Great pub clean tidy .Very busy and the staff were really polite even when they was rushed off their feet. Love the idea of a games and books area to keep the little ones entertained even things for the adults too . Lovely pub

Food has been cooked to perfection, lovely customer service. I believe it may of been Jemma that cooked and the other staff delivered with perfect customer service. Will be back again!!

Comfortable atmosphere, disabled friendly, staff pleasant. Buttermilk chicken, bacon and mayo ciabatta with rosemary sea salted fries was really fresh and tasty. Thank you.

The burger with the BBQ pulled bork is absolutely stunning, been back a few times to get it, big mention to the girls in the kitchen making the loveliest food, would recommend anyone and their family to come here. Will definitely be returning soon.

Ordered roast dinner and it was disgusting. Vegetables were undercooked. Turkey was mushy. Aneamic roast potatoes. Rock solid stuffing. I could not eat it and waited for a member of staff to come over to ask if everything was OK so I could say how bad it was but this didn't happen. So I left my dinner and it took an hour for them to collect my plate and they didn't even ask if everything was OK or make eye contact. Sidenote: Most of the menu was out of stock and the pub was pretty empty and cold. I will not be coming back here to watch the football and have dinner again.

My partner wanted to pop in for a quick glass of wine. She gave me a hug at the bar and the barstaff immediately started talking about us and pointing fingers. Confused my partner ask what is the matter? They said I looked drunk so we're contemplating whether to serve us. That's when I said I am not drinking because I have work. They then kept talking between themselves and still pointing fingers at us? 10 minutes later they came out with the glass of wine. My partner confronted the manager which apologised however the deed was done Never be going there again . Shocking service.

Oh dear !! For a National pub chain this is woefully short of the levels of acceptability . The staff are struggling to keep this place alive . This reflects exceedingly poor Area Management and Central management from Bury St Edmunds head office . Where do you start . Selection of drinks in short supply “cos the delivery hasn’t come today “ Food delays cos there’s only one fryer working in the kitchen so food prep limited Tables dirty so we offered to clean - “ cleaner told me she’d done them “ “Not sure where the ice buckets are “ Even hand soap dispensers in men’s and ladies toilets were both empty. Toilets are disgusting and in poor state of repair . Apparently they haven’t had Fish and Chips on the menu since 26 May 2024 as it never gets delivered !!! What ???? All these issues are management of the pub and involve to a great extent investment . That then tells you something how they are running Greene King pubs these days . Swerve this place . I’m sorry to say this . We came away feeling we should be compensated for patronising the place . By the way we spent over £200 with friends so we should be regarded with respect . We wish .

Great pub! Sophie is an absolute diamond! Sorted the pool out for us and is on her A game 24/7. Give the girl a pay rise instantly for her hard work and dedication. Legend!!!

Oh my god. The worst meal I have EVER had. The children's burger was so stale and hard we couldn't cut through it with a knife! The beans had been nuked so much they were like bullets. Garlic bread was stale you could barely bite through it and the mash again had been nuked in the microwave it had gone all crispy... My 3 year old and baby who usually eat anything didn't even touch it and that's saying something. My chicken and chips again were so stale and tasteless. Items were forgotten and whne I asked about them I was asked to pay... I already had. Even the brownie desert was stale, how does that even happen? Dont waste your money. I spent £32 and feel totally robbed. The staff must know how vile the food is as they didn't even ask if everything was okay.. Had they then I would have told them. AVOID. Tip to the manager... Teach the chef how to cook and bin the overused microwave.

I took advantage of the senior 3 course meal. 3 days in one week. The first day was great. Adequate size portions and fast and friendly service. The second day the service was slower but staff apologised for the wait. The food was ok but smaller portions. The third day after ordering we were told our choice was unavailable so ordered the Scampi. Waited 35 minutes for the first course and when it came ,sent it back. Dressed salad garnish was 3 undressed rather tired looking lettuce leaves 3 tiny chicken strips and no dipping sauce.We were told it didn't come with the sauce we ordered. It came back looking as it should. Scampi came in good time and I guess 5 pieces is ok for a senior meal. Piping hot too. The Pudding was on time and tasty if a little over chocolate sauced. I think they were trying to make up for the salad.

Ate round there early evening today,limited choices,no cheese or eggs,food delivered was substandard,unlike this establishment in the past.you need to up your game!

Love this pub! It has a fantastic, friendly atmosphere - the staff and regulars are wonderful. Great beer too. Highly recommend!

The toilet are dirty and not clean toilet paper are on the floor and glass has not been picked up and messy place untidy counter

This pub has had some brilliant things on over Christmas, my daughter really enjoyed the breakfast with Santa it was lovely. The food is always lovely, good portion sizes for the value! Some lovely staff. We really enjoy spending time in this pub

Our group of 5 had pre-booked the 4 course Christmas Day menu. We paid a deposit and submitted our food orders weeks in advance. The staff were friendly and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Our overall experience was unfortunately very bad. We waited almost an hour for starters and then (due to some kitchen issue) we waited almost another 2 hours for the mains to arrive. The turkey portion was tiny. We'd had enough of waiting by this point so decided to skip dessert and just get the bill. The front of house staff did their best and were friendly and helpful throughout. Unfortunately we shall not be booking our Christmas meal here again. At £54 pp (excl drinks) it is very expensive for the amount and quality of food you actually get.

We chose to have Christmas Dinner at the White Elephant this year, although we do not often use the pub we thought we would give it a try. There were two sittings available and we chose the earlier one. The greeting on arrival was very warm and welcoming and the staff throughout the whole day were perfect. There was no rushing us to eat, we we’re allowed to take our time and enjoy our food and drinks, in fact we stayed for hours! There was another table who seemed to want to eat faster, so maybe if you wanted a quick Xmas day dinner this wouldn’t have been for you but we loved it, and will be booking again next year.

We went to the bottomless brunch yesterday and was highly impressed by the selection of food and drinks. Kaitlin was my point of contact for the afternoon and she really did a great job of looking after us!! Thank you!

Came for Christmas Eve Eve bottomless brunch with my girl friends and Kaitylnn was an amazing hostess, made sure we all had our food orders and our drinks on time. Any dietary restrictions was never any issue and we all had an amazing time!!

Went to The White Elephant last night for our staff Xmas do. Buffet for 30 people was great, food and service fast and efficient, and tasted great! Staff were great despite it being a very busy night! Drinks offers are also good value, on a Friday. Throughly recommended and will be back! They even put the football on for me!

Love this pub.. been drinking here for a good few years now. Since the arrival of new landlord and landlady (joe an Co) he has turned it into how a proper pub/restaurant, how it SHOULD be, staff are great service excellent, never seen it so busy in years..restaurant never stops weekends. no waiting for food, on time all the time. Three of us ordered meals one turkey with extra Yorkshire pudding, lady brought meals out she was not in the pub uniform, said “ you’re extra pudding is on that plate pointing to the beef meal “ then said “ so there it is !!!!!” Get it yourself shrug , Dreadful attitude! She should have brought a new one how does she know the person having turkey is not allergic to Beef !! She was most unprofessional!! Haven't visited the White Elephant for quite some time due to some poor experiences in the past.However I'm glad I decided to try it this time! Under seemingly new management this place has totally changed. We visited on a Friday night and the pub felt cosy, nice lighting and a nice upbeat level of music was great.I had the new canopy ale which was suggested by James and tasted excellent, they know how to keep their ale! And my wife had a good range of gins to choose from.We we're only planning on staying for a couple of drinks but we took a look at the new menu and the small plates looked so good we had to try them.We went for the chicken tacos, squid and fish sliders. All were cooked really well and presented beautifully, the squid coating was very tasty and cooked nicely so well done to the chef! Great service and attentiveness from Kasey really made us feel welcome. The manager George was working hard to make sure everyone was having a great time and even had time to stop and chat to us which was nice! The staff are a real credit to this place!We can't wait to come back and I can't believe we waited so long to return!

Visited this pub a couple of days ago with some friends. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. We were served by Charlie and Katie, who made us feel extremely welcome, were incredibly polite and friendly. I would 100% recommend, and will definitely be returning soon.

Came in with the lads for the united game, they keep the drinks flowing and the food was great. The staff took good care of us, especially becca who was a good laugh and a great server. Will deffo be coming back for more football games.

My husband and I were staying in the area and decided to visit for a spot of lunch. We ordered two lasagnas and they were perfect. Katie was serving us and was extremely helpful when we were trying to find something to do in the nearby area. She did everything she could to try and find something for us to go and do, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you for the lovely visit, hopefully we’ll be able to come again soon.

Visited twice in one week for food and we couldn’t fault it. Great service and polite staff and all reasonably priced. Food was great and the selection is really good for a pub. The pie was cracking and the Sunday roast really good. Highly recommended
