New owner is great. Lovely food, Lovely atmosphere. If I can recommend a meal or two Just look at the menu. Tried Most of them just few left to go. Mind you the Chicken dishes are very nice, but so are the Lamb dishes, Cold Mezze, hot mezze and the fish to name a few of my favourites. Not small plates either.

Came with friends and had a great time. A real pub. Came with our dogs and they were welcomed. Good selection of local ales and snacks behind the bar too. Nice outside area with plenty of seats.

I have never felt so unwelcome in a pub ever! It is clearly a locals pub. The landlady was rude when we arrived and said there were no tables as we had dogs with us. I explained I had phoned up and booked and mentioned the dogs and they had our booking. We were told as there were people eating we would have to be very careful with the dogs and offered a table away from everyone else. I felt completely humiliated. The menu was limited and very cheap and the food poor standard but edible. To be fair the young lady behind the bar was embarrassed and was quite attentive but I certainly would not recommend this pub for food with or without a dog!

Stopped here after visiting the Army Flying museum. Just reopened after lockdown and provided a very good value pub lunch. Although it was still quiet the service was good and very friendly. Only five minutes away from the museum so very convenient.

Found this place open after several other establishments were closed. Kitchen not open so enjoyed several packets of crisps and nuts. Tried two different zero alcohol beers and whiled away several hours catching up with an old friend.

There is no pretence here.....good honest traditional pub with a friendly welcome, great beers and no nonsense food. Homemade curries and chilli were very good indeed, and extremely reasonably priced by todays standards. Will definitely be coming back.

The lunch menu is limited but cheap, so that's okay. My microwaved potato was nuked beyond being able to cut it and the prawns were a little chewy. However when we asked for an extra spoon to go with the desert, we were told 'well you'll have to get it yourself'. And when my wife asked for real milk with her coffee (rather than those ghastly little plastic things) the lady sighed deeply and said 'you might have said that the first time, I'll have to go back to the kitchen again, are you sure there's nothing else you want?' But hey the sun was shining and it gave us a good laugh. Next time we pass through The Wallops we'll bring the picnic basket, at least we don't have to pay to be rude to each other!

We booked a table on the busy Trout ‘n About Sunday, also as a part of my birthday celebrations. Despite being busy, the service was good and attentive. The lunch was great and lots of it! We shall return!

My wife and I stayed at the White Hart and we were pleasantly surprised. It was not known as being very good in the past but with the refurbishment and management team, it is was a terrific experience and we will be staying there again. The staff friendly but professional and the accommodation was first rate. We only booked it because we could not get in to it’s sister hotel, the Cromwell Arms in Romsey. The food was really good. I could go on but take my word for it, Excellent all round. Stayed: April 2018, travelled as a couple

We booked into this pub with 15 family members for a family meal in the function room with an over night stay. Fantastic...Can’t fault the service or food the rooms are lovely and clean and well laid out. Nothing was to much trouble and the family were well catered for! We will definitely be visiting again and we will arrange another family visit. Thanks to Paul and the team for a brilliant stay! 5*

Went for our departmental Christmas meal (7 of us) I know that when catering for major occasions and high quantity of customers such as Christmas, Mothering Sunday, Easter etc. can be hard and you cannot expect the same standard as a normal occasion. However this meal was over cooked and then kept warm ( I am not sure why it was kept warm as we were waiting for it to be served). the starter was average but the main meal of roast turkey was to say the least appalling, the turkey was in wood chip size pieces and was so dry it could of been used for kindling, the potatoes and parsnips had sat in the gravy so long (yes the whole meal came on one plate pre-served with gravy on - very your Grans) that they were soggy, the cauliflower cheese had a skin on it from being kept warm and the sprouts were dry on top and normal in the gravy. Cheese board for desert was very good - praise when deserved would not recommend for major day meals - such as Christmas, Mothering Sunday, Easter etc.

My friend brought me here as a surprise and treat, and what a treat it was too. We received a warm friendly welcome where we were shown to our table and our drinks order taken. I chose the Buffalo Lasagne, which was very tasty indeed, my only complaint would be that there wasn't enough of it. I had the apple & almond crumble with custard for dessert and oh my that was well worth the £7 that it cost. Would I eat here again or recomend it to a friend..... Yes I would

Visited here for lunch and what a lovely location. Prices here are very reasonable and the landlord and lady are very friendly and full of character. Food/menu is basic but fills a hole. A traditional British pub. Look out for the gnomes in the garden!

Not the most friendliest of pubs, including the landlady behind the bar! Order took longer than expected, we only ordered toasted sandwiches and there were only a few other people in for food (which they were already served!). If you like oldey worldly, this is the place for you, it's very dated. Food was nice enough, the 'salad garnish' the toasties came with consisted of a quarter of a tomato and a small lump of cress. Will not be going back!

There seems to be some confusion on TA about this lovely old thatched pub and another with the same name in Stockbridge itself (latter is a Fullers pub). This White Hart is in the village of Over Wallop and is quite unspoiled and traditional. We were warmly greeted by the owners and it felt like we were walking into their front room. The pub has low beams and fireplaces and the garden is a delight with flowering baskets and a pair of stocks. Don't come here if you want a gastropub - do come if you want some basic, reasonably priced food for lunch (gammon and chips, jackets, ploughmans etc), peace and quiet in a lovely Hampshire village and a real slice of Olde England. We had fried eggs and both were doubled yolked and no doubt fresh from the chickens we could hear in the back garden. Highly recommended.

Recently visited with some friends, I haven't been here before but loved it. The service was exceptional!!!! All the waitresses were so attentive and friendly in particular a young brunette girl and an older lady with short hair who was wearing a pinny. We even got advised to go careful when leaving as it had been sleeting when we were having our meal. The food was presented very well and was delicious!! Definitely will be back.

There was a live band on when we went, good atmosphere even if the music was not to our taste. There is a varied menu, with an ample specials board too.

We dropped in on our way home at 1pm on Sunday after a weekend away and had no reservation. However they quickly found us the last table, in the quieter area towards the rear. The pub was very dbusy with drinkers and eaters. Our waitress soon got our drinks, including my favourite London Pride bitter (it is a Fullers pub) and we ordered. Two had the smaller versions of the Sunday roast which was a nice idea for smaller appetites, and the rest had the full sized roasts. They came fairly quickly, with side dishes of assorted vegetables. Great gravy. Empty plates all round. Our waitress cleared and two of us ordered desserts, and waited.. Eventually we asked and the desserts came immediately with profuse apologies due to how busy they were. Without any prompting, they very kindly deducted 20% from the whole bill, which was a lovely gesture and we did appreciate it. Good honest food, good beer and very friendly waitresses. We will drop in again when we are in the area. Thanks.

This is a country pub worth a visit with very friendly staff and locals. It as a good menu to choose from and a wide variety of ales. They only serve meals at lunch and Friday evenings (closed Thursday). I'm told that Freds' curry is really something to try if you like it hot, I had the gammon last time I went in and it was v.good, in all my 66 years I've never had one so big I struggled to finish it.
