Clean, quick service and good seating. Even though busy. Seating upstairs as well but lift currently out of action.

Very helpful, quick service, happy smiling staff and customers. Excellent coffee, always got my orders correct. Seen reviews saying about loos. Any time I've been in and they've had an issue with loos, there's been a big notice on the entrance door, another on the loo and it's been cordoned off. Tables etc clean, sometimes when it's rammed it may take a few minutes but they clean up well

One slice of bacon in the bacon roll. The coffee was atrocious. Asked for a latte. It came out like a cappuccino with scolding hot milk. At least the Costa machines are consistent. Problem is none of the staff care enough to serve good coffee every time.

The lad who was working the till yesterday afternoon (tall, wide, blonde) was fantastic-amazing customer service-made good coffee as well. Just a shame that they don’t do military discount in this specific Costa

Absolutely dreadful the lack of cleanliness, dirty tables, there's one toilet operating and a queue of 8-9 people in front of it, no baby changing facilities and toilet looks disgusting

Quite narrow between counter and wall space, making it feel very crowded as we sat at the table nearest the ordering stage. The downstairs area could use a revamp, however the upstairs area was quiet and well layed out. Bathroom door doesn't lock properly, so as a disabled person, was difficult to lock the higher lock. My Hot Chocolate and Pecan Bar were both excellent. I was promised that someone would bring my order to my table (again, to help ease my disability) but not every employee heard it; a kind gentleman helped me carry my tray to my table as he saw me struggling. Overall, a nice place, and I don't expect extra help, but when it is offered it should be followed through.

despite the nice service, and the late coffee tastes like water after washing a coffee mug, there is no taste of coffee, no taste of milk, I can smell the water most intensely, I perfectly understand that I don't look like a local because I have a foreign accent, but I assure you that I live in Cambridge since 10 years

The environment is decent and beautiful. I drank an americano. The intensity of the coffee was very low, it had a mild taste, I didn't like it very much.

I regularly visit the Costa on Market Square in Cambridge and usually the staff are super polite and friendly however the young girl on the till called Lauren could really do with some lessons in customer service and people skills. No ‘hello’ when I got to the till simply a very abrupt ‘eat in or takeaway’, she didn’t as much as crack a smile - unbelievably rude. Then rather than handing me my food she chucked the bag across the counter at me. I understand this time of year is difficult and busy in hospitality and food, but a smile goes a long way. I hope this review is passed onto the relevant team and actioned appropriately. The barista Roxy however is friendly as always.

Staff was always friendly at every Costas I visited, and cappuccino was very good. Too bad that they are not in the US.

Very unorganised and clearly not enough staff as the lady went off while half way through taking our order. Then over charged me so I had to wait around to be able to get a refund which was then taken from the tip jar instead as they couldn’t refund it back to my card. There is also lots of people sitting in the seating area who haven’t even ordered from Costa. Very bad experience!!

The staff here are in need of training. They were distracted, unable to cope and took our simple order completely wrong. On top were rude.

Popped in for a cappuccino coffee and also purchased a travel mug, I enjoyed my coffee and the staff are friendly and welcoming, i will be returning

Toilets absolutely disgusting, brown stuff everywhere and it looked like it had been like that a while too

Its a very nice and comfortable place. However they don't have wifi nor student discount and the coffee is expensive. Would recommend the caffe Nero next door for working or studying (cheaper, has student discount and has wifi).

Lovely selection of drinks and cakes etc

This was not a large outlet, but there was extra seating upstairs and a small lift to take you up. The entrance was a little narrow and I think a wheelchair user would struggle to get into the place. We went in around 11am and there were very few sandwiches and toasties available. The toilets were pretty clean but one of the 3 was closed. The service was fairly prompt and polite. Overall not bad .

Yet again, this branch failed to give me the bonus stamp for having a reusable cup - a trivial point, but the 'other' brand of coffee shop can manage it.

Offer very limited range for both gluten free, lactose free options. Could be better choices for those with multiple food allergies. Drinks are great as they can offer a cup of tea with Soya milk. Staff are friendly helpful.

Lovely friendly staff, a really pleasant experience

Thoroughly enjoyed my toastie and mango cooler. Definitely recommend coming in before 9am - it is quiet and clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Will definitely be coming back for breakfast.

Possibly the worst of your cafés we've visited (and there have been quite a few) Toilet facilities woefully inadequate - with two of the three out-of-order. Wifi not working. Cakes rather dry. But at least the staff were friendly and the coffee was up to scratch.

We walked in to get a takeaway coffee but The staff ( lady member ) was soo rude as we walked in ,shes was just soo racist, ive never come across anyone that was racist as her in my life , the just because my wife and mother-in-law had head scarfs on they they just made an excuse saying you cannot sit in or use the tiolet is not working , there were 2 people sitting inside and having coffees. we wasnt even planing to use the tiolet or even sit down, Very disappointed wouldnt recommend anyone to go in there 👎👎👎

Great location in the heart of Cambridge. Good selection of sandwiches, wraps and sweet treats. Nice spot to take the weight off after visiting the city. I liked it. 😊

Nice Costa. The girl serving was funny and the cooler I ordered was very nice. The food was good as well, there wasn’t a long queue and I didn’t notice anything untidy or not clean.

Busy coffee shop in the heart of Cambridge. Staff worked quickly and efficiently under pressure. The same good quality drinks from Costa as you would expect.

There are a number of coffee shops in the Grand Arcade. I went to the Costa Coffee as I was close by and wanted some refreshments. I have had mixed experiences as Costa Coffee shops but I am happy to say that the store in the Grand Arcade provided good service. The young lady who served me was pleasant and helpful and the tables were clean and tidy. Recommended after a break from shopping!

Great upstairs seating area that overlooks the market

Very difficult to rate as we were not allowed in with our small dog, unlike Nero’s who let dogs in. As with most Costa’s now it looks very tired in need of a refurbishment.

Regular Costa offering, but we picked the busiest moment of the day! Very efficient order taking / handling and amazing multi-tasking by the barista to deal with the onslaught!

Very good seating space upstairs. Coffee is good. Good variety of cakes and sandwiches. The only issue is that they never seem to have filtered coffee, and ask me to buy Americano instead !!!

Staff are very friendly, fast and efficient, and just all round great at their job! It was very busy, but they still managed to make me a fantastic hot chocolate! Lots of seating, very welcoming and nice to be in. I will definitely be going back!

Oh dear! We arrived to a typical queue, ansd selected sandwiches from the fridge, then ordered our drinks. A girl then heated the sandwiches at our request, then dropped the contents of one on the floor - the sausage in a sausage sandwich. She then gave us the sandwiches on plates. I explained that she had dropped the contents on the floor. She looked me up and down then said in a barking tone, 'I expect you want a new one then!'. She stamped over to the fridge and got a new one, heated it and gave it to us. No apology! This is not the service we expect from Costa. Look! Now she is chatting with her friends instead of clearing the tables!

A popular coffee shop on Graduation 🎓 day was never going to be a good place for a quiet cup of coffee. The staff are to be commended for their efficient service. What Costa lacks in originality it makes up for with consistency: you know what you'll get.

Friendly staff, two floors with seating, with the upstairs having less seating but more room between tables. Standard costa drink experience, when it comes to menu and food, if you like Costa, it'll do the job!

Had a cherry bakewell, packet of crisps which sponsor the RNLI and an apple juice. Very well air conditioned.

Sadly daughter had her phone stolen by an aggressive man posing as a beggar whilst we were here. Staff were very unhelpful afterwards.

Staff are very unprofessional and rather chit chat between themselves therefore proper training should be provided to staff. The coffee area is messy and needs a good clean, along with the high traffic areas such as floors as bins. Don't recommend.

The coffee is excellent ,there is one problem . The health and safety is very poor. I tried contacting COSTA ,and no answer on phone Webb site useless unless you have written paperwork .They were doing a special £10.00 food mix for £3.00 ,Sounds great so . In was prawns in sauce great left on top of counter on hottest day of the year NOT chilled ,This could end up making some one very .If you value your customers sort the staff as one thought it ok ,really didn't care basically. As regular customer I want answers

Seating upstairs is lovely and spacious! Great for doing a bit of work.

We visited Sunday 20/3/2022 for a cappuccino, tea and two raspberry and almond tray bakes. The latter we have many times and really like them. Not today, however. Very dry and hard like solid sawdust. Returned them and asked for a change. my wife had a muffin and I had a pain au raisin. Both of those were very good but prior to that the staff had difficulty in working it out when I asked for a 25 pence refund as the pain au raisin was £1.85 and the tray bakes were £2.10. The muffin was also £2.10. I explained WHY there was a refund due and after discussions between the three of them they handed me 25 pence from the tips jar ! Obviously schools don't teach basic mental arithmetic these days and unless the till can work it out for them they are totally confused. Standards of clearing and cleaning tables have slipped back to how they used to be before Covid rules tightened up cleaning and clearing. ( Not only at this branch but at l others too ).

A tall barista is impolite. He rolls his eyes every time he sees me. Whenever I ask for an extra hot coffee his co stantly serves me a warm one. I just cannot stand coffee that is not extra hot. Rest of the staff find polite and helpful.

Love costa. It's a nice spot to have a drink and relax tho not a fan of the music rather have the music off, it's better for relaxation

This recently opened Costa branch is quite comfortable inside, with seating on ground and first floor levels. The toilets were adequate. However, the coffee is nothing to write home about, being essentially a large cup of warm milk with some overly bitter espresso at the bottom. Costa has for a long time tried to convince the public that bigger is better; in the case of a cup of coffee, this is not the case. In so doing, it appears to have forgotten about producing a nice cup of coffee. Yet, balancing venue against flavour, this branch is ok.

This costa is great for studying! It had plugs, a good selection of drinks and food (the costa hot chocolate is the best) and is spacious (upstairs)

Overall poor. Cashier was giving a f face. Spoon for the coffee were placed on a dirty wet surface. The way the barista made coffee? Roadside coffee stalls does it better. Ground coffee were not compacted on the portafilter and thrown straight into the group. Seats? Floors? Like the side of the road.

Very poor. Dirty inside, extremely slow Batista's and they were shouting at the new girl being very rude and demeaning to her, all in front of customers!

Was a good Costa, their food and drinks were of the usual standard. Nothing out of the ordinary. Was in a good accessable place in the centre by the market, but the ground floor waiting room was very crowded and the quew of only a few people was out of the door.

POOR - DO NOT VISIT Wanted a quick bite and coffee for my little girl age 3 (who was hungry) before we set off home. Whilst the staff were happy to take my custom they did not mention that the seating/store would close in 10 minutes. No sooner we had our drinks and food served, the staff kept on pestering me, my wife who had a hungry 3 year old to keep moving from one seating area to another, and then every two minutes to remind me the store was about to close, whilst my little girl burnt her tongue drinking the hot coffee quickly, struggling to finish her brownie. Even whilst we were packing to go leave without finishing the food/drink, we were once again harassed by the staff. When I Confronted ALI the manager, he said that I should have read the minuscule signage for the opening and closing time for the shop ... VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - POOR MANAGER and MANAGEMENT SKILLS - COSTA PLEASE NOTE

Always go upstairs for the view over the marketplace, it's far less crowded-standard fare but they do need to improve on their hot meal range as just two choices does not rally cut it!

Not impressed that unable to access disabled toilet as it was blocked off by a trolley plus lift difficult to get to as blocked by staff member's clearing trolley

It's a great location for a Costa. The seating upstairs gives you a panoramic view over the market place and the church. Lots of seating, friendly staff and good prices/drinks. Would recommend for a coffee if you're in town!

This store always seems to be full of people doing their work on laptops, accompanied by bottles of water. Annoying that paying customers are struggling to find seats while laptop carriers get free electricity and don't seem to be buying any coffee

Opens early, it is quiet first thing in the morning, ideal for getting work done. There were electric sockets right by our table so we could've charged our laptop if needed. Service was swift and polite. Toilets are on the first floor, there is a lift if you are not fan of stairs. The toilets are genderless, and there is one for the less able, which was not locked, fab!

the toilets urine was all over the floor, there was no toilet paper so another customer resorted to putting napkins in the loo. On top if this there was used sanitary products on the floor over spilling from the bin

It was OK when it was open, but it has closed permanently! All the signage is gone and the interior stripped out. Google need to update their list.

I like most costa's, good ambience and great coffee and this one fits into that groove very nicely.

Only visited twice at the new location but both times have been poor. First time was just after it opened so I let that slide due to newness etc, but latest visit involved disinterested staff leaning across the counter looking at their phones, begrudgingly getting up to serve, and immediately returning to slouching over the counter after my coffee was ready. No chocolate offered for coffee, no sauce offered for breakfast roll, no tray offered to carry multiple items; not major issues, but really the bare minimum level of service being offered. And after that the coffee wasn't great either. The best I can say is that I got what I asked for, paid the advertised price and found somewhere to sit. Shame really as it's a good location and space, but in terms of quality, the little Costa under the escalators in the Grand Arcade a few minutes walk away is infinitely better.

Toilet was a mess. Flooded with toilet paper on floor. Most seating downstairs with no natural light . Very claustrophobic

It is inside the Grand Arcade shopping centre. The cafè is constantly busy. I would suggest to the management to improve the service, because sometimes is impossible find a clean table, and on the tables there are dirty cups and glasses from previous customers.

Talking about Costa Coffee of Market Street. I ordered a coffee through my Costa App, I paid and a message put me that my order was ready and I could collect in 5 min. I went there and this Costa was closed because of a power cut but obviously I didn’t know when I ordered through the app. I was knocking the door and I saw all the workers seated and one of the girls who was in front of the door, with her finger pointed to a paper sign where was explained the problem, I read and I showed her my phone as I ordered my coffee. The answer I got was: she got up and pointed me again the sign as: “can you read?” but in addition she was laughing at me! I was so disappointed so a guy opened the door and I told him what I can do if I ordered the coffee and I wanted my money back, he said “well I don’t know what you can do, you can come other day or go to Grand Arcade”, he tried to help me and I was grateful because at least he opened the door to explain what happened. Then I went to Grand Arcade and the Grand Arcade team is always fast and helpful, and dealing with customers with the best way and fortunately they served my coffee without any problem. I’m sorry but the team of Market Street showed me totally the opposite. And in addition, I’v gone there a few times and they go slow, and twice I needed to correct my coffee because they were serving a different one. So I’m not going anymore there. I really miss the Costa of Sidney Street, some of them (if it’s not all the team) are hopefully in Grand Arcade.
