We came here for a family dinner for the first time in years! Lovely welcoming atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and reasonably priced. Will definitely return!

Right next to the river Thames and near to the end of the once a year Boat Race. Benches are available both inside and down by the river which is lovely on a sunny day.

I hadn't eaten at the White Hart for several years, but I heard it was under new management and had improved. I wasn't disappointed, great menu and the food was delicious. I can particularly recommend the flat iron steak, beautiful medium rare! It was a really busy Monday night, staff were all charming and friendly. They provided table service, but i don't expect that, I'm happy to go to the bar to order food. Thank you!

A relaxing atmosphere, uplifting and hard-working staff, a beautiful view and an absolutely incredible dinner. Didier looked after us from start to finish, he was very attentive and made recommendations that we did go for: the local steak and lamb rump; the best we've ever had in a pub! To finish the wonderful night off, we had a delicious cocktail and sat outside watching the view. Coming back next month for my parents anniversary, we cannot wait!

This has been a favourite place of mine for many years. Can never complain about any visit. Lovely spot for a few drinks or a bit to eat right by the river. Staff are amazing and go above and beyond hospitality service to make you feel welcome and relaxed. Sat at a nice table on the first floor veranda and had the native lobster and prawn eggs benedict which was superb.

What a great building sat on the side of the river, presuming it's always been a pub. Friendly staff and a great menu, can recommend the flatbread and bacon, one of those "I could eat that again" dishes.

Definitely tried to squeeze too many tables onto the terrace but the apple crumble and rosè make it worth it

Went to the White Hart for lunch! No reservation but was greeted straight away and seated very quickly. I ordered the Day Boat Catch Sea Trout and it was absolutely delicious. Our server, Andreja, was attentive and friendly and she’s catered to our every request. Would 100% recommend a visit.

The food was lovely and well presented. For what you pay it is worth it. The views are also very beautiful outside especially if it is warm. The staff were also very friendly and approachable. I would come again.

Best pub I’ve ever been to, with fantastic staff such as AK & Oli. Been going since the beginning of ‘23 and the staff remember details about you, really attentive. First class roast dinners too! Can’t forget to mention outstanding view of Barnes Bridge as well.

Rocky provided exceptional service during our visit at White Hart. She was prompt, courteous, friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our experience enjoyable. We would gladly return knowing we'll receive such excellent service again.

The food was very bad for a gastro pub. The roast beef and the potatoes were disgusting and oily. Unfortunately not at all a great experice. Furthermore, it is expensive for what it is. I will not be retuning to the pub.

White hart I will be coming again! Rory poured an excellent pint, one of the best I've had in a long time. Stuart's service was prompt and attentive, making the meal all the more pleasant. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were friendly. Definitely a place worth checking out for good drinks and solid service. The river views added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

Slightly too eagerly asked by several different waitresses, and waiters if we wanted to order our food having just sat down & told them we were still deciding. The mains were then brought out before the starter of white bait, which seemed rather thoughtless. The burgers were okay, but to be fair the white bait was excellent. Nice venue, but I probably wouldn’t return for anything other than a drink in the future.

I like this place enormously. It has a unique location directly on the River Thames and we just held a birthday celebration in their beautiful Morley Room upstairs which offers an instantly comfortable atmosphere and gorgeous views with its own balcony. The drinks were excellent and the food outstanding, but what earns Stuart and his staff my unending thanks is just how friendly, helpful, and welcoming they all are. I really have no hesitation in recommending The White Hart Barnes, be it for a drink in the sun, a leisurely lunch, or an event to mark your own special occasion.

Such a wonderful place! We had a beautiful evening here this week, great food, very kind and attentive staff. As a bonus, you can rely on watching a magnificent sunset from your seat. We are local, so we are biased, but even if I won the lottery, I would want to bring my family here for the evening. Thank you!

Fantastic spot on the river with a wonderful atmosphere. Excellent selection of beers and wines and the food, from the catch of the day fish dished to the lamb rump, were amazing! The friendly and good natured staff made the experience even better - will be going back soon!

We held a wake here in the Morley room upstairs at the White Hart. Stuart and his team created a very positive and memorable experience for me and my family. Lots of our guests said how delicious the food was and the team were so responsive to our needs. The biggest take-out was just how kind and sensitive the team members were, in what was an emotional time for us. Really appreciated! Thank you.

The atmosphere was a highlight – it was nice and buzzing, with a lively crowd that made for a great ambiance. However, the service was quite slow, which was a bit frustrating. We waited a while to place our orders and even longer for the food to arrive. When it did, the presentation was impressive and looked very appetizing. Unfortunately, the flavors didn’t quite match up. The taste was just average and didn’t live up to the expectations set by the appearance. Additionally, I found the prices to be a bit steep for what was offered. While I understand weekends can be hectic, I hoped for a better overall experience for the price. Overall, it was an okay visit. The atmosphere might bring me back, but I hope for improvements in service and food quality next time.

It's a beautiful pub. in a great location. It is very clear that it is visited by the most fortunate in society, so you can enjoy not only the atmosphere but the class and elegance of the people around you. The food is your average pub food, not bad, but also not special. It you are lucky enough, you can get a table on the balcony, so you will have the best of the outside and inside od the pub.

Wow, what an excellent new restaurant in the village. The customer service is amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Great tasty food that offers value for money. They have only just opened after a sympathetic refurbishment that’s been tastefully carried out. I’m sure they will be a great success and we will certainly be coming back.

Stuart looked after us for my birthday brilliantly, not at all onerous and came up and checked on our party to make sure we had all we needed, even moving us when the weather changed outside. Food was delicious too

Came in with some friends and a 1 year old for lunch on a Sunday. Despite ordering one in advance, there was no highchair available so I fed the little one in her pram. One eventually came free. Our drinks order was wrong (missing drinks) and turned up in 3 batches. Our food order was taken promptly but we were then told they had run out of fish and chips which most of us had ordered. Slightly surprised as it was 1.30… so we reordered, going for the burger. This then took well over 40 minutes to arrive and was lukewarm and overly salty. Service wasn’t unpleasant but was very haphazard, came across as inexperienced. Won’t be returning which is a shame as it’s a beautiful pub.

We celebrated my granddaughter Ana's first communion, the food was very good and abundant. The varied salads, the hamburger and the fish were very well prepared and good material. Correct service and pleasant place with views of the Thames.

Visit this pub regularly and we’re never let down by the service or atmosphere. Great pub, great location. Get along for a few brews. You wont regret it.

When food eventually arrived it was good. Service poor and pub ran out of bread at lunch service!!

Food wasn't bad. Had a roast. Potatoes and veg were decent. The chicken should have probably been marinated and 'pierced' for the flavour to sink in deep into the meat as it was light on flavour. The gravy was very nice, though. My friend ordered the steak and he enjoyed it. Dessert was tasty (sticky toffee pudding for me, friend had the posset). Food service was also good and prompt. Didn't have to wait long at all. Went around lunchtime. Just a tip - if work at the bar and you have a black person visit and you want the wait staff to pass them their drinks order, probably best not to describe them as 'the one with the hair' (no, I did not mishear, I just pretended not to hear). This was a young person as well. You know, that sort of comment might come off a bit... ignorant/backward. It's London. I understand if people are new to the city and come from small towns with parochial outlooks, but that's not what London is about. It's definitely not cool in a service job. Customers should feel comfortable and not judged. Every other staff member we encountered was nice/grown up. Anyway... The place itself is attractive inside and it has quite a laid back/relaxed whilst also feeling vibrant, if that's not too contradictory. Great location by the river. Looked as if the view might have been nice, so I'd aim for a seat overlooking the thames, if you can.

I met the lovely Max and Remy. Their customer service is above and beyond honestly I should of left this review last Saturday and I came back today getting the same amazing service. Considering I found out they were both new I wanted to give them a great review as they totally deserve it. Professional and friendly attention to detail and wanting to help. Came in for a few drinks yesterday with some friends and had a great time. I believe our bartender was called Nell, she was very welcoming and I enjoyed her stories as she poured our drinks. Lovely staff

Reservation was easy and smooth. The served salmon instead of sea trout without saying anything. Food was a bit scanty and expensive. We think they forgot about the desserts so we were waiting quite a while.

Absolutely lovely pub for a bank holiday lunch. Group of four people and a baby. We all loved our food and the service and view were fabulous. Looking forward to our next visit.

We visit White Hart every Thursday with my son, and it's always a pleasant experience. Rocky, one of the staff members, is consistently welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is friendly, making it a great place for family visits. The burgers and chips are excellent. I would certainly recommend a visit if you're looking for quality food and especially service.

The white Hart pub is a lovely little hide away, quite busy on the weekends but such a nice place for a catch up and some drinks and food. DEFINITELY recommend the corn on the cob in chicken butter recommended by the wonderful Stuart! most definitely coming back a lot!!!

Went to Hawksmoor last week and the food here was (hugely unexpectedly) better. Do the lamb. You 100 won’t regret it!

What an absolute gem of a place I visited on my last two trips to Barnes! The views across the river are to die for but moreover my experience on both visits was made more than enjoyable by the friendly staff and excellent quality food! Nothing was too much trouble and it wasn't hard to see that this was a well run organised business. Will certainly be visiting again soon.

Second time here. First time was ok, however waited over 1 hour for food. Very unprofessional staff, especially manager. No eye contact, rude showing no attention to visitors. Despite seeing new guests, he was ignoring anyone coming in and continuing to watch his monitor. Staff despite his ignorance was also not helping. The inside smells like old factory kitchen. If you want dirty place, slow kitchen and rude staff - as they say, it's "the best bar in Barnes or may be in the whole world"

We dined here for lunch yesterday afternoon. We arrived and did not have a booking, however an extremely hospitable server named Didier look after us. He went to the trouble of moving a table from the inside of the pub, out onto the balcony for us to have food and enjoy the beautiful views of the Thames. His service was the standout feature here. He went above and beyond to ensure that he could cater to our needs as far as possible. We were here for a special occasion and both ate the trout, which was very tasty! Reasonably priced at £19.50. I've been to this place a few times before and it is a great pub. Beautiful interiors, dog friendly and stunning views of the river.

The atmosphere was incredible! Didier made our experience out of this world! I arrived at just before 11 but he ensured that we were well accommodated from when they opened! I understand we came a bit earlier than their opening times, but they provided us the best seating, food options and drinks for our wonderful spring Saturday! Would definitely return soon!

Really enjoyed my trip to the white hart, it was packed because of the boat race but didn't have to wait for a drink and there was a very noticeable security presence which I'm sure everyone was happy about.

waited half an hour to get my order and the food and drinks came too late. They do not know how to manage a pub, the manager is rude and doesn’t know how to treat their staff properly, I can tell some staff are new and they are expected to know everything on their first day, they use and abuse youngsters, what crookery!!!! training must be poor, I overheard a manager yelling at their staff member and I asked for the bill and left!!! The staff were very friendly to my children but I don’t see myself coming back soon. Extremely strange vibes from this place.

Nice food, with friendly but slightly disorganised service. What spoils it is the unnecessary booming bass beat music that we had to endure for our lunch.

Had supper here on Easter Thursday at 7pm. There were only a few other people eating, mostly people drinking which creates a very different atmosphere. We waited a long time for the food to arrive and then the starters and main course arrived together without any plan to address this. We didn’t eat the starters and had them removed from the bill. Fish batter for fish and chips option wasn't cooked properly. Very chaotic service and disappointing experience.

Had a lovely dinner and drinks at the White Hart with friends. It was a busy afternoon and the staff were working hard, yet still couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a nice time. The manager made excellent cocktails.

We had a pretty poor experience here, all the other reviews are so good that I’m not really sure what happened. We made a reservation to go on a Sunday afternoon for a roast, when we arrived it too a long time to find a member of staff to seat us. We were then seated but given no menus, we got up to find some menus and were questioned rudely by the manager. No one came to our table to take our order either, we had to go and find someone to take it after about 20 minutes. We ordered roast dinners but were then told they had none left, we ordered a bottle of wine and were given one wine glass and one gin glass by the manager and were told that there were no more actual wine glasses left, despite being able to see plenty of dirty ones around the bar area that hadn’t been washed. After the meal we tried to order dessert but there were no staff members actually attending to the tables, and so we had to track someone down, at which point we were told they were out of some of the desert items too. We asked for the bill and the manager really rudely threw the bill on the table. Honestly so disappointing after seeing so many good reviews, I can totally sympathise with a restaurant being busy and overwhelmed, but rudeness and a total lack of interest from the staff made us feel really uncomfortable, let alone the fact that they essentially weren’t able to serve half their menu. Everything we asked for was responded to as if it were a chore, or was forgotten and never brought, the food we were able to order was lovely but the experience was ruined by the very poor service.

Just dropped in for a beer and my wife had a cappuccino which she described as the best one for a long time.

Local pub, heard it’s great for a roast. We normally go for a drink on the terrace, also allow you to get takeaway drinks and sit on the benches below (as long as it’s not high tide). Best in summer

We had food here. Portions are miniscule, but they taste good. I don't recommend it if you're hungry and like a good size portion. The salmon dish especially was just a small bit of salmon with some garnish. It was more like a starter than a main meal. Same with the beetroot wellington, very small. Staff kept disappearing so it took a while to order drinks at the bar or to be able to pay the bill at the end.

Parents went here over the weekend and found this to be a lovely place. They were over in the area and found this place out of chance and went in for lunch. They found the pub was lovely with a lovely atmosphere. They found seating was comfortable and had a good lunch menu. Service was excellent aswell as food and drinks. They really enjoyed it and would happily come back and would love to come back in an evening to check the atmosphere and menu for then.
