Costa Coffee in Cambridge

Very welcoming and polite staff, went the extra mile when I went with my daughter made her feel like "a big" girl and made her experience wonderful in the words of a 5 year old

The server Marie was very helpful and very talkative. I think that she deserves a raise

The girl this morning was extremely helpful, I have an allergy to nuts and she went through the allergen thoroughly and took the time to open new packets for the muffins so there wasn’t a chance of cross contamination!

Terrible service, endangering those with allergies. I made it very clear I would like vegan hot chocolate, and I asked if the tiffin was vegan, the girl behind the counter said yes. She seemed very disinterested and quite rude, so I checked the Costa website just in case to find the tiffin actually contains milk. I then asked her to check her allergy book, which she handed to me and I checked through it myself and showed her it contained milk. She did not seem bothered, didn’t offer me a refund on the tiffin I had already paid for. The store had no customers in so there was no chance she misheard me, just blatantly lying to people. This lack of care could kill someone with a serious milk allergy, luckily I just have an intolerance. This Costa has become terrible for vegan products in the last year, the drinks taste vile and yet are very expensive, will not be coming again and will be swearing everyone I know off the brand.

10/10 regular study area. The staff are super lovely and even check in to see if I needed any water. And location is great and super clean 😊. If you need a study place I’d recommend.

Friendly staff but please buy a new card machine that works! Costa isn't known for giving that premium feeling but I'm not prepared to crowdfund for them to take my money!

My recent visit to Costa left me with mixed feelings. On a quiet afternoon with only five customers around, we placed our drink orders. However, the barista's attitude was less than stellar. She appeared visibly impatient, rolling her eyes as she sipped her drink through a straw without uttering a word. When I asked about the restroom, her response was equally uncommunicative - a slow nod without any guidance on its location. The lack of welcoming and friendly service has left me with reservations about returning to this place.

Had a great little time in Costa on Hills Road Cambridge, staff where courteous and hpfull Jamie went out of his way to help me and had a nice chat with Tom, my daughter and myself were made to feel most welcome, and the Coffee/Hot Chocolate were really good☕🍫😁😁

Really poor customer service. Baristas are rude. You have to ask for everything: spoon/ tray/ napkins. Also seems very prejudiced against ethnic minorities- clearly not the same experience. Lee is the worst. The lady is nice though

I am a regular attendee to Costa on Hills road since I work close by. However, I was informed by the staff that they have changed milk supplier and consequently, all their milk (including cows milk and alternative milks) are now no longer gluten/wheat free!!!! How disgraceful that a coffee shop cannot sell a gluten free cupa! Have u ever heard such a thing…!! I’m not sure whether it’s just the Costa on Hills road or whether it’s all the Costa’s but for anyone who has coeliacs disease, an intolerance/sensitivity to wheat or gluten or suchlike or for those who just like to care for themselves… pick another place to enjoy your cupa 😊

Very slow service. Coffee to bitter as every Costa. Glad had it for free.

Off a busy main road fairly near to the train station, this pretty quiet branch of Costa offers a laid back and peaceful place to enjoy a cup of joe, read a book and take a seat. Though the coffee is of Costa's famously awful quality, the environs more than make up for it. The single member of staff on duty the day I visited was polite, efficient and, though clearly run off her feet, attentive. The venue was a little cold but that was probably a function of pinning the door open for air circulation.

Today, I met my sister for the first time. We enjoyed a coffee and a tea at this store. A staff member went above and beyond to make us comfortable and even offed to capture the moment for us with taking a photo of us for me. So to whoever this gentleman was, thank you so much you have captured a monumental moment of our lifes and deserves a shout out. Thank you! 😁

Things are just not the same since they left Whitbread

Come in every day and is always a warm welcome, can get busy but always do a good job of reducing the queue. Good quality drinks to go with the service and nice staff.

Fantastic location and well maintained shop. Visited twice on the day of my Cambridge visit. A kind of busy store running near the station.

Walk in 30secs after closing and was rudely told they were closed, even though the opening times were covered up in the door. Not sure I will bother with this Costa again as there is another 200m up the road. Shame.

One of my favorite Costa coffe shops. Lovely staff and the coffe is perfect as usual.

Came in around 3;25 pm for some hot food as sandwiches in Co-op had sold out. I asked about hot food and replied with the oven has been cleaned and not serving hot food. That was 3;30 and the store closes at 5pm. I asked if they can make an exception. Had an aggressive manner from the male server. Ordered 2x h.c; 1 latte, one crossaint and one chocolate twirl but no manners from the server ( meanwhile the lady server was sort of polite and helpful) Was treated differently from another customer who was younger. This customer did not keep social distance at all and was invading my space. The servers did not ask her to keep social distance. This is poor training. The male server made her drink first! I had to wait extra 5 min for that. In the end the hc and latte was very substandard. You can see the HC in the photos.The latte was sour. What a waste of money!!! There is their CCTV evidence for all this!! Conclusion: an ageist attitude and will serve you if you are young and single!!!! Not keen on making anything on Sunday pm and so why is the store opened then??? Don't think will visit this place again even on a BLUE MOON!!!

Slow slow service. They also serve out of order so the guy who ordered after me got his drink before they started mine. Tables not cleared. Rubbery croissant.

In summary, •Clean •Efficient •Friendly •Highly recommended This has been my firm favourite Costa for over a year now. The staff have always accommodated my admittedly quite particular order. The place has always been extremely clean with staff offering to clean my favourite table after other customers. Ample seating. The food selection is good, with staff making recommendations when asked. Staff are wonderful with customers that have additional needs.

All good as usual, very quiet but was totally put off by hearing a supervisor telling a new member of staff how to hard sell more expensive items when serving drinks, telling him not to offer low price items and to aim for expensive items. Not good but drinks fine.

My gift voucher had just expired after 13 months so disappointed that they wouldn't honor it. I explained that they had been closed for most of the last year so not a good policy.

Coffee - absolute rubbish - undrinkable no point in complaining staff not interested. Now the tea is brilliant apart from dirty cups but otherwise shop is spotless a credit to staff a shame they are so misersble

No discount for local businesses? When most of the shops do 10-20% !?

I've often eaten here while working in Cambridge. The staff are excellent and manage to keep things running smoothly in these covid times even when the place is overrun with school children. The food and drink is consistently Costa, and while this may not be special the staff work hard to make this a great location.

Went there half an hour before closing, got kicked out before I even entered. This was on a Wednesday

It's a Costa, pretty much the same as all of the rest them. This is not a bad thing. The service was good, the coffee was good and it was a reasonably comfortable place to sit while I waited for my wife. The costa of the Costa was reasonable. I would be happy to return as a convenient location.

An easily located outlet that is bright, modern and fresh. The outlet is well lit and spacious. The staff are very friendly and pleasant.

This is a well-situated Costa that has cheerful staff and plenty of restaurant space. I would recommend this place.

Standard Costa quiet and nice upholstery. A very popular place for revising Hills Rd students during the summer term so from april to july gets quite a bit busier

This is my usual lunchtime haunt. recently I discovered their fabulous Cortado which is my favourite kind of coffee at the moment. It has less calories than a latte by far, and taste more coffee! The atmosphere and staff are great!

Sono sempre stata una frequentatrice di Starbucks ma devo dire che anche Costa non è per nulla male. I prezzi sono un pochino piu bassi, il locale è molto piu pulito e il servizio è buono! Questo Costa in particolare (forse perchè è un pelo piu fuori dal centro) è molto tranquillo e si è sempre sicuri di trovare posto a sedere.

Usual Costa standard: Lovely coffee, plentiful if you want it large, nice biscuits, buns and chocolate. Not cheap but not expensive either

What can I say - probably like most. The flavoured syrups are far too sweet and not flavoured enough (could always add more sugar if necessary so would be great to err on the side of too little). Seems clean and the person who took our orders was pleasantly chatty and efficient.

Really below average. Not clean, not enough staff and no provision for under 5s in terms of suitable food.

Lovely store. I enjoy Costa's menu anyway, but I stopped in to pass some time during Black Forest Hot Chocolate season (my favourite) and despite it being busy I had a really peaceful time reading on one of the back tables. Staff were a delight.

I have literally not had service in an establishment in my life! Went for a latte while we waited for my daughter’s train to get in on Friday evening on 14th December. The girl behind the counter was so miserable, obviously didn’t want to serve us (or anyone!) when she eventually took our order (we were the only people waiting), she told the cleaner to make them (rudely!) I was astonished. It looked like it was going to take a while so I asked if we could sit down and would she bring them over and she said “no, you have to wait there”. Lots of huffing and sighing. Couldn’t get out of there quickly enough.

Both toilets broken, very slow service

Good location between the station and the old town - and a large interior which means that you can be confident of getting a seat. I went in to prepare for a meeting and write up some notes. Pleasant surroundings and the coffee is a known quantity. All good.

Waited for an eternity for our order. Appalling, very very slow- took all the pleasure out of our ‘quick’ break. Very disappointing!!!!!

Most people nice and kind but one rude barrista who talked so condescendingly when explaining that they didn't have a caramel latte frostino. Thanks to the other hardworking barristas though

Took ten minutes to make a cold brew that consisted mainly of water (I was the only person in the queue) and also charged about £3.30. Barely even caffeinated.

The quality of the coffee varies a lot between different visit. Sometimes, coffee is really not up to the standard and not drinkable at all. I also don't understand why they don't like to give you enough number of napkins. How much do they save by not giving you just few napkins!

This Costa has a nice spot on Hills Road, and might be ideal if you just fancy a coffee in a different venue to where you've eaten. Relaxing and inviting.

A brief escape from the rain to catch up on emails and write up notes between meetings. The coffee was fine and the service prompt and friendly.

I'm not the biggest fan of Costa, yes they pay tax and there isn't massively naferious tax evasion schemes afoot, however they don't have allergy friendly items! Soya milk is the only on they offer, no rice or almond or hazelnut in sight! Kinda poor form! Also savory food items everything has cheese, or milk in. The service is good, friendly. Could be a bit cleaner! Not my favorite, but I don't object to it completely.

Costa are always reliably good as far as coffee and refreshments are concerned. Music a bit too loud though.

Quaint little costa near the apartment we were staying in during our stay. Nice and quiet.

The best ice cappuccino among all Costa Coffee places in Cambridge. Nice place for a coffee break, especially when the weather is good and you can sit outside. The coffee though can be quite strong at times.

Staff do not even bother about what customers say. I dont understand how such big company employs people like them. Prefer these locals Cafes for my coffee as they treat you better and make you feel welcomed.

I love costa coffee, the staff are helpfull and polite. Its such a lovely place to meet your friends etc for a perfect coffee and something to eat and great choice.

Cappuccino - good Bakewell - delicious Toilets - horrific. There's only one (so I had to wait for 10 mins) and it clearly needs to be cleaned more frequently.

Had an hour to kill and time to myself so popped into this Costa. Really clean, great service and plenty of seating. Drinks and food were fresh and made quickly.
