot down by the same rude person as before . She then escorted us to the door as it was shut and said in no uncertain terms ‘ I’ll let you out as we close at 2pm ! This was approx 2.30pm. She went on to say in a very sarcastic voice . ‘Enjoy the rest of your day’. We entered the place at around 1.30 and no one informed us they were to close in half an hour . There website says open until 3.30pm Obviously have no intention of ever using Whites again . I can only think it’s under new and very rude management .

vegetable satay vegan main very good. served with a couple of slices of soft homemade bread that is good enough to be sold as loaves. supermarket bread is full of additives so wd be nice to be able to get decent bread somewhere. fritata with salad was apparently also very good. generous portion of vegan biscoff chocolate cake. cd maybe do with a little less sponge or more 'butter' cream to make it more moist but not a bad effort. drinks are a little basic - cans of coke etc - but quite functional. suggest the cafe revamps its facebook page so people can see the latest menu and opening times. garden at the back is very pleasant with a colony of chirping sparrows occupying a large bush in one corner

Warm welcome and excellent food has made us into regulars at lunchtime. Fresh baked and excellent value vegetarian food. Glad to say that the inside cafe is restricted to humans too . Not everyone wants canine company whilst they are eating. Highly recommended.

AVOID … if you are expect to be made welcome with your dog. Was pointed to the back yard space outside, passing empty tables on the way. The staff on duty really did EXPECT CUSTOMERS with a dog to SIT OUTSIDE IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES 🥶 not any reasonable persons expectation of customer care - defo not mine/ours. Mumbling utterances by from the staff on duty just added to this lack of northern hospitality. NOT what i’m used to from my HOME town SHAME ON YOU WHITES BAKEHOUSE

Having visited Whites many times before I had no reason to believe opening hours had changed. We know we must have entered Whites just after 13.27 hours as we had purchased a parking ticket. We ordered soup and a grilled sandwich. To follow scones and coffee. Payment accepted upfront for all foods. We sat down and our soup and sandwiches were served. It was agreed scones and coffee would follow. The waitress approached just before 2 p.m. and asked if she could serve our coffee now as the machine was about to go off. We were a little perplexed and asked what time the cafe was closing as customers were leaving and we were the only customers left. We were advised 2 p.m. and we hadn’t even started our scones. We had no choice but to ask for the scones to be boxed up. The waitress boxed the scones and didn’t advise us to take our time and enjoy them in the cafe. Our coffee was still half filled in our cups and the waitress asked if she could clear our table. I said yes and said she could take the plates away including the coffee. Clearly no time to drink it peacefully. A complete waste of money. We were NOT advised the cafe was closing at 2 p.m. when we entered at 1.30 p.m. Perhaps the waitress loves her job so much she is oblivious to time and doesn’t even think about the end of her shift! However, she needs to be as she has customers to look after. The soup and sandwich were nice but nothing special. I like to support vegan and vegetarian establishments but more recently we have found the food - service both hit and miss and this latest experience concludes it was our last visit to Whites.

For some reason google maps sent us to the old town so an elongated walk to the correct location. Looked nice but the “dog friendly” is not strictly true as we were not allowed to stay unless we sat in the unheated garden area. It was my sisters 60th birthday treat and she is not in great health so logged this as a very poor and un hospitality esq experience. If you’re not of great health and have a dog then definitely eat elsewhere. There was bags of room so with the weather -1 degrees perhaps a tad sad not to be looked after. Muttering staff as you left suggest customers are not of value

When we meet for lunch with friends White Bakehouse is the always the first choice, with even the meat eaters (like my husband) being blown away by the flavourful options. With this quality and variety of vegetarian and vegan food being possible there is no excuse for other restaurants/pubs to only have the standard 1 or 2 vegetarian options available. Make sure you leave room for the amazing deserts!!!!

My wife and I had already visited here in the past and were always really impressed. Decided to visit here for lunch on arrival in Bridlington where we are staying for a week.I had the mushroom and tarragon roll and my wife had the beetroot and feta tart along with a cappuccino each. The lunch meals were delicious and we both really enjoyed. We also had a dessert each which we took away with us. I had the marble and mocha cake and my wife had the chocolate and banana cake. The service was okay but took a little time to get served at the till as it felt like the staff's attentiveness wasn't quite there but overall didn't mind too much as not in a rush. The setting inside was nice and we would definitely call in again and of course recommend it. Loved it and great start to our Brid trip!

I chanced upon this fabulous cafe when exploring the local area with my 6 year old. Bridlington has some lovely historical attributes and is well worth visiting for these. Some of it is run down though so I was despairing of finding somewhere nice to eat. However this place is better than nice - it is fabulous and was by far the best place we ate at in the whole of our tour of the North East Coast and the lake district - and we visited numerous award-winning eateries. The inside and outside seating areas have been thoughtfully and beautifully set out, with natural woods and lots of plants. The food itself is amazing - lots of interesting dishes, all homemade and beautifully presented by someone who clearly has a huge talent for creative cooking. Absolutely made our holiday. If this place was in York or Norwich it would be booked up months in advance and with a queue outside. I had a delicious lunch of spinach, mushroom and vegan cheese bagel, with a lavender scone and cream for pudding. It was fantastic. Well done to whoever is the brains and chef because your food is to die for. Ps your staff are great too, and shared helpful insights about Bridlington.

What a little gem this is, away from the hustle & bustle of the sea front. We are not vegetarian but it looked nice from the outside and we were not disappointed. All of the food looked delicious, but we were just having elevenses so we had very smooth lattes with warm apple and rhubarb crumble and chocolate brownie. The cakes came in very generous portions for £2.50 and there was also a small flapjack each on the side of our drinks. We will definitely return.

This really was a nice place. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food choices (vegetarian and vegan) looked varied and nice. My partner and I both ordered scrambled egg on toast and coffee for breakfast. The egg had been microwaved so that it was just a dry yellow crumb and no longer pleasant to eat. So neither of us did eat more than a mouthful, however the toast (home made I think) was lovely, so it could have been worse. The coffee was OK, not great but not bad either. I did NOT complain at the time because they gave us what we ordered. It's a matter of taste isn't it? Nevertheless I can have an opinion and I have definitely eaten much nicer scrambled egg (cooked in a pan?) elsewhere. If you really must microwave it (for speed?), please do it gently and oh so briefly. Please don't let this review put you off, dear reader, it's meant to be constructive criticism for the owners. Remember, it is only one dish too. All the best.

We visited Whites on a sunny lunch time. Having a dog meant we had to sit in the garden which is a little Oasis. It’s so calm and relaxing. If it wasn’t for the cry of the gulls you wouldn’t believe you were a short walk from the beach and bustle of the town centre. Food was good, especially the Victoria sponge and berry frangipan. The menu is a nice change from the usual fish n chips, tending to be meat free. Service was friendly and efficient. This is a lovely cafe with a nice vibe. I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter as she did not want to make this review but it needs to be written. We went here on the word of mouth of others that the food and service was amazing, couldn't have been more wrong. We ordered a banana and chocolate cake and the cake had far too much banana in it. For a tea, coffee and a slice of cake, over £7, disgusting. My daughter ordered a cake, an orange juice (the smallest glass ever) and a stew. Which came to well over ten pounds. We ordered at twenty past 2, bareing in mind it wasnt busy and we were the only ones in, they FORGOT my daughter's meal. She was served it at nearly 3pm. It wasn't a stew, just spicy vegtables and rice, weirdest stew I'd ever seen. Now the establishment were kind enough to give my daughter her money back and rightly so, it was inedible. Apprantly it was their last one. Also by the time we got the meal it was closing time, my daughter promptly took one more mouthful and we left. Never again. I know you are a small buisness and need to make money but ripping people off with bog standard food and forgetting your customers is not the way to go about things.

This place offers a good selection of meals and snacks which together with excellent leaf tea and coffee and a wide choice of cakes and savories mean that you are never stuck for something different to eat each time you visit,

I have eaten at this cafe since it was the Little Organic Bakery - and was always made to feel very welcome.

Have wanted to try this place out since I heard they were taking over the premises formally occupied by the little organic bakery. Unfortunately was really disappointed with the vegan food on offer. Ordered the bean burgers which were tasteless without the chilli jam to add some flavour. They burgers came with some salad leaves which were dry and tasteless and also some 'dryslaw' which was coleslaw without Mayo but not nice at all and some coloured beetroot rice. All very dry and hard to chomp through. I used to love the side salads at little organic and their dressings were lush.

Our visit to Bridlington wouldn't be complete without popping back into this super veggie cafe/restaurant. Last time we came we saw that there was extra eating room at the back so we ventured in the back room and noticed that there was an outside eating area too (too cold in January though....) We had a sandwich each and a lovely coffee and really enjoyed the food once more :)

This is the our first visit since it was The Organic Bakery. We found the lady serving rather unfriendly and unengaging, maybe just a bad day,but rather spoiled our experience. But the food was delicious and lots of choice, and lovely coffee.

....And the best veggie sausage sandwich ever! A pleasant surprise when visiting here earlier in the week .... the former Rowan Tree owners are here! A fantastic menu, great cakes and a good selection of teas and coffees. My family, friends and I will no longer have to think about where we are going for lunch/coffee in Brid - it will always be here!

Visited with my two young children wanting a healthy cafe lunch and wow the homemade food is amazing and the cafe is really big with a large room at the back. Very child friendly with lovely options for children. 5 star and gorgeous coffee too. I'll be back!!

1st Visit as we were told of this new bakery/cafe open in Bridlington. As a senior barista myself the Latte was superb, although there were no syrup options available. The cakes looked devine, and the biscuit we had was lovely and buttery. And the list of food on the menu was mouth watering. The only thing I would say would be that I think for somewhere as up market as this bakery/cafe they should have table service and menus. But apart from that the cafe is a fantastic asset and thank god to an up market coffee shop with decent coffee!!! Highly recommend.

1st visit since taken over, excellent home made bread and cakes and dishes to suit mainly veggy diners but anyone can have the lovely cakes ! scones are the best we've had with cream and jam. no cheap ingredients here. A niche little place and we wish them well, always send our hotel guests there when they ask where to eat.

At White's Bakehouse you'll find fresh, wholesome, homemade vegetarian and vegan cakes, breads, pastries, soups and main meals. The owners try to source organic produce where possible and serve delicious coffee, tea and soft drinks too. The decor is stylish, bright and clean - there's also a lovely outside space for long summer lunches. It's child friendly with baby changing facilities and high chairs on hand. The food is delicious - fresh, seasonal and flavoursome. Give it a try - you'll not be disappointed!

A gem of a cafe, lovely staff, quality food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even making up a takeaway salad box and a sandwich to be collected later. Plus the cafe is dog friendly....

We visited over Easter and loved all the little chocolate eggs hidden around the cafe - kept the kids entertained whilst they waited for their food! Lovely cafe with a great menu. We ordered a range of different food but loved the halloumi burger and cheeseburger especially. It’s great that dogs are allowed in this cafe but as we don’t own a dog, even better that there are two areas - one for dogs and one where dogs aren’t allowed. Service was quick and with a smile, reasonably priced too for restaurant quality food. The only improvement needed is the toilet area - could do with a update!

Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.
