Clydes Bar and Grill in Tamworth

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rasict manager who was called Andy instead of deescalating a situation where is his unprofessional staff decided instead of actually doing their jobs found it amusing to laugh at customers with small children instead. When we confronted the manager about the lack/ poor service his response was that I had an attitude and told my group with two young children to get out of the facility and that we were banned for making a complaint about his staff. This manager Andy seemed to be getting off with this little sense of power trip he had. In fact to come an approach our table which consisted of two female adults and two young children he came with his female body guard which was not needed. We have been to this restaurant before and never an issue the other manager mes Owen lovely and very professional but unfortunately not there on this occasion. Such a shame as a lot of family events outside on the castle grounds for St George’s day so very ideal spot for lunch but never again.

seeing someof these reviews i feel bad for the staff that were in this afternoon, the server was attentive and polite the food tho unremarkable was nice and a little more then i was expecting from a bowling ally partner, a few problems with booking but was quickly sorted and fixed.. my niece had a salad that was coated in dressing which unfortunately wasn't to her taste amd after me trying it i still was undecided wether the salad was good or not, my hotdog with pulled pork was great.. my only wish was a few more chips and slaw or a bigger hotdog for the price.

I went with school play bowling. Food was amazing 👏 Service was great that I said thank you to staff when I had my Food. Atmosphere was busy because I was with school but it was still amazing the food. Staff very kind and amazing 👏 😀

We went on a Sunday and had to chase our drinks but yes nothing to really wright home about but it looked nice when you was inside

Good solid food with excellent friendly service.

Adult portions are big. Kids desserts underwhelming. Chocolate sundae only had one tiny piece of brownie at the bottom. Was able to watch the football whilst waiting for food which was good.

Slightly better then weatherspoon in term of food. Nothing special and food seem like it’s from a chain restaurant/microwave. Was ok if you just stop by for some snack after the snowdome. That Service were okay .

Directly at the end of the bowling alley, Ideal for lunch or evening meal. Wasn't too busy when we went either.

Terrible place. Took the grandchildren b for lunch of skin on fri scans was handed 2 tiny portions of chips with sauce sachets rather than the usual box that everybody else was eating when questions, the girl told us we had sat in the bar area. Had to request a bowl or plate each for the 2 children for their ketchup to avoid the mess which waerevdumpedvunceremonioysky in the table. I packed d the same price as last time we went to Clydes so not sure where the issue or attitude came from as there are no dividing sections to say which is restaurant and which is bar. I’m b fact m, we sat at the same area as last time. Had I known , we would have moved where the service was more accommodating to a family (one in a wheelchair). Won’t be going back anytime soon unless they start displaying discount areas in the budget section where it appears we sat.

Not been in a long time but was not let down by the service food was brought to our lane as we did not have time to sit at the table and the service was good as was the food

Very good menu and a large convenience factor to be attributed toward the fact that the bowling venue is present next door. That being said, it's an above average eatery and refreshment area. Recommended and very satisfactory. Thumbs up

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, GO TO FIVE GUYS INSTEAD! Went in here to try it because it smells good from the outside but don’t let that fool you and be lured in. The staff do not have the best hygiene for a start so walking in wasn’t pleasant. They were very slow taking our order and took 20 minutes to bring a drink over and the state of the glass it was brought over in was disgusting I was almost sick. Please see the pictures. They prioritise people in the arcade side of things so even if the grill side isn’t busy they’ll prioritise all the people in the bar with their drinks and/or food. I asked the guy for new glasses he went back and come over 5 minutes later and said it must be the dishwasher and brought over another dirty glass. It was honestly disgusting. This wasn’t just marks on the glass it was like thick grime that would come off. Genuinely revolting

We were so badly treated due to the fact we’re teenagers. Eye rolls and attitude. They ruined our birthday celebration. Do not recommend coming here without parents.

1st time eating here,the burgers were really tasty & large,very filling,the skin on fries were yummy & you got a large portion,the apple pie with custard was also very tasty & a good portion size,the restaurant area was very clean & the service was excellent,although it wasn’t that busy,the waitress was very helpful with questions we had about the food & she was very friendly as well. Would definitely be eating here again.

Always check your bill they are adding extras and they are hoping you don't notice.

We visited for a family meal on bank holiday. We were greeted tv a female member of staff who said they could not accept ‘walk ins’ and we had to book on line. Despite the restraints not being very empty. She told us we could stand outside and book on like and come back. We stood in the carpark (with 2 toddlers) and booked a table on line and walked back in. We showed to our table and told there was 45 min wait for food which we kindly agreed to wait. We watched the staff chatted and pointing to us. Then someone came back over and said the wait for food was now 60 mins. This was shortly followed by being told that the kitchen was actually closing. We were told that they closed the on line booking system and would not accept our booking!! Despite their staff telling us to book a table outside and we would be served. We were gobsmacked. The staff clearly did not want to service us. I’m not sure if they wanted to close early, but the whole thing was highly unprofessional and rude. We had 2 children under the age of 4. We have contacted trading standards and reported the venue. The food looked really rubbish anyway. Luckily we found another pub which was super friendly and served lovely home cooked food. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENUE

HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. Not family friendly. Would not recommend. We were refused enter to this venue today because no booking. Staff told us to stand outside and book online and we could go back in. We took our 2 toddlers and stood outside in January cold weather and booked on my phone. Went back in 10 minutes later and staff sat us down at our reserve an We were then told that there was 45 min wait for food, the. 60 min wait for food, then told that the kitchen was closed and they would not accept our online booking. The children had chosen their meal from the menu and were starving hungry when we were told that they were closing the kitchen. The restaurant wasn’t even half full. The staff clearly did not want to serve us. I don’t know if they wanted to close early, but this was only at 1pm. Shocking and ridiculous way to treat customers. The food looked really cheap anyway. Luckily we found a lovely pub up the road who served nice home cooked food and staff were really friendly and accommodating. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. there are a few lovely pubs close by which are much more family friendly and professional.

Food average some Luke warm .however real issue was attitude of the supervisor in charge pm Sunday 4/09/2022.she tok order and got elements of it wrong.ordered one side salad RCD two.when we mentioned it to guy who brought it he said you may as well have it as will go in bin.when paying and billed for two the stroppy supervisor said you ate it so have to pay for it.( Cost was only £2.50 so not issue of money but attitude ). Orange squash or kids was undrinkable.again she said yes some people think it tastes funny but some drink it and some don't! The generally arrogant replies kiled my 8 year old grand daughters birthday lunch.my suggestion having been in sales for over 30 years is to send her for some basic customer care training or move her to back room duties!

Terrible customer service from the supervisor working today. Charged for items that weren't ordered even though told we wouldn't be because they made a mistake with the order. Food and drink very average.

Lovely decor, very good, happy staff, very good service. Food was excellent and good value for the money. Dessert hot chocolate fudge cake was huge and would highly recommend as a place to eat.

Credit where credits due. We went in at 8pm tonight and was met by the friendliest staff who were attentive and nice throughout even though they were totally swamped. They could have done with another staff member on tables but on the whole we had nothing to complain about. The food was good, it was well priced and a great atmosphere.

Was misled by woman working in there I phoned and asked for manager they said they will call me. Great food, great selection, perfect for families with children. Our waitress Clare C was very welcoming, attentive and super helpful. She was very engaging with our son who can be shy around people he hasn’t met before and he’s having a full on conversation with her! Food was prompt and tasty. Fair prices. Would definitely use again when we’re in the area.

Service is good, food is not good. Burger was unbelievably dry and bland. Dirty fries are essentially just cheesy chips with bbq sauce. Kids meals looked ok though and they both ate it all, so can't complain about that. Definitely will not be going back though.

Food was some what satisfactory - the wait time was a bit on the poor side. Took about 2-3 business days to have the table cleared and cheque received and the absolute worst thing of all it cost me £10 for the parking! Vile prices. went for a meal to celebrate and there was impeccable service. we got seated by a sever called Natalie who was very attentive the entire evening. puddings were ordered before close too which was fantastic, had an amazing evening and we cannot thank Natalie enough!!

I took my sister here for a bite to eat as ive heard the place was rated quite good. Its the first and last time i will ever been to this place. The staff lady who served me was very polite but the meal and starter was not really good. The fries was luke warm, my onion rings was over cooked and tuff where the batter has turned dark brown and my burger was dry so over cooked. I did say to the lady who served me the onion rings were tuff where she changed them with no hassle. The place is clean but as for value for your money personally, i wouldn't recommend, i find it too greasy.

Visually nice, convenient next to the bowling alley, with 3 hours free level access parking. Restaurant is clean and food is reasonably priced, staff are friendly. There were only about four covers when we visited, yet the food took ages to arrive and the same with the bill! Food was good and what you’d expect for this type of restaurant. Onion rings were sitting in a pool of oil. Beer tasted and smelt off. Steak was not cooked how I asked and also came out cold. Chips were cold and tasted of oil. Front of house also seemed miserable. Nobody came to check if the food was good. All whilst there were only 3 families in the place. Need a change of staff or more training. This place has potential.

Great place to eat if you're nearby. Staff are polite and at the moment everyone seems to be bowling rather than eating so not too crowded. Good food too.

Nice meal in pleasant surroundings. Restaurant wasn't busy and the waiting staff were polite and accommodating when we asked for extra sauces and cutlery etc. Food was hot and the beef burger (adult) was a good size portion. Salad on both main meals was limp and could have been better. Coleslaw was served with one main, but not the other as it was vegan. Onion rings were nice and not oily. Sweetcorn was either over done or probably cooked from frozen. Save yourselves the £2.50 and have something else. It would also have come smothered in a BBQ sauce. We had this on the side, which was an excellent choice for us as the sauce tasted very much of vinegar/rancid, so would have ruined the sweetcorn for us. Milkshakes were tasty if slightly small. The Mars bar one had 3 chunks of mars bar in it. The Maltezer and Oreo only 1 for each, however more may have been added but dissolved. No option for plant based milk unfortunately, just semi skimmed. The milkshakes are served with a good portion of cream on top.

will not consider returning again, firstly had to wait 5 mins when they're was only 3 tables in the restaurant occupied. then when we had finally received food, had no check backs on the table to see whether everything was alright. had a kids pizza for the littlun and a adults to find you pay double for the same amount of toppings on both and about 2 inches of crust on the adults. we then had to call a waitress over after waiting nearly 15 mins of waitresses walking past us constantly not even paying attention, we could of probably walked out and they wouldn't of been oblivious to it. overall this place could be a good place however they just lack the staffs enthusiasm to be there

Staff were fine wait time was ok midweek visit. Food was poor for price, burger was small with very little pulled pork. More importantly it was served like warm not hot. Only went as convenient to the hotel I was staying at but like many places was unable to serve quality food in my opinion. Won't be returning.

Usually find something to criticise very easily when eating out. Came here for bowls and play with the kids and decided to eat at Clydes on the 2nd August 2021 for lunch as we were here. I must say.. Very clean well maintained venie. The staff are a delight, very smart polite and intelligent customer service, totally professional and was a very pleasant experience indeed and food wow, I’m very picky.. Very surprised, kind of expected something that it wasn’t - all good, was prepared beautifully, perfect temperature, tasted amazing and exceeded my expectations. I applaud the service food and venue staff and cheffing staff are a credit to the eatery.. I’d give it 5 stars but nothing can be perfect 😍

Been visiting Clyde’s frequently for over a year now and have only ever had great meals there. The steaks and pizzas (bases made fresh) are standout excellent and are as good as any other restaurant I’ve visited... don’t think this is a bowling alley snack bar, this is an excellent restaurant in its own right!

Visited Clyde’s for the first time today. We were pleasantly surprised. Nice decor plenty of space between the tables. Very polite and friendly service. Great food. Left full and satisfied. Thank you!

Ok so just been in for a meal , food was great but when serving staff don’t pay attention you get chaos ! Burger ordered with just lettuce ( comes out plain ! Have to then ask for lettuce !! 2 ice cream desserts come out ( after 10mins waiting we have to interrupt a conversation between staff to ask for spoons to eat them with ) bill arrives and still tries to charge me for dessert that never arrived !! No apology ! No offer to get it just re did bill !! Appalling service ! Customers should not be chasing staff for cutlery !

Overall food was nice. We ate on the Eat out to help out scheme and had 3 courses for 4 people, would have normally cost just over £80. Covid arrangements seemed clumsy with entry on oppoaite side to normal but waitress who shows people to table were by main entrance. There was a long wait at the start despite it being quiet just to be seated for a booked table at 6. There were problems with drinks, lemonade had run out and we had fizzy water twice, felt a bit awkward trying to get sorted. Burgers were huge and nice quality. Sound was very echoey like being in a swimming pool. Lowered to 3 stars because food was worth 4 just but atmosphere and awkwardness let it down.

Four of us had a meal here on a Saturday night. The food was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful too. Could not fault it, the drinks were prompt and the food did not take long either. Overall, an enjoyable experience!
