White Bear Inn, Nelson in Pendle

Nothing special, ok for midday on a weekend. Wouldn't recommend for young children, limited menu. Very basic, expected more for central location.

Couldn’t have chosen better for our first night. Really enjoyed an excellent a fish supper. Fantastic chips proper mushy peas and the fish and batter was delicious. Really friendly atmosphere, Fantastic service Definitely recommend

Went to visit the White Bear. Did not feel welcome at all. They refused my sons South African Drivers licences as ID even they are all over 18. The DJ announced in front of everyone on the microphone that he would not accept fake I.D’s. We will not be back, thanks for making us feel so unwelcome.

Favourite watering for local village idiots and lovers hannan and shackleton, they love to drink woo woo cocktails. Avoid, as they have violent tendencies

The food is delicious. The cheese pie was superb the best we've had. The burger was also top quality👌 above what was expected. Will definitely be returning

The food was awful. I ordered cheese and onion pie. What I actually got was, POTATO, onion and cheese. False advertising. There was no mention of potato on the menu, and there was more potato than anything in the pie. Won't be going again

The pub with no beer! Just a row of unused pumps. Various lagers on offer. I don't usually feel the cold but the place was freezing and unwelcoming

3 of us just had a meal, it was delicious. 2 had Mushroom Starter, n Lamb Main. Hot n cooked perfectly. 1 had Fish n Chips (crispy batter n soft, fleshy fish). Young lass serving was so friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Called in for Sunday lunch. It was a very limited menu, due to being a recent, new landlord. However, if the Sunday lunch was anything to go by, the rest of the menu, once up and running, will be superb. Very tasty, plentiful and value for money - we couldn't fault it.

Not currently at it's best... New management has clearly opened a few days before they were ready (weekend entertainment still happening, no food, limited drink options). Very friendly and welcoming to make it worth a look... Don't doubt I'd rate it higher if I'd stopped a week or so later.

Called in just for drinks. A lovely place with very friendly and helpful staff. The bar itself was lovely and comfortable. Although we weren't eating the menu looked very reasonably priced.

Nice big pub .... lots of great beers ,gins and wines ...

Rich in history having stood on the site since 1607. John Wellesley took refuge after preaching nearby at Roughley in 1748. Charming interior fitting for its age. We enjoyed a drink outside and the locals very engaging. People were eating but on this occasion we did not. Dogs welcome and even a treat jar for them. Well worth a visit

A bit disappointing as they only make burgers and hot dogs. If you like burgers this is a place to go. A good variety with different types of sauces. Chips were really good but are extra's so for burger and chips it's a bit dear. £11.00. Staff were friendly there's outside seating and wheelchair access. We won't be going again but only because we prefer a cooked meal.

The pints are cold and food is cheap. A typical chain pub really. The same as most others. The drinks are good but overall the food is pretty rubbish but fills a hole and the service is OK but nothing special

This is a lovely pub , well presented with great atmosphere. The menu offer a good range of choice, at fantastic prices. I had the gammon and everything was perfect. There is a carpark at the side , which is a pay and display from £1 , this is redeemable off your order. Disabled entrance. Seating outside .

Fantastic place... We had a disappointing start to our day out in pendle as the heritage centre was a let down and decided to pop in here for lunch.... The staff were very friendly and the barman showed us around the pub telling us the history and info of the building(which is, why we came to pendle to learn about the history of the area) there was an offer on for burger and chips for £4 lovely food very good value and great service... A highlight of our visit. Thank you to the staff..... We were the chatty excitable scouser/wirralers :)

Really poor service - went to the white bear last night with friends and the kids. Wasn’t busy and it took 25 minutes for drinks which came wrong, food then came out minus my meal and it was that late when it finally arrived I ended up getting it as takeaway. No attempt at an apology by way of any kind of refund for incorrect drinks or missing food. It’s a shame as I’ve had food there previously over the years and recommended people. I can only presume there’s new management or the staff were more attentive to the ten bob millionaires in the bar section.

Good pint friendly staff. Most tables reserved at the moment, so be prepared to wait, we struck lucky got a table with another couple that dident mind making room for us.
