£5.50 for Guinness Extra Cold and a lovely ambience

We came here to play tunes at the Monday evening session. The pub staff and the regular musicians were very friendly and welcoming. They played a mixture of Irish and Scottish tunes. We had a lovely evening.

In the 90s it was a Friday pre clubbing bar and a Sunday end of weekend hang out for the cambridge party scene but having visited recently it just comes across as a tatty old haunt now but if you like pack food and tables so used there's no varnish left on them then this is definitely the place for you.

Fantastic pub, thoroughly enjoyed a few drinks. The beer garden was nice and relaxed. I would definitely recommend a few drinks in there.

This pub is very friendly. It has a great vibe about it. If you like sport this is the place to watch it.

First time going to the White Swan and it exceeded my expectations. Lovely atmosphere with friendly locals and staff, especially Ross whose service I found exceptional. Fully recommend and would 100% come back again!

They are open untill 1 am which is not common in Cambridge.

The Green King IPA was a poor pint

The most awful experience I ever had, never seen this type of service I own a couple of pubs, and never have I ever tried to fight my customers which the owner of this pub did !!! Awful !!!

Lights in the back go out a little fast: always need some on post to keep them on!

Absolutely awful experience, didn't even get round to ordering the food for the evening as the service at the bar was absolutely shocking. Rude member of staff, no people skills, walked out before placing order.

Came here on a rainy day on a Friday. Walkable distance between train station and center of the city. Stopped by here as the first of many spots while exploring during a day out and it was not too busy. We got our drinks quickly and were able to find a large group table near the back. Lots of spaces connected that help to take it not feel overhelmingly loud, crowded, etc. the back area is proabably amazing in better weather.

Have been here twice now; it’s nice and chilled with good selection from of drinks. We had some beer this evening and watched football as there is plenty screens to watch football/snooker/rugby etc, there is also smoking area in back of the bar, and it was not too busy today so had enough places for sitting. Nice bar staff.

Be Me: enter thy swan and me friend be drinking in thy bar where they be drinking. The pint be place before them and a man soiled his loincloth. This was unappealing and caused me to use my Bluetooth

Bartender was horrible and rude. Tried to engage in conversation and got barely a grunt in return. You’re only getting good service if you’re a regular, do not come here.

The staff are so rude !! The worst part of my experience was the amount of times I was Asked if I could get any cocaine (3 times by 3 different people ) in this pub and it really does seem like it’s tolerated it’s so obvious younger crowds and older crowds are doing it basically Infrount off staff so I think there is possibly there is Maybe some collusion with the owner or manager. Which should be looked into this is far from a family friendly pub so keep Your children AWAY !!! Just seems funny that this place is totally fine for people to use drugs in the toliet Infrount of other members of the Public and customers . NOT A for people who are not locals !! as staff seem to act funny when you don’t normally or regularly go in there . Rude arrogant staff Only thing I did enjoy was the food or drinks ☹️

Saturday morning visit 26 November 2023 for coffee - 2 cappuccinos @ £3.50 What was served - Barely had any coffee taste at all and very much like an instant out-of-the-jar dirt cheap brand! No brown sugar! No chocolate! Simply couldn't drink it and...not having any expectation that the rude Irishman behind the bar would be at all receptive to any words on the matter (in much the same manner as our requests for brown sugar and chocolate were received), we simply returned the barely touched 'coffees' to the bar with a passing comment on how terrible it was as we walked out. The barmen was quick to reply "you're terrible". Needless to say, we will certainly NOT be returning.

Great atmosphere but a little disappointing when they have said they are doing food from 6, you have been there since 4.30 and come 6pm.they decide they are not going to do food. Group of us now sadly going to have to continue our evening elsewhere.

Super clean throughout (the toilets were spotless), lovely food, really dog friendly, polite and efficient staff, and friendly regulars too. We couldn't fault it! I had a pizza which was really good, and my boyfriend had a burger, which he said he enjoyed a lot (and he's quite fussy!) We didn't use the beer garden, but it looked great. The kind of place I can imagine it would be easy to sit for hours in!

It’s really a shame to be writing this as I had a friend down from Bristol and I wanted to show him some good guiness and and proper pub, We were having a lovely night and had a few pints of guiness and a couple games of darts, me and my mate went to the toilet for a wee together and got accused of doing drugs, my friend is a police officer but didn’t bother saying. so rude about the whole situation and got a very homophobic feeling from the owner ( that’s not me being a snowflake either) As I said it’s a huge shame because I loved coming here for the guiness and a good chat but I will no longer be coming back due to the rude owner and truly poor attitude, there’s a way going about things and he just didn’t care ( also telling my friend to leave the pub. ) the pub we’ve spent so much money in and had a lovely time in. I will stop telling my clients to come here and will definitely will not be returning, it was true what they said about the owner being a prick

Nice pub was a good atmosphere with music playing. Range of seating places. Friendly staff. Average range of beers. Is a big bike rack out front to lock your bike which is very useful.

Very crowded. No swans inside. Fruties are good, paid my paints for the night. Good Pravha, Estrella is a bit flat lately.

Recently renovated and all the better for it. A very good sports bar with a decent paved beer garden in the back. Reasonable selection of beers, although they can be a bit hit or miss. Docked at least one star as the don't accept card payments for less than £10. Utterly bewildering decision in this day and age and especially after a refurbishment and relaunch. Get your act together, White Swan. Every time your staff recommend I go across the street to get cash I just end up going somewhere else.

It is the only place where I went to watch football, have dinner and drinks at all time of my staying in Cambridge.

For Cambridge this is a pub a builder would recognise. Not many places this end of town to watch the football.

Well I think this might be the most affordable and tastiest pub in Cambridge. Atmosphere was lovely £5.50 for jacket with cheese and beans.

Good food. Lovely Landlord 😍 but he gets caught up in his little ‘bubble’ of people which leaves him ignoring those that come in by themselves….. I wouldn’t have minded being included rather than left to the side! Max the resident black Labrador is Very welcoming 😍 I walk past here Daily, it’s not often I feel Welcome or Drawn in.

Good pub for watching sport, plenty of tv’s and you can hear the commentary (many pubs don’t care about that). Bad review however as they advertise on the website that they serve food and are a sports bar. They had specials on boards inside the pub so we decided to stay and watch the rugby there. I went to order food at 4:15 and they said that the kitchen was not open till 5. Odd but ok, I said I would wait. Came back up at 5 to then be told it wasn’t open till after the game which would be around 6:30. Something told me this wasn’t right so I asked somebody else soon after who then said it would likely be 30-40 mins after the game and that don’t try to bring food in cause it’s now allowed. We actually googled this place before arriving in Cambridge. Was a really disappointing outcome. Won’t be going back. It’s the crowd you are with that makes a good day out so we can have that elsewhere.

Cosy pub. comfortable spaces, quiet on the day the family and I visited, but we've visited before so no issues going again, good was excellent as usual

Love coming here to watch the sports and get a good pint of Guinness. Bar staff always very friendly and accommodating with a good sense of humour. The food specials are nice home cooked food but you can also get normal pub fare on the extensive menu

A few weeks ago - 14-August - I went with a group of friends to this so-called plastic Paddy Irish bar to watch a football match. The Galway barman Denis was rude and insulting. My Liverpool friend politely asked that he increase the volume - a reasonable request - in reply Denis rudely threatened to bar him - using the racist term Scouser - what a bizarre reaction. I work in the Irish diplomatic service and I was disgusted by this person's attitude. Sadly cead mile faiite is distinctly absent from this mans vocabulary. Needless to say we shall not return. Polite suggestion for Denis - return home to Rossaveel and learn the meaning of Irish hospitality.
