Warm welcome, lovely choice of freshly prepared food. Looking forward to trying the homemade steak pies we bought to take home. Great value for money and smashing people.

White Chimneys is a a gem of a cafe for local visitors and other passing by. Simple, unpretentious, homemade tasty food with great service. The traditional atmosphere is refreshing, and a lovely depart from the usual tourist driven 'fancy' cafes with higher price points. As locals, we visit often and always enjoy the range of food on offer.

Stopped in here for a coffee, tea and cake. It was quite a limited choice but ok. Not very much nearby but a few customers were seen to come and go so it may be popular with the locals.

Looking for an afternoon snack, my wife and I found this gem of a place. Wonderful and cheerful staff who were genuine in their welcome. Two teabags in the tea pot and hot water to refill. Plenty of choice on their menu and I would heartily recommend the steak and egg roll. It was almost like being invited into someone's dining room. A very enjoyable visit.

Living locally we often pop in to Margaret's at the weekend for a spot of lunch (and sometimes breakfast too). Lovely friendly and polite staff, food is all home cooked and wholesome and if you can get a table the cafe is very comfortable. Would recommend the cooked breakfast, the stovies, the lentil soup and the smoked mackerel pate rolls, however I go in with my kids who all highly recommend the traybakes!

So pleased to have found White Chimneys. It offers traditional cafe grub - sandwiches, soups and potatoes, with a great range of fillings. There's also the traditional fry-up, and early fish suppers (Friday evenings)Service is quick for takeaways and eat-in, and there are also daily newspapers to buy. Good coffee.Tea room could do with a bit of updating, but the food and service make up for this.

Small simple cafe with great traybakes to go with a pot of tea-nothing pretentious about it-several cyclists popping in for a snack. We'll drop in again!

Came across the White Chimneys in Pitscottie whilst travelling north from St Monans with our minds made up that we would have to travel to the likes of Perth or other to partake in a soup or Sandwich. To find the White Chimneys, to discover that they served a wonderful all day breakfast at very reasonable prices and all with a terrific ambiance, created by lovely surroundings and pleasant staff. I would agree with my 'other half' in saying that it was probably the best breakfast we have had for a long time.We also bought 2 slices of their banoffee cake as take away to have when we got home. Wrong!! - Ate them during a stop on the journey home!

Having just had a look on their website and as a resident of Pitlessie I wondered why I had never come across it in our little village. No wonder of course, as it is in Pitscottie not in Pitlessie. Both place names may sound similar and are nto really that far away from each other but on opposite sides of the village of Ceres. Both names stem from their pictish origins, Pitlessie meaning 'meeting place of the Picts' and Pitscottie, who knows. Another blunder by tripadvisor, who don't seem to get their webpresence right. If you are looking for a tea room in Pitlessie, I am afraid you will have to look a long time, there isn't one - as yet.

Having wandered round Culross, we were hungry, so popped in here. We had quite a wait, but it was well worth it! The two (handmade) soups were delicious – wish the bowl had been a bit bigger, though. The sandwiches were really tasty, on lovely thick brown bread.

Party off 3. All meals starters, main and sweet all good. Although there were two large parties in the service was still very good. No complaints. Will be back soon

This is the best coffee shop in St Andrews - but only in terms of the coffee and the food. I love the drinks and the bagels especially are *french kiss* but I would love to be able to come and sit, and enjoy my bagel at a table. The issue is that the already limited seating is taken up by students who have pretty much always finished their drinks. I really think it would be a good idea to have maybe half of the seats reserved for people who just want to come and sit for 10 minutes to have a drink because the shop itself is so nice and clearly very well finished. As a student myself I know there are plenty of study spaces in town so a study free area surely wouldn't meet much resistance? I for one would visit the cafe much more often, instead of just for takeaways. That said, the staff are amazing and the coffee is superb.
