Loved this place will definitely be going back good beer and friendly bar staff. Top notch

I go for the karaoke most Thursdays and the atmosphere is always amazing, the staff are wonderful and it's very reasonably priced.

The only bar I’ve felt totally welcomed in. Great fun, cheap booze and camp as tuck!!! If you’re in Tamworth and like having any fun at all, come here. Accept no substitutes!

A group of us was pulled in by the music, and wow, what a night! Tamworth is a dying disaster, but this pub was rammed, the music and entertainment was amazing, such a diverse crowd. Definitely lifted a flat Saturday night in Tamworth!

Always a fun night in the white lion, definitely my go to place.

Owner/ manageress very rude and unpleasant. Younger staff very nice but seemed stressed so not much customer interaction. Didn't stay long just wanted to leave to be honest. Also didn't like toweling towels in toilets.

Early evening drink & game of pool before the rush.

Popped in tonight with my son. Friendly place. Felt fully at ease which is rare for me. They had drag karaoke. And heard the best rendition of back to black I've ever heard. Will definitely be returning. Thank you so much, my son had a lovely time.

One of the great tradition pubs, found it clean and tidy, they have good priced beers at certain times, well worth a visit.

Alas it was almost empty of people when we went but the staff were nice and polite and the drinks nice. Well go again hopefully when it's a bit bussier lol. It as a great reputation for good entertainment and a good atmosphere.

Whilst visiting a friend in Tamworth we tried the White Lion. It was a Saturday night and the 2 DJ's had the place bouncing about. Good range of drinks. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Well done.

If you love Amy Winehouse then you will love this place. It's all they seem to play.

the drinks are flat and the drinks get whacked on the table like your a inconvenience and hen your paying £4.10 for a Stella you done expect it in a plastic glass and be flat as a tire.

Old style pub smells of stale beer when you walk in. Sticky floor sticky seats and sticky tables. Over priced drinks

Lovely clean pub in a nice setting right next to the canal, huge garden outside, would book a table if you want to sit inside as the pub is very popular. The staff are lovely, They serve fresh homemade food, highly recommend the cottage pie x

Great food, great service, by a warm welcoming staff. Can work out a bit expensive if there are a number in your group, but food is well worth it. Generous portions, all cooked to order and always hot. Definitely recommend you try popping in.

Excellent Customer Service. We are very friendly and welcoming, Kind of place you could walk into wether your alone or with a group and still feel welcome and comfortable. Food is of an Excellent standard and hygiene rating 5* Entertainment on the weekend is absolutely fantastic but i would say arrive early if you want a seat, as this venue does fill up.. That aside, we always have enough staff on hand to make sure everybody is served without hanging around. Give it a go ;)

I popped into the White Lion for one drink with my partner and we stayed for 3 drinks. This was due to the entertaining bar staff who work so well together. We will definitely return on our next visit to Tamworth.

Popped in for a quick pint before getting the train. Would have been better standing in the cold for an hour. Run down. No real ale despite 3 hand pull pumps. Poole table as old as Tamworth castle. No one in there. Toilets were shocking would have been better taking a leak up a lamppost and risking getting arrested. Stay clear of this one. Only good thing was the Guinness.

Popped in here last night and had such a laugh! The DJ was fab!!! Will deffo come back next time I come to Tamworth!

Party atmosphere but beer choice mediocre

Bar staff are friendly once they realise you’re there. Glass was filthy! Cider was flat. Full of drunken youths!

No draught beers when we called, only lagers and keg beers.

No lunch was available just before 1 pm. They claimed that everything was sold out!

I personally would not use this pub as it's a terrible place. The staff are all horrible the food is rubbish and the beer watered down..it's not really a very friendly place to drink in. They are all bully I there too getting their regulars to go round threatening people saying there going to beat them up..and there all on drugs I've noticed people doing it the the toilets. All in all I would strongly advise people to stay away from the white lion as it's a disgusting vile place to drink in

This pub will honestly go down like the titanic! Over the past year me and my family have had so much trouble from this pub it’s unbelievable! I got banned cos of a customer throwing a pint over me..I didn’t even retaliate I carried on walking didn’t want the argument as was out with friends which also got covered in beer..the landlord knows what goes on in this pub I’ve told him endless times but he just don’t listen! Tonight I went to another pub to be followed by a member of staff from the lion and a customer from there to be asked to step outside to be beaten up,this pub is a total joke,they gossip and take the Mick out of certain customers behind their backs which I’ve heard them myself do..please don’t lower yourself and find a “ decent” establishment in Tamworth instead of this awful place..if there was a zero button I’d be rating them that right now believe me..Friday and Saturday nights are “ drag queen” nights where customers are being took the Mick out of infront of a packed pub some people have even left cos of the embarresment of it all,the acts are the same every week,music is the same playlist and the staff are just atrocious,honestly very vile nasty staff who get the customers involved too in causing trouble even for my 15 year old daughter who just walk past the pub! Not child friendly at all,I’ve been offered a white powder in the toilets I told the landlord who said nothing just turns a blind eye as it’s all “ custom” to him..I wouldn’t take my worst enemy to this dive I really wouldn’t..

Visit Tamworth on a regular basis and seem to end up here late on a Saturday night. Why. It's Tranny DJ night. I kid you not in the depths of Manly Tamworth we have 3 cross dressing DJ's playing those Cheesy numbers till late.It's a laugh. Good crowd in and very friendly staff. Don't be shy give it a go. Only downside NO real Ale. Nevermind. Oh and by the way good Sunday Roast the day after.

Need to work on in side the pub by painting it to updateing it and need to have more doormen on so they is no fighting and karaoke needs updateing.

Being a gay woman in tamworth there is not many places to go to drink in Tanworth so gave the white lion a go . What a disaster. Walked in atmosphere was horrible. Music was what you have at weddings so proper rubbish. Tgen we went to the bar and a bloke sitting there who i assumed to be the gaffer the way he was carrying on. Found out later that he just lives upstairs!! The whole time we was there he was staring and giving us dirty looks making us feel very unwelcome and very very uncomfortable. Needless to say will not be going back again.

Called here for Sunday Lunch on the recomendation of someone else and found the food was very good value for money the propieter served me with my food in a very oblgeable way and nothing seemed to much trouble the pub restaurant was quite a nice place but I should imagine it could get quite noisy in there and I got the impression that it would be a place that would cater more for the males but I dont think a female would feel intimidated in there
