Best roast around, friendly service and proper home cooked food, quantity and quality really good - highly recommended

They have opened the old restaurant at the back, The Cygnet. We called in yesterday, 6 of us, all chose something different from gammon, egg and chips, sausage and mash, and sandwiches with salad. It took 30 mins for our food to arrive, and we could see why as it was all fresh and superb quality. This was not microwaved pub grub, good quality and quantity, great service and good value for money. We will be going back and would recommend.

Having heard good things about the new tea room, opened in the old function room, we decided to give it a try. The room has been nicely done up so was welcoming and the person who served us was very friendly. My friend and I had had a bit of a misunderstanding so I only wanted cake and he wanted a full lunch. I had a very lovely slice of lemon drizzle that was fresh and generous In portion size. My friend had a ham sandwich that came with a side salad, coleslaw and tortilla chips - it was a plateful! My only adverse comment was that the tea was served with the teabag in the cup. I would have preferred a teapot but, in any event, would have liked a dish for the teabag rather than use the saucer. I would still highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Called in without a booking and we were really well looked after, we both had starters main and sweet and enjoyed every mouthful, really good value for money and will eat here again, Pub grub at its best thank you Paul & Sharon

We tried this pub on the off chance, food and service was very good. Very large portions. We were made to feel very welcome. Would recommend

Just had a takeaway roast dinner from my local pub and it was excellent - Mothers Day sorted and a great lunch in a box, fresh, hot and great value for money - pretty impressive! One beef and one lamb meal dropped off at a safe distance for the in-laws and 4 dinners for us, 3 Beef and 1 Gammon, all with the trimmings. Please try and support your local pubs, shops etc during this crazy time we are in!

Called in on way home last Saturday to find they had a kids film night on, very unusual on a Saturday night! Small children sat at the front playing with games provided by the pub waiting for Peter Rabbit to begin. Adults stood at the back enjoying a drink, perfect! When the film started was impressed when sweets and popcorn were bought out for the kids, along with jugs of squash so nasty fizzy drinks for small ones! Apparently doing this once a month so great idea for families who normally struggle to find suitable entertainment on a Saturday night! Will be borrowing our grandchildren for October!!

Went for Sunday lunch with my wife and daughter, father in law, and brother in law. Service was friendly, not rushed, food was good; nothing exceptional but a decent Sunday roast, nonetheless. Went to the bar to pay the bill and said I had a Meerkat 2 for 1 membership - only to be told they don't accept that, that we hadn't mentioned that when we phoned to book, and that they (the staff) had told Meerkat to remove them from the Meerkat Meals website. I said there was no requirement to mention Meerkat when booking; that only applies to Tastecard bookings. The lady behind the bar said "well, that what I was told, so ...". I said that was incorrect, I'd used Meerkat Meals plenty of times elsewhere. She just shrugged and said "like I said, I've asked them to remove us from the website. I shall ask them again" and turned side on. The conversation was clearly over. I understand that, as a business, they had asked to be removed from the site - but as a customer, how am I expected to know that ? I would've been reasonably happy with an apology and an offer of perhaps £10 off the bill, in recognition of the inconvenience and embarrassment, but the dismissive attitude was hard to swallow. Sorry, we'd travelled up from Southend to this place but it wasn't that bl**dy fantastic that it was worth it without the discount. We would've booked somewhere else had we known.

We had a perfectly good meal here - nothing fancy, nothing special. The beer was very good and well kept, a tasty pint of Wherry. The food was very good value though could have been hotter. Really good Steak and Kidney. Service was friendly and helpful.

Been a while since passing through and saw the sign for breakfasts at weekends 10am to noon. Went back today with the family, very good! 5 adults and 2 grandchildren. Menu ranged from proper full english and no problem for just beans and toast for the kids. Proper butchers sausage. Good thick cut bacon, eggs perfect plus all the other trimmings you would expert. The good smattering of locals suggests this is going down well. Will definitely be going back!

Met with friends and lunchtime food was good and served with a sense of humour. Good experience. Will return.

From reading the other reviews, it seems we may have caught them on a bad day, but the staff were so rude, it was a horrid experience overall. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel unwelcome, staff made a fuss having to move a table for our group of six. We asked for a coffee latte and were literally laughed at, they 'don't do that here', really disappointing customer service. The woman behind the bar was so unpleasant we decided just to have drinks and leave without food. Awful service.

We wanted to see a live band and so phoned the White Swan to check they were playing. Unfortunately, the band were told that the pub couldn't pay them so they packed up and went home. No apologies from the staff or explanation. Won't bother going again, totally wasted evening.

No se propala y adorna admitió, pero es un buen pub antiguo pueblo. Buena selección de cervezas de botella de cerveza. Menú limitado a simple comida de pub, pero lo servían bastante rápidamente con una sonrisa! Personal amable, y los habitantes de bar que pronto se entablar una conversación. Como pubs!

Fantastic staff, great food and brilliant environment. Staff are friendly and welcoming and we always enjoy our time here. My partner and I are regulars and enjoy this pub as our local!

Pub muito bom, na província de Essex. À primeira vista, parece pequeno, mas o interior é amplo, aconchegante e muito confortável. O assado de domingo é delicioso. Para quem gosta, tem a possibilidade de jogar nas máquinas caça níqueis, além do tradicional jogo de dardos ao estilo inglês. Regularmente, acontecem competições, segundo informações dos frequentadores locais.

le han dedicado en la historia con sus casas wonky, los dueños de las tiendas venden sus mercancías estrafalarios ... El cisne blanco pub anfitriones bodas y fines de semana románticos. Un lugar tan hermoso. La razón principal por la que volver una y otra vez es el té de la tarde junto al abrir fuego, real antiguo tradicional té de la tarde. El bar!!!! No te olvides del bar!! Está alineada con notas manuscritas todas las paredes pasando por las guerras, aviador de destacar sus nombres, parada y pequeñas notas personales. Literalmente estás sentado en el pub donde la historia demasiado lugar.

Tatty interior harking back to the 70s, poor food & miserable manager - Got charged £1 for a glass of tapwater ! Pleasant bar staff & good music quiz on Thursdays are the only redeeming features of this place.......

Estábamos de paso y queríamos algo para comer. El White Swan es un pequeño pub del país, pero la comida era increíble y a un precio muy razonable. Los anfitriones eran muy acogedores. Sin duda regresaremos allí.
