This pub has so much daylight coming in, it feels so light, and with lovely riverside seats, it's the perfect place for a summer drink! The staff are lovely, both the bar staff and waiters and waitresses. The food is lovely too! Would highly recommend

Went for Mother’s Day, they did a great job of finding us a table when we realised we had booked for the wrong day. The roasts were great but the lentil stew dish was awful, bland and tasteless ! One of the worst pub meals I have ever had, couldn’t even eat it . Shame as everything else was lovely and staff were great

Absolutely love this place. The setting is gorgeous and right on the river Thames. The service was friendly and professional. The food was excellent as well. We had the ox cheek, the chicken milanese and the skate wing. All we well-prepared. I felt the skate wing dish needed a bit more deliciousness -- the "red butter" sauce was bland, as was the kale side. Something more "fresh" like a fennel salad or something with fresh herbs. Banana bread dessert was delicious, but I'd get the caramel sauce on the side so as no to overpower the banana bread. Coffees were great. Overall, loved it and will definitely go back whenever I got to Barnes.

I popped into The White Hart on a Friday afternoon to book a table for the final round of the Six Nations on Saturday, and they accommodated the booking without any hassle. They set us up upstairs in the restaurant with a fantastic view over the river—right in front of the TV, perfect for watching the games. The service was absolutely top-notch, with a special mention to AK, who made sure everything ran smoothly. All the staff were incredibly nice and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was superb, and the overall experience was fantastic. Whether you’re after a few beers, a great meal, or just a stunning location to enjoy the day, The White Hart delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!

I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a phenomenal Sunday roast at this gem of a pub. The food was nothing short of spectacular—perfectly pink beef and succulent pork, both cooked to perfection, with all the delicious trimmings. The Yorkshire puddings were crisp yet fluffy, and the sides were just as impressive. To top it off, the pudding selection was divine. The lemon tart was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, while the crumble was pure comfort in a bowl. The wine selection was equally impressive, with the Lady A Rosé standing out as our blush of choice. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was the outstanding service. A huge shoutout to Andreja and Jack, who were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Their recommendations and hospitality took the entire experience to the next level. If you're looking for a top-tier roast with exceptional food, wine, and service, this is the place to go. Can’t wait to return!

Excellent pub, lovely staff, love going here as often as possible! Specifically, I went with my brother and his young family on Sunday 9th March and my niece ordered chicken which came very salty so she couldn't eat it. I checked and it was super salty, so I mentioned this to one of the waiters and they were kind enough to understand that as we had all finished our mains, the little one wouldn't want another main, so they offered us a free child dessert instead. Then they came and apologised, having checked the chicken themselves, and offered us money off the bill too! Lovely people, great pub, vey happy as always.

This pub is a wow factor! The food was amazing! We came in, and they managed to find room luckily as we stupidly didn’t book. The manager Stuart who greeted us was warm and very friendly. When we grabbed a drink from the bar, the guy who served us Adam was nothing but a joy to talk to. We didn’t know what to drink and he made us the best bloody Mary’s. We were sat down upstairs, our server named AK answered every question we had about the menu with a smile. The roast chicken was beautiful, and the beef was a gorgeous ruby red. My mum fell in love with the pork belly, so soft but with the best crackling on top. We all finished off with a banana bread and are very glad we went for the dessert. We will definitely be back!

Great view, awful food. Had to send back a number of the dishes we ordered most food was inedible Staff tried to help and ended up taking all the meals off the bill Also no soap in the toilets even after we asked 2 different people. Since they have replied I thought I’d add some more details as I’m shocked that this is just “the way they do things” The cauliflower croquettes we ordered were greasy and with no filling, when we sent them back we were then brought them back to the table saying the chef said they were meant to be like that. We ordered one beef, one chicken and 2 veggie roasts, they had all clearly been reheated and were dreadfully seasoned to the point that there was so much black pepper on top of it that the chicken was inedible and we had to ask for fresh order of trimmings. The Yorkshire puddings were flat and must’ve been sitting out for hours. The puy lentil dish we had was bland and tasteless. The Waldorf salad was also awful, the one saving grace was the beetroot tart starter was pretty good. The staff tried to help but not much could be done at this point and I was grateful that the took the main dishes off the bill.

The menu is fancy but the food doesn't live up to it - at least not on a Monday night. Also it would be great if the large glazed doors on the riverside could be draught-proofed. Sitting beside them on a chilly night is not particularly comfortable and it isn't always possible to move. I haven't rated the atmosphere because as we all know that changes during the week and it depends on which day/night you go.

We came here for a friend's birthday lunch. Table was really nice and staff were really attentive. When we were ordering we were told that die to a function upstairs food may take a bit longer which didn't bother us at all. I ordered fish and chips, unfortunately it was so over cooked the batter was rock solid, chips were hard and inedible! We let the staff know who apologised and said they would take it off the bill, but didn't offer any alternative to eat. When we asked for the desert menu we were told that there was no deserts left, except 1 ice cream. When it was delivered to the table it was the smallest portion I've ever seen. The staff were great throughout however had we known that the food would be of low quality or non existent when it came to deserts we would've booked somewhere else.

Stuart couldn't have been more helpful with booking a big table/3(!) for birthday drinks at The White Hart. It was brilliant to find a pub that was so flexible and accommodating with a large booking, especially near Christmas! I had to pay a deposit (which was swiftly returned), but there was no need to book an entire room out, or pay ahead for 'xmas canapés', or expectation that everyone would order food (which seemed to be the case for other local pubs!). The pub even provided crackers for us, which was a lovely extra! Perfect place for relaxed birthday drinks, would definitely consider to book again in the future!

We were there on a midweek afternoon, but there were still smatterings of people about enjoying their meal (which I must admit looked pretty impressive). The ground floor is all pub - but classy. An island bar commands the room and the staff were excellent all afternoon: cheerful, helpful and provided a few laughs as well. There was an upstairs area as well with it's own bar for functions or a more private occasion if you wish. Both floors have narrow balconies and these must be wonderful on a nice summer's day. There is an outside area on the same level as the ground floor with some tables undercover, but with a total unrestricted view of the river and, of course, Barnes Bridge. And then if there's still too many people, that are picnic type tables right on the river's bank. Enjoy it, it is truly a lovely place to spend an afternoon. My friend was complimentary of the Young's on tap and the Guinness was excellent.

We were concerned to learn that this pub with accommodation had closed but delighted it has reopened. Our third one night stay for B and B as we dine in the evening at the nearby Italian restaurant, Berto's. The White Hart offers exceptional Sunday/ mid week value and our premier room #3 is spacious, clean and comfortable. Decent loo roll! It's the little things that count. On the other hand, the en suite door sticks. Has housekeeping informed management? Lighting is low and difficult to read by and curiously there is only one bedside lamp. Maybe somebody nicked the other one. Then again there is a wonderful public lounge with very comfortable sofas and chairs. A cosy log fire. A counter divides the lounge from the popular public bar. This is a very pleasant pub with accommodation and a perfect base for exploring the glorious Devon countryside and delightful town of Moretonhampstead. Breakfast is very good offering the usual stuff and perfectly cooked eggs. Once again as with the loo rolls, decent paper napkins. We shall return for our next visit to Berto's, the wonderful little Italian which, dear reader, is also a BYO. Doggy friendly, as is the White Hart. Everyone is happy. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

The ambiance was cozy yet lively, just the perfect setting for a memorable evening with friends... and our dog Mushu, of course! Speaking of Mushu, the staff went above and beyond to make sure he felt just as welcomed as we did. Andrea, our incredible waitress, immediately greeted us with a smile and asked if we'd like a bowl of water for Mushu. She even brought him a few dog treats to keep him entertained while we enjoyed our meal. It’s rare to find a place that treats your four-legged companion with the same level of care and attention, and we were so grateful for that extra touch. Now, the food. Oh, the food! We ordered the steak, and it arrived cooked to perfection – juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Paired with a couple of perfectly poured pints of ale, it was a match made in pub heaven. The richness of the steak was complemented by the smoothness of the beer, making each bite and sip more enjoyable than the last. And then, the dessert. The brown with caramel ice cream was a revelation. Warm, comforting, and decadently sweet, it was the kind of dessert that makes you want to savor every spoonful and never let it end. The caramel was just the right balance of rich and sweet, with a hint of salty goodness that made it unforgettable. But it wasn’t just the food and drink that made this evening special – it was Andrea. Her warmth, attentiveness, and infectious enthusiasm made the night feel like a celebration. By the time we were leaving, we felt like we’d made a friend, not just a memory. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by this extraordinary pub. With food this good, pints this perfectly poured, and a service that feels like home – and the love they show your furry companions – you’re guaranteed an experience that will leave you smiling long after you’ve finished your last bite. Huge thanks to Andrea and the entire team for making this night one we’ll never forget!

Popped into The Wellington situated in the centre of the village with ample parking at rear. Inside is a traditional style pub with seperate areas for pool and dining. There is a log fire for extra warmth. The staff are both welcoming and helpful. The menu had a large variety of choice and the food was delicious to the point we have booked for a return visit. Outside there is a lit covered area as well as a beer garden. Overall definitely recommended for both a drink and for food

We are local to Dawlish and had family staying at Cofton. A table was booked for 6 people for 6pm. Originally, we were sat inside but decided to move outside as it was a sunny evening and we had dog with us. Big mistake as we were forgotten about despite asking to order twice. 40 minutes later, the waitress came out for our order and then advised us that there was at least an hour wait for food. It was then that we decided to give up and go elsewhere. The waiting staff were clearly stressed and I realise that it wasn’t their fault, just terrible organisation. Come on Cofton, you can do better
