Lovely pub with friendly atmosphere. Didn’t go for food just a few ciders.

Booked about 12 14 of us for breakfast we pre ordered and everything came out lovely couldn't ask for more will come again.

Excellent reception from waiting staff, extensive lunchtime menu, perfect food, and great atmosphere. Will come again. The restaurant is so much nicer than it was before.

New owners few months ago and wow....I hadn't been here for a long time as the food went downhill with the previous owners,I use to visit often and after today I shall be returning.Being in hospitality myself I can be fussy the food I had was imense all fresh,I had the steak rump 10z and was so tender exactly how issued it to be cooked and what I wanted with it and all the trimmings and sauce my nan had lasagne a smaller portion which suited her and both had dessert which was homemade and presentation was spot on.The service which is the main thing g when out was fabulous and couldn't fault it the young lady with blonde hair was so sweet lovley with my nan and had a great sense of humour and noticed she was great with other customers also which makes the place,I see they do breakfast I must try also booked a Xmas party here where the menu looks great value for money.The pub was clean and toilets were spotless and when leaving got a warm goodbye which made a difference and made our visit.We Definitely will be back and tell others about this great place thankyou for a good experience.

We stopped here for lunch to break up a long journey and it was the perfect pitstop: a warm welcome, and a tasty filling meal in the sunny garden, overlooking the village church.

Under new mgmt and how amazing they are. Great range of beers and wines, just hired a new chef who will further extend the menu but food already great. A warm welcome awaits under the new mgmt. Also open all day (from 9am) great coffee and breakfasts.

A fantastic country pub with a large shaded garden. Delicious breakfast served until 11am. Friendly staff made us and our dog feel very welcome.

We visited for the first time today after hearing good reviews. I asked for half a pint of cider got a pint which we had to pay for and ordered 2 meals only 1 served and told we only ordered 1 which was incorrect no apologies. Told after the other (mediocre)meal had been finished it would be at least another 15 mins for a further meal if I went to the bar and ordered all over again! Waited at the bar and couldn't get served very disappointing 😔

Poor quality and vastly overpriced ham egg and chips. No garnish, hastily prepared . Wouldn't go again....

Went for breakfast last Sunday. Full English was excellent and good value. A lovely well kept pub with extensive outside seating when the weather allows.

Obvious that the pub is trying rebuild reputation and clientele in my opinion it shouldn't take long if they maintain current standards.

Food was cooked well except for carbonnara sauce, my dinner was served in a soup consistency not coating. The staff obviously had a problem but it should be discussed in private not in the dining room.

This pub is superb. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. The location is glorious. Bradford on Tone is wonderful village with a beautiful Norman church, which is opposite this stunning pub. A true gem of a place. I don't work at the pub or live in the village. This 5 star rating would be 6 if that were possible!

Nice friendly pub, very clean and tidy. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and attentive. We had lunch with some friends. They seemed satisfied with their meal, but mine was at the best, average. I had sausage and mash, the vegetables served with the meal were awful, as was the mashed potato. As this is the staple of any pub menu, it still amazes me that some places can't manage to get it right. Maybe next time.

First time had a lunch here since the new landlord, etc, has taken over. Can’t fault it. The chocolate brownie was scrummy.

Lovely little find after the road I was heading for was closed. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar. I was famished, so I asked if food was being served. The kitchen had closed 20 mins before I arrived. However, she asked what I wanted, which was bread and olives. Nothing was too much trouble, and within 10 mins, it arrived. I sat next to the log burner whilst working and munching away. This is a lovely pub, and I look forward to popping in again when I'm next in the area

Sunday lunch today was great. Its so good to see this pub back on its feet. It had a bit of a blip after Gavin Heather and Sarah sold up. However 18 months on its new, new owners have turned it round and made it fabulous again. Great to have our 'local' back in good shape!!!! Great food, great staff - very happy 😊

So delighted that The White Horse Inn has reopened and is under new management. Lovely welcome from friendly publican and bar staff. Warm, congenial and open all day. Good selection of ale. Looking forward to coming to to eat in our lovely local.

What a disappointment .Have been here a few times, but it's changed and not for the better. When we arrived, my friend said it smelt funny when we walked in - stale/ musty,and it was very cold - she didn't even take her coat off! The choice of food was very poor. Yes, they did a special lunch time special menu, but like I say, 4 choices of the main meal and a choice of 2 deserts or icecream. I will say when the food arrived, it was hot and ok, nothing special. The staff were very polite and friendly but we wouldn't recommend it and will not visit again

Food was ok but not excellent, staff where very attentive and I couldn't fault them.

Visited last year and loved it. Management changed shortly after our visit and was worried the whole experience wouldn't be the same this year. I can honestly say this visit was excellent if not better. The food we had was delicious. We all chose steak and each one was cooked exactly as requested. The onion rings are pure perfection too. Nice selection of desserts. The service was brilliant and all the staff were very friendly. You will not be disappointed if you visit.

Have had a couple of lovely meals here over the years so was excited to book in for a birthday meal with my parents. We were so disappointed. The waitress was lovely but the menu was limited (scampi & chips and sausage & mash were considered specials!) and the food was just so ordinary. Everything we had, we could have ordered in Wetherspoons for half the price. There was nothing wrong with the cooking of the food but this place has had such a great reputation and it fell short of what we've experienced before. Sadly, we’ve crossed this place off the list of nice places to go out for dinner.

Really nice spot for a lunch and a pint in the sun. We ate from the lunch special menu, but were not offered the full menu, and had some really nice garlic mushroom starters. They have a good selection of beers and ciders too. It's a classic pub setting and great to visit

We had lunch there 30 /5 Waitress was brilliant , food not as good as the last time we went couple of monrhs ago, not alot of choice and very basic. The man behind counter was very grumpy when it came to paying bill , Definitely not going back

I have never not eaten a meal out. It was disgusting. Ordered the Nut Roast. Potatoes over cooked and limp, vegetable not cooked properly and tasteless, yorkshire puddings too large and tasteless, the nut roast ... god knows what that was, vile! Will defo never return nor recommend!

Disappointed as we have had much better food and service here before. Some items came cold and most of the meal was only Luke warm and as the service was slow.

Four of us met for dinner and drinks last Saturday evening. It was delicious food, really well cooked (those whitebait were to die for!) and nicely presented too. A cosy pub with a good selection of beers/drinks and service with a smile. Definitely going back!

I wanted to try something new outside Taunton. Really great rural village pub. The staff were friendly. The food was well presented, tasted great and just the right amount. (some mains have a smaller option too) All at a reasonable price.

Dropped in on a Friday lunchtime and luckily got a table. Lunch was great sandwich and ploughman’s. Very friendly and prompt service even though they were very busy.

The pub itself is lovely, however the food wasn’t the greatest unfortunately. We’ve been going for years and, although we were a big group, the veg was basically veg that had been unfrozen and not cooked properly and the meat wasn’t very good. The desserts weren’t great either. The one thing that was delicious was the gluten free nut roast! We definitely have that again! Overall, we were a bit disappointed as this was our family Christmas meal! Despite this, the staff was great and made it the best they could! Hospitality 10/10!

Only stopped in for drinks, but the food looked and smelled so good as it was taken past us time and time again! Really lovely staff and a great atmosphere...... we are DEFINITELY coming back to try the food.

Went to the White Horse early afternoon and found it closed. On Saturdays they open at five. I suppose one must expect that nowadays. The chef here has a good reputation (ex Winchester, Trull). I understand that there will be a change of management at this pub.

We love this venue and have used it for large and small parties. It is a free house, set in a sleepy West Somerset village and is one of the better places to meet friends for lunch or an evening meal, or perhaps just a pint or two. The food is top quality and the real ales are beautifully cared for. Just make sure you arrive in good time as its popularity can make parking a little difficult!

Dropped in for Tuesday lunch and the food was excellent! Also caught a glimpse of the local Peacock strolling down the road.

Amazing! We were in a holiday let down the road and the owner recommended here. There was 11 of us with noisy kids too (sorry about that) Food was absolutely fantastic, I had 10 oz rump and at £19 for this area I thought was great price. I had some local ale again price was great for the area. Staff were absolutely flawless, we did tip as they were so good. If we are ever back in the area I will definitely be going back here. You will not go wrong going here for a meal.

The White Horse is everything a village pub should be. Gavin, Heather and their amazing team ensure that service is ultra friendly and efficient every time. The food is outstanding, the beer is excellent and reasonably priced and the lovely garden is the place to be in the summer. The way in which Gavin and Heather have assisted the local community during Covid continues to be appreciated by many in the village. Such a shame we live so far away, but we're greatly looking forward to our next visit......

As a vegan staying with friends in Wiveliscombe, we were looking for a pub that offered a menu for all of us. We were not disappointed. On the evening menu there were 2 options for me and I opted for the parsnip, kale, cashew nut roast in a mushroom sauce. It came with green beans, roasted cherry tomatoes and a choice of either new potatoes or chips. I chose the potatoes and my friend the chips. The meal was an ample portion, beautifully presented, hot, and incredibly tasty. My other friend enjoyed the chicken Kiev and said it was also delicious. The staff were efficient, knowledgable and friendly. We ate inside and I was pleased to see there was still plenty of space between the tables. I will definitely return when I’m next staying in the area.

10 minutes from where I live and I now find myself asking why it's taking me so long to come to this fabulous pub!!! Lovely outside beer garden with plenty of shaded tables. Booked for the Sunday roast and so glad I did as it was beautiful. My husband and I had roast lamb (don't see that on many menus these days) which was cooked perfectly and plenty of it. Came on the plate with tasty homemade potatoes and stuffing (we paid an extra 50p for a huge homemade yorkshire pudding) with gravy on top. Had a side of broccoli cheese and a side of fresh mixed carrots, beans, cabbage and peas with an extra jug of gravy. Was all cooked perfectly and great value (think it was £12.95pp). Staff were really friendly and attentive. Very clean throughout. Highly recommend and will certainly be going back soon. Make sure you book as it gets busy.

Very slow service. The food was OK. But nothing special about it. Very slow and 1 waitress quite unfriendly, polite but not nice.

A traditional village pub that really delivers on all fronts. Friendly service, a great range of real ales, beers, wines and spirits and the food was…amazing! We had the (homemade) chicken and chorizo Kyiv and the veggie burger and both were outstanding. The beer garden is lovely too. There’s great walks nearby too by the river. Visit!!
